Odd as it may have sounded, Aurora was beyond grateful that neither Ashara or James offered her a hand up. Perhaps it seemed inconsiderate on their behalf, but maybe they'd been around the poor clutz of a girl long enough to know that bringing attention to such a dynamic failure would only make the situation far worse. As if she weren't red enough, taking note of her little tumble, even in an act of kindness to help her out, would multiply that blush of hers tenfold. Not to mention chances of her taking another tumble would skyrocket. It seemed the more nervous and embarrassed she got, the more her agility declined. Truly it wasn't the best combination because even the slightest slip up could be cause for a total downward spiral. Whatever hypothesis Ashara was conducting in the confines of her own thoughts might not have been all that far off, for as useless as the floundering girl seemed at the moment, she always seemed to be a resource on the field. Looking at her now, pink-cheeked on her hands and knees, it was hard to believe she could be anything more or less than a liability, but she always seemed to manage when it mattered most. Taking a moment to collect herself, oceanic orbs would peer out at the restless crowd swarming the street. It was a bit unnerving watching it all, listening to the lies the man in the center was spewing, watching as the blonde woman tried and failed several times to diffuse the situation. It was a disaster waiting to happen and yet she couldn't manage to tear her gaze away. By the time she'd managed to push herself to her feet and return her attention to them, her face was no longer red, but starkly white with unease.

Her momentary lapse of her usual timid ways was shortlived. However, the girl would let out a faint sound that one might guess was a laugh at James's well placed joke. Rori had always been a quiet girl, timid and shy. The real nerves and anxiety hadn't set in until years ago when her life had done a complete flip flop and she was submitted to torture device that were better left unspoken. Before that, she'd always loved to read. It was a pastime she still enjoyed, though hardly had the time for it. Even so, the Harry Potter series had always held a special place in her heart. It seemed James had managed to uncover more about her with these silly references than he had with the bombardment of questions... which weren't quite over it seemed. "I-I um..." A deer caught in the headlights, baby-blues wide with shock, her mouth nearly hanging open as she tripped and stumbled over her own words. She attempted to force an answer out, but the words just kept catching in her throat. The lingering silence of course brought that blush creeping back into her cheeks. Relief washed over her when Ashara stepped in, taking both the spotlight and some of the pressure off her. Despite her nerves and embarrassment, Rori could help the excitement that swelled inside her at the mention of the tasty treat Ashara promised to make them. Still unable to form words, instead she'd give her head a quick nod, a small smile tugging on her lips. Considering the girl's nature, that was answer enough. Perhaps she'd had a desert like that before, but it would have been long ago and such a delicacy would truly be looked forward too. Especially with the mess just outside their alley. Content to sit back and let the other two do the talking, she couldn't help another small laugh at Ashara's teasing and James's joking rebuttal. "Future wizard. You're not all that scary yet." The correction would be soft, barely audible, but once again she was minus her usual stutter as she commented on the fact that he hadn't actually attended Hogwarts yet. There was a hint of a smirk on her lips, cerulean orbs glancing upwards but not quite meeting his gaze, but peering through her lashes instead.

Falling back into silence, the fun and games would have to come to an end as the situation in the streets grew more dire. Ash had a good point. They couldn't let him keep talking and causing all this unrest, but attacking him would surely cause a riot. Once again sapphire hues would scan the area, searching for a solution of some kind. Her search was rendered useless before she even cam to a solution as sever loud bangs cracked through the air like a whip. In her typical Rori fashion, she'd nearly jump out of her own skin, but the embarrassment that would usually follow such an incident never came. There wasn't room for it with the dread swelling in her chest. Blue eyes widened as she watched the crowd before them break into complete chaos, several brawls breaking out in the middle of the road. Whatever peaceful solution she had been looking for was long gone now. Then again, the chances that this would have been settled peacefully were pretty far fetched anyway. Perhaps she should have jumped without hesitation, but that was very much unlike the tiny girl before them. Instead, just like James, she looked to Ashara. She held no real leadership over their little team, but Rori and James seemed to look to her for direction all the same. She didn't speak her concerns, but they were written quite clearly on her face. That was perhaps a blessing for both Rori and everyone she came in contact with. While she might bot say much most the time, her expressions and body language said it all. She was an open book on that front.

