Evelyn looked down at her food, appreciating the way it was so appetizingly plated. "Pasta Bolognese..." she recited, memorizing the meal placed before her. The way the redhead mentioned "the usual exceptions" told her this was a meal normally made with garlic. Garlic, as Rosa knew as well as a few others, was something she was highly allergic to. The empress detested even having it in the castle to avoid any incidents; however, she was persuaded otherwise. Evelyn looked over to the girl, expecting her to introduce herself proper to the girls. But one look at Chloe's pet wolf had sent her into a panic where she literally clawed her way out of the room. '...Hmm. I thought she had gotten over that fear of hers.' Considering she didn't act like that around Skal or any of his pack in quite some time, it was a reasonable assumption. She calmly took another sip of her tea, allowing her food to cool while the princesses conversed. Evelyn mused over their questions and requests all while Rosa was having her panic attack. "Now...don't be silly. My reasons for destroying the guilds...is because they oppose me. I must admit they are a powerful threat and for that reason alone, they must be destroyed" she explained. "You claim your Magic Council can regulate and control them, but they can't. Rosa here, is a testament to their terrifying might that cannot be leashed. Their reckless drive to preserve this 'balance'... Right now, your guilds are likely preparing to wage war against me. Ready to take the law into their own hands and enact vengeance. Magic Guilds with more power than the kingdom's own military- do the people even notice? But surely they do enough good to warrant a blind eye...until the kingdom does something they don't like. Then who can stop them? Certainly not the military or the Magic Council. To put it simply, guilds do not need to exist because they cannot be controlled."

Upon the redhead's stammered request, the woman sighed, setting her cup down and motioning her hand over to the wheelchair. Hands would spring from the shadows, dragging the chair into the other room for Rosa. Evelyn would then turn her attention back to the girls, shaking her head. "My apologies to your discomfort, princess. I'm sure we can find you a suitable cuff similar to Princess Mizuki's. Unfortunately, I cannot allow you to roam about without one. I don't intend on making it easy for you girls to be found, nor do I want you using magic, which is why your power is being suppressed. And yet..." the woman trailed off, her eyes narrowing as they locked onto Mizuki's. Suddenly, those hands from the shadows would emerge once again and quickly grab hold of the blue haired girl's wrists and ankles with a flick of the empress' wrist. "Forgive me. I'm not accustomed to the abilities Celestial Spirit Wizards possess. Though the slight fluctuations in your magic seem...unusual to me. You should be incapable of using magic...but it's highly possible for someone to use magic on you, like now. Did that Spirit do something to you before we parted ways? Perhaps I should have attempted to destroy it after all, hm? Come now, explain yourself" Evelyn demanded calmly, tightening her grip on the girl. She also kept an eye on the brunette and her pet, waiting to see if they would make a move. Though if they did, they would sorely regret it.

Mizuki smiled, dipping her head in gratitude. Despite her discomfort, Chloe chose to overlook her own needs to see to the Eridani princess’s. Few could claim such favor with the elder princess. It could be said that both were willing to do whatever possible to keep the other safe and comfortable. Precisely the reason why Mizuki wagered with Evelyn as she had. Clattering of wheels drew her gaze to the newest arrival in the dining room. Rosa attempted a bow of greeting before further crossing the threshold. The cerulean-haired girl inclined her head in kind. Her teal orbs studied the woman intently, searching for any hints as to her purpose here. It was apparent she was the cook for the Broken Crown members. The delectable-looking plate of pasta set before her spoke to as much; however, was she a member herself? From the way she and Evelyn conversed, there could be no other assumption made. Chloe seemed to find the redhead’s presence here as unlikely as Mizuki. “Why would someone like her be—” An ear-shattering screech resounded throughout the room. She turned quickly towards the source, finding Rosa cloying her way into the kitchen. Shrieks about Blue trailed after her. “Is she that deathly afraid of dogs?” Mizuki quirked a brow. Possessing a fear of dogs was not unheard of. It could be considered quite a common phobia, to be certain. Yet she had never experienced someone react so violently to the mere sight of a canine. Evelyn took the panic of her member in stride, Mizuki observed. The blonde calmly sipped her tea before addressing the girls’ previous requests. “You’re wrong,” Mizuki shook her head. “The Magic Council and Fiore’s military are well aware of the strength and numbers of the guilds. They regulate them, pass punishment upon them if warranted. There is a reason for the amount of paperwork required of the guilds. What you more accurately describe…are illegal, dark guilds. Guilds like your own that act violently and ruthlessly. To say there should be no guilds, yet have one under your command, is hypocritical.” Light pink lips pursed in a frown. “You make it sound as if you had no other recourse but to attack our homes and families. But there were plenty of other options. Less violent ways to enact your plans. Yes, our guilds are going to come after you but only because you wanted them to. If you didn’t, then you would employ other methods. Why not simply ignore the guilds until you accomplished your goals? Why not quietly make your moves instead of involving us right off the bat? You would have been in a position of power. Now though…” Mizuki allowed the rest of the thought to drift away. It stood to reason that Evelyn chose this particular path for its highly visible nature. “…Unless…unless you have an ulterior motive by forcing the guilds’ hands?” A most unpleasant prospect indeed.

She fell silent in quiet pondering while awaiting Evelyn’s retort. It was during the interim that Leo’s wondrous voice rang out in her mind. “Leo!,” she declared rather enthusiastically, pleased to be in contact with her old friend. “I am alright. She hasn’t harmed either of us. Chloe is in a bit of a state, but that’s mostly due to the fact she is not wearing clothing of her own choosing.” The feline spirit would know very well how disparaged the Fiore princess would be. “I’ve been trying to get information to pass along. She’s stubborn and cautious though. She refuses to tell us why she kidnapped us. However, I have received somewhat of a response about the attacks on the guild. Apparently, she attacked merely to weaken us and get us out of the way. I don’t think she is revealing the full truth of it, but she has yet to say anything more on it.” Mizuki’s gaze drifted to the table. Her mind focused sharply on Leo’s advice and encouragement from Master Helga. His connection to her wavered and waned for a brief time. A symptom of the weakened state of their telepathic link. “She dislikes messes? I think I know just what to do about that then.” The amusement she felt was promptly dampened by a second fluctuation. Leo chose to end their discussion for the time being in order to preserve his magic. “Leo, please keep the link open a little while longer. We are currently at dinner. I may be able to learn more of her plans. Give me another five minutes, if you can. If not, then contact me when you are able to.” An affirmative from the Celestial Spirit placed her at ease. Although she would not speak of it openly, her connection to her spirits always provided a comforting effect, especially when in stressful situations.

Stuttered pleas drifted in from the kitchen. Rosa requesting her chair. Mizuki glanced up, mildly intrigued, as Evelyn summoned forth hands from the shadows to do her bidding. Once the chair was dealt with, the conversation turned once more to the matters of comfort and their imposed residency. The empress did not sound opposed to removing Chloe’s cumbersome shackles. Yet, as she suspected, both girls would still be forced to wear at least one cuff to keep their magic repressed. Mizuki was not surprised. Allowing them access to their magic would see an end to this ordeal sooner rather than later. Evelyn’s tone shifted subtly. Curious, the Eridani princess caught the other’s gaze. Her penetrating stare bore into the girl. In an instant, hands flew from the shadows, clasping tightly about her wrists and ankles. Their swift movements caught her off-guard. Eyes wide, she pulled and yanked her arms and legs in a bid to wrench them free. To no avail. The hands were clamped too firmly. “Leo! She sensed us!” Mizuki issued the inward cry right as the connection closed. Whether he heard or not would be of no consequence. For, if Evelyn could sense the instabilities, then she would know whenever Leo made contact. What should I do? Should she reveal the truth to the woman? Explain how her magic truly worked? Or should she divert suspicion elsewhere? Neither option was highly appealing. Her eyes flicked to Chloe and Blue. She must take them into consideration as well. What would the consequences of speaking frankly be…for herself and for them? What would the consequences of not? Hands squeezed harder. The girl flinched. Twisting in her seat, Mizuki glowered at Evelyn. “You wouldn’t be able to touch Leo. He has been around longer than Earthland itself.” Her gaze remained locked with the blond woman’s long enough to see her point made clear. Her Celestial Spirits would not be destroyed by the likes of Dharke. Releasing a breath of air, she at last resigned herself to the unpleasant task at hand. “Leo did not do anything to me before we left.” The words were soft at first though grew firm as she continued, "It is one of my abilities as a member of the Kagehoshi lineage. Some of us born to wield Celestial Spirit magic hold a special connection with the spirits. One deeper than other Celestial Spirit mages, like Chloe. Normally, it does not fluctuate.” She nodded to the wrist bearing Evelyn’s cuff. “But since my magic is being withheld, Leo was made to compensate.” Mizuki wasted little time with her explanation. She chose to keep the details broad, yet not so vague as to arouse suspicion. Even while she did so, the younger princess never disregarded Chloe and Blue. She willed them not to act against Evelyn. Her fear they would come to harm ever present.

