Dorian wasn't surprised that Clover was empathetic towards the girl. She had always had a soft heart from what he had noticed. "Yeah, it had to have been hard on her. It was a bit hard going through losing my grandmother, but I would think losing a parent would be worse."
Dorian could tell that Clover wasn't really sure what to say to his long drawn out explanation of fear and it not being a weakness. "Hey, if it helps you realize that it's not a bad thing, I'm glad I was able to help. I may have ad-libbed part of it from some stuff I've read, so it may sound familiar to you." He admitted.
Dorian nodded, watching her as she looked over the handkerchief. He knew she probably had changed the subject because she wanted to talk about other things. "I do have some pretty talented cousins." He said with a smile.
He slowly got up from the bench feeling strangely nervous as he moved to sit down next to her. It was odd that he was so suddenly feeling off by being close to her. Up until that kiss he had never thought their close friendship was awkward. He settled on the love seat next to her, trying to figure out where to put his arms. It was a bit of a tight fit and their arms kept rubbing and bumping against each other.
"Maybe..I should, uh move my arm behind you like this." He said and moved his left arm up behind her head on the couch. "So, I know you said you didn't intend to kiss me before, but I can't stop thinking about it." He confessed blushing slightly. "C-can I kiss you properly?"
He glanced over at her bright green eyes intently biting on his lip again hoping that she'd not think his request too odd. He felt extremely awkward and nervous. He hadn't realized just how much he had liked Clover and wanted more with her than just friendship. He rather hoped that she might feel the same way.

Clover blinked he'd lost his grandmother? "Which one? I thought one of them was living with your family." she said a little shocked trying to remember what she knew about his family.
She nodded, though still quite embarrassed about her fear, that wasn't going to be something someone just got over. Even if she did know the why.
"It's nice having a large family." she agreed, though not really thinking about her father's side.
She blushed some as he tried to figure out how to sit a bit better. He wanted to kiss again! He did say that, that first was nice. "I've had a crush on you for a bit... I just never acted on it... because I didn't want to be disappointed." She said her cheeks felt like they were burning. "I didn't mean to kiss you but would like a proper one." she admitted.

Dorian glanced over at her surprised look. "My mother's mother died when i was..six or seven. I was actually in the room when it happened. I was sure I told you this awhile back. It's how I can see the thestrals that pull the carriages." He explained. "My father's parents do live with us, I spend more time with them then my own father theses days."
He was pretty sure he had told her this before, but maybe he was wrong. He hated the thought that he might not have. She confided a lot in him, it would be silly to not tell her something like that. They'd known each other for four years now, he told her pretty much everything. She was his closest friend he realized, other than his roommates that was.
Dorian felt a wave of happiness go through him whens he told him she had a crush on him. It was kind of perfect. He had felt these odd feelings about her for awhile now. "Did you think I didn't like you back in that way? Cause I have been feeling similar," He admitted. "I didn't want to ruin our friendship," He added.
He leaned in closer to her, and gently touched the side of her face before placing his lips against hers and pressing a gentle kiss to her lips. He let out a soft sigh and relaxed a bit more, letting the kiss deepen slightly before pulling back to look at her closely. "Wow," He said feeling all sort of emotions rushing through him. "That was..wow."

Clover nodded, "You made it sound like the death were resent, so I guess jumped ahead of myself." she admitted a bit embarrassed. "So I thought it was your dad's side..."
"A little." she admitted, "but I was also afraid of any family obligations... you might have, be it now or in the future." she whispered
She felt a bit of a rush from the kiss and started kissing him in turn. After they relaxed a bit it felt then he pulled away. It felt a little too soon but it was defnently better then that peck earlier. "Nice." she finished feeling quite a bit better just because of that kiss.

