The Hunt Begins! Quote: The DCU and Romano's would like to welcome you to the annual DCU Easter Egg Hunt! We hope everyone brought their friends, family, and their Easter spirit along. Never know when a little believe in the Easter Bunny might bring you one step closer to finding the next egg. Outside the student union office on the DCU campus there is a large table set up decorated with painted eggs, flowers, bowls of free candy, and representatives from both the DCU cultural board and Romano's Constitutional Haven. Kian Cappello, former professor and cultural board member, is representing the DCU and Magiore Carpenter is representing Romano's. Both men are available to help answer questions and to help people get signed up for the event. Other volunteers are there to take sign up sheets and give out participation wristbands. There are a few stacks of sign up sheets along with plenty of pens to fill everything out. Guests who sign up are given a wristband by one of the volunteers so they will be allowed free access to the school campus and they are given a clue sheet for the location of the eggs. Participants are encouraged to take a selfie with the eggs as proof that they did in fact find their location! Quote: First Egg
You have three choices of where to look for the egg but you may only choose one. Clues will be posted about every 24 hours, if you miss one that is okay but you can't go back for it
Please post in Bold Blue if you choose the Front Gate Please post in Bold Red if you choose the Founder Statue Please post in Bold Green if you choose the Cafeteria - The Front gates of the DCU are the original gates to the school and have stood since it's founding. They have been preserved by the school and the historical society. Consisting of brick columns and a custom made iron gate they are one of the schools most recognizable features. - The bronze statue of the school's founder has been a part of the campus since it's induction on the 100th anniversary of the school. The statue sits in the center of the Quad and overlooks the original administrative building of the campus. - The building now housing the campus cafeteria was originally the campus gym. When the need for newer and more modern accomodations prompted the construction of the new athletic center the building was converted. Now the cafeteria houses the school run restruants and a quick servgivice cafeteria counter.

Kathryn McAdams ---> Exploring around the Founder's StatueKathryn had heard about the DCU Easter Egg hunt via word of mouth and also flyers had been sent to the DC Library to advertise. Kathryn had been on the fence about whether or not she wished to attend. Eventually the lure of an afternoon spent having fun won out. Logically she was probably too old to partake but that didn't stop her from bussing out to the DCU campus and looking around at the tables that were set up. One day she needed to come out here and actually perhaps sign up for classes. Seeing as she was once again living at home it meant that her earnings from her job sat in her bank. The weather was fair enough to host an outdoor activity and Kathryn was glad for that. "Good sign, pleasant weather I guess," was her muttered comment to herself. Steeling herself for what she believed and hoped would be a good time Kathryn strolled through the front gates onto the DCU campus. It was fairly obvious that she was in the right place and without much aplomb the young woman went over to the sign up area and turned in her completed form to a harried looking volunteer. As she was given a bracelet that indicated she was here for the hunt Kathryn took the time to glance around at the myriad of people lounging about. After looking at the clues on where one egg might be found Kathryn grabbed a few pieces of candy and headed in the direction of the Founder's Statue. She would start her searching there. Quote: Anyone can interact with Kathryn if they wish

YolandaHydrus - The Front GatesYolie. Yolanda Hydrus. Yolie was quite happy to accept her sheet, and roamed to the front gates, paper in hand as she looked about for the egg, humming as she walked, quite cheery. The blonde almost bounced, walking slowly as she did, and she thought as she looked. Might there be chocolate? Chocolate was good -- she coul go for chocolate. Yolie hummed, walking as she searched, humming. Finch Woods - Founder's StatueWhy. Finch wondered why they had gone out for this. They didn't like being PART of the crowd, while watching was fine -- at the same time, it was searching. Finch liked searching for things, seeing details, and the like, and they sighed. Truly, it was a stressful situation. Oh well -- Finch internally shrugged, looking about quietly as they looking for an egg, and trembled, swallowing. Quote: Yolie and Finch are open to meet people!

Jocelin Cavendish is exploring the cafeteria.
Jacelin had decided to head to the cafeteria, as it seemed people were headed everywhere else. He didn't want to have to compete too much with others, the feeling of being rushed to try and find whatever egg may be there. That was just - stressing, at least in his opinion. And for those who knew him they knew he liked to avoid stress as much as he could, it was perhaps one of the main reasons for his habit of lazing about. It didn't help that his parents still supported him.
But as he entered the cafeteria Jocelin went to looking around, hunting, for a colored egg. The band already on his wrist signifying he was part of this madness. He had his cell phone out as well, taking pictures of the event for his blog, he was happy to hunt around as he poked about the vending machines making sure they weren't where the sodas and chips landed. Then there was seeing if he could get back where food was made...he had a lot to check.

