Ritsu got upstairs and looked out the window. She started humming a song that her brother wrote a while back but they never recorded it or made it public. With out realizing it, she started singing it as she laid down. She couldn't figure out why of all times that this song came to mind but she yawned a few times through it.

Rayne sat down in a nearby chair and stared out the window. 'What should I do? I can't just run away from the castle. There's no doubt that Shadira would come after me if I tried. And who knows what she has planned for me next. I can't let her find out about Ritsu and Riku. They mustn't be put in harms way.' He had started to doze off when heard humming coming from upstairs. At that moment, he got up and walked up the stairs. "That sounds beautiful."
Ritsu was still singing not noticing Rayne coming up the stairs. She wasn't one for dancing but as she sang, her body started moving as a balls of light started dancing around her. She smiled as she sang and dance. It was like something was waking inside her but when she tried her magic a while back, nothing was working. But she was too distracted to realize that she had an audience.

Rayne continued to watch Ritsu's performance, causing him to smile. It was the happiest he had felt in a long time, from what he could remember. Living in that nightmare of a castle was not very pleasant. At least he had his own room and was free to roam around the castle, to an extent. There were some areas where he wasn't allowed to go. 'I don't want to say anything and disturb her. Besides, that would be rude of me.'
Ritsu finished her song and smiled but it faded when the lights went away. She tried using her light powers again to no avail. She turned around and spotted Rayne. She was a little stunned that he saw all of that. She never danced like she did. It was almost like the song drew it out of her. Before she knew it, her whole face was red. She didn't know why she was so nervous of performing for someone. She never had stage fright, even when she and her brother first started out. It came naturally to her. So why was she now nervous about someone's reaction? They had many adoring fans before Lucis was attacked....so what was one person.

"That was amazing Ritsu." Rayne said, smiling a little. "I've never seen anything like that before."'It made me feel like all my troubles had faded away. I had no idea that she could perform like that.' Upon seeing her face turn red, he chuckled a little. "I didn't mean to surprise you. Did I make you nervous or something?"
Ritsu shook her head and then smiled."No, more like I am embarrassed. I don't usually dance, but that song that my brother wrote....it just brings it out of me. Even the light magic that showed up....I still don't have control, yet, it just appeared."Ritsu sat down."Probably the reason why we never recorded it or performed it."

"You don't have to be embarrassed." Rayne said, looking away. "It looked to me like you were enjoying yourself. Almost as if you were an entirely different person. I could never do something like that." He didn't know much about singing or dancing, but he did find it enjoyable to watch. It was extremely rare for him to see any sort of performance.
Ritsu's blush faded as she smiled some more at him."Thanks. Singing has always calmed me down."Ritsu patted next to her on the bed."In Lucis, Riku and I were part of a group called "The Two Ri's". We were a band led by both my brother and myself. Needless to say we were really famous. We also modeled as well. I broke out into acting recently while Riku was learning to write music to go with his lyrics. Whenever I was always in a rut of some kind, that song's lyrics always used to pop into my head. Our composer had a made a more upbeat version of the song, but the one you heard me sing was Riku's first attempt at writing music on his own. He wrote the music about a year ago. The same thing happened when I sang both versions. I just start dancing. It's almost like something mystical about it is happening that just makes my body move."She looked down to her hands as she spoke about her home.

Rayne continued to smile, not wanting the happiness to stop. "I don't remember the last time I smiled like this." He sat down on the bed, happy to have met his new best friends. "It's a beautiful song. I don't know much about music, but I know when I like something. Maybe one day I will get to see you perform again."
Ritsu noddded."Yeah. I don't know if this world would accept a couple of stars like me and my brother. All we know how to do is perform."Ritsu drew her knees to her chest and laid her head on her knees."All we have ever done since we were 14 was perform on stage for large crowds, only recently breaking into modeling and for me, acting."Ritsu yawned again after awhile. Whatever happened, it wore her out."I wonder if Riku is doing ok.

"You won't know until you try Ritsu." Rayne said, turning towards her. "Just don't go thinking that you have to alright. There are plenty of things to do besides performing. You just have to follow your own path in life."'Maybe I should take my own advice, but I don't stand a chance against Shadira and Dimitri.' Sighing, he turned her attention to the window. "It would be nice to have that kind of freedom. And I'm sure that Riku has everything under control."
Ritsu yawned again and nodded."True."Ritsu listened to him and he mentioned about that it would to have this kind of freedom."Are you not able to do as you wish?"Ritsu wasn't used to the idea of not being able to live a normal life. Even though her and her brother were famous, they lived quite normal lives. They walked around the streets in Lucis's main capital like they were ordinary citizens.

"You should rest." Rayne said. He wasn't really sure how to answer her question. There was no such thing as freedom within that nightmare. Looking down, he gripped his arm. "I don't have the freedom you have. The place I'm a prisoner in is a nightmare and nothing more. I'm allowed to roam about the castle as I please, aside from certain areas. Not to mention that I have my own room, but it's nothing special. The only time I leave the castle is when they send me out on some mission."
Ritsu thought for a moment about his situation. He truly had no freedom. She reached to her pocket and felt her music player and pulled it out. She handed it over to him."All of our albums are on there. Maybe I can let you borrow this. Maybe it can give you some hope."Ritsu smiled."And maybe when you are done with it, just leave it here and I can probably come back another time to see if it's here. Or give it to me when you are finally free. Which I hope one day you will be."Ritsu's smile was really hopeful and big.
