"Great!" Ian's smile was bright but a little wobbly, and he could feel his hands trembling. Having everything signed and done with was a major step, not to mention the very literal embodiment of spring floating on the other side of the room. She was really here, ready to go, ready to be at home. He stood up from the chair at the desk and took a deep breath, letting it out a shaky sigh. "Well um- Thanks, Zeke. Again." He chuckled, offering his hand to shake the other man's before awkwardly fussing with the drawstring on his hoodie. He turned toward where Eden was busy inspecting the houseplant. "Ah! Eden-"
Where the leaves of the large plant had previously been bright and lively, they were now considerably wilted and dark. Eden glanced at him with brows raised as if nothing were wrong. "I was hungry."
Ian balked and trotted over to inspect the plant. "Eden, you- Did you do this?" There wasn't a lot of anger in his voice; mostly awe, tinged slightly with panic. She'd wilted Zeke's plant! Dr. Kyou's plant! "Can you- um, can you fix it?" She was nymph right? But he only received a silent shrug of one bloom-covered shoulder as the newborn turned and moved toward the door.
"We can go right? It's cramped in here," she murmured.
Ian let out a tired sigh and looked at Zeke over his shoulder apologetically. "I'll uh- I'll get you a new plant. Sorry about that..."

Zeke took the offered hand firmly and shook it with every iota of warmth in his body. So here it would all begin for the two of them, now and forever a pair. Family. No matter how many times he saw it or who the pairs happened to be, it still struck a chord with him as if it was the very first time. In a sense it kind of was.
"You're welcome! I'd add 'anytime' to that but--" Ian was calling out to his Frei, who was looking back at her Guardian before a plant that was now completely and utterly dead. Zeke's eyes widened a touch but it was a laugh that came from him rather than a scowl or unhappy remark. Goodness! They might have to keep this one away from greenhouses and garden centers!
"Don't worry about it; we've got plenty more around here. One causality isn't going to upset anyone." He was proof of that statement, chuckling as the Frei became callous in regards to what she had done and her Guardian's hope at her perhaps fixing it. This one...She made him think of Anastacia, at least the way she had been at that age.
"Seriously, no harm done! Well...okay harm done but one plant going toward feeding a hungry newborn is not a horrible or outrageous sacrifice." He patted Ian on the back and followed him to the door, letting them both out before waving to their departing backs as they set about starting their life together. "Take care you two! And Ian! Be sure to give me a call if you need anything! Anything at all! Hopefully I'll see you both real soon!!!"
