congratulations, dreamer!you now have the honor of completing the first steps challenge. to complete this most excellent quest and unlock the powers that lie within, you must complete these requirements.
a solo (500 words) of Shun thinking back on what he’s learned about other ashdown
a RP with another visitor to gather information about other ashdown
a solo (1000 words) of Shun exploring other ashdown on his own
a RP wherein Shun visits Heliodora's demesne
two RPs with visitors to learn more about magic and their experiences in other ashdown
in exchange, your character will receive this power:
EXPLOSIVE HIGH FIVES it's not as cool as it sounds (or it's exactly as cool as it sounds). when you and a friend get together and high five fireworks appear and spark in the air around you. ... also blades in your possession do not dull. how these two are connected, no one knows.

a pair (2) RPs of Shun working with other Visitors in other ashdown to strengthen and expand his magical capabilities.
a DM RP of Shun exploring the other ashdown police department and its basement.
a solo (1000 words) of Shun carrying out what needs to be done (or not).
a DM RP of Shun returning to the other ashdown police department to meet a mysterious figure.
in exchange, your character will unlock the following power:
SHADOWED BLADE - Shun is now in the possession of a blade made of pure shadow that he can summon at will. While it looks incorporeal and not all there, it is able to cut through most materials with ease (diamond and other super strong materials are a no go; likewise anything deemed by staff to not be cuttable). This blade cannot be handled by anyone but Shun and will disperse once out of his grip.

a RP thread of Shun at the hospital and noticing a shift in his vision; that he can see sometimes strange outlines with the eye that he no longer has
a solo (750 words) of Shun adapting to missing an eye
a RP thread of Shun going to other ashdown and trying to use magic to potentially aid himself in being able to see (this doesn’t work)
a DM RP of Shun having a very particular dream (tag in Whaler!)
a RP thread of Shun having to relearn how to see the world around him
in exchange, your character will unlock:
SHADOWS SEE ALL - In the place of his stolen eye, there is now something else. More than a simple eye, this one wisps shadows and darkness unless it is kept hidden. The shadow eye allows Shun to see a shadowy spectral world that is overlaid with his own. People, when see through this eye, are shadowy and also carry some level of darkness within them. Whether this is the darkness of their own souls or something else entirely, is not quite known.

three threads experiencing and trying to resist (and deal with) mental effects.
a thread where Shun practices creating mental barriers in his mind and learns to shield himself
a thread of Shun experiencing something that locks him into his own mind and then succeeding in stopping it and it’s outside influence
in exchange, your character will unlock:
MY WILL IS AS STRONG AS YOURS - Through training and certain incidents, Shun is able to resist mental effects. This does not apply to any geas-like power, staff-played characters or meta shenanigans. Likewise, Shun is only able to completely resist characters that are at the same stage as him or lower. If the character is at a stage higher than him then he can resist some, but not all, of the mental effects.