Rhona was grateful for the warmer weather, at long last. To further urge spring to life, she had donned her most flow-ey, floral-ey, spring-y outfit that she could muster up. She was so committed her the part of "spring nymph" that she wove some silk flowers into her long braid which curled from one ear, over the crown of her head, and then down across to ehr opposite shoulder. She hadn't noticed how long her hair had gotten until she tied off the braid and it fell well past her rib cage. She thought that it might me time for a cut until she realized how majestic it made her feel. Maybe just the dead ends then.
But that was a problem for another day. For now, however, she toddled off to her first location, the Front Gate.--- Abbot had gotten the message at about this mission about a week ago and had been dreading it ever since. She was not very accustomed to the way the negaverse worked, and she wasn't totally comfortable in her lack of knowledge. Discomfort made her irritable. But when the bosses called, she answered. That was her job, after all. So she headed to the Founder's Statue, figuring there would be more people there to influence. Maybe this would yet be amusing.
It was there that she noticed two young people already hard at work searching for their prize. Upon closing in, she put on her brightest smile and chirped, "Finding anything, yet?"--- Gisela would rather be at home, doing anything but this. Doing yoga, playing with Apricot, staring at the wall, literally anything but this. But not to arrive would bring shame to her commanding officer, and that was not acceptable. She would yet make Cinnabar proud of her, and so she was here, heading to the cafeteria, where she figured less people would venture.

Stacey Longman -- Founder's StatueThis was the first time Stacey had set foot on campus. If she had really wanted to apply herself, she could have gone to university. Of course she still could, but at this point she was happy with where she was as a professional personal trainer. Or at least she got paid enough without having to depend on her mother, which meant not having to talk to her mother either. But at some point she might have the money to actually become a student. But that would have to be for later. Today she was finally going to be exploring the campus, or at least she had a reason to. She had gotten the day off and wanting to do more than just sit around and read trashy romance novels, she decided she needed to get out into the sun. Unfortunately for her, she didn't actually know anyone here which would have made this more fun. However, she wouldn't dwell on that, she could talk to others after all. But right now she was going for the prizes! The eggs! At least it had sounded like fun, she had never been able to do an Easter Egg Hunt as a child, so she hoped she could experience what she had missed. The statue had first caught her attention, and she figured that by going to it, she could explore the campus a bit more than just hanging around at the front gates. She could have gone to the cafeteria, but she really had no idea where she was going, even with the map, and so decided to stay outside first. Quote: She's open for interaction!

"You made us late!" Zacharie groused as he tugged impatiently on his older brother's hand. He was ready to hunt down some eggs and he had been ready since he'd woken up at seven that morning. His family didn't often partake in holidays like Easter or Halloween so this was finally his chance to have a normal egg hunt without the snooty guests and stuffy Easter outfits. "Yes, yes, I know." Andre huffed a soft laugh as he let himself be dragged away from the sign up table. "I've already apologized but we're here now, petite." The eldest Dubois watched the other participants wander about with some curiosity before glancing down at the map he'd picked up.
"We should split up." Zacharie said after a moment, he too was glancing at his own map and frowned thoughtfully as he heaved a big sigh. "I'll go to the Founder's Statue to look." It seemed like a good place to start in his opinion. Andre didn't seem particularly enthused about letting the younger boy wander around on his own but it made more sense to split up to cover more ground. "Alright, I'll take the Front Gate then. If you need me call and-" Zacharie cut him off with his best impersonation of his brother. "I'll be there before you know it. I know, I know. I'll be fi~ne." The twelve year old gave his sibling a hug before dashing off to the statue, leaving a exasperated Andre to start towards the gate.

Chailee had been super excited about the prospect of an Easter Egg hunt! Especially since it was taking place at DCU and she'd been nosey about what the campus looked like. So it was really a win-win situation. The day of the event she had hurried to DCU as early as she deemed necessary and got herself signed-up. The teenager was practically bouncing on her toes. One would think she was a five year old with how she acted. Several kids her age would scoff at the idea of participating in such a 'childish' event, but not Chailee.
Thanks to the delightful weather, Chailee was able to sport a white lace skirt, a pastel green V-neck top with flutter sleeves, and a pair flat, tan-toned ankle booties. Her hair was pulled back with two braids which joined in the back in an attempt to keep her hair out of her face. The attempt was already failing as shorter pieces had already fallen from the braids, but at least looked done purposefully.
With the start of the event, Chailee made a beeline for the Founder's Statue. Green eyes darted around as she looked for anything that could remotely be an egg. Of course she was expecting something bright and colorful, but how big would it be?
As she neared the statue, she noted two others there. With a smile she hurried up to them. "Hey! Find anything yet? Any other clues?" Her eagerness was almost overbearing. Normal 16 year olds weren't this excited over and Easter Egg hunt.

