User Name: JetAlmeara
Name: Canicus
Reasoning for name: Although 'Born of Fire' could be considered somewhat literal in this instance I feel that the name was given less because of its relevance to his bloodline and more because of the hopes of his mother. Fire rages and burns and destroys everything weak in its path but it also tempers and creates and molds, anything which survives the inferno inevitably comes out stronger then they were before.
Temper: Focused
Are you an active RPer?: Yes
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: Yes
----------------
Personality:

What do you get when you cross a silver tongue liar and an amoral jerk? A Con Artist, a manipulator, someone who is willing to take what they need by whatever means necessary and be damned how that effects you and your life. Canicus has a tactical mind and a very abstract honor code, blessed with the ability to see the bigger picture and unburdened by pointless moral rules Canicus is both flexible and adaptive in his pursuits. Capable of both careful delicate manipulation and sheer violence he rather prides himself on being someone not trifled with and is driven to get the job done.

Canicus is an intelligent stallion and rarely does something without having a reason for it, he is perfectly capable of civil, even pleasant conversation but even those close to him know that disclosing of personal thoughts, feelings or failings are carefully stored away as potential fodder down the road, a fact that is easy to forget when he's playing the nice guy.

Plot Ideas:

Winged Ally - In accordance with his culture (one of the few things the stallion actually holds in high regard) Canicus will seek to bond strongly with a raven, a winged ally that will help him in his machinations.

Into the Flames - Canicus is not a stupid stallion and when you are born with a gift you do not throw it away - thusly the stallion will seek out mentors in the art of fire, learning to use the magic he was born with to the very best of his ability

This is not the Merc your looking for - When hired to do a job Canicus fancies himself judge, jury and sometimes Executioner. Hired by some poor soul to handle a situation the stallion agrees and begins to gather his information, create his plan...however the situation is not handled in quite the manner his employer foresaw . This plot could go in many directions and would require plotting & several RP's with the other party, perhaps Canicus decides burning a whole herd down is the best way to teach the other party a lesson rather then the beat down he was hired for..or he uncovers lies from his Employer that make that poor soul the victim instead. Either way its quite clear that Canicus follows his own plan and no one else's.

Commander - There are times when you need more then your own four hooves to get a job done, what do you do in this situation? Beguile your way into a neighboring herd and take over their army of course. Playing the part of Commander is a rather fun exercise for Canicus but a brief one as he has no use for either the army or the herd once his goals have been met.

A rival like no other - Although most of those he goes against are about as intelligent as your average fly (to his mind at least) there are those rare few who actually stand above and Canicus takes a great deal of pleasure in trying to outwit them in order to gain what it is he wants. The stakes will be high and the games tangled and twisted - just the way he likes it.

* Of course this is only a small sampling of the Plots I would like to do with him, family plots and the like would always be welcome and much looked forward too!
----------------
Choose your own entry:

Canicus' Honor Code

Obey - Obey only those strong enough to enforce it and even then only until one has learned enough to overpower.
Learn - Watch, Listen, Remember. Small facts, tiny things, those which might not seem important now can be of infinite importance later, there is no limit to what one can learn and as such one should never stop learning.
Civility - Although fear and force can often get you what you need being social can sometimes get you more.
Bond - There is only one bond in your life which should not be broken, all others should be left behind once all usefulness has been gleaned from them.
Gain - Do whatever it takes to gain what you need, the lives of lesser creatures have no meaning in the long road of your life.
Mercy - Give mercy only to those who are enlightened enough to earn it, those with ravens of their own and wings upon which to fly.

(Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm assuming you want an RP entry of some sort for him.)

Anything goes. It's 100% up to anyone entering how they enter. The only requirements are that something needs to be communicated about the character. If I look at what I'm given and I don't feel like I've gotten anything out of it then it's probably not going to be ranked super high on my list. (I'm not the only judge, but I'll leave it to Nayci to talk about what she values.)

Pretty prose or a pretty picture for the sake of being pretty won't be very highly valued by me. Neither will be going out of the box on an entry method just for the sake of being different. Someone could put on a puppet show and unless it met my one requirement it wouldn't score any extra points.

:3 Really I just want folks to enter how THEY feel most comfortable entering.

I'm ok with people changing their entries up until the time the contest closes. If you do though if you could put the original entry in spoilers I'd appreciate it. It won't be a strike against you! It's just that if someone's idea for a character shifts or changes it would be really neat to look and see how.

