Near the summit of the mountain, Johan suddenly heard the keening of eagles around him. Looking up, he realized that these weren't ordinary eagles! Massive raptors filled the sky, and they didn't look happy.
The following bombardment was extremely painful. Strangely, though, the eagles flew him back to Camelot after he'd lost consciousness, and dumped him in the courtyard...
Johan was very confused when he woke up in the infirmary.

Once all his wounds had been attended to, Johan once again found himself asking for supplies from the Quartermaster. At this point, all funny looks had been replaced with complete indifference. He handed Johan a sack, and Johan headed for the stables to saddle Fee.

Somehow, Johan had managed to forget all about the bees. What with the dysentery, giant eagles, and all, small stinging insects had dropped off his radar.
Not for long, though.
Watching the rapidly receding form of Fee, Johan sighed, swung the pack of provisions over his shoulder and continued on.

TOO MANY LEGS! TOO MANY LEGS!
Johan dropped his food and scrambled away from the abomination that dropped down from the forest canopy on a string of silk the thickness of a baby's neck.
He didn't even bother to draw his Katana, he just left. Johan escaped with his life, but he was perilously low on food now.

Back in the Labyrinth, Johan once again stepped on the stone that released a flood of snakes at him. When he arrived at the exit, snake-bitten and bleeding, he took stock of his supplies and realized he didn't have enough to continue. Cursing his luck, he headed back through the tunnels towards Camelot.
The snakes started hissing at him again, but decided better of it when they saw his face.

Given that he'd almost starved out there the last time, Johan made sure to bring plenty of provisions with him this time. After spending time with Fee to make sure she was doing okay after the bees from last time, he saddled her up and head out.

He managed to catch himself, but some of his provisions went tumbling into the abyss. On his way back up, he got a very nice view of the helmeted skull that had caught his attention originally.

Back in the forest, with Fee this time, Johan had just dismounted to enjoy a meal when Fee screamed in terror, and began pulling against her leads. Johan turned, dropping his food and drawing his katana to see what scared her.
"YOU AGAIN?!"
Seconds later, he and Fee were galloping away, Johan having cut Fee's reins to quickly get away from the massive spider that was now contentedly munching on his lost meal.

Riding into the mountain labyrinth on Fee, Johan did his best to recall the layout and avoid the traps he'd encountered on his earlier forays. Deftly steering Fee around the traps with his knees, Johan spotted a sack at the side of the tunnel. Leaning down, he scooped it up, and cautiously opened it.
Provisions! Still good, too! He didn't know who had left it here. He could only hope they were okay, as he didn't see any remains with the supplies.

Finally at the mountaintop! And not (completely) alone this time, either. Johan patted Fee's neck as they rode to the summit.
However, he heard some familiar screeching. The eagles! He had been badly injured the last time he'd reached this point. Today, he intended to give a better showing of himself.
Katana drawn, Johan fought viciously until the birds were forced to give up. Battered, but triumphant, Johan rode Fee to the top.
Where he found a mantle decorated with blooming Silver Lace vines.
It wasn't the King, but it was quite fancy.

Rested and freshly adorned with the non-magical dopplganger of the mantle he'd found, Johan made his way down to the Quartermaster's and passed him the chit for more supplies.
He was handed the smallest pack of provisions yet. Johan and the Quartermaster had a brief exchange via looks.

Even Fee seemed confused about the lightness of the pack Johan tied to her. Johan sighed, patted her neck in reassurance, and started her down the mountain path.
Minutes later, he was clinging to the cliff, having managed to fall off the path again.
"How does this keep happening to me?!" he cried to the world in general.