        [] L O C A T I O N Din din room xxxx[] C O M P A N Y Evelyn, Mizuki, Rosa, & Blue xxxx[] E M O T I O N S Freakin out mostly xxxx[] T H O U G H T S "No one likes feet on a table! I'll be damned if I let her put her greasy nasty hands on Mizu like that!!

Chloe groaned in boredom, this lady had wayyy to many rules. She was certainly uptight about them all, and she was never one to take heed on rules. There were many times she was warned to be at home, and chose to ignore. Anyways so what, the rich could bend as many rules as they liked. She yawned, with the most bored expression plastered to her face. That was til, she heard the other girl joining them in her wheelchair. That struck her as weird, dark guilds let the crippled join there guild? Maybe she joined to save her own skin from them. Unless one of the light guilds crippled her..oh well. It wasn't her problem, so she didn't question it much more, dropping her own thoughts. That irritated look remained on her face, watching Rosa with her cooked foods. She wasn't impressed, needless to say. Suddenly, out of the blue, the girl whooshed herself backwards as far from the table as she could get. What was her problem now??? Soon enough, she revealed her explanation, she seemed to be afraid of wolves or something. There was literally no difference from them to dogs, they were just much bigger, sweet furry babies. At least that's how she saw them. Maybe Rosa had a bad run in with another, ehh. Not like she really cared. Evelyn seemed so calm about it, acting like she'd seen this three hundred times before and it was totally normal. "What's your problem?? You're freaking out over my baby, and yet you live in the same guild with a large freaking monster?? That doesn't concern you?? This whole place is full of weirdo's" Chloe spoke, rolling her eyes in dramatics. "Blue would never harm someone innocent, so stop freaking out. She only attacks if you deserve it, so I wouldn't try anything around her if I were you." She spoke casually, feeling proud of her sweet girl. Blue was pretty much trained to attack on command.

Chloe was growing tired of this, if she absolutely had to be here, fine. But with this attire, she just wanted to throw it off so bad into a trash can where it clearly belonged. She was still mad about losing her precious outfit, but it's whatever. She'll just replace it than. Her dad should just owe her a new one for not saving her. As Evelynes and Mizuki's chat dragged on, she began gliding her fingers down her hair in an attempt to straighten it better, since she didn't have a brush with her currently. The whole time, she would glare at both Evelyn and Rosa. How much longer were these rescuers going to take?? She hadn't changed her outfit in four hours..that's not okay! She really didn't want anyone to see her like this..if the freaking wizard weekly editor saw her in this state..she'd much rather just be dead. Chloe overheard some of the conversation, placing her own thought and two cents. "You're guild just sounds like a crybaby who can't get what they want and that's to become number one, so you throw a tantrum instead. Instead of throwing your hissy fit on the guilds, you could of just got better members. I mean, you have a crippled cook girl, a dog which is more your pet, and a stupid girl who's ego was bigger than anything. What others do you have? Your reason for doing all of this is just stupid and pointless, and a complete waste of time. You should of just went with Mizuki's suggestion. Really dug your own grave, must as well live with it." Chloe spoke in a snarky voice, checking her nails out as she spoke. There was a dang chipped nail that was bugging her, she needed to fix that before she went crazy staring at it.

The Fiore Princess rolled her eyes at Evelyn's apologizing about her discomfort. That was such bull hunky, she really wouldn't care or they would be roaming free. She was just shoving it in there face at this point, in a mocking way. Her eyes shifted towards the woman's shadows being placed upon her friends arm worriedly, sweating nervously. Chloe knew she wasn't in a state to fight, not without being able to use any of her magic. Dangg, she got them in an awkward position. Even than, Blue used two of her front paws to claw and reach the edge of the table as she stood on her hind legs, growling and baring her fangs. If she physically hurt Mizuki, the wolf would charge at the women and attack. But, she waited until Evelyn chose to act more. Chloe watched the two, Mizuki giving an explanation that was apparently desired. Hearing about her heritage, wow she had an amazing talent for celestial magic. "I'm proud of ya lil sis! Anyways ~" She said wiping at her eyes to brush away happy tears, before switching it up to her enemy and glaring heavily towards Evelyn. And while yes, she saw the gesture her friend made before, but this was just unacceptable. No one puts there filthy hands on her sissy like that. "Just let her go. If you refuse.." She turned in her chair facing the other direction from everyone, lifting one foot above the table but not quite touching it. "I'm going to be unladylike again, not with elbows this time. But with my feet! That's right, it's like being raised in a barn! Which by the way, would be gross." Her eyes stared threateningly, hoping she would release her friend. Apparently the whole elbow on the table bothered her so much, so she was just hoping it'd work.

Rosa. Rosa the alarm is going off.
Nnnnnnoooooo... No it's not... Shut it off...

As the chair was deposited very carefully near her, Rosa smiled and leaned her head back against the wall she was pressed against. Her mind began to steady itself, and she was able to listen in on the conversation and the emotions behind each word. As Evelyn spoke of Rosa herself, there was a melancholy behind it, almost bordering on pity, but still solidly in the realm of compassion. And confusion in all three women in the room behind her. Unsurprisingly, Evelyn must have assumed Rosa to have been past her phobia. The orange haired girl must have felt the same, and chose then to voice it. Rosa laughed gently, but loudly enough to be heard in the dining room. "W-w-well... I'm u-used to Skal and his p-p-pack a-at this p-point... I'm s-sorry for my reaction, L-L-l-lady E-Evelyn..." A servant approached Rosa then from in the kitchen, offering her tissues to wipe her nose with. "T-thanks..."

As she tidied her face from the outburst, Rosa kept listening. The conversation was one of why this was being done. Why so many had been killed. Why the destruction? Rage, hate, and confusion spun about the room tumultuously, batted aside before any of it reached Evelyn by her resolve and deep-seated disdain for Fiore, though Rosa could not quite figure out why she hated the country so much. As Rosa was mentioned, her head slumped forward a little, coming to rest on her knees. She waited for a lull in the conversation before speaking up again. "Mizuki, was it? All that paperwork you mentioned? Yeah, that's not just to keep the guilds slowed down and regulated. It doesn't just serve to punish them... it also serves to protect them from the citizenry that they've wronged. It keeps people from bringing charges against them directly." She took a deep breath and pulled herself unsteadily up in to the chair, helped by the kindly servant girl who had brought her the tissues. She took a second to steel herself before pushing back into the room, closing her eyes and breathing deeply.

As Rosa rounded the corner and spotted the wolf's head over the top of the table, she stopped, no longer able to advance. But she didn't break. Didn't falter. Didn't give an inch. She pulled on and borrowed the emotions of those around her, seeking their courage and resolve to supplement her own. She drew on her sorrow and anger and loneliness at Carmellia's death. At how the Council had left her in the dark and with no hope. Inching forward, Rosa began to speak. "Two and a half years ago, I and my guardian were caught in the crossfire of two guilds. I came out in a coma that I didn't wake from for months. When I did? Well, it turns out my guardian didn't make it out of the rubble of that battle. She died protecting me... I broke. I wept. I drank myself stupid, night after night. And do you know what the worst part is? That council you have so much faith in? These guilds you think are so great?" She turned her head, glaring directly at Mizuki's nose. "They wouldn't help me find who did it. They wouldn't give me any information on possible suspects. And no one was punished. Not even a slap on the wrist or an apology. Sure, the council gave their condolences and their promises that they'd fix things. That they'd get justice for her death. But I didn't care about their apologies... because they're not the ones who killed her. They turned me away with false promises and pleasantries... and smiled while they did it." Rosa looked at Chloe disdainfully. The girl's emotions were really starting to ebb away at her already diminished and fraying patience. "And if you are the future leader of this country? s**t, it has no hope. You're nothing but selfishness and arrogance all bundled up, given a face and makeup and told she was perfect. No one has ever once criticized you, have they princess? If they did, I bet daddy made them go away for you, huh? Your friend Mizuki here? She seems to be real royalty, despite how young she is. All she seems to feel is concern for your well being, and a defiance against this place. And, a feeling of righteousness that isn't based in some tripe sense of 'I'm a princess so I'm right', which you've seemed to wrap your heart in... like a child that never learned that the world doesn't revolve around her..." She looked back to Mizuki, appraising her emotions and presence as best she could without meeting her eyes. She was about to speak to the little blue haired girl, but it was just then that Evelyn caught the bluenette by the wrists and ankles and made her explain what a fluctuation in her magic that Rosa hadn't even sensed meant.