One over three has said it best and I'm in the same boat. I don't care what people choose to do for their entry so long as it shows me something unique about the character they're going for. Something that tell's me, yeah! I can see that happening! And let me plot with you! I want everyone to have fun and be comfortable coming up with something, be it poetry, short story, possible plotline, digital art, traditional art, etc etc for examples. The goal for me is to be really excited and pumped for the possibilities the character creates when I read them. :3

User Name: Kamiki
Name: Presage
Reasoning for name: another word for 'Omen'
Temper: Portent
Are you an active RPer?: Generally yes. Real life has to come first, but I love to RP when I can
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: Of course!
----------------
Personality: Presage is obsessed with omens. Almost to the point of paranoia, he reads hidden meaning into nearly everything. He believes that, with enough time and research, he can unlock the secrets of the whole universe; that learning to read the omens in everyday life will reveal to him the true meaning of everything.

This means he's constantly observing everything. From the wind, to storms, to motions of the herding animals; nothing happens without a reason.

Because of this, some others find him hard to be around, because they feel they have to watch everything they say and do. However, while on a bit of the cold side, Presage is not necessarily cold or cruel by any means. He's noble and proud due to his lineage, very dedicated to her friends and herd mates as well.

Plot Ideas:

- The Sponge - As a foal, Presage would be obsessed with stories. This may be what starts his fascination with omens and meaning; the stories he was told as a child ignited a curiosity and creativity within her that he would carry for the rest of his life. In the stories, everything happens for a reason.

- The Observer - As he grows older, Presage would begin to mentally document every occurrence of his life. Everything that seemed out of place would be cataloged and analyzed; seeing how it connected to events that happened later.

- Even a Broken Clock Is Right Twice a Day - At some point, Presage will be correct about one of his predictions for something rather major. This would involve a lot of planning with someone else, hopefully - some plot involving a herd takeover or death - but Presage will have predicted the outcome beforehand by reading omens and therefore would strengthen his belief.

Presage lifted his lips form the cold water of the stream, his eyes trailing over the rolling hills of the new territory they had uncovered. He closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to clear his head and absorb the reality around him.

He listened; he could hear the babbling of the stream, the sound of the wind rustling through the long grasses of the meadow, and the bell-like melodious songs of small birds as they flitted about.

He inhaled; taking in the smell of the fragrant flowers and grass. The smell of pine in the distance carried on the wind. He also was comforted by the familiar smell of the rest of his family as they milled about nearby.

When he was centered, he opened her eyes. It was an impossibly beautiful day; still and peaceful.

Too still and peaceful.

The fur was standing up on the back of his neck as her eyes scanned the skies. There, in the distance, a lone bird crossed the skies. He narrowed her eyes; it wasn't a crow or a raven... no, it seemed to be a condor. It's black silhouette streaked across the blue still canvas and he felt her heart seize up in his chest.

"We should go," he said to her brother. "This place is about to befall tragedy. It's far too late in the day for a condor to be out hunting alone. It's running from something..."

User Name: SwordOfTheDarkOnes
Name: Rakesh
Reasoning for name: Rakesh means "Lord of the full-moon day", the reason I picked this name was simple. His father looks like he embodies the fury of the Sun, his mother is the dark side of the Moon. Taking those broad ideas I found this name and felt it suited him the most.
Temper: Steadfast
Are you an active RPer?: With the right partner yes, I'm active in other shops, but sorta lost that here. [I try my hardest and I'm currently in a RP]
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: I won't cuss but I wanna...so I'll say YUP!!!!
----------------
Personality: Steadfast. Watchful. Kind.
Steadfast- Rakesh will never let his family down and will never allow others to talk about them. He will fly to their aid if he hears their call. He would never let them feel as if they were left behind.

Watchful- He never lets anyone go unnoticed if their near his siblings. If someone's proved to be a hazard to the clan he'll make sure to note where they are and report it properly.

Kind- Only seen by Clan. He has a hidden kindness that would extend to any offspring he sires or his siblings produce.

Plot Ideas:

Warrior's Heart- Rakesh patrols a small part of their territory with his Grandmother. They run into a issue and he helps his Grandmother out of a tight pinch [maybe, this is open to tweaking]

Warrior's Call- Rakesh has a day with his father?

Warrior's Soul- potential fling plot here...

----------------
Choose your own entry: Rakesh surveyed the small flock of ravens he was tasked with watching till their parents came back. He blinked a few times looking down at the small birds who stared back up at him. He slowly looked up and around wondering just what in the world was he supposed to do now? He supposed watching them was enough for now. He laid on his side as he just...stared.

The baby ravens stared back.

This went on for several minutes. Finally Rakesh sighed as he tilted his head at a infant who hopped out to sit on his front hoof. "Well...what now?"

Soon a few others hopped out and the foal found himself dragged into a game of tag. The babies easily keeping him on the tips of his hooves. When the parents returned all the babies were asleep on Rakesh. The foal at ease with the situation.

