"Ladies first," she declared sweetly, though the effect was somehow ruined by the baritone. The scent of the gray gelding from earlier was still strong on Ruth. So much so that her chestnut mare was so skittish it ran Ruth right into a bee's nest by surprise.

Koray decided not to ride Mortimer instead guiding the horse as he walked. the youth laughed. "Bit of trouble there----AAAAAHHHH!!!" he let out a screech as his footing slipped. Ruth rushed over to help haul the other knight back from the yawning chasm. Her act of kindness less because she was actually kind and more because he had the food. She didn't say as much because as she dusted him off and checked their rations, she spotted a crate of food!