The girl explaining her powerful ancestral tie to her magic interested Rosa. Her own magic was largely hereditary, and she wondered what differences or similarities there could be between the magics. She glared back at Chloe and sighed. "I... wouldn't recommend that. Lady Evelyn would be really, really mad at you. And I don't want to clean the scuff marks from your stupid, impractical shoes off the table. Sandals are much comfier, if that's what you're after, and boots are sturdier, if that's what you need. Are those fashionable or something? I just... I don't get it." She sighed and shook her head, then caught sight of Blue and flinched back the inch or so she'd gotten closer to the table. "Ummm... L-Lady Evelyn? If her a-a-answer is s-satisfactory, I'd like to ask you to release her. The food is getting cold, and cold pasta is really not worth eating..."

Rosa? Rosa, come on, answer me. I know you can hear me.
No. Tired. Lemme sleep.

An explanation was in order from Mizuki, one the empress would listen to intently. She studied the girl closely, watching for any sort of slip up or tell if she was lying. If she was, she was very good at it; either that or she wasn't telling her the whole truth. From how she understood it, her Celestial Spirit was connected to her in some form or fashion. This link was more than just magical, thus it remained in spite of the magic dampening cuff. A spiritual link was not something she could break or suppress and it was possible Leo could use it to track his owner. Or at least, Evelyn wondered if such a thing was possible. And a possibility was not something she wished to tempt fate with... 'Another unpredictable condition...' So far, dealing with Mizuki had come with several probables that were throwing wrenches in her plans. Would she have been better off just using the Fiore princess? 'No, she wouldn't be strong enough on her own and Mizuki has the keys... I'll just have to make do and work around this little problem. I don't have time to waste anymore' she realized. At the very least, she needed to make sure everything was in place and ready.

Before she would say her piece and release Mizuki, Chloe and her pet would chime in, earning a glare in their direction. The brunette had chosen some coarse words to describe her subordinates, ones that did not sit well with the woman at the head of the table. Not only that, but she had the nerve to threaten her and make demands. Would it be so bold and admirable if Evelyn was not so annoyed with the princess. The tipping point; however, was the mangy mutt acting out of place and putting her filthy paws on the table. A silent rage boiled beneath the woman's stoic features as her red eyes would faintly glow. Rosa, not long after berating the girl, would warn her of inciting the empress' wrath...but she was far too late. With her hand aimed at the girl, she would conjure her shadows once more; shadowed hands emerging to grab Blue by the throat and slam her against the wall quite forcefully. She would be held tightly to the point she was being choked and slightly elevated off the ground. From those same shadows, one would wrap itself around Chloe's waist, snatching her back down into her chair. They would then bind her wrists and ankles in the same manner as Mizuki. "...Now. Princess Mizuki, you're a clever girl and I think you should know of me well enough to answer that question. That aside, I assure you, Rosa's not the only one with an unheard story. How many people? How many towns? Suppressed and shown a blind eye. It's sad, isn't it?" she conversed, all the while mindful of her grip on the wolf. "This ability of yours is interesting and I'd like to know more about it. But perhaps later - I find your answer sufficient enough."

Her gaze remained fixed on Chloe, intent on staring her down, even as she spoke to Mizuki. "...As for you, Princess Chloe... I believe I warned you that I would execute your pet if you stepped out of line..." At this, the shadowed hand would exert a little more pressure on Blue to cause her even more discomfort. "You continue to test my patience. Perhaps I should enact on my promise and put this worthless beast out of its misery? Or are you going to behave like a good girl?" she asked, a stern seriousness in her voice. Mizuki might recognize Evelyn acting in a similar manner before she killed that woman. In which case, she would know the blonde was very serious about killing Blue here and now. However, unlike before, Evelyn would hesitate as she could feel Rosa's eyes on her. With a sigh, the empress would take a moment to calm down and let it go. A swipe of her hand and the shadows would fade, releasing Mizuki, Chloe and dropping Blue to the ground. "Consider this your last- your final warning. Do. Not. Test me, child..." It would be the last time she had this discussion with the Fioran princess. She would have no qualms with snuffing out her pet for her insolence - a lesson, perhaps the only lesson she should learn before it was too late.

Slowly standing from the table, Evelyn would look to Rosa and shake her head. "Forgive me, Rosa. I have other matters to attend to. I'm certain you've prepared a wonderful meal, but I'll have to eat later" the woman apologized. The maid holding her parasol would pass it to her as she held her hand out for it. "The girls are now under your supervision. Have Chloe's handcuffs exchanged for a singular bracelet before allowing them to roam the castle. I gave Nebula a personal day... I'm not sure, but I feel she needs the rest at the moment. So if you have any issues regarding the princesses, please reach out to Renata. Although, for their sake, you shouldn't have to" she would utter, sparing them both another look. "Enjoy the rest of your day, ladies. We shall speak more at a later date..." she would nod and then take her leave. It was time to ensure everything was prepared for the incoming trouble. She would first pay a visit to the castle dungeon where she hoped to find Victor hard at work.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit

☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

The woman’s stuttered response carried from the kitchen. Mizuki furrowed her brows even more at the revelation of a dog pack present in the castle. She could understand how the redhead might have become accustomed to sharing a space with those dogs, but should that not also mean she could push past the presence of others? “How does one differ from the other?” She inquired, truly wishing to know. The princess was a curious one. “If you are used to your guildmate’s pack, then perhaps you should examine how you managed to do so. It might help you with others. As for Blue here,” she nodded in the animal’s direction despite Rosa being unable to see. “I agree with Chloe. She is well-trained and wouldn’t attack unless you try to harm Chloe. She’s very protective.” Mizuki believed Blue might also attack if one of them were to try to harm her as well, though she did not feel the need to voice it. As comforting as the idea was, she hoped it would not come to such actions. Blue may be Chloe’s trusted dog, but Mizuki had adopted her to an extent. Her worries were placed on hold when Rosa’s voice drifted from the other room once more. Mouth curved downward, the teenager felt as if she had been slapped in the face. The Magic Council using paperwork to ward off citizens from pressing charges? A more absurd allegation had never been uttered. Yet Rosa was merely beginning. She managed to brave a return to the dining room, wheeling herself as close as she dared. Mizuki’s frown darkened. Never had she heard of the Magic Council or the guilds turning away a civilian in need. Nor did she recall them ever overlooking something as horrific as casualties. Perhaps there had been a miscommunication and the information was too long delayed. “I’m sorry for what happened to you,” she tried to meet the woman’s eyes. “But I don’t think you have the entire story.” A thought struck her. “You may also want to consider…what would you have done if you had gotten the information?” By her current actions, she wondered if the redhead might have sought out vengeance without considering the implications and consequences.

She could not be certain Rosa heard the question posed to her. The redhead had rounded on Chloe and was chiding her for her attitude and behavior. Mizuki flinched when she compared them. Not because she felt superior to the elder princess, but because she felt many were not giving Chloe her due. While it was true she was selfish and materialistic, the bluenette saw past those to the girl’s core. Within the Fioran princess lay the makings of a fine queen. She merely needed to learn the finer points of being a proper ruler. To reject the notions of selfishness and narrow-mindedness and see the needs of her people take precedent. These things were there, inside of Chloe. Her friend just had yet to realize it. Mizuki did not have time to interject with her opinion. For it was in that instant that Evelyn summoned hands of shadow to bind her to the chair. There was a second of panic as she relayed the turn of events to Leo. It ebbed quickly enough though. Her keen mind started to sort through the issue. Unfortunately, she had but one recourse available; thus, Mizuki explained her connection to the Celestial Spirits, providing what she hoped to be sufficient detail to warrant release.

Regrettably, Chloe and Blue reacted poorly to her dilemma. The wolf barked and leapt to her hind legs while the Fioran princess issued a childish threat. “No, you don’t have to—” She was unable to finish her statement. More hands flew from the shadows to grasp wolf and master alike. Mizuki winced. Her eyes grew wide upon seeing Blue slammed against the wall and subsequently choked. Chloe had been subdued in the same fashion as herself. Even as she did this, Evelyn acted as if it were nothing more than a momentary distraction. Her dark crimson orbs remained on the elder princess yet the first of her words were for Mizuki, returning to a previous point of conversation. “Please,” the bluenette breathed out, unable to respond appropriately for fear of Blue’s safety. “Don’t kill her. She was trying to protect me. Chloe will be sure to keep her in check…and I will make sure Chloe understands the brevity of the situation. Just…stop choking her…please.” Her pleas came out in a flurry. She recognized all too well the set of the blonde’s demeanor. Evelyn held that very same resolve during their first meeting earlier that day.