User Name: Fatal Irony
Name: Surtr
Reasoning for name: Surtr is a the fire giant in Norse mythology. In Soquili canon I imagine it as a wish for the foal to be large, strong, and talented in his fire 'suti powers. Someone imposing enough to inspire others to follow so he might help bring the scattered Raven Lords together. Likely he will fail that hope XD
Temper: Explosive
Are you an active RPer?: I try to be! Sometimes life gets in the way, but I love plotting and rp
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: Absolutely! It's a really interesting concept
----------------
Personality: Surtr at first seems a quiet stallion, with his stoic expression and rare words. To the unwary he is a cool and collected individual, in constant control of his features and who speaks with great care. Under the surface however he is a constant simmer of rage that every now and again builds to a fever-pitch and is released in a display of fiery power. Woe unto those who illicit his ire when it's time for an eruption! He will take out this pent-up energy on whoever is near - save his raven. Though she has the sense to leave Surtr be when his emotions are running high. Practicing his fire abilities seems to sooth his simmering rage somewhat, and as a result he practices often and is quite proficient at controlling fire.
Plot Ideas:

First, Need to get him a female raven, named Pele. She will form a very close bond to him, such that she will be able to predict his moods better than anyone.

Second, I will ponder these out should I win XD

----------------
Choose your own entry:

They were all around him. Others. Soquili of some sort, though at this point he neither knew or cared what. Everything had turned red for him, his vision blurred and wavering so that there was nothing to tell him if it was enemies or friends around him. He felt the rage bubbling inside; he could no longer contain it. It would take him, and the others would pay the price. He was beyond the point of caring. Their words had long turned to static in his head, reminiscent of steam escaping a narrow crevice.

There was a fire burning. He could smell it. He could feel it. He dug his feet into the dirt in anticipation, finally releasing his hold and allowing the fire to consume him, unleashing his power in an arc that spread out from him in all directions. The hissing static of voices grew shrill and panicked as he closed his eyes and unleashed his fury.

When he opened them again he was alone. His vision had returned to normal and the fire within him was back down to a smolder. He looked around at the charred plants and scorched earth, breathing in the smoke quietly. Whoever the others had been, they had fled. He took a deep breath and spread his wings to take to the air and continue his task. As he ascended, something caught his eye and he turned to find Pele approaching. Her timing was impeccable.

User Name: Kyrieko
Name: Betsalel the Lynx
Reasoning for name: "Betsalel" is a Hebrew name meaning 'in the shadow' and was chosen for the foal's dark coloring and wish for him to embrace that particular nature. "Lynx", in Greek, Norse and North American mythology are known as 'Keeper of Secrets' and is a name he develops when it becomes clear that is his calling.
Temper: Shrouded
Are you an active RPer?: Heavy preference towards plotting, but really sloooooow RPer.
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: Absolutely!
----------------
Personality: Where his mother has a silvery tongue and his father a foreboding presence, Lynx tends to be silent and ominous, like the shadows he feels most comfortable in. But he's got a temper like the fire he was born from when greatly agitated or pushed too far. Something that doesn't happen too often as Lynx is a patient creature. He prefers to remain silent, most believing him to be mute. Shadows do not speak, they listen. They observe. They hold your secrets. Witness the darkest sides of your soul. The only exception to his silence is when he speaks to his family. Or most importantly, his raven, the only creature he trusts absolutely.

Lynx is a collector of these secrets. He believes they hold power over you, like a name. Which is why he will never let anyone know his true name except his family. He prides himself in his trade of providing valuable information...for a price. Give him secrets you wouldn't tell another soul and he'll give you black mail to use on your greatest enemy or annoying neighbor.
Plot Ideas:
- As a foal, Lynx will begin learning the value that a secret or not widely known information about an individual can be worth. He'll also begin dabbling in his limited suti powers (would love for him to have some shadow suti abilities!)
- He feels a little put off by the fact his brothers are not as dark as he is, wondering if he's inferior in some way. This will be the beginning of his realization that he is a creature more of shadow and not fire.
- When he gains his raven, he will discover a bond so precious and realize that this is the type of information that can be used against someone. He'll protect his deep bond to his raven and begin gathering secrets from others.
- Once he's gained his raven, Lynx will realize that he was never meant to follow the Dedicated path of a Raven Lord but instead that of a Primordial.
- As an adult, he'll be quite skilled in his trade. Enough so that there are probably enemies he's made and those that try to seek him out for exchange information.
- Has to deal with run-ins with enemies and dangerous folk.

Lurking. Quiet. Observing. Learning. Collecting.

These are the words he chose to live by. Words he whispers to himself every night. They made up his entire being. What he accomplished each day. How he grew. But he wasn't alone. No, never alone. Though many probably assumed this.

