"Fine, you can stay here then, Yaholo if your pride is so important to you."

Rilind's words hit Yaholo's ears like searing blades, causing the brute to clench his teeth. Oh, so it was just his pride that was important, huh? Just his pride? Not the safety of his one-legged mother or his sisters who were already being hunted by the extremists because of him? It was obviously all about Yaholo's pride, right. He forgot just how selfish he was! How foolish! He clenched the side of the counter as his children called out for Rilind and did his best to breathe. He couldn't snap, it would scare Rilind, it would scare the kids, he had to keep calm. Calm, calm, calm...

"Inali, please get up from the couch and help." He said, giving the youngling a commanding gaze, before looking down to Drexl. "... I love you, too, sweetheart. Do you mind helping me set the table?"

Rilind encircled the house a few times, his anger and various fears swirling within him, threatening to overwhelm him. Ever since he was a youngling Rilind was afraid of and angry at... everything. His father, his mother, all the people around him, and when he was finally old enough he'd done the first thing that he'd been able to do, which was to run away. He continued to run as well. From his father who he feared, from those he feared would be hurt by his father, then later the Dretch who seemed to have a particular distaste for Rilind and seemed to crop up several times to come after him. Rilind had dealt with all manner of awful things, people hurting him because he was of mixed blood, people hurting him because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, or just because they were awful monsters... and he'd died once. It wasn't something he wanted his sons to experience, it wasn't something he wanted to have happen to Yaholo, if he lost Yaholo... or his children...

If he lost them then he'd have nothing, he would be nothing, and here he was telling Yaholo off, making it seem as though he didn't need or want him. It was fear ruling him again, causing him to want to do the one thing he always did, which was to run away. Lifting a hand he clutched it at his shoulder, the scar aching even though he knew it was just his mind getting the better of him. His shoulder had long since healed and while it was stiff sometimes during bad weather the pain he was feeling was ghost pain, pain caused by emotional trauma more then anything else. Glancing toward the house he gulped in some air, trying to steady himself, not wanting anyone to see him as an emotional mess.

Once he felt he was able to breath again he turned to look toward the house, taking a couple hesitant steps forward, paused, then started forward again. He was being so hesitant that his steps even up making no sound as he approached. He paused at the door where one of his sons was sitting, seeming to be waiting for him. He looked down at Lixes for a long moment, taking in the serious look on his face, one too serious for someone his age. Reaching out he picked the blond boy up, hugging him tightly, before he moved to set him down on the couch with Inali. He then proceeded to press a kiss to each of the three boy's heads before turning to look at Yaholo. There was that voice in the back of his head, ever present, that told him one day he was going to say something that made the big man hate him... he merely hoped today wasn't that day.

Walking away from the boys he pressed himself to Yaholo's back, eyes squeezing shut, and he clung to him, "I-I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... please, don't hate me Yaholo."

Inali made a defiant face at Yaholo's command and scooted toward the end of the couch, only to flop on Lixes as he was plopped beside him. His brothers made the best pillows, honestly, because they were always so warm and cuddly. However, dada and daddy were good pillows, too, except when daddy snored. He nuzzled into Lixes' back and giggled as Rilind kissed them, before tilting his head at how his fathers were behaving across the room.

"Why would daddy hate you, dada?" He asked, pursing his lips. "Did you dye his stuff pink like Jowee and Zaza did to Sammy's stuff?"

Drexl smiled at his Daddy before turning to get the plates and things set out on the table. As he was doing so his Dada walked in planting a kiss to his small head. Drexl giggled out. "Love you too Dada." softly. As was his natural tone. He made sure there was enough plates for his two elder brothers should they decide to join them for the meal. He heard Dada apologize, turning half way to watch his Fathers the small child looked at his brothers. "Nally help me get the cups. Lixy can you get the water pitcher?"

He figured he might get his brothers to help. That way whatever upset Dada couldn't happen again! Right. Cause Dada must of gotten upset over breakfast. They didn't help enough!

Lixes had been waiting in the doorway until his Dada appeared, something that had caused him to perk up a bit. More so when he found himself scooped up into the man's arms, getting a hug from him which had the little blond quite excited. He returned the hug before he was carried over and set down next to Inali. He was given a kiss, as did his brothers. He couldn't help but to relax and feel quite happy now that he knew that they weren't fighting over sticks or possible monsters anymore. Instead Dada seemed to be in a more friendly mood, even giving Daddy a hug.

He turned to look over at Drexl for a moment, then over to Inali to give him a thoughtful manner, before he hopped off the couch, "I can get the pitcher and help with cups if Inali is still sleepy!" He said, hurrying over to where the water pitcher was sitting, scooping it up carefully, then carried it over to the table. Pushing up onto his tip toes he put it table carefully before pushing it forward, slowing but surely so that it wouldn't fall or break. With that turned he looked over to Drexl once more, trotted over to see if he needed help with cups.