Mizuki dared not breathe. She prayed Evelyn would release Blue, if not Chloe and herself. Her wish came true a moment later when the empress at last deigned to dismiss the shadows. Closing her eyes, the Celestial Spirit mage released a sigh of relief. She then reached over to take Chloe’s sleeve. With a tug, she would walk her over to where the wolf lay crumpled on the ground. Alive but only just. “Chloe,” she whispered to her friend while settling on her knees, shifting to where she could view the two compatriots. “We cannot afford to act rashly here. This woman is unlike anyone else you might’ve faced before. She doesn’t yield to anyone…and she is more than willing to kill to get what she wants.” Her face fell at the remembrance of the mother so callously murdered to achieve her cooperation. “Don’t force her hand. I don’t want you or Blue getting hurt.” Upon saying the latter’s name, Mizuki reached out to gently stroke her side. The other hand kept hold of Chloe to keep the brunette from doing something untoward in retaliation. Thankfully, Evelyn announced her departure for the time being. The Eridani princess raised her head to meet the other’s stare. A parting nod heralded the exit of the empress. Although the curtains remained drawn, a lightness seemed to radiate about the space in due course. Mizuki felt the hefty weight of apprehension lift a little from her chest. True, they were still prisoners of the dark guild, but the threatening atmosphere had dissipated, even if it was for a short time.

Any conversations being spoken here, was just drowning Chloe out in boredom town. It was boring just sitting here, having nothing to do, no fun to be had. Right now, she had two choices. Listen to Rosa drone on about her story, or just drown it out and ignore. As she began, the Fiore princess was leaning more on half listening. It just sounded like some sob story, she didn't feel the need to give any two cents. Mizuki's opinion on the subject was spoken greatly though, nodding her head in agreement. Her words all made crystal clear sense. And so far..no one here had many any sense. Chloe gave Rosa a glare straight back, was she really gonna just sit here and insult her now? Oh hell no. "Excuse me?? Oh I know you didn't just say that. You obviously don't know me at all, why so judgy. If my daddy actually payed any attention to me, I wouldn't even BE here right now. Daddys never done anything like that for me. And I don't expect him too. He's busy all the time." Chloe spoke her piece in annoyance, she wasn't just gonna sit there and take that insult. And while she would prefer her dad take care of things like that for her, she knew it was as impossible as one day spotting unicorns frolicking. "Anyways you're really gonna sit here and feel scared of me ruling? But you're okay with that crazy bat lady??? You people have issues. You don't know anything about ruling either." Chloe spoke her piece in annoyance, she wasn't just gonna sit there and take that insult. This whole place gonna give her a headache, rolling her eyes like an annoyed teenager. To her, there was nothing wrong with being spoiled. Was it so wrong to want things?? Stealing things out of spoiled was the worst kind of spoiled rotten thought. Why couldn't the world just revolve around her though?? It'd certainly make things in her life much more simple.

Chloe's own leg hovering above the table in order to demand Evelyne release Mizu, her gaze turned to Rosa. "I really don't care. None of us are here to be friends, why should I care about making anyone here mad? I'm mad cause I'm forced to be here, you didn't avoid me being mad." She said, giving her opinion and telling why she wasn't going to care about that. Rosa's question about not understanding all the fashion trends seemed to excite her, grinning happily and stupidly. "Oh I'm happy you asked, all types of things can be considered fashion! Sandals, boots, shoes, depends on what qualities was used to make it. Simple minded people wouldn't understand it." Chloe had no intention of insulting in that sentence, the whole not getting it through her off track. There were people who cared not at all for fashion, and she could never wrap her head around that. She loved picking out outfits, and seeing all the different styles. She knew that sort of thing wasn't for everyone though! Though she got hella nervous watching Evelyn hurting her best friend, the only thing processing in her mind was what if she was intending to snap her hand? She wasn't going to just sit and let her hurt her friend like that! She just had to do something to help. Although, she didn't realize Blue was going to get overly protective too. But that was how Blue was, her whole life was learning to protect. It was literally all she's ever known. Other than being there for others, and friends. Chloe watched her precious fur baby get attacked with those nasty shadows, and thrown through the air. Her mommy senses were tingling, but she felt useless. She couldn't do a thing to stop this madness, as she was being pinned into the seat, despite attempting to remove herself from the chair, and having no luck. Blue showed no sign of fear, as she struggled to get out from the shadows, baring her teeth the entire time. She never worried about herself, only others.

Chloe's gaze turned to Mizuki, that sweat practically pouring down her face. And she hated to sweat. Her gaze than locked onto Evelyn, the look of worry still there. "N-no..please don't. I'm sorry I forgot!! You can't expect me to remember every little thing, can you?? Yeah, stop hurting her!!" The Fiore Princess was losing her calm, chiming in with Mizuki in there begging to stop hurting the poor fur baby. She had never felt so glad to be released though, but felt better watching as she removed all the shadows, feeling her own body able to move freely again. Blue lie for a few minutes, before pushing herself off the floor, strolling back towards the two, sniffing at the two princesses, making sure they were okay. Chloe sighed of relief that the two were okay, but her gaze swiftly went right on back to annoyed, pinning Evelyn with that same gaze. "Well you should promise not to hurt Mizu either, than we'd have no problems.." She spoke lowly, still clearly annoyed. At least that crazy lady left..now they didn't have to worry so much. Her attention turned towards Mizuki, as she whispered to her. "She started it." Chloe spoke like a child arguing over who was in the wrong, though she knew she was in the wrong too. "Ahh, I'm sorry I know. I'll just ignore her. Than she can't get annoyed..right?" She had all intentions of ignoring, but some things she couldn't get herself to ignore, no matter how hard she tried. Now that they were free to explore..maybe they could have some fun now. Chloe looked towards Rosa, was she gonna be there tour guide around here now? She'd be lying if she didn't say she wanted to explore and see it all.

Rosa. Rosa the alarm is going off.
Nnnnnnoooooo... No it's not... Shut it off...

When Mizuki tried to match her gaze, Rosa quickly looked down, refusing to make even fleeting eye contact with anyone else today. Though, the self-righteous, selfish, egocentric attitude and feelings Chloe exuded drew her attention, and she found herself staring, even glaring, at the older princess's nose. "...parents are always busy... a ruler probably has even more on their plate to deal with... I'm sure he cares..."

Then, and despite her best efforts, and even knowing Evelyn for who and what she was, Rosa found herself taken aback by the sudden display of strength from her guild master. She had been intending to reply to the princesses with calm, honest, heartfelt discussion to make them understand her; and hopefully her guildmates. But that flew out the window when Evelyn decided she'd had enough of the Fioran princess's disdain for order and cleanliness. As much as she was afraid of the wolf, Rosa didn't hold anything against it. In fact, she admired the loyalty and determination it exuded. Hearing and seeing it slam in to the wall so forcefully made the Empath's heart sink. When pressure continued to mount on the wolf's body, Rosa almost expected Evelyn was going to kill it. But a curious emotion crossed the blonde's heart then: hesitation. But why? It was... because of her?

Curious and curiouser...

When her guildmaster apologized for having other matters to attend to, Rosa made note to talk to her later about just saying what she meant, instead of hiding her need to feed and calm down. "Of course, Lady Evelyn. I'll have it stored in the refrigerator for you to eat at your leisure. I suggest some time in the next day or two, for best flavor. And wait, my, supervision? As... as you wish, Lady Evelyn." She bowed her head, and at the waist, waiting for Evelyn to leave. As soon as the guild master was gone from the immediate range of her Empathy, the redhead let out a deep sigh, and began rolling herself over to the girls and the wolf.

Rosa, what are you doing?
I have no earthly clue. But I think it's going to be important to do something... just, tell me if I do something egregiously stupid... okay?
Oooohhh... my favorite sport!

As Rosa wheeled closer and closer still, she felt her heart race. She'd taken all of a year and change to be able to work with Skal's pack confidently. Mizuki had made a point that sounded reasonable: why not other wolves and dogs, if Skal's no longer scared her? She put out an air of calming, positive, gentle emotions, hoping to ease not only herself, but the injured dog and the princesses. "Is... is y-your wolf o-okay?" She noticed a slight trickle of blood from the wolf's mouth, and despite herself, immediately began to worry and even panic a little for the canine. Though, the beast seemed to be okay after a few moments, and the girl let herself relax a little more.

