User ImageAedus had forgotten about their pizza and his stomach started to rumble a little, but he ignored it, he'd worry about that when they were safe. Aedus was ready to keep everyone that got to close to Nim at arm's length. He'd punch someone if they ran over Nimah. Val could tell anyone he wasn't above fighting a female if they started it. "If it is a joke it's a sick joke and whoever started it should be arrested." Aedus growled looking at the imp, they didn't look like this was a joke. He nodded and said "Yea mom and dad are at the stadium they should be fine." At least Aedus hoped so, he still growled and blamed his mom a lot for dragging him down here. He didn't want to lose her even if he was annoyed with her at times.

Aedus shook his head "I'm not sure, but familiars have their own natural survival instincts they will go into hiding till it safe I'm sure." Aedus patted Nim's shoulder and said "Don't worry it will be alright, I'm sure they'll be fine." Aedus gestured to the teachers and caretakers. "We should be ok." He said even though he wasn't really sure. Who knew what the hell was going on and why??

Aedus followed Nim as she went to help the freaked out geist, Aedus kept his mouth shut for the moment, so he didn't yell at the figure that panicking helped no one. He would let Nim talk to the geist she was the soft touch after all. Aedus sighed and then grumbled. "Hey I'm Aedus do you need some help??" He forced out if Nimah hadn't given him the pleading look he wouldn't have said a damn thing.

This was the exact opposite of what Fasik had figured would happen for today. The Hallows Eve festival had been going well and now, well, this almost didn't seem real. A state of emergency? What could they possibly be facing if it put the Below into such a panicked frenzy? All he had wanted to do was volunteer at the Festival to help with miscellaneous injuries: a scraped knee, a upset stomach… not being shuffled into the auditorium without much warning.

Though, what warning could they have really given him? Maybe it would be a good thing for him to be here. He could help the children, put them at ease even if he wasn't a teacher. It had been so long since he had something happen aside from a cranky patient or two, this seemed just too unreal. Children were crying over the monsters who were supposed to be residing in their ghost stories and the adults looked panicked as well.

Well, as things settled as much as they would for the time being, he figured he would make a point of talking to some of the other adults. He decided to approach a fallen. “Hey, so what do you think of all this?” Hmmm... maybe he should have introduced himself. Rude, Fasik, rude. It wasn't like he was at his office anymore. "I'm Fasik, by the way."

User Image Howl's ears reeled back and flattened when the screams over the speakers came. She growled wondering what it was, she had thought that this evacuation had been a test of the system but when the person appeared and started to make their statement it became clear that this was a real emergency. The Grimm's frown only deepened as the message ended and the others started to panic.

Howl was worried, very worried but she didn't usually exclaim emotions the same way others did and she stood quietly, her arms folded across her chest. She had to wonder if Turnip was okay where he was, even Gwen for that matter. She didn't think she was going to see them at this point, maybe she would be able to find someone else she knew. She wasn't able to see any of her team mates either.

User Image He hadn't expected anyone to take time out of their day to talk to him. His head raised slightly as a baphomet approached and handed him a water, eyes trailing from the bottle to her before, delicately, he accepted it, hands leaving his head.

"Thank you." He muttered softly, rolling the bottle in his hands before he hesitantly took a sip. It felt a little better. Just barely.

They still were going to di-

Before he could spiral back into that thought another person approached him. His eyes locked on her. Niamh. He didn't know that name. Did he know his? What was his na-

"Kappa." He blurted. He knew his name. He knew something other than the panic. "Repeat.... something?"

Crouching with her new friend, Niamh gave them a dazzling smile. "I like your name very much, Kappa." Despite the flutter in her own throat, she did her best to speak slowly, in a low voice. It was hard. Very hard. But she wanted to concentrate on her new friend. "How nice, one of your other friends brought you water. I'm pretty sure that's good too. " She nodded. I mean, it couldn't be bad. "If you, you know, repeat something like a mantra when you're feeling bad, it can help focus you on good thoughts. Like, if you say something like 'Things are getting better' over until you feel a little ... better. And it's self fulfilling. How cool is that?" Apparently even a mass evacuation and general sense of terror couldn't put a dent in the tiny Fey's perkiness levels.

