“It’s fine!” she said, since telling Athene he didn’t have to apologise was often a fast track to a whole string of ‘sorrys’. And anyway, it was sweet of him to worry for her, so long as he didn’t mind if she worried about him too. They were neither of them fighters, really, but Athene had been doing this longer and better than she had. She trusted his experience.
The Eternal’s speed outstripped her own, but she bounded along not too far behind, Liryn pinned against the ruffles of her fuku. Hopefully she wasn’t shaking him too much as she ran.
The area the signal led to was so run-down it was practically falling over. The tatters of an old church could have come straight from a horror movie, and Subamara shivered as she passed it, frowning at the holes in the coloured glass.
“It’s way quiet for an emergency,” she whispered to Liryn. They must still be some way from the person who needed help.
It was a tragedy to leave behind Kairatos of Mars and his lovely Meteora. They had been a fun salve to her wounded, rainbow-punching heart. She still felt terrible about having punched the tiny beauty, senshi or not; and she felt just as bad about the claw marks in her leg, though the puncture marks from kitty claws were not bleeding as much as they certainly had been previously. She was quite glad that her frantic running from the angry Guardian Cat had prompted him to release his death-grip on her leg- she still felt awful about the time she had vomited on one, and having to punt another one to the moon went against one part of her religion, which was.... be nice to cats, just in case. One never knew if they would finally die and be dangling over a crocodile-headed demon, with the cat-headed gods dumping weights in the scale with their heart in it.
That tragedy was much abated by the sight of a group of Order members. A child (who keps bringing chibis out to battlefields, shits in a shell, keep the babies at home!), a damn gorgeous dark-skinned woman in pastel pinks and blues, a smo- smoking hottie, damn. There were two other people nearby too, but her brain stopped at the reds, purples, blacks, and actual flames on those shoes. That thigh. Honestly, this night just kept looking up and up the more Titanite hopped and skipped around looking for people. How could she resist hopping her way over and slapping the hot one on the a** before cheerily waggling her fingers at the group, casting them all brief looks.
“Hi~” she said coyly, her accent drawing the word out. “My name is Titanite. Would you like to play a while?” She did hope so- the red-and-purple one looked like fun, all tiny and colorful and sexy. The others didn't look so bad themselves (except the kid) and she tossed the dark-skinned cotton-candy senshi a bawdy wink, waggling her eyebrows. “Those two should be in bed though. It is a school night.” she pointed to the chibi, and then squinted at the other younger-looking boy. And.... a cat. Sigh. She hadn't noticed that one at first.
“Just a little game, I promise. Winner gets a kiss.” to demonstrate, she puckered up her lips, blowing a kiss to Guinevere and Morgan, puffing it to them over her fingers. “I have to stress, however, that boys and chibis are not invited to play with us.” Not that she could stop any of them from chucking a well-deserved punch her way, but the males would not get a kiss for it. The two lovely ladies she was making eyes at, on the other hand, were quite welcome to throw a punch or two.
Honestly, this was going to turn into the best night ever. She still needed to go back and check on the pretty little Rainbow; and Red and Gorgeous might wait for her, too. And now Cotton Candy and Flames... Maybe she needed to re-think her choice not to engage in such large-scale battles, it seemed like the best place to meet interesting new people.
Wither grinned coming upon a curly haired senshi that was oh so familiar. She was with a cat and an eternal, probably not the best idea to approach them on his part, but honestly he didn't care. He was rearing to go and full of energy and ready to possibly pluck a few starseeds. This senshi in particular he felt had it coming for her ... they had unfinished business having been interrupted before.
He summoned his weapon charging at the trio and swinging his fist at the girl face. He aimed to hit her, but he hoped to give her a least of bit of a surprised. His fist sailed by and he kept going with it turning around and winking at the senshi.
"Been a long time pigtails ... care to dance ... hmmm," he said with a chuckle, "... as if you have a choice ... dukes up girly."
Look she could feel the Nega energy approaching--not as strong as a General, not as weak as the first rank (lieutenants right?)--and really she wasn't positive what this rank was called in the moment. Except that it was someone coming in fast, and though she turned with a snarl on her face and fists clenched for a fight.
Only it wasn't a shout for combat that came from her. It was a yelp, and a few choice words... "A bhitseach bheag!" She stumbled forward a few steps, turning on her heel to glare bright blue daggers at the... equally bright blue and black Negaverse agent. Her a** hurt, and Morgan wasn't too proud to keep her hands from rubbing at her abused butt. ********, she'd be lucky if she could sit properly that day now...