Dorian felt a bit badly for making her think it had been more recent. "Oh sorry about that. I probably should have made that clearer. It's okay. Well..my great-grandmother on my dad's side passed..but that was longer ago."
"Family obligations? Oh like being betrothed? Thankfully my father's not so big on that sort of thing. He's already said that he'd prefer me to find love the natural way and be free to pursue the person I love. I'm kind of glad he's the type to have an open mind about those sort of things."
Dorian smiled wide at her word. "It was pretty nice." He said softly. He bit on his bottom lip again. "Do you want to try it some more?"

Clover nodded, "Well at least I asked for clarification." she said a bit glad that she had. She was never one to take rumors till she talked to the person to which they were about, Well other then the one about their being a kid in a wheelchair last year, but that was easy to see.
Clover nodded, "That's good, I know wealthy pureblood families still did that. Not that I agree with it. I'm sure Grand-mum would have done the same for my dad had he been a girl." she said, "I guess knowing that families still do them got me scared." she confessed.
"After two kisses, even if one was by accident." her heart pounded as she spoke the words. "You don't need to keep asking. Besides, Who would walk in on us?" she asked. before starting to already lean into the next kiss.

Dorian smiled at her and nodded. "That's one of the things I like about you. You don't believe rumors or try to spread them. You make sure to find out the truth. Especially when it comes to friends. Some people just jump on the rumor mill and make it even worse."
Dorian couldn't help but shake his head a bit. "I think my dad's family is one of the rare ones that doesn't do that. I've noticed some of the other slytherins shooting me odd looks and saying mean things but I try to ignore it mostly. I really don't care what they might think."
He turned to take her hand when she confessed that it had made her scared. "I wish I had told you sooner. I hate thinking that it made you feel that way."
Dorian's face flushed at her words and he could feel his heart pound as he realized what she was saying. "Okay, I get what you're saying." He said with a smile and met her lips again. This kiss was quite a bit longer than the last one. He had the oddest feeling that he would never get enough of kissing her.

Clover blushed some, "Yeah." she agreed
Clover nodded, "We've always been kind of odd birds out." she agreed
"It's not your fault. I guess Grand-mum's kind of got me palinode about things like that. when it comes to the higher families. I feel bad for those forced into a loveless marriage. Like they are royals or something like that. I always got the feeling she'd try to put me in with some rich pure family if she got her way, I'd wear her old dresses. She was a lot smaller then I was and my ribs always hurt wen she puts me in them. That is kind of why she became so nice to you when she found out your last name.... sorry again about that."
This kiss washed any bad feeling that was lingering away, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. So she could get as close as she could without being so informal. One thing was for sure, after this going back to just being friends would be hard. She never wanted to go back or worse, she wanted to grow closer to Dorian.

Dorian smiled back at her. "Well they do say birds of a feather flock together,"
"Ah, well I'm sorry that she makes you paranoid. I've seen some loveless marriages and they really seem terrible to me. People shouldn't be forced into marrying people they can barely stand." He said shaking his head.
"It's kind of odd that she'd try to make you wear her old clothes that are too small for you. You'd think she'd want you to wear things that actually fit you. I'm kind of used to some people doing that, so don't worry about it. I'm kind of used to it by now. I can normally tell when someone is being genuine or faking it. You don't have anything to be sorry about. I could tell why you might be embarrassed though." He said giving her a sympathetic look.
He was a bit surprised when her arms moved to wrap around his neck and she held onto him as they kissed. He had a feeling that things were definitely going to change and for the better. When their kiss finally ended, he ran his hand down the side of her head through her soft hair. "Clover, what do you think about, uh, being my girlfriend? I really like you and I would like to be your boyfriend."

Clover chuckled a little at his joke. "Yeah they do."
"Yes that is true, For some reason she thinks I'm the same size as she was when she was my age. I know, she's just won't listen to reason... at least from me.... then again I've learned to you know not listen to her when I'm listening to her. I was so tired of listing her insult Ma behind her back. I guess she's trying to erase that side of me or something. I don't know how Ma was able to marry Dad even with Grand-mum saying she was no good." she sighed.
She blushed and nodded, "Yes I'll go from being your girl friend to your girlfriend." she said giggling a little, "Thanks... for helping me." she added.