She looked up at Aedus. "I'm glad that your parents are okay. I'm sure they're very safe where they are are. ... Like we are. " Her wings fluttered a bit, in fear, but she was determined to put a good face on this whole thing.

"I can't believe they'd let someone on the tvs like that." She shook her head. "At least we're all safe here. And I'm sure the teachers have a plan. They're teachers, after all!" She smiled again, and her stomach rumbled loudly. "I hope we're out of here in time for pizza..."

User ImageIllya wasn't really sure why she was here. She'd been a failure as a teacher, and so she had never expected to come back here ever again. But maybe it was the changing seasons, maybe it was more baby pictures from her brother in Cassiel's Watch, maybe it was this, maybe it was that...who knew? She wouldn't be a very good mother, she knew--if you couldn't be a teacher, how could you be a mother?

And yet, she thought she'd done a good job with Andromeda. Maybe? He'd been awfully upset the last time she saw him...Ugh. But she'd been here nonetheless, at the Academy, in the orphanage. Looking to adopt. Haunted Hallows was the best time to talk to administrators there, even if it wasn't the best time to talk to the kids themselves.

But then the alarm came up, and Illya felt her old military instincts perk up. She was technically still in the army, even if she wasn't on active duty. Some old instinct of hers was awake now, awake and alert. She let herself be herded to the auditorium, but was careful to keep a close eye on stragglers. That would be the worst thing that could happen here--people getting separated from the group. The broadcast made her instincts screamed. An attack was coming. She needed to be ready. But she had no weapons, nothing with which to defend herself except defensive magic!

That would just have to be enough. She murmured a quick prayer to the saints, and was about to make her way over to Headmistress Ava to offer her assistance when a Naga-hybrid approached her. She smiled at him. "My name's Illya, Fasik. I wish we could have met under less...unpleasant circumstances." She looked around the room, trying to figure out an honest answer that wouldn't incite panic. "I think that this is going to be a long night," she said at last. "I think the staff here are well-organized, though."

User ImageWhy today of all days? The one time she had wanted things to go well, everything goes and gets destroyed by some sort of monster. Where did everyone go? Were there separate places to go? Rica had run herself through the crowds looking for Kuchena, but she was nowhere to be found. Now she was stuck in here with freshies crying and screaming and everyone else in a tizzy. This wasn’t how today should have gone.

She grabbed herself her “rations” from the emergency stand, well, it was nearly a concession stand of emergency supplies, but she couldn’t call it that when the staff had put it together for everyone’s sake. The thought depressed her and slumped against the far wall. This was crazy. A single fight and she loses her best friend. She was hoping that Kuchena was alright.

A sharp color brought her attention to a fallen close by and she figured, hey, let’s make a friend in the chaos. “Hey, want a cookie? I don’t mean to sound creepy, but it seems like they’re going fast.”

Ruby was pleasantly annoyed. Haunted Hallows had been going... alright. She'd dressed up as a gangster, probably, with her leather jacket and tight leather pants. She had even put together a realistic-looking bat with nails hammered through it, a grisly weapon for a grisly costume. And, of course, it only looked so realistic because it was an actual bat with actual nails. Nobody had asked, so she hadn't told. But now the rumors flitted throughout the room, even after that awful video, and Ruby found herself, at most, disappointed. At least, intrigued. The fallen was curious about what was happening outside, and wondered if she might be able to get a glance through the window when the school was secured. But for now, she stood somewhere off to the side in the auditorium, fiddling a cigarette between her fingers. If she were allowed, she'd light it right now.