"Hrm...not bad." Zacharie murmured, head craned back so he could inspect the Founder's Statue.
...It certainly was...a statue?
The boy didn't really have much interest in some old guy that made the school or gave it a lot of money, whatever, boring. He was much more interested in finding an egg! "Where would someone hide an egg...?" He murmured under his breath as he circled around the statue a few times, pale, green-blue eyes scanning the area intently.
Could...could he climb up on it? Would they even bother to hide an egg up on the statue? The small boy squinted, trying to find a spot where an egg would fit before attempting to climb it all willy-nilly.
--------
Andre glanced around with a soft huff, "Where to start?" He hummed thoughtfully before shrugging and taking a few steps back so he could look at the top of gate. Perhaps they put it atop the brick columns?

Abbot froze suddenly as the cheerful voice reached her ears. No. It couldn't be. She wouldn't be stupid enough to show up, right? She swung around, violence and rage in her eyes only to find... nothing. Just a girl. Well... that certainly was odd... Facing her now as she spoke, the senshi form before and this girl really sounded nothing alike... that had been so odd. Still, Abbot plastered a smile onto her face and waved back at the new comer.
"I can't say about my two companions, but I have found nothing thus far. How about you?

Gwen had noticed the flyer not too long ago and at first dismissed the whole event as a child's game. After all, that's what Easter egg hunts tended to cater to. Usually there was candy or an Easter basket involved for the winner and then some consolation prizes for the others. It wasn't until she saw the flier again that she noted there was no age limit listed. That had been curious. Curious enough to have the Ginger walking onto the school grounds to sign-up for the event.
In fact, it seemed other adults had joined in the event. Well, perhaps there was more to this than she thought. If nothing else, it would be a nice afternoon out of the house. She'd not done much besides go to work, the gym and then out on patrol. That was what her life revolved around, and Gwen was in some much needed TLC and if that came in the form of an egg hunt, she was game.
Thankfully she had been smart to wear a pair of dark wash skinny jeans, a blue tee with a light sweater over top, and a pair of black flats. She was comfortable enough that searching for an egg wouldn't be bothersome. Crawling around on the ground wouldn't stain anything besides very washable jeans.
When the announcement that the event was starting followed by the first clue, Gwen decided to head towards THE CAFETERIA. It hadn't seemed like a bad idea. Eggs were food and there would be food there. Of course, needless to say, she chose it because it was the first location inside and she was interested in seeing what the new school was like. Needless to say, it was a typically school with a typical cafeteria.
Upon entering the cafeteria though she saw a few others had had the same idea as she did. Well, two others anyway. Others must have opted to remain outside in the spring warmth, not that Gwen blamed them. Spring had come finally and the weather was cooperating beautifully for the hunt.

Briar Mackenzie > Founder's StatueBriar knew about the Easter egg hunt being held over at DCU - although it would have been hard not too.
In part because some of his classmates had been talking about it and in part because it have been hard to miss the flyers that had been dotted around the library that had advertised said egg hunt...
And whilst he was still officially grounded, his parents had happened to sign him up for the egg hunt thing a while back and so were permitting him to go.
Not that he really wanted to to - in fact the last thing Briar really wanted to do was wander around doing such a kiddy thing–
Because looking for Easter eggs really was a kiddy thing - but it was also the first time he was getting out to do anything that wasn't school...
And given that he was still grounded, Briar figured that he might as well make the most of it.
To that end he had duly signed in on one of the sign in sheets before taking a wrist band and clue sheet from one of the volunteers handing them out and then had drifted in the direction of the Founder's Statue, only to find that quite a few people had appeared to have the same idea.Quote: Briar is open for interactions

Liz Jenkins (disposable) -- At sign in table
Liz Jenkins looked around in awe at the setup that greeted her. People mingled around and it looked like people were already starting to hunt for things. The teen turned around to wave at her parents who nodded once before leaving their only child to a fun-filled afternoon. Liz breathed in deeply enjoying the sweet scent of springtime air that filled her lungs. Strawberry blond hair hung loosely to the nape of her neck and occasionally lifted a bit in the breeze that was picking up. Fourteen years and she still could not contain her child-like exuberance at such an event. Knowing that she had to sign up still Liz wandered over to the table that indicated that people "sign up" here. Taking a form and a pen that was offered to her Liz began the process of filling out the paper that would allow her to partake in the search for easter eggs. Her gaze flicked to the two men that stood behind the table and she found herself wanting to know if the eggs would stand out or not. Finishing the paperwork Liz placed her pen on the table and handed her form into the man that had a name tag reading "Kian." Not thinking about it she blurted out the first question on her mind as the paper was passed over, "are the eggs exceptionally hard to find?" No one told her she should not try to get hints. Liz waited to see if she'd get a reply.

