Kirra focused on her present as her mum made the Professor speech, trying to unwrap it as carefully as Briar had wrapped it for her, though excitement tore the edges. She squealed happily at the Cutest Pencil Case Ever, and the book was all tips to help her be a better Pokemon trainer! They were soo perfect!
“Thank you Briar, I love them!”
But even more people were starting to arrive, and as the host she jumped up to greet them too.
“Nadia! Sabrina! Thank you for coming! And thank you for the presents!” she added, accepting the gifts and leading the girls over to the food and the rest of her friends. “You’re not late, the game’s just starting! We’re going to be Pokemon Trainers! See the cupcakes!”
Kirra hadn’t known about the cupcakes. Her mum had kept that a surprise. She was very excited for her turn, but she had all this important unwrapping and thanking to do, and really her guests should all play first.
“I hope you didn’t have to walk too far,” she told Sabrina, “because we’re going to walk more when we play Pokemon Go. If you get tired, you should come and eat chocolate, it helps!”
She dropped back onto the picnic rug to continue opening her presents, placing herself where she could best watch the pokemon-catching game and scan the park in case of any new arrivals. She didn’t see any other kids from school, but she did notice an older girl coming over. She was more her cousin Gigi’s age than Kirra’s age, but her yellow clothes were really cute! And her hat looked just like ears!
Okay, so she hadn’t invited the girl, but she waved anyway. “Oh my gosh, is your hat Umbreon? That’s so cool!”

‘Professor Juniper’ grinned at the older boy she had seen her daughter play with at the park. Kirra talked about Briar a lot.
“Awesome!” she said, tossing the bouncy pokeball gently to Briar. “Let’s see your technique, Trainer!”
She stepped to the side, giving Briar a clear space in front of the Pikachu target.

Whilst it wasn't something that he would admit to openly, Briar had been nervously wondering what Kirra would think of his present.
He had been relieved when she seemed to like it, although he had played it cool by giving her a small but genuine smile.
There had been others arriving as he walked over to'Professor Juniper'aka Kirra's Mum and Briar had nodded as he took the red-and-white bouncy ball from her before seriously studying the target for a few moments"Kay."
He threw the ball carefully too, opting to throw it from a distance, because there was no way Briar was going to do something like throw a crappy throw - not with all the other kids there - particularly as he was definitely one of the oldest - if not the actual oldest of the party goers.
The ball hit the target with a solid thunk and whilst it wasn't dead centre, it definitely looked like it had hit pretty close to it - at least from where he was standing.
Sabrina watched as the party host opened some of her gifts. She hoped her small gift like party bag was good enough. For she had filled it with an eevee evolutions bracelet, some valor arm warmers, a small sylveon plush, and a pickup page for a snorlax beanbag chair. She wanted to get a little bit of everything since she wasn't sure what all she liked 100% and with all that she hoped she'd like at least one of them. If she was lucky.
"I'm glad I could make it! It looks super fun," Sabrina said with smile, "Oh no not all. I don't mind the excersice. Ooh chocolate! Thanks for the idea. Since I don't think I could pass that up if I tried." Most people didn't know but she loved chocolate, but then again who didn't it's chocolate. little by little she was becoming happier she came. Since every one seemed really nice so far and she was sure she'd have tons of fun as she looked around the party. Wondering where to head next.
That was when she noticed a boy around her age throwing what she though to be a pokeball. It couldn't be could it? Catching pokemon!? Her eyes began to shine just like when she had solved a mystery.
Amigar looked up from her phone and smiled brightly. "Oh hello!" she said towards the younger girl. "Why yes it is," she said as she spun around once to show the girl her tail too. "I'm glad somwone noticed. It's actually my favorite pokemon. Do you have a favorite?" She said as she finished Waving back she looked around. It looked like an epic pokemon party. almost as if someone was having a birthday party.
If they were it was definitely the coolest party she had ever seen. She wished kids her age would have half as cool party's as this. Just cause cause she had to know if she was right or not,[B ] "Is this your party by chance?"[/] she said looking at all the fun games and lure patches surrounding her. There were even kids catching pokemon - what an awesome idea for a game she thought. As she slowly started thinking of some pokemon themed deserts.
She always seemed to have sugar and baking on her mind.

Abby returned Kirra's wave, still a bit too far away to wish her a Happy Birthday. Yelling across the park wasn't exactly lady like so instead she started to make her way closer. She hadn't gotten very far when a lady in a lab coat blew on a whistle and beckon everyone over. Obviously the festivities were about to begin so she picked up her pace to join the others.
She didn't get the references but it was pretty clear what the game was, the decorations and theme were so cute. She loved those cupcakes. Holding back she watched as one of the guests stepped up to give the game a shot. Others went up to Kirra to give her their presents and Abby went to join them. She waited politely, slipping her bag in with the rest of the other presents, as an obviously older girl chatted with Kirra.
Apparently her hat was some kind of pokemon, not that Abby recognized it, but she absolutely adored her outfit. That dress was so cute the twelve year old asked, "Where did you get that dress? Its super cute."