It was here that the emotions of curiosity, and caution began to mix and muddle one another, and the redhead found it hard to distinguish which was which, and coming from which of them. So, she fell back to the earlier conversation. "I thought about what I'd do if I found who did it. And I still do. Honestly... at first I'd have just beaten them to a pulp and demanded an apology for her death... then... honestly I think I'd have forgiven them and moved on. It's what she would have wanted, I think. But then they decided to hide behind the system and make themselves cowards. I... don't know what I'll do when I find them now. I really don't. But hopefully this will flush them out into the light, and make it so I or my allies can find them." She looked down at the floor, unwilling to match the eyes of someone new again today. "I'm... glad your wolf is okay. Ummm... are you both ummm... okay? Well... as well as could be expected, I mean." She looked sheepishly over at the girls, settling more on Mizuki than Chloe. The former was holding steady in her defiance, but caution was winning the day, with mischief close behind. The latter was feeling as arrogant and entitled as before, but fear was beginning to creep into her heart. Fear not of, but for. For her friend. For her pet. For herself.

Rosa? Rosa, come on, answer me. I know you can hear me.
No. Tired. Lemme sleep.

☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

Mizuki allowed herself a deep sigh. Evelyn’s departure from the room made it far easier to think and act without feeling as if her every move was being surveyed. “It’s not about who started it or finished it,” the princess admonished Chloe lightly. Her hand gently raked through the fur atop Blue’s head. Chloe must come to understand the direness of their situation. She had not been at Balsam with Mizuki. She had not witnessed the murder of a mother in front of her young son. The evidence of the empress’s resolve to achieve her goals. They needed to tread carefully around her lest she make good on her threats. What had just transpired with Blue was merely a warning. Mizuki doubted the woman had even shown a quarter of her true strength in that moment. “Ignoring her would likely make her angry,” she shook her head before peering over at her friend. Her lips remained downturned in a frown. “As much as I hate to say it, we’re going to have to listen to what she says for the time being. I know it’ll be difficult, but we must. She won’t hesitate to hurt Blue as punishment, and I dare say she would do the same to one of us should we cross her.” It is that point which caused the teenager’s stomach to knot and twist. She still berated herself for losing the wager with Evelyn. If she had won, then they would not have to concern themselves as they currently were.

The sound of wheels rolling across the dining room stifled any further comments she might have had on the matter. Mizuki’s brows arched. The redhead was daring to come closer to them despite Blue’s presence. Was she concerned for the wolf after witnessing her Master’s might? Or was she tending to her orders? Her question of the wolf’s status indicated it was the former. “Would you be all right after being slammed against a wall and nearly choked to death?” She spoke evenly, though her teal eyes flashed angrily. An anger which abated almost as swiftly as it flared. “I think she will be fine,” the Celestial Spirit Mage answered with a sigh, sounding more polite. It would not do to be rude to the girl even if she did choose to follow and support a madwoman. Getting to her feet, she pivoted on her heel so she could fully face Rosa. “I don’t understand. If forgiveness is what she would’ve wanted, then why continue to pursue them? What good would it do, especially if you don’t know what you would do now if you found the culprits?” Mizuki pressed her lips together. It sounded as though Rosa deemed vengeance the only viable alternative. The girl had long since abandoned whatever thought of clemency she might have once held. Along with that clemency seemed to vanish the lines between right and wrong.

“I think you’re making a large mistake,” Mizuki shook her head. “Has it never occurred to you that the light guilds may have had nothing to do with it? There are many dark guilds that reside in this country. Did you ever explore that avenue for leads and clues? The Magic Council is vast and powerful, but even they can’t keep track of every single dark guild that comes to be.” Yes, as much as it pained her to admit, she knew well that the Magic Council had its faults. One of which was the registration and records of all active, illegal guilds. She theorized this as the reason for legal guilds having to handle the large quantities of paperwork given them. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a dark guild masquerading as a light guild so they could wreak whatever havoc they pleased. It’d be the perfect way to avoid detection and the consequences of their actions.” Of course, Rosa could easily declare the princess biased on the subject. She was, after all, a member of Blue Pegasus and Chloe a member of Fairy Tail. She would not see its name or any of its allies’ names besmirched. “As to how we are,” Mizuki glanced down at Chloe and Blue, staring at them a moment before responding, “We’d be better if we could go home. You know neither of us enjoys being here. And we have yet to learn why we’ve been brought here in the first place.” The teenager let a smidgen of her frustration eek into her tone. Every instance she had posed the question to Evelyn it had been waved aside with the assurance of being answered in time. Well, time was passing ever faster and yet they remained ill-informed. Perhaps the redhead might be more inclined to provide them some insight. “I don’t suppose you know the reason and would be willing to share it with us?" A long shot to be certain yet the Eridani princess had to make the attempt.

        [] L O C A T I O N At table xxxx[] C O M P A N Y Rosa, Mizu, Blue xxxx[] E M O T I O N S Nervous, than kinda annoyed xxxx[] T H O U G H T S "She's gotta at least drop the deets."

Chloe pouted in annoyance, there was no way her father was SO busy her entire life that he never actually had any time to spend with her. Even a few seconds would of been nicer than nothing at all. "Pft, he had time for everyone else in the family, but he could never even spend just one measly second with me, he can't be that busy. Besides if he really care..it's safe to say I wouldn't even be here. Not like you'd understand.." She said coldy, remembering all the times he was around but never spent much of any time with her, which always pushed her to be discouraged. She didn't really think Rosa would get it, her father probably cared a lot about her. She was probably loved, and her parents were most likely proud of her. That didn't matter now, the whole being attacked by the guild master was a clear enough wake up call, but no way in hell she was going to let anyone harm her little sister. It was her job to care for her now, and she was taking this "job" quite seriously. Despite being lazy in every other one. She'd turn to Mizu, she seemed to be completely against ignoring the guild leader, she didn't get why. Did she not want her quiet? She hated whenever she spoke. "Fine, I won't ignore but I will pay no mind either. Ugh.." She hesitated for a moment, having to do as she says, that went against all the judgement she had known. But if it was to protect those she loved..than fine. "Ok, fine you win. I'll do whatever she says. Better not be cleaning though." She'd state as if disgusted, she absolutely hated cleaning. Besides she had a plan to avoid that..by doing a terrible job. Can't blame her if she sucks at it, and she can't get yelled at.

Chloe was relieved Evelynne decided against killing her only family in this moment, other than Blue the only one she had was Mizu. That's why she felt the need to protect her and Blue. Whatever it took. She shook her head to agree with Mizu, literally who would feel okay after that? "I mean, I think she's okay. She is our best animal warrior, I didn't think you'd care though since you're afraid of her." Chloe shrugged, remembering from earlier Rosa's first reaction towards her. However, Blue always tried hiding any pain, it was hard to tell if she was feeling alright sometimes, she wished she didn't hide it so she could help. Even so, Blue felt the care in Rosa's gaze. She was different from the rest, that much could be said. Despite Rosa's fear, Blue tried to nudge her arm gently. She didn't want her to be afraid of her. As long as she didn't harm her friends, there was no need to attack. Chloe watched the two exchanging words, this guild that attacked Rosa, she had lost so much. But what she was doing now..it just wasn't acceptable. Than again, maybe she was just confused? If Chloe had lived the same way, who knows who she would of become today in this day. That made her ponder..should she be thankful for her dad still? If he were deceased, that would be horrible. She was like half and half on that one..NAH who was she kidding, she still loved him. Despite his own selfish desires, she'd still love unconditionally. She knows Rosa was on the enemy side..but she still kinda felt remorse. Her worry for her friend, it was sweet. "Thank you. I mean, I'd be grateful if you could get her back home at least. Not like anyone would suspect it was you." Chloe shrugged, she hated her puppy living under these living conditions. She was supposed to be pampered and showered with love, like any little puppy. She wished she would of just left her in her maids care, back at home. "I'm siding with Mizu on that." Chloe stated, as Mizu suggested how she'd rather be out of here and at home, in loving arms. "How could anyone be okay living as prisoners? Do you even know what it's like? This is lame." She'd say partially upset, she was never going to be okay until they were free. At the very least, they could get free roam. But nah, they not trusted apparently. She'd smirk at Mizu's request to state there reason of being taken. "Yeah, tell us. We deserve that much right?"

Rosa. Rosa the alarm is going off.
Nnnnnnoooooo... No it's not... Shut it off...