Frankly, Ruby wasn't even interested in the rations they'd provided. When a goblin approached her offered her a cookie, she jumped in surprise. She hadn't even realized she'd been that lost in thought. "Uh, sure, thanks," the junior conceded, taking a cookie and eating it in silence for a few moments. It was peanut butter, and it tasted kind of alright, but it was sweet for the school staff to prepare for any kind of emergency. She usually enjoyed the festivals, even if she'd never admit it to anyone's face. She scuffed the floor with her shoe. Perhaps she'd make small talk.

"This blows, huh?" she said, her slightly raspy voice cracking a little. Maybe she was just a tiny bit scared. She turned to face the goblin, and realized that even in the flourescent light, she was pretty. "My name's Ruby. What's yours?" She attempted a feeble smile, but under her attempted mask of toughness and her actual nerves, it faltered.

Raa didn't know what to do. Everyone was in such a state of panic, and the fact that he and his siblings had been separated so wholly was alarming all on its own. At least, from this vantage point, Raa could see his father Aten bustling around after Annabelle, following close behind wherever she went, checking in on everyone.

Raa wanted to be with his dad ... scared and feeling alone in such a vast crowd, Raa could feel his tail reflexively curl around himself, trying to give himself some small comfort. He wanted to run over to his dad. Hug him and cry and be the small child he felt like he never got to be. But, Raa had to be brave now. If he started crying and kicking up a fuss and stole his father's attention away, he'd just be a burden. Maybe ... maybe Ella was here? Maybe he could see if she was here ... yes, what about Ella?

Raa tried to scan through the crowd, keeping an eye out for the familiar tail and face of his heart's affections. Raa prayed that she was alright and well ...

Marrow was in the middle of taunting some little shrimp of an Imp when all the sudden the chaos spread like wildfire through the Academy. At first all he felt was anger due to the abrupt interruption of his favorite pastime, though it was quickly replaced with confusion the more he heard the caretakers whispering as they escorted a heard of Freshlings to safety. Why were they acting so bizarre? This was so out of the ordinary.

The little hybrid was plopped into the center of madness, loud panicked voices chattering and demanding answers. Answers that Marrow wouldn't mind knowing as well, but who was going to pay any mind to some baffled child in a moment like this? His eyes scanned the room, finding many having panic attacks or growing angry at the lack of freedom - fists pounding against the doors! Honestly, this looked and felt a lot like what Marrow thought insanity might be.

Then the broadcast played, and the one they had come to know as X drew Marrow in instantly. It was almost as though it were story time and he was huddling closer with a captured and awe filled expression. The torment they brought some mysterious Imp had made him... laugh? Only the must subtle of giggles escaped Marrow's lips as he stared with wide captivated eyes. Once the message had been delivered this twisted child was probably the only one in the crowd with an amused and intrigued smile on his youthful lips.

Anybody Please!
Marrow is out of his element right now. I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to interact with anybody just so long as he isn't alone.

It had been a pretty good night as far as Ganymede was concerned. They'd hit up some haunted houses, he'd had a reason to get closer than he normally would have.... he was able to forget some things that normally played on an endless quiet loop in the back of his mind... but then everything had changed. Initially, he had the same sort of reaction expected from a younger teen: OF COURSE things would go wrong! Of course!! He was finally having a GOOD TIME.

But as time went on and things became more panicked without signs of any change, his initial kneejerk reaction to be angry faded into into unease. Coupled with Foras nearly getting toppled, then actually being shielded by one of his wings- well... Gany was actually starting to get a bit panicked for once in his life. Little sparks of light danced through his markings in erratic patterns as he made his way to the academy with the others. Foras didn't really have to waste breath on telling him not to let go- the iron grip he had on one of Foras's hands was definitely not going to let up any time soon.

And then the broadcast. Ganymede fixated on one of the visible screens, his full attention drawn in by the figure and their voice. Okay. This was a little... weird. Creepy story time? No, Ava would never have let something like this fly- where was she, anyway? He didn't see her- he saw Kirket setting up wards... This wasn't pretend. "Did you really think it was a prank?" He spared a glance up at Foras for a moment, grip only tightening. The places Foras was holding onto him burned- but he preferred it. It was something real to focus on.