Yaholo really didn't want to start yelling at Inali, he really reaaallly didn't, but the fact that he was so keen on defying him at the moment made it hard for him to breathe. Any other time, yeah, he could turn his little nose in the air and pout and Yaholo would laugh, but now, no. Yaholo could barely take his own internal screaming and he didn't need a smug little mug being snotty with him right now. He ran a hand through his hair, gripped a grouping of dreads, and turned to ask Inali to help him again. However, as his hip moved to face him, the weight of Rilind's embrace caught him off guard. He paused, his eyes wide and mouth gaping open, and fought back the urge to cry. His nose scrunched up, his eyes squinted shut, and all that seemed to come from his chest was a coarse, heaving breath.

"I-I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... please, don't hate me Yaholo."

The words rang through his ears and vibrated, like the shrill ring of a bell. Why did Rilind think he hated him? He took a deep breath and wrapped his arms around Rilind.

"Ril, Ril, I don't hate you and I never ever will." He soothed, running his hands through Rilind's hair. "We had a disagreement, that's a normal part of any relationship. It's okay."

He sighed, his eyes moving to the boys and back to Ril. He didn't want to upset the boys with the rumors. He wanted to protect them from the world, as well as prepare them for it, but all while not shattering their innocence at this very moment. He bit his lip, looked to the ground, and shook his head solemnly.

"We'll get packing as soon as dinner's over." He resigned, his gaze moving to the boys again. "Yes, come on, everyone help set up for dinner, please. It'll be much easier if we all work together."

Rilind gave a bit of a shiver when he found himself in Yaholo's arms, something he had almost expected to be denied to him because he was acting in such an angry manner toward him. He didn't want to seem as though he were angry at Yaholo, it was Yaholo, it was the situation they found themselves stuck in at the moment. Lifting his head up he pressed a kiss to the underside of Yaholo's chin, "I am just... scared." He muttered the last word, hating to admit such a thing, "If it was just the two of us then I would be all for fighting back, or just defending this place, whichever you felt is the best choice. I just... can't risk a brawl with women so much bigger then me, not when our babies might be present." Rilind knew he was on the shorter, lankier side, because of this he knew he couldn't take on an army of those giant women himself and protect the babies. Not to mention he didn't want them to see him fight with those who were 'sisters' to them just because the women were unsocial and unreasonable.

As Yaholo seemed to give in he looked over toward the babies, then back again, "We don't have to stay away, just... a small vacation to Tale or something. We can invite the others along, can't we? You sister and her girls, you twins of course if they want to go along?" He sighed a little, certain that the rest of the family would see Rilind as a coward for retreating, but he had to look after the safety of the babies first. He refused to be a b*****d like his own father, he would risk his children or let them come to harm.

Reaching up he caught hold of a pair of Yaholo's dreadlocks, using them to pull him down for a kiss, "I can set the table, their much too short like I am. Besides, what if they dropped something? I don't want them getting hurt." He said, sounding as over protective of the trio as a mother witu.

Inali tilted his head, his question having gone unanswered. Sooo, was daddy mad or not? Was dada sad? What did he miss? He pursed his lips and scratched the back of his head, before being distracted by Drexl and Lixes. Get the cups? He blinked twice, rolled his eyes, and hopped off the couch. Alright, sounded easy enough. He shuffled toward his brothers like a snail and reached up for the cups. Why did everything need to be so high off the ground? It was like the world just wanted him to work!

"Huh?" He said as Rilind spoke, his tiny arms folding across his chest. "So, who's setting this dumb table? Me, Lixes, and Drexy or dada? You guys need to decide, sheesh!"

Drexl already had figured out how to stand on his tip-toes to get the plates where they needed to be. He was too short to reach the drawer with the forks and such in them...he would leave that up to Dada. Looking back after helping Lixes get the pitcher more solid on the table he chirped up. "We got the plates and water pitcher Dada. I can't reach the forks or knives...but I don't think that's something we should be near right now."

He pouted at Inali, "Nally! Be nice! Dada and Daddy are bonding!" at hearing mention of the twins he let out a happy little squeak. "Big brother Sammi and Big brother Kenny!! Are they gunna be here for dinner? Or are they gunna eat later when we're in bed again?" he pouted. He really did love his big brothers. Though they looked more like the scary "sisters" and Daddy than they did. That was okay...they showed love to the small triplets. Drexl stayed where he was though he really wanted to hug his Fathers at the moment.

Lixes looked over at Inali, likely grumpy because he had been forced to wake up and get up, and he took a couple steps closer to him so he could pet his hair in a soothing manner, "Dada said he would so we don't risk getting hurt." He explained, kind of understanding how they might get hurt since things were taller then them and the various dishes could break. He understood, but he still wanted to help somehow! He'd have to see about trying to get Inali back in a more amiable mood by giving him snuggles and petting his head he decided.

That thought in mind he turned toward Drexl when his darker haired brother spoke up, asking about their older brothers. His mismatched eyes went wide before he turned to look over at his parents, "Will they come back soon? I want to play with big brothers!" He said, clapping his hands together in front of him, excited at the prospect of being able to play with them. They didn't get to see them as much since they were older and got to go out on their own. Not to mention that the three of them had earlier bed times then the twins. If there was a chance they might be able to catch them soon Lixes was excited for it.