Indeed, when she went to take a swing at the b***h, Morgan found herself stumbling, and cussed all the louder as her bruise forming bum protested at the movements. "Oh girlie, I'm going to make your face match your hair for this. A kiss with a fist is better than none, right?"
Not to mention she wasn't too keen at how the chick was flirting with her teammate. Really?
But she faltered further, a figure in purple catching her attention and making her blood boil. "Bastún," she spat. This day kept getting better and better...
HP: 113/130 DMG: 0 fml Effects: does extreme embarrassment count????
Aquila had been minding her business, out hunting for some monsters to beat up, when her phone went off. She'd heard this particular blaring alarm tone before, so she wasn't surprised when she checked the screen to find it was alerting her of a distress signal.
So...should she answer it? She tapped the app to turn off the alarm, then considered the little map. The last time she'd answered a distress signal, there had been a giant monster that looked tough, but had actually gone down without a ton of trouble. She started to wonder if this would be the same, then noticed there were a lot of Chaos auras in the direction of the distress call. And a lot of Order ones were heading that way, too. She waffled between whether she would be needed, whether it would be too dangerous, whether...well, whether she just plain wanted to. Eventually she sighed and started jogging towards the source of the signal. May as well at least see what's going on.
As she came up behind an old church, she felt that the auras on both sides were strong enough that there were several people around. She slowed and looked around, trying to take stock of the area.
Other people were arriving that Shalott recognized, fellow knights and senshi that she'd met over the course of her patrols. She was fiercely protective of the White Moon. Athene, for example. She moved toward the senshi and stood next to him, her eyes drifting over the field. She kept one eye always on Benitoite, for when the Nega finally noticed her presence, but she also wanted to know who else was around.
"I have a feeling that we need to be careful. Something tells me that this isn't going to be easy before it's finished."
She immediately spotted a Nega (Wither) moving to hurt someone and moved to intercept. "Oh no you don't," she growled, becoming a fierce mama tiger. "You're going to back off right the ******** now if you know what's good for you."
She moved to punch the Nega in the face as hard as she could, which was pretty hard considering the many, many years she spent in martial arts class. That was all roaring at the surface as she moved to protect, as was her calling.
Liryn carefully unhooked his claws "It is" he agreed, his cheerful voice unusually serious. "I'm picking up on a Lieutenant in immediate vicinity and a Captain - but the other chaos auras seem to be further out."
Further out, but still there - and some of said auras were much more powerful than a Lieutenant's aura -.which suggested Generals.
He wriggled slightly - a hint hopefully that he was about to get down - and jumped for the ground once Subamara's arms loosened.
Because whilst being carried was nice, it would be easier to be ready if he was already on the ground.
Athene called out a sudden warning, but he wasn't able to react immediately as a Captain (Witherite) appeared charged towards Subamara, although it looked like the sudden attack had managed to miss.
He hissed at the Captain and launched himself at him before tried to rake out with his claws...

Athene didn't like the quiet because it felt tooo quiet - but then again it probably meant that the real trouble - trouble that even now caused his senshi phone to continue to blare in warning - was further out.
Not that much further out - because the auras were too close for that - but not about immediate vicinity.
He'd picked up on auras of a Lieutenant and a Captain, but he'd missed the aura of the second Captain - the blond man already moving to attack as he appeared almost out of nowhere.
"Subamara watch out!" He called, even as he turned - a hiss from Liryn's direction suggesting that the small mauvian had noticed.
Help was forthcoming in the form of an Earth Knight (Shalott) as Athene stepped forward.
He tried to focus on the auras as he did so however - because he'd missed the incoming Captain's aura and wanted to make sure that he didn't repeat the mistake.

Hania's eyes darted around the area, taking in those who showed up, before he turned his head slightly to look at Morgan. "I will try to do so." He promised, something that was both easy and hard at the same time. It would entirely depend on if Arthuradel was capable of moving on her own and willing to leave after all since he couldn't physically force her or move her. He looked over at Guinevere as she addressed the chibi Senshi and his tail lashed a bit at her swear but he didn't say anything.