A soft chuckle escaped.

"What amuses you so tonight?" A lyrical voice inquired.

His most trusted friend. "Only how appearances tell a fraction of the story." Lynx mused. He only received a peck to the head.

"Does that brain of yours ever cease to function? The twilight hours are upon us." His raven informed him.

Lynx snorted and stretched his wings. "Ah, so my work should just be starting, is that what you're hinting?" He teased, watching the shadows begin to consume the land. This was when he felt the most comfortable. When the land was his to prowl. His brothers could do what they pleased during the day. But the night was his. It was when secrets could be discovered. And nightmares could roam at will.

"Sometimes I believe you were bred from an owl." The raven said dryly, making himself comfortable on his perch. Which happened to be Lynx's rump.

"And I am quite positive that you were bred from a parrot with all the fussing you do!" He laughed. "Come, the night is still young and I have time yet to see what I can discover."

User Name: Deejaye
Name: Nephilim
Reasoning for name: A term for offspring of fallen angel and humans. I feel like this name is fitting because he's the offspring of a uh NORMIE for lack of a better term and a Ravenlord/triwing. *w*; The wish for him would be to be an ambassador to Raven speakers (in particular, the second types you listed - the ones born into the raven lord line and yet to find their bird). The wish would essentially be to aid them in finding a raven to bond to, as he understands how challenging it can be to find the one.
Temper: Persuasive
Are you an active RPer?: Not the most active recently, but I generally manage to get 2 ponies statted per month, if that's any indication? n wn; I've been busy recently.
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: yes! I think the raven lords are hella cool
----------------
Personality: Nephilim is charming and has an odd ability to seemingly draw others in and get them intrigued. He would attribute this to not being deceitful, but rather honest - he would lay down the facts and let others aware of his intents. While he is straightforward, he doesn't come off as being harsh or rude, but more gentle, if that makes sense. I like to think of him as like a shepherd attending his flock stereotype, except he's cooler looking than a shepherd and they're ravens, not sheep.
Plot Ideas:
I had this sorta dark idea for him, it's possible I may change/alter/tweak it a little.

  • As a foal, he appears to get along and lure in a large number of ravens, but doesn't bond with one until his alpha comes along - clever and witty and very much a compliment of his own personality, it would be the first raven to which he would find to be his equal. While he is gentle and likeable, his alpha would be just as straightforward, but more keen on saying in a way that might shock someone - basically blunt. The new perspective or way of wording things would attract Nephilim to the bird, and The two would bond as a result.

  • With Nephilim's ability to drawn in ravens, it would become natural he would decide to become a Conspiracy. He with his alpha would draw in a large flock.

  • Tragedy would strike, however, and his alpha raven would be harmed/attacked which would result in permanent damage. I'm still trying to decide how, but I was thinking maybe the raven's wings would be damaged to the point it couldn't fly...or maybe actually be injured so much that it would be on its last legs. Regardless of it, Nephilim would, in his panic, send out his ravens to seek out a method to cure his alpha. The only immediate curse would be is if he would seek out a corpse powder and join with his raven, so this is what he would do. After doing so, he would have no attachment to his flock of ravens, but see them rather as toys to toss at his foes. His personality would become more of a twist of his former self and his raven, though his intentions would clearly become more twisted - how I see it, he might draw someone with a sweet talk, and when they feel secure and he's sure they can't escape, he'd switch over to the more harsh side. If that makes sense !_!
I would like him to stay as a Conspiracy rank, but I think it'd be interesting to see how the dynamic of it would change after becoming Abhorrent as well. So... I think after becoming cursed, his flock's numbers would dwindle initially because he would toss them at foes/prey, resulting in overall more casualities and weening out what he would deem weak, and some might overall leave out of fear? But after the initial dip, he would recruit more by sort of displaying this great strength his flock has. dunno o:

  • He might possibly get charmed...maybe? I'm still trying to decide.. Probably a more "time will tell" idea I'm debating. If he was charmed, I think it would be because he was turned astray from his namesake - he no longer was assisting others in finding their raven through his conspiracy. So as a result, either through some sort of divine intervention or someone he knows personally seeking out the charm and placing it on him, he would become charmed. I think as a Resplendendant, his resulting personality would be overall the same as his cursed self, though he accept any raven into his conspiracy and return to what his original intent was. He might try to appoint a new raven to be the alpha and assist in recruitment, both he wouldn't feel an attachment to it - it would be more like a secretary that an equal to him, because to him, his alpha would never be replaced.

