Zenith had originally come to Grendel for two reasons. One, to finalize her application to study there when she was done with her time at the Academy. Two, to go smash Adora and Meris's heads together. Honestly, what had they been thinking?! Having kids in October... Unfortunately, Meris was not in his dorm. So, objective #2 was not going to be accomplished.

Yet.

It was only a matter of time before she'd see them. It was inevitable.

For now, she decided to take a walk around the campus, get to know where everything was... She eventually found herself in what appeared to be the fine arts side of the campus... maybe around the theater department? Fashion? She wasn't really sure. Where ever she was, it was pretty, and the people were pretty, too.

Perhaps she should start making some connections with the fashion students here... Maybe hook the band up with a good designer... She was busy thinking about future plans as she walked, not really paying attention to where she was going or who she might cross paths with.

[qote="Marinity"]Feeeeeel free to have her bump into Aami or like, cut her off or something idk omg @ u @ openers are so hard

"Thank you professor~!"

The demoness's voice carried across the hall as she stepped out of one of the many classrooms, a slight grin on her lips. The moment the heavy door to the classroom shut behind her, Aaminah paused on her feet. With a quiet hum, she turned her attention down to the folder in her hands. She began to thumb through the papers, grinning with approval at the positive notes and grades on her assignments.

In all honesty, the demon had been far too distracted by her papers to notice the young geist coming up behind her. The moment the girl's body crashed into hers, Aaminah gave a gasp, spinning around on her heels as her brows furrowed.

"Hey, watch where you're g--" her words came to an abrupt halt as she looked down at the girl, a gentle, albeit somewhat lazy smile curling on her lips. "Sorry. You alright?"

Oh! Oh goodness, she'd bumped right into someone. Literally walked directly into them. Oh Nine. Still stunned a bit, Zenith stumbled back a couple of steps, blinking her bright green eyes in confusion. Of course, to match her disoriented state, her tendrils flared and shrank a few times as she righted herself.

"Oh...! I'm so sorry." She waved her hands in front of her a little, putting up an apologetic smile. Lovely, her first real time on campus and she'd already run someone over. At least none of the band members were here, she'd never hear the end of it! "I totally wasn't paying attention to where I was going, completely my bad. Are you okay? I didn't mess up your papers, did I?"

The moment the geist began to speak, Aaminah could only smile, laughing softly as she lifted a hand, waving it dismissively. "I'm fine, I'm fine, and so are these," she reassured quickly, pulling her folder closer to her chest, glancing down at them quickly as if to make sure, before she lifted her gaze to meet the other's own.

"You certainly don't look familiar, not to mention a bit young for Uni. What's an academy kid doing in Grendel?" the demon asked curiously, perking a brow as her head canted slightly to the side, her tail flicking around behind her contentedly.

Oh, ouch. Young? She was plenty grown up! At least that's what she'd say if she actually... said what was on her mind most of the time... but if she was thinking that was that really a sign of being grown up or of being childish? Which one was it again...? Oh well.

Zenith decided on simply flashing a grin with a small shrug. "Well that would be because I'm not from around here." She shifted her weight, out of the walking path for another passerby. "I was attempting to visit some friends, but they aren't here, it seems. And finalize my application... but y'know, details, details... Oh! I'm Zenith, by the way." She extended a hand, used to this form of greeting over others.

The somewhat lengthy demon looked down at the geist with a gentle grin, offering her a quiet giggle as she nodded in understanding. "Ah, scoping out the campus in your meantime, then," she said with an understanding nod. She paused then, blinking at the offered hand before another smile curled over her lips. Her hand dropped in response, gently grasping the other's own, returning the gesture.

"I'm Aaminah," she offered, shifting comfortably on her feet. "Were you trying to find any place on particular on campus, Zenith? I could probably show you around a bit, if you'd like. I don't have anymore classes to worry about all day, and it's too damn cold outside right now to walk home anyway,"

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Aaminah." She smiled, shaking her hand quickly with practiced formality, and then retracted it to place it on one hip. "Oh not really, I'll be majoring in music so I was mostly just scoping out the surrounding buildings." She shrugged a little, then grinned widely. "Well if you're bored and want to give a tour, I would happily accept! I'm sure the others will be too busy to show me around for a while. They've got kids 'n such to take care of." She nodded, then clapped her hands together. "So far I've gathered that I quite possibly wandered into the fashion building?"