Rosa looked down when she was told she wouldn't understand. "...you're right. I don't understand. My parents died when I was young... my only memories of them are of being in the family home, just us, all my life. And maybe, despite his caring, there's some reason he couldn't spend time with you? Some sort of social or societal reason?" She looked back up for a moment, feeling the waves of melancholy and dismay from the Fioran princess. She wanted to talk more about the subject, but knew this was not yet the time. She felt a wave of deep seated, genuine fear come from Mizuki as the princesses huddled together and whispered. It was from... Evelyn? Fair enough, given the situation. As the girl's retorts to her question about Blue reached her, Rosa actually rolled herself back a step or so to recoil from the concurrent emotions. She didn't have as averse a reaction to anger as she did to fear or distress, but it was still an emotion she was cautious of. Still, the feeling faded quickly enough to a tired, careful kindness from the girls. Still, the wolf's condition weighed on her mind slightly. "Ummm... just because I'm afraid of something doesn't mean I h-hate it... in fact, it's the opposite. I r-really l-like t-t-them... dogs and wolves, I mean. Their emotions are clear, simple, and honest. They don't lie, they don't mistreat eachother unjustly, and they're just... pure. But I'm still afraid of them because of an incident I had as a little girl..." She rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, and froze entirely when Blue touched her hand with her snout.

...don't panic, don't panic, don't panic...
Rosa... are you okay?
...Must not panic, must not panic, must not panic... why would I panic? She's soft and fluffy and just seems protective of her owner...
Hello, are you in there? Earth to the redhead!?!?!
Alright, alright, nothing to be worried about, right? Just another loveable fluffball... right? Right! RIGHT.
Aaaannnnd she's lost in her own head... again.
Okay. Okay. I can do this. I can do this. I'm gonna pet her. I'm gonna... not be scared...
This should be fun... where's the popcorn?

Outwardly, Rosa flinched slightly from the touch of the beast, but quickly gained a measure of composure and extended her hand down to Blue's head, gently rubbing the wolf's ears. She could feel a pain from the beast's neck and back, and without thinking about it, started healing any wounds the beast may have had. There was a faint glow from her hand, and the necklace she wore. A few seconds later, and the glowing stopped. Most of Blue's pain would have abated, and Rosa slumped slightly in the chair. She listened to Mizuki talk about how she was making a mistake, and how she didn't understand why she wanted revenge so badly now. She listened patiently for the blue haired girl to finish, even remaining quiet as Chloe chimed in.

She makes a good point, Rosie. I'm not going to stop you, and you know it... but I can't let you do something that's gonna get you killed. Think things through, okay?

She waited a long moment to gather her thoughts, calm her anger, and try to get her words out in a cohesive, meaningful way. Little did she realize, but as she began speaking, her emotions followed out with the words, subjecting and exposing the girls to every bit of heartbreak, rage, and fear that Rosa felt. Even Blue would be affected, to some degree. "...because when I wanted justice, the world ignored me. When I tried to do what was right, proper, and forgiving, no one helped. Everyone who could have done something, didn't. They turned away. They left me alone, full of not only anger and grief, but abandonment. No one cared. No one bothered. The world turned away... all of them except for this guild. All of them but Evelyn and her people." She looked up, her eyes wet with tears, and gazed intently at Mizuki's nose. "Because when I tried to do what was right, nothing happened. So, I chose to do the only thing left to me, other than a life of bitter, drunken stupor. I chose to align myself with people who can and will overturn the system that left me alone for the second time in my life! And if that means I have to make everyone else my enemy, if it brings the people who killed her to justice? Then fine. If I have to pay for it with a life in prison? Fine. But they will pay for their cowardice and compliance if it's the last thing I do, Mizuki." She paused, let out a deep sigh, and wiped her face on her sleeve. She sniffled a little, too, and wiped it away as well. She caught herself then, spreading out her emotions without control and berated herself the lack of control. She pondered for a moment, and decided it was best to get it out of her system now, to make stopping herself later.

"...do you know what it's like to lose the love of your life? To have them die in your arms? To have your every effort to save their life fail? Didn't think so. And... yes, I considered Dark Guilds among my first suspects. But they're even less willing to sell out to their own than a light guild is, you know? Guess it's that camaraderie that comes from being outlaws together. But, that was a very insightful guess, Mizuki." She paused then, let out a deep, satisfied sigh, and looked to the girls apologetically. "Ummmm... s-s-s-sorry... I ummm... get lost in my emotions sometimes... are you okay?" She knew at least one of them just figured out she was an Empath, and was not looking forward to the inevitable slew of questions. However, when the girls asked if they could be free, or at least return Blue home, the redhead sighed. "Sorry, but no can do. You know I couldn't set you free, no matter how much I dislike the idea of taking hostages. And no, I don't know why you two were taken in the first place. Sorry. Now... can we please eat? I worked really hard on this pasta, and I would like someone to eat before it gets cold." She tried a sarcastic grin, but at best managed a tired smile.

Rosa? Rosa, come on, answer me. I know you can hear me.
No. Tired. Lemme sleep.

OoC: Feel free to have the girls be affected as much or as little as you like. ^^

☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

She smiled sympathetically at Chloe. “I know it’s not going to be easy for you to listen to her. It’s not easy for me either. We have to do it though.” She leaned in closer to the Fioran princess, whispering, “At least until the others show up.” Mizuki also had no intention of simply standing idly by and awaiting their rescue. No, she would do whatever possible to regain freedom. A plan had already stirred, kept locked away at the deepest recesses of her heart and mind until the timing would be right. In the meantime, they would have to accept whatever circumstances and company were thrust upon them, which was currently the redhead. She studied Rosa carefully. Her teal orbs scanned her features for any sign of deception or distrust. It seemed odd for a person to be afraid of an animal yet still hold some level of appreciation for it. Most of the individuals Mizuki had met which harbored fears did not hold a fondness for said fears. Yet, here Rosa sat stating the appeal for wolves and dogs alike. “I don’t know what happened when you were little,” the Eridani princess began, “But you should know one animal doesn’t speak for the rest of its kind. I can’t fault you for being afraid though. Fears aren’t easily overcome, no matter how rational or irrational they are.” She inclined her head to indicate Rosa’s. Blue’s nose touched her as if to calm and soothe. At first, the princess thought the woman would retaliate against Blue’s assumptive manner and strike. A worry amplified by the sudden glowing of her hand and necklace as she laid her hand upon the wolf’s ear. To her relief, however, Rosa did not appear to harm her in any fashion. If that glow wasn’t meant to cause harm, then what did it do? The teenager stared intently at the hand, attempting to decipher what it is that she had done. Whatever it was, it cost the woman her energy. Mizuki did not miss how she slumped deeper into her chair.

Although curious, Mizuki found the course of the conversation shifted towards a darker realm. Whatever she might have expected, whatever she might have thought Rosa would say, she could not have prepared herself for the onslaught of emotions from the redhead. Wave upon wave of anger and resentment, heartbreak and fear rolled over the princess. Rosa’s word struck deep and harsh, causing Mizuki to recoil from them. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest. Its fierce pounding made her ribcage hurt. Her breaths came in short, panting gasps. Never in all the years she had known life had she felt this. It was unsettling, discombobulating. A moment of silence reigned while the Eridani princess struggled to compose herself and regain her thoughts. “I—” She closed her eyes then drew in a deep breath, letting it slowly from her lips. “I’m sorry. That you feel that way. That, when you needed someone to help, nobody would do so. There is nothing I can say or do to make up for that.” The cerulean-haired teenager bowed her head. “But,” she started once more, a hint of disdain in her tone. “I cannot condone or forgive what you’re trying to do now. Don’t you see? You’ve become the very thing you hated. This guild of yours, these people you call comrades, are nothing but murderers and thieves. They’ve killed countless people all in the name of what? Your Lady Evelyn? Do you know how many children are parentless or how many parents are mourning the loss of their children from what you’ve done?” Her voice cracked. Shaking her head, she raised her gaze once more to Rosa. “You ask if we’re okay. Physically, yes. But do you know how Evelyn came to bring me here? Did she tell you what it is she did?” There was a beat of pause and then, “She killed a mother right in front of her son. She would’ve killed him too if I failed to agree to come with her. Do you know what sort of mark that leaves? To know that someone like her would go so far, to commit such an evil act, all to gain cooperation. That boy’s face—,” Tears welled in her eyes. It had been because of her- the reason David’s mother would no longer be with him was her.