Shockwave

His smile did not falter at her continued questions, nor did his confidence. He could hear the mummers in the crowd and knew his words were having the desired effect. They may not join right away, but the seeds of doubt had been planted. They would begin to question Providence and see their flaws. One above all others, he knew Providence did not have a satisfactory answer for. Why didn't they fight harder for Deviant rights? "That is the world the Dominion will create. The world Providence promised us, but did not have the will and was too weak to create. As for those who don't kneel, they will be put to work in support of the world the Dominion will build, rather than enjoying the benefits of the new world as those who willingly join us will. Life is precious...especially Deviant life, and we wish to spare as many as possible. Unfortunately for those who fight us, it is not possible to avoid bloodshed. It is a tragedy how many lives have been lost." Despite the murmuring in the crowd, his eyes did not leave the blonde who was so bold to ask her questions and not blinded by Providence. A show of honesty, openness and attentiveness in the hopes of winning her over. If he could convince her to join now, in front of this crowd, the number who would follow would increase tenfold. His smile faltered as the moment was ruined by the agitated crowd. Shockwave had lost the spotlight as the fighting started to break out. It would still be a Dominion victory, but not so large as he could have gotten had everyone still been focused on himself and Grace. "Providence attacks to silence me, knowing I speak the truth they do not wish to face." He announced. "The Dominion would not make a move without my command." He took a few steps towards Grace and held a hand towards her, though her back was currently turned to witness the brewing brawl. Those around him would deal with any attempt on his life. "In your heart, you know this to be true. Join us and help build the world of peace and understanding you dream of."

"Oh yes, I definitely remember that 25-year old that was in Harry's first year." Ash commented with a bit of an eye roll and no small amount of sarcasm. A small grin ruined the effect, while Aurora joined in, calling James a future wizard. It was nice to see the shy girl joking, laughing and joining in the conversation. For a moment it was easy to forget where they were and what they were doing. For a moment it felt like they were friends just hanging out and enjoying each others company. No war, no Dominion, no fighting. For a moment things were a little bit simpler. Her strange purple eyes took on a dangerous gleam after Jame suggested she drew a lot of Yaoi, and her mouth twisted in a mischievous grin of someone with the perfect comeback. "Perhaps I will feature you in my next Yaoi. What do you think, Aurora? We could make copies and hang it up around the base." She wasn't totally sure his comment wasn't racist but decided it was better for the group as a whole to keep that particular thought to herself. "I do have a fondness for cats." She acquiesced. Independent, ferocious and powerful, yet playful and cuddly...when they were in the mood. "I do not know how to stay so skinny when you are constantly eating."

The trio watched as Shockwave spoke. He was so close. One of the founders. Shockwave. If they could take him out here and now, it would surely turn the tide of the war. If Aurora dosed him in water, it would stop him from using his powers. She could use her portals to separate him from the others and James could use his Earth powers to stop them from following. Looking at those standing around them, Ash knew in her heart it would never work. They would be stopped before Aurora could touch him. Worse, it would play well into Shockwave's narrative if Providence struck first. James's voice cut through her thoughts. Kneeling for peace had its merits? It felt more like a punch to the stomach that one of her team would say something like that. If it hadn't been widely known he was an electrokinetic Ash would have thought he had hypnotic voice powers. James quickly tried to backtrack, but Ash wasn't buying it. There wasn't time to respond though, as shots rang out and fighting began. "That doesn't stop him from claiming we did." She ground her teeth. They were both looking to her for what to do next, though she wasn't the leader of their team in an official sense. "Use your earth powers to bring up water from the water lines for Aurora. Police use water cannons to end a riot, let us see if it works here. Then do your best to break up the crowd and separate people however you can." She wished there was a way to tell Providence from Dominion from civilians, but in a crowd like this, it was impossible to tell. They should really consider getting colours like the Crips and the Bloods. Ashara opened up a portal. The other end was right in front of the woman who had been talking to Shockwave but turned her back to him when the fighting started. To the woman, it would look like Ashara was standing right in front of her, albeit with a purple frame and the alleyway behind her instead of the street.

