Ducky, Daiki, Katsu and Lucina arrived in the gardens of a very fancy looking palace. The garden was rather pretty, too, with mazes and interestingly shaped hedges. Dakota felt a bit odd being at such a high class place, but he was hoping that it would lead to having plenty of fun and meeting interesting people. For a brief moment, he felt a bit flustered at the idea of entering the ballroom that was bound to be full of people dressed to the nines. Sure, he's done plenty of new activities before in situations of all kinds, but couldn't help but feel he was bound to be judged here. Sure, he was dressed formally, and knew how to keep a polite manner. A hand on his shoulder chased those thoughts away. "Who would have thought that you would actually care so much about what others thought of you. You are rather surprising, Dakota. Just take a moment or two to relax in the garden, and I'm sure you'll be full of confidence once more." Lucina spoke directly to her newest companion. Ducky managed a small smile, a bit grateful for the words. He should take advantage of appearing in the gardens to adjust before entering the bustling ballroom.

Had Ko been heading in that direction to reunite with him before something had happened? If that was the cause it made more sense to assume she hadn't simply walked off but had rather been forced to leave for one reason or another. Atona was reassuring Dallas that he trusted the fact that the boy wasn't inherently a bad person in spite of his questionable aura. At the very least, Dallas didn't plan on hurting Isis, and likely wouldn't in the future, either.
Speaking of auras, Atona noticed the rather strange one Susan had. Barring her struggle to explain on intelligent terms, Atona felt he understood what she was saying. A dragon typing could certainly be some sort of mutation. "Well, it certainly makes you unique." Atona complimented.
Soon enough, Isis had to leave the area in favor of a more secluded and quieter spot for her interview with Austin, and the group effectively parted ways for the time being. Atona attempted to smile as Susan wished him luck "sitting on the babies" but it ended up a grimace instead as he felt pulled into an awkward situation. It didn't help that now Isis' cousins were now gawking up at him when he offered a bite to eat. "Yes, I'm talking to you." Atona insisted patiently, though he couldn't help giving a light sigh. "How interesting." Wei smiled. "Good luck with that." Looking between the Jirachi on his shoulder to the young Rahvok, Wei felt her head tilt to the side with a confused expression in her eyes. A shot? Well, she'd had plenty of those, but did she get the one the Zoroa had mentioned? Once a year a doctor would travel to the small village that Wei lived in, traveling only halfway up the mountain, where the monks would meet him and each of them would get poked with needles. Wei remembered disliking it at first, but after she turned ten, the monks introduced her to acupuncture, a healing technique that utilized needles, after awhile she grew to love the sensation of a well placed poke from a needle. "I'm sure it will be fine." She waved her hand up and down, as if fanning away the negative thoughts.

Susan was perplexed, as she wanted to go run in the flowers and bushes, but didn't want to mess up her outfit. So, in an attempt to suppress both of their urges, they stuck together, and followed their trainer around for the time being.

"Well, I can attest that I was very confident when I registered and sent my message off to you. But I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't shaking with anticipation while I prepared. She'll not go easily either." He remarked and with that the three pokemon spread out in search of the Gekkit.