She clenched her fists. The tears rolled lazily down her cheeks, unbidden yet unstoppable. Her voice quaked as she continued to speak, though she managed to speak clearly all the same. “Hatred begets hatred. Pain begets pain. You’re so lost in what you believe is justice that you can’t see what you’ve done. No, I can’t understand what it’s like to see the life fade from a loved one. I’ve never had to feel that pain. BUT,” reaching up, she pulled her scarf down just enough to reveal the scar hidden underneath. “I know the fear of having my life nearly taken from me…and I know well the fear of seeing helplessness and fear in the gazes of those I thought invincible. Don’t sit there and think for a moment that mine or Chloe’s lives are untouched by darkness. We just choose to go down a separate path from the one you’re on.” Mizuki settled her scarf back into place, reaching up to wipe her sleeve across her face after she did so. She had let her emotions overpower her control. It was not necessarily a bad thing, but she would have preferred not to let anyone within Broken Crown to see her so distraught. Was there some reason she had been overtaken? Had it been in response to Rosa’s own outburst? Clearly, there was something more to the redhead than what is seen at first glance. Could she be an empath? The Eridani princess could not help but wonder. Empaths were rare but not unheard of. It could be possible. If the chance arose, she might mention it to the woman later. Heaving a sigh, Mizuki arose from the floor and slipped back into her seat at the table. “I assume Blue is also considered a hostage then?” Her question might be considered somewhat rhetorical. If Blue had been useful in keeping Chloe in check thus far, it was not stretch of the imagination to believe Evelyn would want to keep the wolf around to continue being her pawn. If only they could send her home… Mizuki felt her appetite wane. Although concerned, she knew she must eat a little food. If not for manners, then to keep her strength up for when the time of escape presented itself.

Chloe's gaze swayed towards Rosa, even as the words of her saying she wouldn't understand escaping her lips. In truth, she hadn't really ever had the thought she might have ever ended up similar to Rosa with no parents, shrugging it off. Guess that was worst and she wins that competition, not that she knew how it felt. "Ok fine, I'm sorry. At least you don't gotta have them baby you..or uh..."Chloe was trying to make her feel better, but the more she spoke the worst it sounded. This wasn't really something she was good at..probably because usually she makes people feel bad, not good. Not like she was willing to change her ways. She had her reasons. "I doubt it, everyone else in my family he gave attention too. I guess no one cares for the older sisters." She rolled her eyes sarcastically, that's how it always was for her. She honestly figured he just had some sort of dislike for her or something, it was the only thing that made sense to her. Chloe reallyyy hated having to take orders of any kind of authorities, really just wasn't her thing. She sighed, there wasn't much of a choice being given. But..as long as she didn't have to do anything crazy, than it was all good. She'd listen closely as Mizuki leaned closer for only her ears to hear, nodding her head in response. She hoped they'd just hurry, she had so much she wanted to do. Nobody liked being confined to a place or area, unless they crazy.

Chloe listened to Rosa admit she liked dogs and wolves, that was kind of odd to her. She thought those who were afraid of certain animals or things would hate them. "That's confusing..but I agree dogs and wolves are pure. Can I ask what happened to make you..fear them so much?" She questioned the girl, curiously. Everyone had a reason to fear one thing to another, but to like and fear it, was a bit odd. She really wanted to know why she was afraid of them, maybe she was attacked? That could certainly scar someone enough to be afraid. Chloe shook her head in agreement to Mizuki's statement, for one animal to attack, every single kind of it shouldn't be to blame too. Blue's nuzzle reached her hand, snuggling warmly. This girl hadn't attacked, or looked like she was going to at all. For those who weren't afraid, Blue didn't want them to feel so afraid. She was at the very least trying to break her fears, she had so much care and love to give. Even in a guild like this. She deserved better. Rosa's hand soon enough came down to pet her head, enjoying it thoroughly. Blue was trying to ignore the pains on her body, when all of a sudden a light reflected off the red heads hand, healing all of the pain away from the wolf. As soon as the light diminished, it felt like she had never gotten into any fights. All of the pain, it was gone within mere minutes. She licked the girls hand, as a way to thank her. She only hoped that wouldn't cause her to run off. But if she did, they could at least escape. Even Blue knew Mizuki and Chloe would not be kidnapped for no reason or something silly..it had to be something seriously dangerous. She had to always be on high alert. She only hoped Rosa would continue to share her pure kindness, unlike the rest of the guild, as far as she could see.

As Rosa shared her story with the two, there was like a burst of emotions coming through. Pain, despair, sadness, hatred, through her words alone she could feel all that. Chloe was left with a blank stare, not really sure how to respond. No one really ever shared a sad story with her, other than peasants looking for her money. But Rosa wasn't, she was informing them of her reasons to hate on light guilds. Had things have been different for Rosa, maybe she would of never even ended up in this guild. If someone had cared. Chloe couldn't help feeling bad for her, not even a feeling usually she has. There was just something about hearing what Rosa had to say, that were triggering all of these feelings deep inside. Feelings she didn't even know she had. Her gaze softened, though she stood quietly for the time being, as Mizuki apologized for everything the red head had been through. Even so, her thoughts were correct, it's possible Rosa was just feeling lost and confused. Nothing else really made sense on why exactly she ended up here, of all places. Chloe flinched slightly as Mizuki mentioned how she ended up here, it was almost the same how she too ended here. Cept, for her it wasn't some random citizen. "I don't even wanna mention how I got here. I'm to sorry you went through all that trauma, but this guild is causing trauma for others too you know. How is it any different from here on what happened to you? Letting that happen to others, that's cold." She said, after Mizuki finished her talk. Although, the silence was speaking volumes, as Chloe noticed the sadness in Mizuki's face. It made her feel..melancholy as well. They made her sissy cry, even tremble!! She may be lazy, she might be a quitter, but she'd NEVER let anyone get away with making her baby sissy cry like that!! She could feel it in her bones, just wanting to crush everyone in this guild who hurt her - except Rosa, of course. And she now knew exactly who it was..she might not be the one to finish her, but she hoped whomever would, would completely destroy her after what she'd done!

Chloe watched as Mizuki too shared her own troubles, showing Rosa a scar, in which she herself hadn't really ever seen before. Most others had a past, growing up wasn't easy for everyone. From what she gathered, someone must of tried to kill Mizuki when she was younger, causing that scar. She was glad they didn't though..she didn't know what she'd do without her. Chloe wanted to share some of her own stories, but oddly enough, she couldn't recall anything. "I..can't remember much about my past.." Blue's ears drooped upon the sudden burst of emotions. She could feel all of the pain within Rosa, even sensing Mizuki's trying to comfort Rosa as much as possible, licking at her hand, nuzzling her with her snout, than moving to Mizuki to snuggle. She trotted around, trying to keep all feeling comfortable. Chloe slowly walked back to her seat, she didn't even feel hungry anymore, but still decided to eat it. Blue watched over all three, guarding them all at once. She took her careful watchfulness, at the cost of protecting all.

Rosa. Rosa the alarm is going off.
Nnnnnnoooooo... No it's not... Shut it off...

As Chloe spoke about Rosa's family life and tried to console her about it, Rosa held up a hand as if to say stop. "It's okay, I know what you're trying to say. I understand being royalty has some... difficulties, associated with it. I didn't mean to try and make my childhood sound bad, either. For the years I had my father I was truly happy, you know? I wasn't exactly an easy child to raise... But tell me, do you make any effort to go out of your way to talk to your father and spend time with him? I know it's not all on you to make the effort to communicate... but some of it is. It's always a give and take, Chloe." She smiled as sweetly as she could, and tried to convey through her emotions a legitimate desire to help her. She wasn't sure how well she was managing that, but she tried. As the subject of her fear was brought up, she felt Blue licking her hand, and reflexively drew it back. But, swallowing her fear for a moment longer, she extended her hand back out for Blue to do with as she liked. She was silent for a long moment, gathering her thoughts and contemplating telling this story for the first time in her life. Despite not having made a decision, Rosa found her lips moving already. "...My father was a prodigious Takeover: Beast Soul user. People would even say it went beyond beasts, and that he could bind the souls of gods... and I believe them." She paused for a minute and wheeled to the table, taking a drink of the water that had been prepared for her previously. Her hands started to shake, thinking of it, and she put the glass down to be safe. She found herself nervously eyeing Blue, and closed her eyes. "Usually, my dad would go out on his missions alone, and I'd have our cabin to myself. I would stay inside at night because, well, wild animals can be dangerous. One night though... I went out for some fresh air, and some coyotes started attacking me. I didn't get more than a couple scrapes before I got back into the house and bolted the door... but then I heard... no, felt a thunderous howling outside, and heard the coyotes yelping. I... stupidly looked out the window... and saw a black wolf the size of our cabin out front, shredding them like paper... It looked back into the window, and I swear it was my father's eyes I saw. Then it was gone... I passed out, and woke up the next morning in my bed. We never talked about the incident, but I've been afraid of wolves ever since... I know. Dumb, huh?" She downed the rest of the glass and let out a sigh. "But... I also know how loyal and loving they can be, so I can't hate something like that. Not when people are so much worse, despite being 'more evolved'..." The redhead laughed almost bitterly about it, but shrugged off the morose humor as quickly as she could.