"Don't let his words fool you. He is talking about slavery and genocide. The kind of peace Adolf Hitler wanted to create, where one race would serve the other. Come with me if you want to stand for freedom and equality for all."

β˜†β•β”β”β”ˆ Grace Starfall β”ˆβ”β”β•β˜†

It seemed like time slowed down as Grace's eyes swept over the brawling crowd, zoning out all she could hear was ringing before snapping back at Shockwave's compelling words. Now shifting slightly to hear him out. So the Dominion would put those to work who did not kneel, it sounded a lot like slavery. The Dominion viewed Deviant's as superior. Which wasn't the ideals Grace agreed with. The girl turned her head back to the brawling crowed it made her insides churn. "How can you be so certain that someone from Providence did this? Anyone could have..." her voice lost in the madness of the crowd.

Hearing the man take steps towards her she turned back around, just in case. He extended a hand. At his last sentence Grace's eyes widen a bit before narrowing she opened her mouth to speak but heard a woman's voice. Her body turned to witness a hole? No portal? behind the unknown woman. A curious expression appeared on her face, this woman was more correct about Shockwave's statements. "I'm going to have to agree with this woman, it sounds like you are in favor of enslaving those who don't agree with your viewpoint." with that Grace went to stand next to the woman. Now facing Shockwave. Neon eyes peered over her shoulder past the purple frame of the portal to the brawling crowd "We need to try to stop the brawls, there are innocent civilians."

"Don't just go throwing people's ages out!" he said. "Haven't you ever heard that you never mention a man's age?" he asked jokingly. He looked to Rori who was peering up at him through her lashes. It was kinda cute. Though very timid she still felt comfortable to join in the fun. Even if it was at James' expense. "Not you, too, Rori!" he said throwing his hand over his eyes in feigned hurt. "I'm crushed. Hurt. And a little hungry." he said grabbing his last bar out of his pocket. "Gotta reup." he mumbled to himself. Ash shot back at James quickly after his little comment about her possible art style. "Now. Let's think about this. No need to be hasty! I got a reputation to uphold." he said a bit muffled by the food in his mouth. The threat alone sent shivers up his spine. He had no ill will towards those who were homosexual. In fact, he supported it. His biggest fear came from who she would pair him with and people getting the wrong idea. The ladies' would be disappointed if that propaganda got out.

"Eh. Cats are cool. Not the biggest fan though." he said hiding the fact that he mainly watches cute cat videos on youtube. James stared at her for a bit as he ate the bar without his hands. Slowly more of the nutrition bar disappeared before there was nothing left. With an audible gulp he responded. "It's because I'm awesome!" he smiled. "Annnnd just like that he lost me. I was cool with the peace part, but the whole slavery doesn't sit well with me!" he said shaking his head. "I just want everyone to get along." he admitted. More so to himself than his team. The rioting began as shots and screaming were heard from any reasonable distance. "You know, it's usually the good guys are blamed for the bad guys doing. So just take that as a sign that we're on the right side." he said trying to quell her anger. "You got it!" he shouted as he listened to her directive. He stamped his foot and crushed the water lines ripping the water from its metal confines. He raised both his arms chest level and gestured as if he were slowly ripping something apart. The ground began to crack and break as it was torn open. The more it tore the more stray rock fell into the pit. The more that fell the more the sounds off rocks bouncing off metal was heard.

