A mistake. The crystal was not supposed to awaken. He was only trying to find out if it would work like he'd been told. That didn't mean he actually wanted a child!
An act of pure ignorance, a mistake that could not be undone. Suddenly in the imp's arms rested a small wriggling bundle, sleeping peacefully after being brought to life in the most spectacular fashion. He was barely even a Senior, still a member of the Academy. He couldn't raise a child, and his parents certainly wouldn't do it for him. In fact, they would likely be furious.
"Shh, shh,... quiet, baby," he whispered, hushing to the small bundle as he ducked around corners, walking as fast as his short legs could carry him through the streets in the dead of night. The moment he reached his destination, he stopped, staring up at the Orphanage before him.
He hesitated, swallowing the lump in his throat as he looked down at the infant, who for the first time opened her eyes, staring up at him with the brightest, happiest gaze. His brows furrowed as he stared down at the child for a seemingly neverending moment, before finally moving. He placed the infant down on the step, turning away immediately after. He couldn't spare another look. Instead, he started off back down the way he came, running as fast as he could, leaving the baby there, alone, and cold, and without a person in the world to love them.
At least, not yet.
The young infant soon came to be known as Miah. Despite being left as a baby, Miah was an all around happy child, carrying inside her a heart big enough for every person she met. She was a joy to have within the Orphanage, but as she was approaching the age at which she could attend the academy, it became harder for the orphanage to continue to house so many children. Various fleshlings--Miah included--were taken in by numerous foster parents. This was when Miah met Raala, a rather sweet Demon not even halfway through her life. She was young, and ran a small business from home where she made various trinkets that were loved by a handful of people in the community, enough for her to make a stable living for nearly ten years thus far.
Miah was quick to love her foster mother, and Raala grew to truly, earnestly love the child in return. It wasn't long before the demoness was trading being the imp's foster mother for actually adopting the girl, much to Miah's delight. For the first time, Miah had a home of he own, and a family--despite it being somewhat small.
All through her years at the Academy, Miah lived at home with her adoptive mother, until finally it was time for her to move on to Grendel, which was too far from her mother's home to justify staying there. Much to her reluctance, Miah moved out, finding herself a small apartment close to the campus.

Aaminah is... honestly something else. Sweet, gentle, caring, and selfless almost to a fault, but simultaneously incredibly flirtatious and mildly outspoken. Aaminah is a rather carefree soul, not having a care in the world for what others think of her, paying a mind only to her own needs and wants. She has a silver tongue and a sharp wit and a particular knack for talking herself out of trouble if need be. She also has a mind for romance, as well as the capacity to love many.
This demon is not the type to settle down with any one person. Aaminah has grown quite accustomed to stretching herself wide over a net of many different women, caring for each one equally at any given time. She has a big heart and a lot of love for those that wish to share in her company, though many times in the past has Aaminah had to let loose a love or two that grew jealous of the demon's other partners, triads, and more. Jealousy is perhaps the one thing that Aaminah has little patience for, and she makes it a point to let the girls she meets know that, should they show signs of interest in the young demon.