"Yes-" He paused, eyes flitting back to Foras's face before scanning over the crowd again, then back to Foras, "No, that was a lie. There are too many people in here. Are you okay?" Nine he wanted to get out. He needed to get out. Couldn't they go sit in their dorms?

Kirket had just finished putting up the wards- just in time it seemed. Hopefully that would help ease some of the unease among the group. Admittedly, putting them up was helping his own nerves- work mode only did so much to calm him. He was about to go see if he could find Ava when Kunibert approached him. The hybrid blinked, ears perking up as he spoke. A missing freshling.

"Erion..." He squinted slightly as if trying to remember the child's face. "I haven't seen him yet, if I do I will definitely seek Eilwen out! Thank you for letting me know- in the meantime, I'll let Annabelle know we may have a straggler." He certainly hoped they didn't. Annabelle would definitely find him if Erion was missing, though, that he was sure of...

"Is there anything else I can help you with?"

User Image She liked his name? Kappa blinked at her, sitting slightly up on his heels. She was speaking slowly, and usually he'd find that offensive, but right now? It helped his speeding brain carefully latch on to each word.

His head raised to look at the other person, Aedus, then back at the fey. Kids. They were younger than him. Yet, here they were, comforting him. Slowly, Kappa seemed to lower his shoulders, watching. He didn't have a mantra. Nothing good, anyway. All he ever liked to repeat were things that drove him further down his anxiety attacks.

Then, she mentioned food, and his stomach growled loudly in agreement.

"A-ah.... sorry."

User ImageKunibert glared at the wards. Someone should really try to explain to people that wards weren't really all that comforting. Hey, wait, actually--couldn't he just warn Kirket now? "I don't sink zat vards are a good idea," he said. "It's good to have zem if ve're in danger, yes, but having zem means zat ve are in danger. I sink zat putting up vards might panic people." He'd just caught sight of Jie over Kirket's shoulder. She was with that porcelain doll from earlier. He remembered the Bakeneko's response to seeing the doll "move" at the haunted house. People like Jie could panic at that. "I understand vhat you're going for, sir, but I sink you should have done it more subtly."

Kuni nodded. He wasn't satisfied--not yet. He wouldn't be until he'd found this Erion. He'd picked a job, and he was going to stick to it. "Sank you for your help," he said. "I vould like to know, zo, if zere's anysing I can do to help people." It was getting annoyingly loud in here. He would have liked it better if people could just...quiet down? Shut the hell up, in fact? "Maybe I could get somesing for ze freshlings, some blankets or sleeping bags or somesuch. Or maybe ve should put a movie on some of ze TV sets so zat ze freshlings have somesing nice to vatch instead of zis..." He gestured towards the television, "masked vackjob scat."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. She had been fine, really. Her eyes had drifted to gaze at who else was in the auditorium, the back of her mind firing false images. He wasn't here. Or, if he was, she couldn't see him. That was a relief, perhaps. She wasn't sure. How did she feel?

Then, her eyes laid on someone else. Raa. The boy who had tried to comfort her a few weeks prior. For a second she hesitated. Were they friends? She didn't know. It wasn't as if she was used to this. The only friends she had were made as a tiny child. She didn't quite know what making new friends were like, or the qualifications. No. Raa seemed to enjoy her company, and right now Ella wouldn't mind being near someone she knew. Even if vaguely. So, she headed to him, approaching the back of the hybrid and, delicately, tapping his shoulder.

"Raa." And then, that was when it hit her.

Where was her mom and sibling? Her dad? Suddenly, that's when the fear hit, and she immediately blurted to the boy before he truly had a chance to see it was her; "I'm scared."

Great. Now he really wouldn't want to be her friend.