Dorian was glad that he had been able lighten up Clover's mood with his joke.
He felt a bit sad for Clover that her grandmother was so delusional about her granddaughter and forced her to do thing she didn't want to do. He hoped that one day Clover would be able to get the older woman to listen. He sighed, recalling hearing a few things her grandmother had said about her when he had met the woman before the term had started.
"Well maybe your father didn't care what his mother thought and married her because he loved her." Dorian said thoughtfully. "Maybe she's wanting to have more control over you because she could't control her son as much as she wanted to."
Dorian smiled back at her, not minding her joke. He was just glad that he had been able to give her a much more memorable day than it had started out. "Good, that's the best news I've had in a long time." He said and leaned in to kiss her again. "I'll help you anytime you need me to," he told her after pulling away

Clover sighed and nodded her head. "I know he did. I just don't know if I could do what Ma did if I knew someone like Grand-mum was going to be apart of my family." she sighed. "I know I don't have a choice in it but Ma did. You've seen how protective I am, but I hate that it's something I can't make stop. I can't fight my own family to protect another one in my family. I can't let myself cross that line. So the only thing I can do is.... not listen and just go along with it."
She looked at him confused, "In a long time? How long ago was your last bit of good news?" she asked after yet another kiss, not that she found snogging Dorian bad it was really quite nice. It almost like he was making up for an amount of time he had missed out on. Though she guessed most couples started out with that faze that almost seemed be a lot of touching each other.

Dorian listened to Clover. "Well I hope you don't have to go through something like that. I'm glad my family is so open and accepting. Well if you ever want someone to rescue from an uncomfortable situation like in Diagon Alley, I'd gladly do so. Maybe we should come up with a way to send messages to one another faster than owls. I'm not sure how to do it, but I'll figure something out." He said with a determined look on his face.
He noticed her confused look. "Well the last good news I got was last year, so it's been awhile." He replied. He tried to think back to what the news had been and his eyebrows narrowed slightly. "I can't believe I can't remember what the news was. Oh, right, It was from my father, telling me that we were going to the Alps for the holidays. It was a lot of fun there. I wonder what we'll do this year for the holidays."

Clover chuckled, "Thanks that is good to know. Faster then owls? You're family with BonHomme Right?" she asked, "They are 3/4 blood like me, they should be able to teach you how to use a computer, Though I would need to go to Library..... Eh... Yeah, Even Grandma and Grand-da don't really like them, because they are a distraction from chores and family. Though I think Mr. Gaffle has one for some reason... that sound strange saying it aloud, never mind owls are faster. The method the Ministry is faster but I don't think it works as well on a longer journey." she said a bit blushing
"Oh that sounds like it must have been fun, but an oddly long time to not have any good news." she said. "You always get to see amazing places," she said in an almost awe like manner. "If I'm now with my Parents I go to Golden Hills, not as many farm chores when the snow's on the ground." She said fondly. "Though I guess it can seem predictable."

Dorian scratched his head at her question. "I have three BonHomme cousins at Hogwarts, which one are you asking about? Jocelynne is one year behind me, and Arnaud and Arona just started this year. I've worked with computers before. We've got a few around the house at home. My dad normally doesn't let us use them for games though. Mostly for learning over the summer or for studying. Even on vacation he makes sure me and Kori do some learning on break. I bet he'd let me email you though. I didn't actually know you had access to one or I would have suggested it before now." He said. "Maybe we can plan to write once or twice a week, or more often.." he suggested with a slight blush.
Dorian wasn't really sure if he should go into detail. After their trip at the Alps his father had been called because his mother had needed him. He had barely seen his father since the holiday. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "My mom, she had another break down after our holiday and my dad left to be with her. He's pretty busy helping her with what she's going through. She rarely has good days anymore." He added sadly.
"You've told me a lot about Golden Hills, I bet it would be fun to see it in person." He said almost wistfully. "I wonder if one day I could visit you there. Maybe help out with the farm chores. Sometimes I think I'd welcome something more predictable."