Yaholo let out a tired breath and resigned to nodding. He understood, that wasn't the problem, it was just the fact that he was being forced from his own home that upset him. He looked to the window a moment as Rilind suggested a small vacation to Tale and tilted his head backward in consideration. It would be alright with his father, he knew that. He did need to check on Honovi's progress and make sure she stuck with everything he'd taught her. Hell, maybe he could convince his mother to leave with them so she could spend time with his dad for the first time in years. That would significantly ease his conscience over leaving his family here... He scrunched up his lips and rolled his shoulders.

"I doubt Tahigwa would want to come, she's more than ready to rip these extremists to shreds." He said, giving a chuckle. "Of course, I'd need to drag Pahana and Ujana home, they can't stay here. I don't know why they moved here in the first place, really, it seemed so... Forced."

He shrugged and placed a kiss on Rilind's forehead.

"Anyway, it's decided, we'll pack and leave as soon as possible." He continued, turning his attention to Inali. "Oi, little mister! If you think the table is so dumb, would you rather eat on the floor like an animal?"

He didn't know where Inali was getting the idea that he could be rude, but Yaholo wasn't about to take it. He gave the blue haired boy a stern look before turning toward Drexl and Lixes. Hm, wasn't Samoset out with that friend of his still? Aysun? He furrowed his brows in thought. And Kennet... Where was Kennet today, actually? His lips puckered. Those two were really busy lately, weren't they? He'd need to catch them by the shoulders for some father-son time the next time they were home.

"Mmmm, I don't know, babies. Sam and Ken have been pretty busy lately." He replied, sighing. "They might be home later, but I'm not sure. I'll tell them to stay home for dinner tomorrow, okay?"

Rilind sighed, not sure what he thought about her wanting to attack the extremists. There was, of course, a part of him that kind of wanted to... but at the same time he knew that he had to think of his babies first. He had protect them, keep them safe, he couldn't go picking fights! That in mind he gave a nod at Yaholo's words, "We should take those who will go with us, better to keep the family together and safe if possible." Even if they weren't his family per say he still wanted them to remain safe he thought as he moved together enough dishes to set the table with. He was just setting the stack on the table when he heard Inali first call the table 'dumb' and then Yaholo telling him he could eat on the floor if it was so dumb.

Giving a soft sigh he glanced over at them, "Behave, Inali, and don't call things 'dumb', please." He said to him as he set to work setting the table, pausing when the boys set to chattering about the twins, turning to look Yaholo's way as he seemed to be thinking on their questions. After he answered them, saying the twins wouldn't be there for dinner, he continued with the setting of the table. He had only gotten five settings, had the twins been around he'd of had to get that many more dishes for everyone.

Once he had things set he motioned to the boys, "Come on, get in your seats." He told them, then looked to Inali, "So long as you think the table isn't too dumb to sit at?" He would much rather he sat at the table instead of on the floor, but he supposed that it would be up to him?

Inali folded his arms. Ugh, why couldn't he say things the way he wanted to? It was so stupid! The table was dumb, getting up was dumb, the whole world was dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb! He mimicked Yaholo's stern look and rolled his eyes at his brothers. Who cares if they were bonding? They did that all the time! He turned his little nose up in the air, only to look to Rilind as he spoke.

"Okaaaay, dada." He sighed, shuffling over to the table. "The table isn't that... Silly. I guess I'll sit here with you guys instead of the floor."

He made a bit of a face to himself. Saying silly instead of dumb just didn't feel right to him. It felt... Stupid.

Drexl let out a small squeak as Inali went on. Feeling meek the smallest of the triplets scurried into his chair. Fumbling till he sat right. Once righted the youngling smiled up at his Daddy. "Okay Daddy! I can't wait to see them at least. Sammi said he'd teach us how to....properly nap." the youngling finished his statement with a heck of a puzzled look. He tilted his head before looking at his brothers. There was a way to properly nap?!? He then looked up at Dada, "Dada...will you tuck me in tonight?"

Lixes gave a smile when it seemed that Inali was going to behave, calling things 'silly' instead of 'dumb' which was something that their parents seemed to prefer. He moved over to his seat, climbing up into it, then looked over at his parents and asked, "Do you think that we can sleep in their room with them if they say its alright? I think it would be fun to be able to camp with them!" He chirp, reaching out to pick up his cup after Rilind poured some juice into it for him.

Lifting it to his lips he took a sip, smiling a little, before he looked over at his pparents, giving a nod, "It's good!" He said happily, before he looked over at his brothers, "You should try this, it's really good and sweet!" He said, waiting for whatever it was that they were having for dinner. He hoped that it was as good as the drink, he also hoped that there was some meat involved since he loved it best!

After a moment of what was deep thought for one his age Lixes asked of his parents, "If the twins are going to be home tomorrow night can we help make dinner for them? I want to help! I think that it will be a lot of fun!" If they made something really super tasty for them then maybe they would stay home longer then normal? At least that was what he hoped and if that happened then the three of them could play with the two older boys! That was Lixes's plan at least, one that seemed to make sense to him though he was still young yet and wasn't quite the master of plotting.