He pivoted his foot pushing the main out of the pooling crater he created. He changed his stance and squat as he pushed upwards as if he were using his legs to lift something. The more he stood the more the waterline was pushed to the surface. With a grunt, he jolted to his max height and the main broke through the rest of the ground. With a breath of relief, he dusted his hands off. "Rori, my dear, do your thing!" he smiled. James ran to the street and observed the people identifying who were apart of each faction. "You're gonna be glad I eat so much, Ash!" he said slamming his hands on the ground. At first, nothing happened then the ground shook. The earth cracks with a scarily disgusting sound. Similar to the sound of someone breaking their legs in extremely high definition volume and quality. The crack quickly and sloppily made its way to the crowd and separated the people into pens. Some were mixed with others. Some held Providence and Dominion supporters while others help only people of their respective factions. But he couldn't get all of them. Only a good chuck to quell the riot as best he could without hurting himself or anyone else. He wiped the sweat from his forehead. Burning so many calories at once wasn't something he was used to. "I wasted quite a few calories, but this should help alot." he said to himself. He took a few deep breaths and compose himself. He ran towards Rori. "I got them boxed up pretty good, but I wasted a bit of my calories. I'm passing the baton to you for the moment." he said resting his hand on her shoulder knowing she won't disappoint. Never has. He looked to as from the alleyway and saw that she was talking to Ms. Whitelight. "She's good. But I gotta get a better vantage point!" he jumped to grab onto one of the ladders and scaled it in a hurry. "Now I can see everything." he said looking out for any type of offense to his team.

Shockwave

Most of those who did not know Shockwave well would have likely expected the male to react negatively to having Grace turn him down. They would expect him to perhaps physically stop Grace from going to stand beside the Providence agent, or maybe even attempt to kill her for choosing to stand against the Dominion. At the very least express some sort of outrage and anger. Shockwave did none of those things. "Some may call it slavery, but we've all seen those tape. That is the future that awaits Deviant kind under the leadership of Providence. Even slavery is a kindness compared to what the humans will do to us, and they won't offer an opportunity to kneel. " Chaos swirled all around them, yet Shockwave remained focused on Grace. His guards, or perhaps more aptly called his entourage, stopped the fighting from getting too close to them.

"How could Providence stop something they didn't know was happening?" Ashara argued.

"Incompetence is no excuse. How can anyone trust Providence will be more competent in the future." He returned his gaze to Grace. "If you do not wish to come with me today, I advise you look into the failings of Providence before the Dominion rose up. You will always be welcome in the Dominion."

Whatever response Ashara had was going to remain unknown. The ground started shaking violently and portal winked closed. Shockwave, once standing right in front of the two girls, was now on the other side of the street. Ashara managed to keep her feet, but it wasn't easy. The majority of people lost their footing as giant cracks opened up in the ground, splitting up the brawling mass into smaller groups. "Well...as you can see miss, my team is already working on it. Name's Ashara...you wouldn't mind me asking what if any powers you have by chance?" She was hoping for something to further quell the fighting. While James was scrambling up the ladder the shy Aurora got to work spraying water at those who took it upon themselves to pick up where they left off before the earthquake...Jamesquake.

Things, however, quickly took another turn as a large bolt of lightning came crashing down with a deafening crack of thunder. "Enough!" Shockwaves voice roared over the crowd who had now fallen silent. "This fight is over. Dominion, move out." People looked around uncertainly, but it didn't last long as part of the crowd started walking away peacefully towards the side of the street Shockwave stood. They may never know who started the fight, but Shockwave certainly ended it.

Peering down from atop the building he could see everything. He scanned the scene watching the people he had "celled" off and cautiously observed the rest of the chaos to see where he would have to act next. He trained his eyes on Ash and noticed she was talking to the great bald one himself. The portal shut and James placed his attention back onto the choas in front of him. What sound like thunder and lightning striking very close turned out to be Shockwave himself. Ended the civil unrest faster than it started. "*whistles* gotta say that was pretty good!" he smiled crossing his arms. "Still a piece of trash though." he stated as a matter of factly. He jumped off of the building and used some earth to make a floating platform and floated to Rori. "Hey how are you holding up?" he asked the blue-eyed beauty.

β˜†β•β”β”β”ˆ Grace Starfall β”ˆβ”β”β•β˜†

As Shockwave and Ashara exchanged words, Grace listened. She returned Shockwave's gaze, slight surprise crossed her eyes. The man stated she'd still be welcome in Dominion. It was surprising to her that he'd offer- and even sort of unnerving that the man didn't act out.