As he went back to looking around he spotted another Mau(Tiberius) wondering the area and his fur ruffled as sensing he was a chaos cat. Distracted as he was, he couldn't warn Morgan about the approaching Captain(Titanite) since he didn't notice her until after she slapped the Senshi on her rear. The cat ended up loosing his balance from Morgan's stumbling and he had to jump down to the ground though he was careful not to accidentally claw the young woman.
His fur puffed up more as he turned to look at the Captain that was flirting with the two Senshi but he didn't attack her, knowing that there were enough Senshi around the one Negaverse officer that he wasn't needed. The cat moved out of the way of the brewing fight, keeping an eye on things for a moment, then dashed over to try and slam into the Chaos Cat(Tiberius) with no warning to the other feline.
Subamara didn’t see where he’d come from. Whether he’d teleported in or been watching them all along. Just the flash of a deep purple uniform, blond hair, cruel smile. She saw him out of the corner of her eye as Liryn slipped out of her arms, leaving her cold. Captain’s aura now, she realised distantly, as the agent charged past Athene and the knight who’d joined him, heading directly her way.
“You…”
She shook her head, a slight, disbelieving motion that set the long tails of her hair bobbing. He remembered her. He was coming for her. Her feet moved almost of their own accord, backing away as her friends cried warnings. It was enough. There were no subway columns to hem her in this time, block her escape. The clenched fist flew past her, almost harmless. She could almost still feel those fingers closed around her starseed. She remembered the paralysis, the cold, cold touch. And he still smiled.
Subamara raised her arms, not to a fighting stance, but to cross against her chest, for what little good it would do.
The knight’s words rang out, and her solid punch, a call back to the present. Subamara swallowed hard, reset her footing for the coming fight. Someone else was in distress, she reminded herself, and letting past terrors get to her was letting the Negaverse win.
“Liryn, be careful!” she cried, wanting the cat back in her arms again, and safe. Not anywhere near the nightmare hands of that monster. She could use her magic, but she wasn’t sure of the range. If she boosted the nega too she helped no-one. She took another step back, watching now for an opening.
Witherite found himself threatened by a knight in a dressed and then punched square in the face and rocked , stumbling and falling back. As soon her he hit the ground a cat was on him raking it claws down his leg and making him cry out and growl in ******** animal," he hissed, before bringing his hand back to smack the mangy thing away from him. He looked up to the pair trio and hastily climbed to his feet adjusting his jaw and turning to glare at the knight.
"Mind your own damn business ... old maid ... we've got unfinished business and she's here so obviously now is a good time to deal with her."
Morgan's reaction to the Captain's a**-slap had Guinevere raising her eyebrows, because that seemed...a little dramatic, butt hen again, who knew what powered strength did for a firm hand on the booty?
Still, she was unabashed in her appreciation of the officer - Titanite, apparently - taking in her look. She didn't look that dangerous or that homicidal or really at all likely to try and reach into Guinevere's chest and pull out her soul or her starseed or whatever, but then, Guinevere herself was well aware that looks could be deceiving. Step one of a good con: convince the target you're not at all likely to try and con them.
So maybe she just had to play the game right back.
"Come on, love, there's no need for that," she entreated Morgan, and then she gave the Captain a broad wink.
"Hello there, darling, my name's Guinevere, and this is Morgan, and what my very hotheaded teammate meant is that we'd love to hear the rules of your game. Right?" Her London accent was thick and rolling, and she played it up a little.
Worst came to worst, she got a kiss from a pretty girl. That sounded very, very nice.

Oberon of Adventure
He received the distress call and felt his heart sink because the last thing that he really wanted to get involved with was more pointless fighting. He’d spent a lot of time lately not fighting so he could continue collecting information and hopefully be able to compile it all into something useful. The heavy golden tome he’d received as a prize from Celsus was very helpful in recording all of his notes. By now it was probably the third time he’d rewritten everything, so it at least didn’t seem all over the place. Besides, he left enough room to add additional notes later.
When his phone vibrated again, he expected to see another part of the distress call, maybe an addendum, but it was Skadi and his heart sunk further. Already he had a bad feeling about all this.
[Text to Skadi: Yeah, I’m here too. Everything okay where you are? Sounds like we’re all spread out. ]
He didn’t want to distract her too much, but he really wanted to see if she knew who else was around her. For the moment it seemed as though everyone around him was just trying to figure out what was happening and what they needed to do. Obeorn shook his head when a senshi (Morgan) called out to see if he knew anything. He was about to head towards the other energy signatures when Negaverse officers decided to appear.