Kathryn McAdams -Searching area around Founder's StatueKathryn was beginning to think that maybe the egg was not in this location. There were still places around the statue that an egg could be hidden but so far, to her trained eye, it did not seem to be on the statue itself. Idly she watched as a newcomer starting to eye the bronze sculpture like it was something to climb on. Knowing that it wasn't her place to say anything Kathryn turned away in time to catch sight of more people drifting over. It seemed that any advantage by starting early was now long gone. At finding herself being asked if anything had been found yet by two people (( Abbott & Chailee )) Kathryn merely grinned before shaking her head. "I haven't seen anything yet but it could still be around here." Watching as yet some more people gathered around Kathryn could not help but notice that it was extremely possible that she was one of the oldest searchers in the group. That made her just a little bit more wary of the younger crowd. It begged the question that even ff she found an egg, would she keep it? That answer would only come up again if by chance she found the egg she was searching for. Peeling away from the statue itself Kathryn began to widen her search perimeter and began to walk a large circle around the quad. She really did want to find the egg, if it were here, first.

Tress Gervene - Founder's Statue
Tress sighed as she eyed the spring-time and Easter decorations, adjusting her square-framed glasses atop the bridge of her nose as she reminded herself yet again why she was attending this event. Though she had attended a Valentine's Day one of her own volition, she had done so in the hopes of improving her social skills. However, this occasion seemed to mostly consist of children searching for silly little painted eggs. Children were something she had far more contact with than she cared to due to her job. She doubted she would find too many of her own peers here; not those with dignity to uphold, anyway. Unless, of course, they were there for the same reason Tress was.
As an assistant teacher at Romano's - the very school of students who had painted the eggs that had been hidden around the DCU campus - the tawny-haired woman felt it could have been beneficial to her to show up. As Magiore Carpenter was there to represent Romano's, Tress wondered if perhaps she might be able to catch the man's notice. It may not have allowed her to improve her social skills, exactly, but even getting the fellow to remember her for the future could certainly have had a positive impact in advancing her career.
She decided her best chance of getting his attention without going up to him directly, though, was to participate in this event in the name of supporting the school they both worked for. That meant signing up and actually, actively attempting to look for those eggs. Well...Tress supposed it could have been a more difficult task. This, degrading a task as it seemed, would be fairly easy if she simply used her calm intellect to analyze the clues provided in order to quickly and efficiently locate the painted prized before anyone else.
After having signed up and accepted a wristband and a clue sheet by one of the volunteers, the freckled assistant teacher was on her way into the DCU campus. It didn't take long, however, before she witnessed a sight that flicked the switch on her teacher mode. A child was climbing a statue by himself unsupervised with no tools or other assistance. She halted in her tracks and turned to face him, each of her hands planting themselves on a hip.
She cleared her throat. "Young man," Tress began for politeness' sake, her thick, English Sussex accent heavily influencing her pronunciation. She didn't even bother wasting time asking him what he thought he was doing. "I highly doubt they would have chosen to hide an egg somewhere so dangerously inaccessible to their average participant. Come down this instant before I report you to a higher authority."
Even as she spoke, the woman began to wonder if maybe there were easier ways to curry favor with the representative of Romano's after all. Looking out for a child's well-being, for example, would surely have counted for more than merely finding a great number of painted eggs.Wasibru Óir - The Front GatesIt was such a beautiful day to be outside! Not that Wasibru didn't think that almost every day anyway, but today the appeal was especially enhanced in her eyes due to the Easter Egg event and the many Destiny City citizens that had come out to participate, herself included. She may have been 16, but whether or not that would have been considered too old an age to go out egg-hunting had hardly occurred to her. Regardless, the teen had never really been one to keep from doing something she wanted to just because others disapproved.
Bright, grass green eyes lit with excitement, she eagerly accepted the supplies given by the event volunteers, filled out the sign-up form, and immediately after began to study the clue sheet. It was then she raised her head and began to look around, realizing that there had been nothing mentioned against working together and wondering if anyone else might have had the same idea she did. Having always been a social creature, Wasibru valued the notion of getting to meet and learn about new people here far more than she wanted to win the contest.
Uncertain about just going up to random strangers occupied with their own hunting and yet not wanting to simply stand around doing nothing, she wandered on over to the Front Gates where others seemed to have begun to gather. Wasi inspected the brick and iron creation, admiring the workmanship as she contemplated what it must have meant for them to be one of the DCU's most recognizable features.Quote: ((Wasibru is open for interaction!))