User Name: Kaya Wolf Moon
Name: Dumah
Reasoning for name: Meaning silence, vindication and the stillness of death. The wish for Dumah would be to grow into a great leader, capable of leading hundreds and thousands of Raven Lords. His would be a silent reign of destruction to punish those deemed as unworthy.
Temper: Silent
Are you an active RPer?: Yes, I do my best to RP as much as possible given my schedule.
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: Yes
----------------
Personality: Dumah is a silent yet strong individual. He allows no one to push him around and actively seeks to punish those whom have made an enemy of the Raven Lords. The stallion wishes only to bring vindication to his herd while driving the unworthy from the Kawani lands.

Born of fire and darkness, Dumah seeks knowledge of these things so that he can better control his birthright. Woe be to those who try to quell this inner flame for he holds a deep-rooted pride. A quicker enemy one could not make should they choose to denounce the hellfire burns brightly.

Plot Ideas:
Hell Fire, Dark Fire- Dumah learns of his birthright and of his connection to his father. He breaks away from his mother so that he might speak with his father of their inner flame.

Ravenborn- Dumah meets his Raven partner for the first time. Their initial meeting doesn’t go quite as planned as the Raven rejects the prospect of a partner. This strikes a nerve within Dumah whom can’t stand to be belittled, even by a Raven. Dumah must prove his worth to illustrate that he can be the leader hoped of him.

Are You Worthy?- After studying his family heritage, Dumah decides that it is time the Raven Lords take their rightful place within the Kawani lands. He departs from his home and seeks out others of his kind. However, the road ahead is filled with all sorts of Soquili. It is up to Dumah to decide whom is worthy.

(I apologize for any spelling mistakes that may occur, there's something wrong with a few keys on my keyboard right now. I'm trying to keep on top of it, and will spellcheck again tomorrow.)

User Name: Ruhane Chiisai
Name: Barad-dur
Reasoning for name: Originally, the name is a reference to Sauron's home, the dark towers of Mordor, in JRR Tolkein's fantasy series Lord of the Rings. (It's been stuck in my head since I looked at the basket.) The name represents his parents' wish that he excells in the expanding of both the realm of the raven lords and the power of the great flames his father was birthed of.
Temper: Machiavellian
Are you an active RPer?: I would very much love to be. Unfortunately, I cannot keep up with the Soquili thread well enough to properly seek Roleplay. If I am able to get help in this, I would be ecstatic to get the attention and roleplay, and I would be beyond gleefull to make sure this boyo gets all the attention he deserves.
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: I will do this to the very best of my abilities, but as complex as this arrangement is, I cannot make any immediate promises. I have a tendency to space out now and then, so I may cfxorget something down the road. icfx I do, feel free to remind me.
As an additional note, while I understand the tradition in the herd, I have a hard time accepting the request not to pair with anything besides a raven. According to the herd traditions, it can be done, but is looked down upon very very much. What if, like me, the new owner was afraid of birds, but wants a familiar for RP extension of the character? (I do happen to have a phobia of birds, so I don't like them much, but I could live with it. I like the idea of having familiars with my soquili, just no luck getting any. ^-^; wink
----------------
Personality: While some may label him as manipulative, Barad-Dur prefers to think of himself as more... Encouraging... as a dark whisper in the back of your mind advising you to do untoward things, but, encouraging, all the same. He wears a soft smile of pretense at most times, and it is rare for that smile to depict anything other than an ulterior motive.
On the rare occasion he does come dressed with sweet words and countenances, it's probably the strongest sign he has someone's less pleasant future in mind. He knows he has a strength with words, and he far from plans on letting that fall by the wayside, when it can be so much more useful at the front of his repertoire.
Plot Ideas: I'll be honest, I don't do much plotting. I'd so much rather have the full RP when it's possible to get it that I don't bother planning ahead, I just find someone willing and RP. This may be due in part to the difficulty I have obtaining RP in Soquili in the first place.

Choose your own entry: Bleary eyes peered through cracks in the basket, watching the spirits of life beyond, waiting for his arrival from the confines. A great, dark shadow stretched over him much of every day, an dreceeded only when the delicious scent of food was nearby. The shadow would return, and by some magick, the foal within the confines was sated by her presence, as though it had fed him, herself.

Her... how did he knwo that spirit was of a female?

It didn't matter, it provided what he needed. At a distance, he began to notice a tall, wavering flicker of a spirit. It never came closer, but always seemed to be there. It was days, and finally, the spirit dared draw nearer. His Shadow spirit spat at him, brandishing weapons at both sides like he was a threat.

Mmm, He. That spirit must be He. It is different than Her. He isn't being much use. If it were closer, the foal imagined the He could be of much use, but it stopped. It watched the great shadow spirit and simply stood, then bent to her and backed away again. She went to fetch what he had dropped, watching him, hesitant, and returned to the foal's home... It's prison.