I am such a spaz >.<' Sorry about going quiet again
Kirra paused to cheer as Briar took a turn at the pokemon-catching game, but then she had to speed up her unwrapping as more presents were laid out before her. Her friends were so amazing!
“Thank you! Oh wow, thank you so much!” she told them each in turn as the beautiful wrapping paper came away to reveal all of the pokemon-themed treasures. A monopoly game and plush from Abby, an actual DS with games from Nadia, and a whole lot of awesome things from Sabrina!
The bracelet and armwarmers she slipped on immediately with a huge grin, and the Eevee and Sylveon plushes were pulled into her lap together, while the games were set aside carefully beside the presents from Briar, where they wouldn’t get hurt.
“You guys are the best!”
She smiled happily up at the older Umbreon girl who had joined them, delighted at the tail on her dress as she twirled.
“Yes, it’s my birthday! I’m ten!” She stood up, hugging Eevee and Sylveon still, though she knew she’d have to put them down for the games. It was hard to have favourites when there were sooo many cute pokemon, but it didn’t take her long to answer. “I love Pikachu, and all of the Eevees!”
*
The Pokemon Professor clapped her hands approvingly as Briar hit the Pikachu target on his first throw. She was pleased to see that Kirra’s older friends were still up for an old-fashioned party game.
“Nicely done! Clearly a Poke-Master in the making! Grab a visor and certificate, Briar. Now, the big question, which Pokemon do you want as your starter?”
She tilted the cupcake box towards Briar so he could choose his favourite from the frosted Bulbasaurs, Squirtles and Charmanders, then turned back to the rest of the party guests.
“Okay, who’s next?”

OOC: Sorry for the disappearing for such a long time. If anyone is still interested, this is still going. Late arrivals still more than welcome. Three Pokemon Go lures are active, snacks are out and there’s a game for the kids to play. You don’t have to wait for NPC mum to play the game, just go right ahead – take a turn, claim a visor and cupcake!

Jack was very late to the party, he knew, but that was fine because the only people likely to be expecting him were Kirra's parents. He'd actually come earlier when they had started setting up in the park, but upon realizing that they were having a Pokemon Go party, he'd gone up and asked the parents if he could maybe provide some entertainment. He was a little old to be attending a 10-year-old's birthday party, he knew, especially since he wasn't even familiar with the girl or go to her school, but he liked the creativity her parents were putting into her theme and had an idea himself to go along with it.
The entertainment he meant to provide was something along the lines of a clown or slight-of-hand magician, but instead of showing up as either of those, his costume was that of a Team Rocket member. A grunt, to be exact. He didn't want to scare the kids, so he planned to be extra silly to show them he wasn't to be taken too seriously. Most Rocket grunts were known to be easily taken down by kids much younger than them, after all, even canonically.
His black turtle-neck with the big red 'R' on it should have been obvious enough, but Jack decided to go the whole way with an additional black pair of pants, black cap, gray boots, gloves, and belt. He also carried a large black trash bag over his shoulder like a bandit who was making off with some stolen goods. His phone was tucked into one back pocket, his Nintendo DS in the other, and his belt had some toy pokeballs strapped to them as he finally made his way back over to Kirra's party after getting everything ready. It seemed a great deal of guest and other people had arrived during the time he'd spent getting ready. He grinned; the more, the merrier.
As he arrived, it seemed the kids were playing a game involving throwing a red-and-white bouncy ball at a hanging target with a pikachu pictured at the center of it. He waited patiently until each kid had taken their turn - each kid who seemed like they wanted to have a go, at least - before making his grand entrance. One press of a button on the phone in his back pocket to play his theme music and he was all set.
"MUHAHAHAHA!!" He cried as the music started up, jumping out from behind the target. "To protect the world from devastation!" He paused theatrically. "No, that can't be right...uh...to infect the world with devastation! To unite - I mean, blight - all people in every nation! To denounce the evil - er, goodness of truth and love! To extend our reach - wrath! - to the stars above!" Though he may have started out menacing, Rocket Jack made a show of losing confidence the farther he got in his motto.
"Team Rocket, circling Earth all day and night! Surrender now, or prepare to fight!" He stuck out his index finger to point at the group of kids clustered around eating cupcakes. Then his face fell dramatically. "Wait...how many pokemon trainers are you? You can't all be trainers, right?" He took a tentative step back, clutching the black trash bag slung over his shoulder more protectively.
((I'M SORRY I know I'm extremely late to the party, but if anyone is interested in attacking the Rocket who just showed up, he's free game!))
Briar hadn't needed to give much thought to which cupcake he was going for because he had pretty already decided to go for a charmander-frosted cupcake.
Both bulbasaur and squirtle were o-kay enough pokemon, but charmander was a dragon-type and eventually evolved into charizard and whilst charizard wasn't his favourite pokemon, it didn't stop it from being a pretty neat one.
He'd picked up a visor and certificate as well, but had carefully set both of them to the side because whilst he'd played the game he wasn't really that up for wandering around with the visor.
It had made sense to check out the lures at that point and Briar had opted to to go check out the one over by the playground..
Or at least that had been his attention until the sound of the Team Rocket theme tune started up back over by where the party game was taking place.
Huh?
It had him turning around to look back, his reddish eyes visibly startled.
Was this supposed to be part of the party or something?
He glanced over in Kirra's direction as he munched on the rest of his cupcake and gave an unimpressed glance over the in the direction of the guy dressed up in a Team Rocket costume.