In a blink of an eye both girls were further away from Shckwave. Grace felt a little queasy and even stumbled back "That was weird- very helpful though!" managing out as she shook off the queasiness. Her eyes twinkled as she looked to see Ashara's team members. "Nice to meet you Ashara, I'm Grace. Yes, I do have powers over radiation- beta radiation that is." giving a smile.

That's when a large bolt hit down and a loud crackling of thunder was heard, then Shockwave's voice. Just like that fighting had stopped. Her eyes blinked rapidly "Well, I guess that solves that!" she was relieved that that was it, no one was hurt too badly it seemed. Maybe Shockwave wasn't all that bad after all. "Looks like everyone is okay, so I'm assuming you guys are with Providence?"

"Beta radiation?" Ash repeated, clearly confused. She knew radiation was the bad stuff from nuclear fallout and radioactive material that really messed you up, or was sometimes used to treat cancer. She had no clue what it meant as far as what Grace could do power-wise and if it could help break up the riot. Before she could ask lightning came down from the heavens in a large pillar, and thunder roared out, sending a shockwave in all directions. The Dominion founder shouted for them to stand down, and Ash couldn't help but scowl. She should probably be happy about the lives that were just saved, but she wasn't happy that Shockwave was the one to do it. She nodded when Grace asked if they were Providence. "James, Aurora and I are part of team running missions together." She gestured over to her two teammates. "I'm sorry about your peace demonstration, but I have to ask. Weren't you worried a fight would break out?" It was an admirable cause. Ash would love for there to be peace as well, but it didn't seem realistic unless one side beat the other. "Would you like to come back to our base with us?"

Rori seemed fine. She had hardly gotten started when Shockwave put an end to the fight. She wasn't injured, or even tired really. "Good, how about yourself?" She asked James who floated down to her on an earthen platform. "You must be pretty tired after breaking up the street like that. Good thinking though."

"Let's just say it burns." Grace stated with a smile, her pale gaze then went to the two figures Ashara jestered to. So they were mission partners, she figured that both sides would be around with the peace demonstration going on. "It's alright." she sighed "There usually are small spats at these kinds of events, I tend to always worry about fights breaking out; that isn't our message. Hopefully one day this will all be over with." With Ashara's question Grace's expression showed uncertainty. She told herself she wouldn't chose a side, both had faults although Providence was clearly better, they did have there own issues sure, but she knew they were better. "If that's alright, it is time for me to pick a side."

"Me? I'm perfectly fine! I feel so good I could take on Dominion all on my own. Twice over!" He smiled at Rori and stuck out his chest. "Well, I ain't just a pretty face. I got a brain in here you know?" he laughed. As he laughed at himself his inner demon spoke. A loud grumble from his stomach emerged from deep within him. "Ok. I may have lied earlier when I said I was fine. That... Jamesquake took alot out of me." he whispered to her getting unnecessarily close for no reason. And on purpose. "But! We can all get something the eat once we talk to the Snow Queen over there!" he said tossing Rori onto his shoulder and walking to Ash and Grace. "Yo!" he smiled. "I saw Ash point at us so I thought we'd come over and introduce ourselves. I'm James!" he said pointing to himself with his thumb. "And this..." he turned around his back facing them, but could see Rori's face. "and this is Rori." he spoke over his shoulder. He set her down on her feet and turned around. "Nice to meet you!" he smiled.

"We'll be glad to have you on board!" Ash grinned, apparently gaining them a new recruit. Naturally, Grace would need to pass the screening process before officially becoming a member, but Ash had a hard time imagining Grace as a Dominion spy. Ashara mentally facepalmed when she spotted James walking towards them with Rori slung over his shoulder. While she stopped herself from physically facepalming she did sigh and close her eyes for a few seconds, as if that would make what was happening to disappear. Poor Rori, Ashara thought as James turned to show Rori's flaming red face. It was time to rescue the woman. "Grace has agreed to join us." Ash opened up another portal just off to the side. The building Providence was using for their base here would be visible through it. Ones stepped through they would find themselves just outside a large chain link fence with a gate and a guardhouse. Not that the chainlink fence would stop most people with powers, but it was a way to define the area. Any portals opened up on the inside of that fence would be assumed hostile. Then she stepped through while motioning Grace ad James to follow.