The feelings of laughter and any lightheartedness fled the room as soon as Mizuki began berating her. She didn't have any real retort for what the girl was saying. Part of her knew the girl had a point. Part of her wanted to help them flee, and be damned with the rest of it. But she didn't listen to that part. She couldn't. What she wanted to see through was far too important to abandon because of some moral misgivings in the short term.

And then Mizuki said something that made Rosa's blood immediately boil. She had to take a second to make sure she'd heard it properly. She filed it away for a second, but it settled too heavily on the front of her mind and heart to be buried for long. Mizuki's emotions told the same story. Fear, fury, pain, hatred.

Fear...

Fear...

Death...

"...you're not lying, are you? You're not making this up to try and rattle me into abandoning my duty... are you?" She wheeled closer suddenly, getting within a couple of feet of the young princess and staring into her eyes for a dangerous couple of seconds before looking back at her nose. There was no lie in her emotions. No hope of deception. No fear of a lie being caught. Nothing. Nothing but that sickening, forceful fear. Rosa pushed herself back slightly, and closed her eyes for a long moment. "Give me your hand please."

When Mizuki revealed her own painful past, and Chloe revealed how little of her own she remembered, Rosa frowned. Their hearts and emotions on the matter singing true. She considered the girl's stories grimly, and sighed. "I didn't mean to imply your lives didn't have their share of hardship. Just... to make you realize a lot of people have similarly awful events in their lives. That was mostly pointed at Chloe, though. No offense, but I could tell from how mature how you are just how harsh things had been for you... I hate that someone would do something so foul as to attempt to murder a young girl... does... does the scar bother you? Cause any discomfort or tightness? I... I could try ummm... healing it. I don't think you'll want me to, though. I think we both treat our scars as important parts of ourselves and our pasts..." She smiled a genuine, understanding little smile for Mizuki, before looking back at Blue and then Chloe. She felt from each of the princesses a sensation she knew entirely too well: loneliness and isolation. Each felt it in their own way, and for their own reason, but it was the feeling Rosa understood best in all the world. She longed to know more. To know why they felt it. To help them move past it. To help cure it, so that they wouldn't have to live with it so much... But then the wave of understanding broke through Mizuki's fear and confusion. A realization about Rosa. A theory? No. A hunch. Still, she was sharp. Chloe didn't know why but she was confused about the emotions that were welling in her heart. Sympathy, sorrow, compassion... apparently no one had taught or nurtured those feelings in her. The empath sighed and rolled back to an empty spot at the table. "Yes... Blue is sadly also a hostage for now. I'm sorry for that. But... I feel that Mizuki has a question to ask about me. Shall we discuss it while we eat? I really did put my heart into making this for everyone. I'm sorry if it's not as good as a group of royal chefs could make either of you... but I hope it holds it's own. Afterwards, we can get you two a tour and get Chloe some more comfortable magic sealing bracelets. And... discuss things you girls probably consider far more important than food right now. Okay?"

Rosa? Rosa, come on, answer me. I know you can hear me.
No. Tired. Lemme sleep.

Guild- Blue Pegasus | Rank- C-rank| Magic- Celestial Spirit

☽❄ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ❄☾

Teal orbs cast a sidelong glance to the brunette beside her. “It isn’t so easy as that,” Mizuki responded before Chloe was able. “The King of Fiore is a good king, but that doesn’t necessarily make him the best of fathers.” She had witnessed a few moments of interaction between Chloe and the king. While he did not shoo her from his sight like one would an eyesore, he also did not take the time to interact with his eldest daughter on more than a cursory level. Of course, Mizuki dared not speak for the Fioran princess. It was she who would decide how much to reveal about the relationship, or lack thereof, with her father. The Eridani princess merely wished to provide a secondary point of view on the matter. Truth be told, of the three women currently in the dining room, she recognized and counted herself immensely lucky. Her father may have become overprotective after the incident when she was a child, but he never shut himself away from her or her siblings as Chloe’s father had. Nor too had he vanished as it seemed Rosa’s had done. Mizuki’s face contorted in a grimace. Why would a father leave his child in such a state? The answer was not long in coming. His departure coincided with her fear of wolves. Her tale spoke to the ferocity of a father’s love; yet, upon the same stroke, it told of the terror caused when one loses himself to power and lust, instilling fear in the very person whom he tried to protect. “It’s not dumb,” the teenager shook her head. “What you witnessed could well have been a nightmare. It’s not the fear itself that’s your issue. It’s the inability to move past it that is. From what I can tell, though, you’re trying in your own ways to do that. Even allowing Blue to lick your hand as she is is a big step. Maybe try to do something like that more often to build your tolerance?” She did not fully know why she offered up her advice to the redhead. Rosa remained, by all intents and purposes, their enemy. Yet she was kinder than the others and bore a more open attitude towards them. While Mizuki would maintain caution around her, it had become easier to settle within her presence.

That ease and pleasance was not to last, however. The tide of the conversation turned towards the dark doings of the guild, of the suffering and sorrow wrought by its members. Mizuki had been forced to witness the terror in part. She did not doubt her dreams would be haunted by the lifeless eyes of that poor woman for months to come. Even now, as she stood rooted to her spot, glaring through tears, her face floated before her, contorted in a silent scream. Rosa questioned her sincerity and honesty of the occurrence, wheeling closer to her and staring into her gaze for the first time since the princess’s arrival. Her stomach churned and her fists clenched. Anger at the mere suggestion she would concoct such a horrid tale rose and writhed within her chest. “No,” she managed to speak calmly enough. “I don’t like lying. I do my best to avoid it. Even so, I wouldn’t lie about something like this. Your Master is a monster, pure and simple. She murdered the woman in cold blood. A woman already trapped by Evelyn’s shadows, defenseless and trying to protect her son. Do you want to know why Evelyn targeted her specifically?” Mizuki paused for effect. “Because she was reassuring her son everything would be all right. That is the sort of woman you’ve put your faith in. That’s where you’ve placed your allegiance.” Tears continued to stream down her cheeks. Choking back an anguished sob, the younger teenager used the sleeve of her blouse to wipe at her eyes. It was an action brought to a halt by Rosa’s behest. Lowering her arm slightly, Mizuki looked curiously at the woman, attempting to figure out what trickery might lay in her beseech. There was nothing to be found. No hint of betrayal or deception to be seen. Slowly, reluctantly, not entirely sure as to why, she inched her hand towards Rosa for her to take. “What are you going to do?” Her voice trembled with emotion, hints of skepticism underlying it.

Matters were not helped with the revelation of both hers and Chloe’s childhoods. The Eridani princess disliked reliving that night but relive it she did in this moment. The fear of being held as a pawn bubbled to the surface of her psyche. Its presence amplified by the knowledge it was happening once more. Evelyn was using them to meet her personal goals, and it sickened Mizuki. “Everyone has a past. Some happier than others. Trying to compare one to the other only brings about jealousy and hatred. We all face our own demons in our ways. Chloe’s way of dealing with hers isn’t necessarily right but nobody’s really ever tried to help her either.” Indeed, she remembered well the whispered advice given to her by a few staff members during her visits to the Fioran palace. Much of which was to abandon Chloe lest her materialistic ways taint the younger princess. Very few desired to defend their princess, and even fewer sought to correct her. Chloe was not solely responsible for the person she had become. She had been abandoned by those meant to guide her, even if not physically so. Perhaps that is why Mizuki strove to befriend her as she had. There was potential within the brunette. It was latent, hard to find, but it was there nonetheless. “Hmph,” she gave a dry chuckle. “I guess you could attribute it to that. I’ve always thought my training as heir the cause.” She shrugged her shoulders, addressing the question of her scar soon after, “Thank you but I’ll pass. It’s like you said. I consider it an important part of who I am. Granted, it can be a troublesome part, but I would rather keep it.” With a dip of her head, the Celestial Spirit mage slid into her seat at the table. It came as no shock to her that Blue would also be considered a hostage. The wolf was a clever method of control. Evelyn simply need threaten Blue to gain the elder princess’s cooperation. We’ve got to figure something out… For now, however, they would have to abide by the Guild Master’s terms and rules. “I don’t think we have a choice,” Mizuki glanced pointedly at Rosa while picking up the appropriate utensil. “And I do,” she sighed, turning her head to peer more fully at the other, “What we experienced a minute ago…that wasn’t just our emotions, was it?” Some of it had been theirs, of course, though there were other feelings the princess had never experienced so vividly. “You’re an empath.”