That's what this was, prison. A way to keep him in. The shadow must be not only his protector, but his warden.

And the fire spirit... The fire spirit must be attempting to appease the warden. Excellent! Must be trying to get close so that he could free her captive! Perhaps he had a use after all!
But, fed and tired, those bleary eyes drifted, and the world of spirits changed. The shadow and the fire warped and shifted and grew shapes; a great black crow and an equally great orange, both with their own uniquenesses, quibbled over him, arguing his closeness with the youth's basket and his allowance to the nest.

The birds took to the skies, circling and twisting in the air while they fought... danced... Shared their wings and their flight. The birds merged, and then fell apart, and quibbled through the sky some more, and then it faded again, to the bars of the prison that kept him. It must have been some hours later, and the Shadow slept, and the Fire slept, closer now. His heat was palpable just at the wall to the basket, and the foal shook his head and peered out as he chased away the blear in his eyes. He saw beasts of power beyond his bars; great muscles touched by the birds of his dreams, fantastic creatures ready to touch the sky. Excitedly, the foal wondered... When would the sky be his, as it was theirs? Would he fly as they did, someday, or was the sky all pretty lies the ravens were spinning into his dreams?

... No. No, the ravens were not the only ones that would taste the sky! I will taste that sky, too, and I shall taste it NOW!

And he attempted to stand, succeeding only in shifting his prison, as the shadow steadied it again. There were soft sounds from the Shadow spirit, and they were somehow calming. He was sure it was some spell she cast over him, but he felt the crackle of the fire spirit, too. His warmth was just as soothing as the shadow bird's coo, and he let them shift their sounds together to sooth him back to sleep, back to dreams of those great ravens in their massive sky, dancing together.

(Editted: Just some cleaning up, no actual changes.)

User Name: Kyribird
Name: Magni
Reasoning for name: There are several reasons for this name. One is that it reminds me of Magma - hot and volatile. The second is that it is an ancient Norse element of strength and might. I felt that these two things could easily demonstrate the hopes that his mother would have for him.
Temper: Mercurial
Are you an active RPer?: Yes! Though I do go through times of lull due to the hell beast of real life.
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: Of course. I love the culture!
----------------
Personality: While all outward appearances point to an even tempered stallion - and Magni certainly prefers it that way - beneath that shiny turd of an exterior lies someone who literally can't tell what their next reaction is going to be and, just like mercury, is dangerous and poisonous. The smallest thing can set him off - or tickle his fancy - and that thing can change literally hour to hour. Something that pleased him in the afternoon could inspire rage in him that evening. How can anyone else predict his reaction when Magni doesn't even know himself? An unpredictable stallion is the most dangerous of all.

Plot Ideas:
Disappointment - As a foal, Magni has an extremely hard time controlling his emotions and tempers. It was easy to tell what he was feeling and even easier to best him because of it. His moves are written on his face as they are completely propelled by his emotions. He can't lie, he can't spin tales, and as far as anyone can tell, he's pretty useless except as brute strength. What a disappointment.
Control - As Magni grows older, he works harder and harder to place the metaphorical mask over his face and lock down his emotions. In many ways, this makes him more dangerous. He is still unable to reign his emotions in, but at least he's gained some kind of control over his moves and makes it harder for his opponents to tell what's going to happen. It makes it equally difficult for his comrades to know what to expect, and there is a wariness even with his siblings, on approaching him.

This makes it especially hard when he finds his magical abilities and discovers falling into the Primordial class. Given the fiery nature of his father, this certainly makes it dangerous to be around him when his moods shift. Who knows when the next burst of magma is going to blast something away?
----------------
Choose your own entry: While initially I lean toward the Primordial class, I've got a few ideas and equally as many questions. For example - If it's possible for a Raven Lord to go into one class because of their magic (Primordial) but defect into another inspite of that - I'd love to see that happen with Magni. With the temper and flaws he has, and his constant need to prove he's in control and worth something, I think he'd seriously try for Conspiracy class. He's strong, and erratic, and extremely difficult to get past. He's good at catching on to other's intentions and predicting others, because he's spent so much time trying to predict himself. He would not be loved, but he would certainly be feared enough to ammass a following.

I also think it would be possible for him to try for that, and fail, and ultimately end up an Abhorrent, seeking to fuse with his raven in an attempt to balm his own mind and give himself some kind of impeteus to gain some constant or control over himself once the mere presence of his raven isn't enough.
There are many ways that his path can go, all depending on role play and what is and isn't allowed. The idea of this character excites me to no end. A chess master at heart who has no idea what his next move will be because he can't get a grip on himself. A failure, in multiple ways, that claws his way - sometimes in desperate moves - to something great.