All this commotion, all this tension, all this chaos, but she was ready. Determined even, it could he seen in the slightest changes of her demeanor. The way soft blue hues hardened, peering out at the crowd from beneath dark lashes and furrowed brows. The way the awkwardness seemed to drain from her body, and instead she held herself with a sort of grace that she only ever showed in the face of a fight. Hands extended in front of her, almost like a conductor ready to lead a symphony in the finest of masterpieces. Only she wasn't commanding a group of musical artists, instead she was calling to the water James had unleashed from the water lines deep below. The raising of a slender arm, the twitch of delicate fingers, it responded to her just as easily as an orchestra would. Each movement was small, barely noticeable if you weren't watching carefully. The soft flare of her nostrils as she took in a long slow breath, the gentle fall of her chest as she let it all out. The flutter of dark locks caught on the wind. All around her the water began rising, forming into long tendrils like the many arms of an octopus. They swirled around her, ready to defend and attack at the flick if a wrist. Aurora was much to small to look intimidating. There was an innocence about her that made it hard to find her even remotely terrifying. Yet, for the first time that day she looked like a warrior that was capable of more than injuring herself on part of her own clumsiness.

A deafening roar split the sky, like the growl of some ethereal beast slamming itself against the gates of heaven. The thunder rumbles through the streets, reverberating through her bones. It was a sound that under normal circumstances would have caused Rori to jump right out of her skin. However, while her heart skipped a before before lurching forward and racing like an anxious bird trapped within the confines of her chest, she remained still. Sapphire orbs watched as Shockwave called off his dominion soldiers, and then just like that it was over and done with. Rori blink several times in confused surprise. Once she was sure it wasn't just some sort of trick, she let her hands fall back to her side and with that, so did the water. In hindsight, that might not have been the best idea. It came crashing down, splashing up around her, leaving both her clothes and her hair spotted with water. Just like that she was back to her usual self, that being timid and awkward. She was no longer a warrior or a worthy combatant, she was just Rori. Small and shy. It was like she collapsed in on herself, trying to make herself as small and unnoticeable as possible, letting dark locks fall over her face and conceal her features as she started down at her feet and the water droplets that clung to her boots.

As was most natural for the shy girl, she jumped slightly as James landed back on the ground beside her. As blue eyes came up to meet chocolate orbs, a small smile would tug at corners of her mouth at his comment. "Beauty and brains them, you've got it all." The girl was soft spoken, even as she tried to poke fun at him. At least she hadn't stumbled over her words and made a mess of it like she often did. He was talking again, but as he was talking he leaned in closer, causing her breath to catch in her throat. Their noses just inches a part. It made it hard to focus on his words, and if she was honest she had really only caught the last of it. Already the heat was creeping back into her face, painting her pale face a nice rosy shade. The poor girl was too nervous to bring herself to look at the man, let alone say something. She just hoped he didn't notice. She wondered if he could hear her heart pounding frantically in her chest at this distance, which only caused her face to flood with more color. Forcing herself to take a deep breath, in and out, she worked on trying to compose herself and come up with some sort of a response. He had something about being hungry, which truth be told she wasn't sure where he kept it all. Reaching behind her, she unzipped a puch on the bag slung across her shoulders. From it she would pull out a protein bar, much like the ones James had been munching on earlier. Aurora had known James long enough to know that he was always hungry, and that he always ran out of food. She'd taken to bringing along extras for him. "To tide you--" She'd opened her mouth to speak, but before she could get all of the words out of her mouth, he'd swept her up off her feet and over his shoulder. A small, surprised squeal escaped through her lips before she could think to stop it. Immediate regret washed over her at how ridiculous she sounded and she clamped her mouth shut. Her face, which had just returned to a normal shade, was flooded with red again and the blush crept up her neck and into her cheeks. Letting her head drop, she would surrender to her own embarrassment, letting her dark hair fall over her shoulders and conceal her red cheeks.

