La'ella looked over and saw the distant gaze on Mr. Artemis's face and she reached up and petted his head about three or four times, smiling up at him."You feel better? Whenever I worried about something, my mother would pet my head and I felt better."She then looked down herself. She barely remembered her parents, but she clearly remembered the sight of their bodies."I barely remember them.....my parents. It's been so long. I can't remember them in their alive state any more."She then looked down at her hands."I only remember the vision of seeing their bodies washing up on the Bloodshore."La'ella's ears perked when she felt the pet being returned to her and looked over to Shaline.

Artemis nodded and went back to eating his food. It had been a long time since he actually had a home cooked meal. Most of the time, he went out to eat. It usually depended on where he was. "It has to be. No one else around here pets others." He chuckled a little and took a drink of his water. "I wouldn't do that to the people around here. Some might not take too kindly to it."

Artemis finished his food and put his plate in the sink. He turned to La'ella and nodded. "It's fine by me La'ella. You can sleep in my bed if you like. I'd let you sleep in Rune's room, but she's not here to say yes. She might not take too kindly to see someone she doesn't know asleep in her bed." He smiled and turned to Shaline. "I'm ready to go whenever you are."

Shaline had finished and stood up and took her plate and La'ella's to the sink as La'ella just returned to the couch."I think she must be more comfortable there right now. But shall we be off? Oh let me make Rune a plate and leave it in the refrigerator. And then we could go."She gathered another plate and placed the breakfast on the plate and sat it in the fridge."Ok. I'm ready to head on over."Shaline heard the soft sounds of sleep coming from La'ella and smiled. She gathered her things back into her basket and carried it to the door.

Artemis watched La'ella curl up on the couch and smiled. "She looks so peaceful right now. It's probably been a long time since she had a good nights sleep. And who knows what she actually had to sleep on. I doubt it was anything comfortable." He then pulled on his jacket and walked to the door. "I think that she will be just fine here."

Upon hearing the door open to the house, La'ella tried to hide in a corner only to be noticed by the girl. Frightened she gave a hiss at the two, more terrified of the man in armor, but her eyes continued to go back and forth between the two. She made sure she was as far into the corner she could get, knowing that with her small stature, she could easily dart between legs."I don't know who you are, but I am not going back to that Lalafell."With another hiss in her words, she was ready to pounce as well.
Garrett enjoyed the companionable silence as he and Ms. Rune continued on their way back to the city and was slightly surprised when they headed towards the living quarter instead of the merchants district from the previous day. Raising an eyebrow at this, the knight kept his silence and questions to himself until Ms. Rune spoke on the matter when she came to a stop in front of a particular residence and entered, casually bidding for him to enter and offering him food. That made him pause for a moment because it reminded him of a tradition from his homeland that one offered guests. Bread and salt for guests was an indication amongst nobility that the lord or lady of a residence offered their oath sworn full protection to guests. Here it might be just good manners but it was a nice reminder. Stepping in after smiling to the cultural similarity he made to offer his thanks but stopped when he heard the question about someone who Rune did not know in the residence.
The Knights mind immediately snapped back to the day before, more specifically, to the assailant. On guard in an instant, Garrett stepped forwards to cover Rune only to see a young girl in the kitchen. That did not matter to the knight since he was well acquainted with the fact that assassins could come in all shapes and sizes but Her words and the look of sheer terror in her eye though made him pause. Since her eyes were focused squarely on him, the knight took a measured gaze at the girl. Coming to a decision and praying that he was correct he reached down carefully and unbuckled his sword, making extra care to show no ill intent of overt hostility in the action. he then retreated back towards the door and hung the blade near a conviently placed coat peg. Thus unarmed aside from his dagger which was more of a tool than a weapon he removed a armored glove and showed a hand to the girl making sure to keep his distance as to not aggravate the situation any further than his instinctual reaction might have already done.
" My name is Ser Garrett Pendraga and I will take you no where you do not wish to go young one. You are in my friend, Ms. Rune's house. How did you come to get here?"

She softened slightly to hearing Mr. Artemis's name, but kept a guard up."How do you know Mr. Artemis? And this is Mr. Artemis's house....."After she said that, the memory of Mr. Artemis mentioning someone by the name of Rune came back, but how could she be for sure that this.....Hyur spoke true? She slowly inched towards the door, being careful not to stray her eyes from the two. As she inched towards the door, she pulled out a tome and kept it close, ready to use it if need be."I'll attack if you don't answer quickly."
