“Like me? You barely met me.” Richard pointed out but let the strings get snatched from his grip with a tiny bit of amusement showing on his face. Well, he had given his token protests and the kid had been insistent so he would let him win this one thing. Maybe. He might still swipe them back when they were by the register.

“Which just goes to show how much I’m looking forward to getting to know you,” Kit replied without missing a beat. His smile eased up and he turned to pay for the strings at the counter, getting his wallet out with his free hand. “If you’ll grant me the honor and privilege, of course.”

Richard followed after him, still debating whether he should just swipe them and pay for them himself. “Guess we shall see how that ends up.” He said with another shrug. He wasn’t even sure if he would see the young man again after this after all so he wasn’t about to promise anything.

“Guess we will. And you just might end up learning a few things about me too, whether you want to or not.” He gave the cash to the person at the register as they told him the total for the purchase. “Like how I’m pretty stubborn when it comes to getting what I want.” Turning around, he handed Richard a little bag with the packaged guitar strings inside. “So are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way?” A smirk upturned the corner of his mouth.

He took the offered bag and gave a low chuckle. “Thank you. Out of curiosity, what exactly is the hard way then?” He asked. Richard wasn’t really worried, knowing he could slip away if need be but not figuring he would need to. He would play the kids game for a little bit more anyway.

“Hard to say really. You could follow me around, you could bug me for my contact info or simply look me up in the phonebook. Lot’s of routes you could take.” Richard said, looking unconcerned about the topic.

“There you go. I could end up being a full-blown stalker. But you look like the sort of guy who could handle one,” Kit mused. “So, which will it be? Are you going to play hard-to-get or gonna play nice?” Raising his arms, he moved to casually rest them on Richard’s shoulders.

Richard looked from Kit’s face to his arms then back again, giving an unimpressed look and simply taking a step back so the younger man’s arms would fall. “I could indeed handle a stalker.” And he had more options to handle one then a normal person should he choose. “Don’t know, is there a reason to play nice?”

Rather than allowing his arms to fall, this time Kit locked his hands with intertwined fingers behind Richard’s neck to prevent the other from escaping so easily. “I don’t really know if there’s a reason you’d think would be worthy, but I don’t really care how you play, either, so long as you do. And with me.” He attempted to close the space between them, pressing his body - particularly his hips and chest - up against the other man’s. “Is there a reason you keep moving away from me? Can’t imagine you’d be afraid.”

Richard shifted the bag so it was hanging on his wrist then put his hands on Kit’s hips to shift them back away. “And how exactly do you plan to play?” He asked though he had a good idea, or at least some idea of what. “Nope, not afraid at all.” He shook his head then gave him an unimpressed look. “How old are you?”

Snickering lightly at Richard’s hands on his hips, Kit licked his lips once more. “Any way you like, angel-face,” he answered in low tones. “I’m eighteen. Is that a problem?” He cast him a sanguine smile with half-lidded eyes.

Richard would not admit to being amused at the nickname and barely let it show in his eyes as it was. The kid certainly was laying it on thick and he did not have any kind of ‘angel face’. “Age wise no, you aren’t a problem.” An ten year difference didn’t bother him anyway. “But the young are so fickle.” He said in a deadpan tone, not giving any hint of his teasing. “Here one day and gone the next.”

“Ahh...is that what it is?” The black-haired youth shifted his weight slightly, as if eager to get closer to Richard despite the hands on his hips preventing him from doing so. “I won’t deny being fickle. But everything changes. Surely someone as ancient as you should know that fact of life already,” he teased, chuckling. “What’s with that talk like you’re an old man? I’m betting you can’t be more than ten years my senior. Are you telling me you’ve never had more than one lover before?”