"Music, eh?" the demon questioned with a grin and a soft snicker. "I thought about music, but sadly for me, I can't play an instrument, and all the lessons in the world couldn't teach me to sing well and sound good in the process," Aaminah said with a soft laugh and a tilt of her head.

When the other mentioned a tour, the older woman grinned. "A tour I can definitely do. Where do you wanna start?" she asked, canting her head to the other side before giving another grin. "And yes, this is the fashion building. That's why it smells a bit like a clothing store. I guess you could say the same about the Drama department, but that building tends to smell a bit like sweat, and it's usually much louder," she explained with a laugh.

"Oh, I can't play that well either, honestly. I prooobably should be double-majoring in business or something but I don't really want to make the commute to Asterion." She shrugged, "I just happen to manage a couple of bands so it helps to know what goes into it! That and I do like it, haha." She nodded, then looked around with a snort. "It doooes sort of smell like a clothing store, doesn't it... And that would be typical of a drama department, wouldn't it?" She rolled her eyes a little, "not much better in the music building, honestly."

As for where to start, she shrugged a little. "How about you show me where the food is~?" That seemed like a good place to kick things off!

it's all goooood~

User Image "Oh, by the nine no. One of my roommates goes to Asterion and she has to commute there every single day, and our apartment is right outside of the campus grounds," the demon said with a shudder, her head shaking somewhat afterwards. "I've always thought she was absolutely crazy," Aaminah added with a laugh.

She paused then, her brows furrowing once the other's words registered in her mind. "Wait, you said you manage a few bands? That's actually pretty fantastic, especially for an academy student. Any bands I might know?" she asked, a grin curling on her lips. Little did she know.

Only then did the young demon snicker softly, her head canting in the other direction. "Alright, now you're speaking my language. I need to grab myself something to eat anyway. Come on, then,"

"Oh, gross." Zenith shook her head with a shudder. Yeah, there were portals, but who wanted to deal with that mess every day? Not her, that's who. "Ah well, she must really like the school to go there every day, yeah?" She giggled in return, then grinned widely.

"Band of the Below, and Fakir! I kinda got my in with BOTB, grew up with them and all that fun stuff, hahaa. It's really more like herding cats than anything else... But hey! It's fun and keeps me on my toes." She winked and giggled again, then followed after Aami.

"Awesome! I haven't heard anything about what kind of food the cafeteria here has.. I hope it's good."

Marinity

Aaminah gave a soft laugh and a shake of her head. "Yeeeep. I didn't care much for Asterion personally, but,..."

She trailed off with a noncommital shrug, smiling gently afterwards as the other began to speak. It was then that she paused, her brows lifted. "Wait, seriously? Okay, I don't listen to a lot of music unless it's playing in a bar, but those are names I know. That's so crazy that someone still going to academy is managing some big names,"

The demon was, quite honestly, baffled. The whole concept astounded her.

"It's... cafeteria food, so it's not like it's your mom's home cooking or anything, but I still eat it everyday. I haven't died yet, so I consider that a success,"

"Ahaha, it's a lot of work, but I live for it!" Zenith grinned widely, flashing what could be seen as a corny thumbs up. She'd spent quite a bit of time figuring out how to balance her work and her studies - and it'd paid off pretty well! There were, of course, a few spots she could improve on...but everyone had their subjects they weren't good at, right?

"Ah well, I expected it wouldn't be." She nodded, "then again my mom's cooking stills are terrible so who knows, maybe it is better, haha!" A small shudder ran through her spine as she thought about it. She loved her mom - well, both of her mothers, but they were not chefs at all. "Not dying is definitely a success, mmhm~!"

As they approached the cafeteria, she looked around as if memorizing the area - something she'd need to do anyway. It'd be terrible to get lost her first couple of days really on campus, after all.
