"Uh-uh. You told me I wouldn't succeed, which means you're definitively shutting down any possibility that I might be able to at all," he pointed out matter-of-factly, wagging a finger at Oberon. "How is that not underestimating me?"
The Dark Mirror Senshi shrugged again. "No one said it," he replied to the other's inquiry about who said he was smart. "I just had a hunch from my intuition and observations. And it's not because you're a know-it-all fountain of knowledge, so don't get the wrong idea." He tapped his temples. "There's more to it than that. Like your open-mindedness, which I can appreciate."
Sinope waved a dismissive hand and looked away, his tone sobering. "I try not to make bonds. Attachments just become weaknesses."

It was too difficult not to roll his eyes, so Oberon didn’t stop himself. This guy was just looking to find anything and everything he could to take his words and twist them around. Oberon will just ignore him then. He reminded him a little of Chara. He’d been annoyed with Chara at first too.
“Yeah? You’re going to have a lonely time if you avoid making bonds. Also a dangerous one. Alliances are important,” Oberon said with a shake of his head, checking on his injuries to make sure the bandages were holding. So far they were fine.
“Adventure beckons,” he said softly as he pressed his hand against his own chest, closing his eyes as the rush of energy and magic coursed through him with a rush of adrenaline, the pain from his injuries fading a bit.

Sinope recognized that he was being ignored and made a face, but otherwise let the matter drop. He thought he’d made his point quite neatly, so without any reason to believe Oberon could dispute it, the stubborn teen was happy to silently conclude that he had won the argument.
“You don’t need to bond with someone to have a good time with them. That’s what acquaintances are for,” he answered, his tone betraying a thinly-veiled bitterness. “Same with alliances. They can be made on a purely professional level. You can work with others as business partners or team members without any concern, compassion, or care for them outside of whatever mutual benefit might have brought you together in the first place. Or are you telling me you’ve never done that; practical fellow like you?”
He watched Oberon’s actions and was able to work out that the curious phrase he mentioned was an attack name, especially if he was the senshi of adventure. Still, as attentive as he was, he couldn’t quite put his finger on what the magic had done. Oberon had appeared to use it on himself, so it couldn’t have been a bad thing, could it have? Had it healed him? If that was the case, though, what had he gone through all that trouble of bandaging him up in the first place for, then?
“Did you just heal yourself?” he inquired, unable to restrain his curiosity. Thinking back on it now, he was embarrassed enough that he had taken the initiative to help the White Moon Senshi without any prompting in the first place. He supposed he had felt guilty for knocking the other teen down when he had just been washing his wounds at the sink, but Sinope wasn’t used to feeling guilty and avoided it when he could. His reasoning was that he had tried to bandage Oberon to make things even between them, but if the other sailor scout hadn’t needed it in the first place, all his efforts would have been pointless.

Was this guy just talking now to talk? It seemed that way to Oberon, who was tired and just wanted to go home so he could patch himself up better and then go to sleep.
He could hear the bitterness in the other’s voice, as well as his curiosity. Oberon was tempted to tell him that yes, everything had been healed and he was perfectly fine now and he was just standing there talking to him because he had nothing better to do with his life. Or that maybe it was for his health. Or something.
“More like recharging some of my energy. It doesn’t last very long. Long enough to get home,” he explained as he checked the bandages over his wounds again. “It’s like taking an aspirin for the pain, though. I wish I could heal myself. That would be super useful.”
Unfortunately, he didn’t have that ability.
“And no, I’d rather offer and receive concern and compassion and care over any mutual benefit,” he said, feeling as though he understood a little more about this Sinope person now.
“Thanks for your help earlier, but I should really get going before this magic wears off,” he said, glad that the other at least didn’t seem too interested in attacking him while he was weakened. Yet.

"I see," the Dark Mirror Senshi acknowledged, fascinated by the explanation of Oberon's magic. His response was also in part to the Senshi of Adventure's preference regarding mutual benefit. It surprised him to think that such a logical-seeming sailor scout who had experienced so much and learned a great deal would have chosen what he did, but perhaps he had his reasons.
In any case, it wouldn't have been fair to try to ask why just then. He had already taken up enough of the other teen's time and greedily absorbed a great deal of the White Moon Senshi's information as it was. And...well, Sinope didn't want to give off the impression that he was lonely or anything, which he undoubtedly would have if he'd attempted to keep Oberon around any longer.
"No thanks necessary. Your generous information was gratitude enough," he answered, walking back over to the bathroom door to open it for them both. "Get home safe."