Wei was taken by surprise when one of Ohmarow's Pokemon popped out from it's ball, and quickly darted back into the maze. She nodded her head in response to his worried words. "I can help." She replied, but before an answer could be given, he was gone. His Pokemon all dividing to go in different directions within the maze. Perhaps he didn't want her help? Not everyone looked kindly to a helping hand. Letting out a sigh, the young woman was about to turn around, but... then she felt something approach. Not long after her feeling was justified as a man spoke to her from behind. Turning on her heal, she offered him a smile. "I'm sorry, but I don't." Oblivious to the pick-up line until a moment after she registered what he'd said. It was to late to really react to the... compliment. But something told her this was one of those 'boys are bad' moments the Monk's had warned her about before she left the temple.
Observing the man for that brief moment, she noted he was finely dressed, but his hair was tied up, making her think of some of the men she'd seen in her books when she was younger and read illustrated books. The monks at the temple, and the men that occasionally came up the mountain all had their hair shaved completely off, or in a shorter style that didn't warrant a hair-tie. "If I've learned anything growing up, it's that I strive in the face of adversity," he chimed in, on the subject of environments. The thug in disguise had a few thoughts zoom through his brain, of gang fights and shakedowns and the array of unsavory things that could occur in a detention center, but he never let it show on his face. " I suppose it's no different than a Poke'mon battle: you can't strive to be a Master if you never step out of your tier of expertise. No risk, no reward, and all that."
Austin was asking cool, but for some reason, when Isis said that people were rooting for him, he actually felt a bit of redness warm up his cheeks. He was surprised, to say the least. Austin paused for a moment, but soon caught himself. "Oh, I-I apologize...I suppose I'm still not used to the idea of having anyone wanting me to succeed." The feeling really warmed the violent young man's heart. Ah jeez! Get a grip, man, it's just a journalist trying to fluff you up- wait, did she call me her friend? Normally, Ducky would just try a new, better line, seeing as his first attempt essentially flew over her head. However, as she turned around, Ducky felt a chill up his spine, left staring at her face. "M-m-" he uttered in astonishment, followed by incoherent sounds of confusion. "Mom?!?" he finished in his head, staring wide-eyed. This girl looked so much like mom, now that he was seeing her face. It was a striking, and frightening, resemblance. She was obviously and definitely not his mom but she was the spitting image of a younger version of his mom. That alone was enough to scar him off of his pursuit. "Etto... You've got a cuter face than I expected, heheheh..." he tried to save face awkwardly. He suddenly had a really bad feeling about this encounter. Ducky scrambled about mentally to try and come up with something to say.
"Dakota. Are you alright?" Lucina had taken notice of the confused and panicked aura of her travel companion, approaching to stand by his side. Daiki was left abandoned, still seeming to be fuming a bit over his argument. Though, the illusion fox seemed to quickly get over it as he took interest in watching some other people in the garden. "I'm fine... i think..." he replied to her. "... were you harassing this young lady?"Wh-what?!? No!" Ducky exclaimed out loud, staring at the gardevoir, but then panicked a bit more as he realized he had answered her verbally in front of the blond female.
Katsu came over to investigate the commotion, though as he grew closer his blue eyes regarded Wei quite intently. "A lady Suanni. It is a pleasure to meet you." Katsu greeted as if it was the most casual thing ever. Wait what?!? Ducky was mortified once he registered what the disguised solgaleo had said. "S-suanni?? You mean she's... She can't be related to me, can she?!?" Ducky questioned the legendary, his voice a bit squeaky purely out of embarrassment. He had used such a terrible pick up line... and this girl was related to him? He felt a bit sick as he recalled how he had been staring at her butt earlier. "Indeed she is. She has the blood of a Suanni." Katsu reaffirmed, having leaned forward to sniff at Wei. His actions had seemed incredibly weird with the current illusion, but Ducky was too dizzy from this sudden information to say something about it. Ducky asked, trying to sort out the mess of emotions he was feeling. To say Wei was confused would be an understatement. From the moment she'd turned around and saw the male before her she was confused. But now she was twice as confused as before. He seemed far less confident than he did earlier. Commenting her beauty once more, she felt a warmth come to her cheeks, her eyes widening once more, though the moment was short lived when a rather beautiful Gardevoir approached, seemingly saying something to male to make him stammer. Wei was feeling more and more like perhaps she should step away from this male, feeling perhaps she'd come before one of those kinds of boys the Monks had warned her about. Crazies that pretended to be nice, only to hurt you in the end.
But as the blonde found her feet once more to move, another male approached. This one seemed far different. His appearance, his posture, he appeared regal.. like a king she'd seen illustrations of in story books. Her eyes were glued to his appearance, his words more so caught her by surprise. As if being controlled by a puppet master, Wei bowed forward, though her eyes never left the blonde male. 'Suanni? Where have I heard that word before?' She wondered. The crazy male who'd first approached her replied, forcing Wei's head to tilt once she'd come up from her bow. "Related?" Could it be? Fate worked in mysterious ways, she knew that far better than most. So far she'd have several fated encounters... to think her search for family, for blood relatives, would come so quickly. It was almost to good to be true. She imagined in her head, what the rest of her family likely looked like, given the male's appearance... tall, black hair... would others have blonde hair like her? Come to think of it, they both had blue eyes.
Before she knew it, the male had once more addressed her. 'ei... Wei... WEI!' Sucking in some hair, the blonde blinked her eyes, looking down quickly. Fen was floating just a bit over the air tugging at her dress. 'He asked you a question.' She added. "Oh? Oh... umm.. Sorry but, could you-" 'Oh, Wei...' Fen shook her head. 'He asked if you were from Johto, if you knew the name Koizumi.' She offered. "Koizumi?" Fen nodded, turning away to rejoin her sister. Looking up the blonde shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I'm not." She replied. "But.. if what that man says is true... I've been looking for my family. Blood that I have yet to meet." She replied. "My name is Wei Feng Song, but that name was given to me by the monks of the Shu Feng Temple in China." A weak smile managed to return to Wei's lips. "I was told the woman who'd left me with the monks haled from Johto, however. She had blonde hair, like mine." Wei continued, pulling forward her long pony tail to show her soft golden hair.
As the twins had returned, both had bowed in greeting to the Gardevoir that seemed to be a traveling companion of this pony-tailed man, though Fen quickly went to break Wei from her thoughts, Lan se stayed behind, looking up the pretty Gardevoir. 'You're pretty...' Lan se muttered, holding up a hand to mess with the tips of her own hair. 'Yea, you look like a goddess!' Fen added as she returned to her sisters side. Lan se seemed to turn away shyly, but Fen continued to look up at the Gardevoir with a sparkle in her hidden eyes.

One that also meant misfortune. One could not thrive from adversity without first having the need to do so. Isis' suspicions only grew as Austin admitted to not being used to having people want him to succeed. Isis frowned, looking rather concerned. She didn't see how anyone wouldn't want to support him. He was so passionate and ambitious that it practically forced people to respect him, if only for that reason alone. But not for Isis. She saw more in him, even if she couldn't quite describe what or why. She supposed she just knew that he needed someone to believe in him the way he believed in himself. ”It's okay~ But you'd better get used to it soon, cause you're gonna go places and do great things. I just know it!" Isis grinned. Sure maybe it was a little cheesy—lord, Leon was rubbing off on her, wasn't he?—but it was the truth.

As Austin commented on the people he'd met, Isis included—she had to giggle a bit at that—he seemed to appreciate and agree to her offer of help in wooing someone should he need it. ”Aw man!