Heart racing forward, a small humming bird flapping frantically, wings brushing against her ribcage as it tried to escape, the girl couldn't bring herself to look up at Ash or their newly found ally. About all she could muster up was a small wave of her hand. As James set her back down on her feet, she would stumble slightly. She did manage to catch herself before she actually fell over though. As her face cooled slightly, she would reach up and brush her hair out of her face, delicately tucking it behind her ears. She would look at Grace for the first time, managing a timid, yet friendly smile. "G-good to meet you." Her voice was quieter and quivered more than usual, but really the fact that she had managed to speak at all was an impressive feat for Rori. After all, she'd known Ash and James for a while now and still often fell victim to her own nerves. Grace was a stranger, and it would take the girl time to grow accustomed. She was trying though, and she hoped that counted for something. As Ash opened up a portal beside them, revealing through it the familiar building of the providence headquarters, she would step through it carefully. She could still remember the first time she used one of Ash's portals. It was an odd sensation, like stepping through the surface of mirror. Just like that, in seconds, you could find yourself miles away from where you once were. It was rather useful, definitely better than the alternative. Catching her balance on the other side, Rori would stand just outside the chain link fence, waiting for the others.

"Aye, look at that! Finally, someone recognizes me for my true talents!" he said holding his head up high with a chuckle. Her face was getting pretty red, which he knew would happen. She gets easily flustered and shy around people. Especially in close quarters. He thought he could hear her heartbeat, but she couldn't be that nervous... could she? Nah! Before Rori could give James the spare food she brought she was already over his shoulder. He could feel her heart pounding against his shoulder and he couldn't help but find it hilarious. Not that he enjoyed torturing the poor girl, but he wouldn't say he didn't find it the least bit enjoyable. After introductions, he was elated to hear they got another person on their side. "Sweeeet! We're that much closer to overpowering that loud milkdud!" he said fist-pumping. "Right, Ro...ri?" he said turning to find the girl and saw nothing. Not even a blinking outline. "Uh... where did she...g-OH!" he realized after seeing a portal. "I'm lucky I'm so handsome!" he joked. His stomach growled and he placed a shaky hand on it. "Ash, there better be something to eat on the other side of this!" he exclaimed jumping through. Once on the other side he hit a chainlink fence face first. "...ow..." he said monotonously. He picked himself up and rubbed his face. He opened his eyes and noticed there were at base. "Yes! We can eat something! My treat, but you have to bring your own money! And pay! For me, too!" he laughed. "So, Ash, real quick... are we getting a forth on the team? Three is an unlucky number. If you believe in that kind of thing." he said nervously looking no one in the eye

Was this really her team? Ashara paused midstep as she witnessed James run face-first into a fence on the other side of the portal she had created. For as clumsy as Rori was, James matched her in being completely oblivious to his surroundings. Yet somehow they always managed to pull through when it counted. She wondered what the Dominion would think if they ever saw the trio in their downtime. Surely it would be demoralizing to know they had been bested by such a group. Slowly, Ash put her foot down while James got back up from the ground. "You make it through a riot without a scratch only to be bested by a fence?" She asked, mostly rhetorically while shaking her head in disbelief. Now that they were all through Ash closed the portal behind her, the scene from the destroyed street winking out behind her. "You know the drill. Gotta go through debrief first then you can eat. You might want to take up Rori on that energy bar." She knew Rori didn't have that bar gripped in her hand for herself.

Ash started heading towards the gate and security office, waving for the others to follow, but mostly for Grace who had never been here before. "I have never heard of three being an unlucky number. In my culture, four is unlucky." She grinned a bit at James. Not that Ash had grown up in 'her culture', but she did have a phase where she was curious about where she had come from and done a lot of research. "Besides, I'm not sure a new person would be able to handle our strangle functional, dysfunctional team. It might through our whole grove off." She stopped just before the gate. "You two go ahead. I'll get Grace settled in and then meet you at the mess hall."