Already knew this was going to be bad. The others seemed to be in conversation with the Captains, so he did his best to slip towards the funeral home to have a look around, hoping to find something that could cause at least a distraction. Oberon figured the more people who were distracted, the better. Like moths to a flame…

Finally have a couple days off to tag! Sorry about the delay!
He knew the plan, knew what was supposed to happen. They were, again, confronting order over the fate of a knight. This time however this really was a battle over the knights fate. Weaponless, at the moment, the General had been standing near to the run down church. It was such a shame that such a place had come to the fate that this church had come to. It wasn't that he was religious though...so which it was a shame...it didn't upset any morals some might have.
Spotting Shalott not too far away he felt a smirk tug at his lips. Once, a long time ago, they hadn't been on such bad terms. Those bridges, whatever they had been, had long been burnt and in there remains was nothing good. He knew she wouldn't hesitate to attack him if he made a move...and he wouldn't hesitate to do the same.
It was when she went for Wither, one of his team mates, that the Generals weapon was summoned and he moved in to join the fray. Teleporting in close, wanting to close the distance quickly, he brought his weapon to bare as he swung it down towards the knight.
"Not so fast. I'm not going allow you to have the Captain." No, that was his Captain and a member of his team. So they fell under his protection, Shalott was about to find out what that meant.
Her heart twisted as she felt the General teleport over. The sickening feel of his aura washed over her, turning her stomach as well. She felt him appear but not fast enough to stop his weapon from tearing through her dress down her chest. It caught her shoulder and the skin split, shattering her senses with pain.
He'd done that once before and it hurt like a b***h then, too. Some things didn't appear to ever change.
"Your captain made a stupid decision to attack in front of those that are stronger than he is. You must not be teaching him to know when he's outclassed."
She was seething, bringing her garland up as if to call her attack, slipping her hands into the metal Earth symbols on either end. Only, the magic never came. She brought her violet eyes up and looked her opponent in the eye, keeping her expression hard but calm.
"Not this time," she growled, no longer afraid of hurting him. "Never again, in fact."
No longer afraid of hurting anyone or of her calling. She would die protecting her people as she assumed he would be, too. She was happy to listen and nurture and counsel those that might be swayed back to the light. Beni, however, was long past that point and she no longer cared to try to reason with him. It was pointless, and worthless, so why waste the breath?
Hoping that no one interfered yet, she used the metal ends of her garland to fortify her fist and turned to return the favor, clocking him hard across the jaw.
Two Negaverse Captains in the forms of an aqua-haired woman (Titanite) and a blonde man (Witherite) made themselves known at last and Forsterite no longer felt as outnumbered. Soon she noticed a general as well (Benitoite), but even he made himself busy. She tried to gauge the situation, still unoptimistic about their chances, but she couldn't just spend the night waiting and watching without risking herself. It may not have been smart or practical, but even if she was of a lower rank, she decided providing what aid she could to her superiors was the least she could do.
Not bothering to ask for instruction, Forsterite regarded each encounter and conflict, attempting to anticipate where and when it would be most efficient for her to step in. There seemed to be children present, and while she wasn't overly fond of children no matter the situation, it wouldn't have been all that victorious or helpful to get rid of the small fry when she could be going after others who were at least of her rank in age and power. She may have been new and weak, but she still wasn't so weak as to settle for bringing down only chibi senshi.
There. One of the Order ladies (Subamara) seemed to have been shaken up by something one of the Captains had said. Did they know each other? It appeared that whatever relation they had towards one another, the senshi was not willing to engage the blonde agent if she could avoid it. Instead, the dark-haired woman was backing up, seemingly looking for a better opening just as Forsterite herself was. Well, if they were both free, she'd be willing to take her on.
Although she was still having a little trouble understanding how to make sense of powered signatures, the lieutenant had a feeling that she was about to attack someone above her power and skill level. It mattered little, though. How could she hope to get better if she didn't step outside her comfort zone every now and then? Besides, most everyone else seemed to be occupied at the moment, and wouldn't it be all that more satisfying if she actually managed to take down someone who statistically outmatched her?
She had to try. Starting at a walk and then a run, she let out a cry as an expulsion of air while tensing the muscles of her body and swinging her leg up in a kick aimed at her peer's head.
((So sorry I didn't see your post at first! OTL Just added a quick mention of your general as one of the fellow Negaverse agents that Forsterite spotted!))