User Name: Moon_Princess_Yuki
Name: Ereshkigal
Reasoning for name: Ereshkigal is a Mesopotamian goddess believed to be the queen of the underworld. Her sister the queen of the heavens, in one of her more popular myths, specifically the version I read when I was a kid, her sister came to meet her to she cheer her up after the death of her husband, but as is the nature of the underworld her sister dies and she is forced to mourn both while still ruling the kingdom. this name is a wish to have strength even when faced with great loss. (I hope having a female name for a male horse is fine? I think it's a fitting name so...)
Temper: Conflicted
Are you an active RPer?: I try to be
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: yes, from what I've read of it it looks really interesting, plus I love birds so yeah.
----------------
Personality: Conflicted, he finds lying and manipulating to come easier then kindness and virtue. Always saying what he thinks will get him what he wants, rarely thinking about what others would want. But when he thinks of his adoptive mothers kindness he second guesses his actions. at a certain point he stops lying to her all together
Plot Ideas:
----------------
Choose your own entry:

So for my entry I guess I want to talk about why I chose Ereshkigal as a name, More then just his mothers wish for him. I wanna talk about what it means to me. I read the story of Inana and Ereshkigal a lot as a child it was my favorite bed time story and I always felt for Ereshkigal, her husband was dead because of the land she lived in and now her sister only trying to be a good sister and be there for her is dead for the same reason. Ereshkigal loves her sister and mourns the loss. It was not her fault and yet in a way it was and there was nothing she could do about it and she didn't keep that fact from doing her husband she didn't complain or contest it. and i found that fascinating. But her husband and sister were still dead because of her nature and it was sad and beautiful and i loved that.

This translates well into how I want to play Ereshkigal as a raven lord, I plan to have him on the darker side of the duality but looking at the light and wondering. I'm not sure if my plots will drag him into the light or leave him content to be devious. but either way his home will still be the dark and I kinda want to explore that you know? I plan to have him wonder if his dark nature will just hurt the ones he loves in the end and how much he cares.

User Name: Wasteland Wyvern
Name: Zazikel
Reasoning for name: Zazikel is the Archedemon form of the Old God Dragon from Dragon Age. It is the dragon of chaos incarnate.
I'd like for Apocrypha's wish for this particular child is for him to be seed of chaos. Causing trouble and destruction wherever he can.
Temper: Chaotic
Are you an active Rper?: I try to be, but if I am honest my muse has been flagging. I think this is just in relation to my hectic life but if I am given possession of such a unique basket I would try my hardest to RP with the family and give it all the plots I can.
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: Yes!
----------------
Personality: Chaos incarnate. Zazikel is the type to wander into a village playing at the sweet innocent traveler and take up residence in the herd/town/etc. and begin sowing the seeds of discord. He enjoys the Great Game and takes pride in it so his work tends to be very slow and calculated, but when the Game is over the place he has taken up residence in will be either a smoking remain or so riddled with chaos that it will be unrecognizable to new or returning visitors.
Once his Game is played he moves on searching for the next link in his chain of chaos. Technically he doesn't kill, but that doesn't mean death isn't often a result of his… Game.
Plot Ideas:
1.) The Other Half of Me: This is naturally just him getting his raven and bonding with it. I could see it getting interesting, like maybe a predator interrupts the process and almost takes his raven from him.
2.) The Game Begins: His first, and naturally flawed attempt at causing chaos. I want this to be when he's a foal and he doesn't understand the implications of it and how to handle the need to cause chaos.
3.) Beaten at My Own Game: This is a young adult encounter with someone, male or female, that would be better at causing chaos than him, and he would likely follow this person/familiar/etc. around and learn from it.
4.) Let Fire Consume Me: This will be a very serious plot where his Suti heritage will overtake him and he will literally go on a fiery rampage setting this ablaze and killing indiscriminately. Only his raven will be able to bring him out of this and convince the shadowy other half of his soul to bank the flames.

Red bits are updated info~

User Name: Eternal Xantara
Name: Renwyk (German origin)
Reasoning for name: With his name meaning "where the ravens nest", it may be his parents wished for him to not only become a Raven Lord, but to have a large unkindness of ravens at his command. If one were to go with the literal translation... It is entirely possible there are various interpretations to the meaning of his name.
Temper: Pensive
Are you an active RPer?: I can be if I have the time and/or the muse.
Are you willing to continue the Raven Lord tradition?: Yes! I might try to give it a new "twist", but yes!
----------------
Personality: Renwyk will probably have a quiet, reserved personality. He won't be one to speak freely with others unless he knows them well. Even then... who knows? As a result, he may be seen as cold, cruel, distant, and/or detached.
Plot Ideas:
One to Call My Own
If he doesn't have a Raven familiar, Renwyk will go on a "quest" to find one. As time goes on, his Raven may start a family of its own and thus an unkindness of Ravens will form around him.
The Fine Art of Gathering Information
Renwyk, with the aid of his familiar(s), will glean information of the world around him and use it to his advantage. He may be persuaded to part with the information he's gathered... for a price.
Moved the spoiler bit from the personality section to here.
When it comes to the fine art of information, he will glean all he can from observations made by himself and his familiar(s). If anyone wants to know what he knows, it is most likely that he will give a direct answer and not always the answer they were looking for unless the question was phrased correctly. Depends on his mood, really, if he's feeling generous or not. Otherwise, a "bargain" could be made. For his services/information, the seeker "pays" him in some way. Otherwise he wouldn't be inclined to help them.

Bucking Tradition
Tired of all the dark and evil ways of his family, he'll set out to wander the land on his own, learning about other herds. In this way, he might be inspired by the Nordic ravens, Huginn and Muninn.
We Are Family
Eventually he may settle down and find a life-mate worthy to continue the Raven Lord tradition... but based on his views of how Raven Lords ought to be (knowledge-seekers, etc.) and less... evil. Dark, well, there's no shaking that part of him. A bit "bad", yes. Evil on the level of a Purewalker or Cursedwalker ... Renwyk would cast them out, if not kill them to protect his new family. If one were to become Cursed, or find a Cursed mate, he'd force the Charm upon them. He sees the benefit of having a feral form, but knows that without the Charm, the Cursed one would pose a threat. He'd be forced to drive out or kill the abomination if there was no way Charm them.

The Cursed/Charmed Life
Possible plot! If his Raven familiar were to become ill or injured to the point where it might die soon, it's possible Renwyk would risk it all to go on a quest for Corpse Powder. He's well aware of the risks involved but will most likely be willing to go anyway, to be forever united with his beloved companion. He might ask someone close to him (if he has anyone) to seek out an Angeni Charm, so that the risk he'd pose to others (his family) once Cursed will be brief.

What better way to get to know Renwyk than an intensive Q&A session?! Am I right? ;D *dodges a kick*

Biggest question of all, Ren. Why did you break with tradition?
Renwyk: Because I felt there was more to life than deception, chaos, and carnage. I wish to seek knowledge, to learn what there is to learn, to see what there is to see.

Okay then... Which class would you see yourself as?
Renwyk: I'm most likely a Dedicated Class. Might end up as a Conspiracy Class by... accident... *glares at his companion*

Oh, this is too good. How would you become a Conspiracy Class?
Renwyk: Either the Ravens love to annoy me, or my first familiar can't keep their feathers to themselves. =_=

*snicker* You poor thing. Do you not like Ravens that much then?
Renwyk: Not at all. I admire them greatly. They just... can be a bit much to handle at times...

So... here's a toughie. What do you think of your family?
Renwyk: Don't get me wrong, I do love them. I just... I cannot follow the path they wish me to go down in the way they want me to. I will forge my own path, my own way. I can't go against who I am.

I see... Is there anything else you'd like us to know?
Renwyk: ... Unless you wish to know something specific about me, you won't learn jack by asking a vague question like that. I'm not the kind to give out knowledge easily or freely, especially about myself. "To get the desired answer, one must ask the proper question." So nope. No free pass for you.

... You little stinker. I thought you didn't want to be like your parents. ;A;
Renwyk: *snort* Oh, there are a few useful things they taught me that has no bearing on being "evil". Heh.

... This Q&A is over. 3<
Renwyk: *mutters* Finally.

Did I say it was over..? Silly me. The world wants to know more, sweetie~
Renwyk: ... Gonna cost ya this time. =_=

I'll... owe you one..? owo Now, on to the fun!
Renwyk: What part of this is "fun"?

What DO you like to do for fun?
Renwyk: Spend time by myself... with my Raven...

That doesn't seem very fun... but it's sweet that you've formed a tight bond with it. What would you do if it were to become sick or badly injured, to the point where it might die?
Renwyk: I... would mourn quietly... *shifts uneasily*

Would you seek out the Corpse Powder to become a Cursedwalker, wearing your beloved Raven's pelt, so you could be together forever?
Renwyk: I... I can't! It is just... wrong... there is no way to know if I would be able to get a charm...

If there was a way to get a Charm, would you still risk it?
Renwyk: ... *hangs head* Yes. I cannot bring myself to live without my Raven.

I think that's all for now, sweetie.
Renwyk: Now, about what you owe me...

Oh, look at the time! Gotta go!
Renwyk: ... >_>
