[ WuXia | Tour Sign-Up ]

"So cool!" was WuXia's response, as though she had just completed some kind of quest, and was thrilled to meet another psychic. One who could talk to people with her brain, no less! And, WuXia noted, as others approached, she was first in line! There hadn't been a line when she'd shown up, but that little fact was enough to bolster WuXia's already-ebullient mood.

Having signed up, or registered, or whatever had just happened, WuXia stepped aside a little so that she wasn't blocking the other two. One, the girl, was older and therefore taller than WuXia, so she'd probably be fine, and WuXia returned the girl's wave with an energetic gesture of one arm. The other boy looked kind of mousy, though, and was shorter than WuXua, which to WuXia meant that he needed special consideration. The girl, who had floaty, pale-blonde hair, introduced herself, and WuXia made a note of it: She had a hard time putting faces to names if she didn't make an effort, and her parents had told her to remember anyone she met during the open house.

"They're going to be your classmates and teachers," her father had smiled, "so try and make some new friends, all right?"

Of course, having signed up, WuXia could have wandered off, but after hearing Celine - nah, CiCi, it was shorter - talk, WuXia was interested enough to stick around, at least for a little while longer. She'd thought that she'd been talking to an older student, but maybe she was a teacher? She hadn't acted much like a teacher, though; WuXia thought she seemed more like a cool big sister, though admittedly, WuXia wasn't sure. She was an only child after all.

Lindy nodded at the dog as he correctly... guessed?... her name. Though she supposed it wasn't a guess at all. She could barely move a quarter around without touching it. How weird would it be to get inside someone's head, especially if you were a dog!

But he had asked her a question, and she did have a reason for coming here first specifically, beyond interacting with adorable green-skinned campers.

"Oh! Yeah! I came by for some pamphlets." As if affirming her words, she leaned over and took one. "I wanted to know more about pets in student housing! And can animals come to class and stuff?"

Mona eyed over Celine with a narrowed stare and a playful smirk. "Are you flattering me?" she chuckled.

The approach of another curious camper gave way to more welcoming smiles and waves. "Hi there. Not for another hour, so unless you wanna stand around chatting with me you guys should go and have fun. Don't worry, you won't miss it!"

With that, she turned her attention back to CiCi's questions. "We're gonna go all around the grounds and through the school, so I'll show you where everything is and I don't mind making detours if you're curious about something!" A single finger was raised and pointed in the tall girl's direction. "And you never went to camp. I'll be your Crash Course instructor -- Mona Sinclair."

Toffee managed to catch Hugh as he was straightening the table cloth. The man chuckled and leaned with the force of her hug, then reached down to pat her large mess of orange hair.

"Hey there, little one. Are you hungry?" Hugh looked up at the platters of fresh hot dogs and ham burgers. Between them and the salad, it seemed like an easy guess which would be more appetizing for the little Woof.

If dogs would chuckle aloud, Doolittle certainly looked like he would have. Juniper's eager and surprised fumbling was quite charming! and the puppy professor (yes, indeed) was grateful to both girls for inquiring about their pet policies.

Absolutely, let me get one for you. The dog pulled his paws off the table and hopped off his stool to scuttle underneath the table cloth to a small cardboard box. When he returned, there were two identical pamphlets in his mouth that he placed on the table.

No pets during scholastic or psychic classes, unless expressly allowed by an instructor, he noted with a droop of his snout, Unfortunately they would cause distractions for other students and during psychic courses it would be difficult to keep an eye on them. But-- Doolittle's head tilted towards Juniper, --we do have pet power classes, which I will be teaching.

He watched the girls talk, feeling pretty relaxed. These girls were older, even the camper he was with looked older then him, and it reminded him of home and being around his older sisters. Even so, he was pretty anxious which was evident by the way that he was playing with his hands and glancing around. Another hour meant he was free to go and do other things, but he didn't know what he wanted to do. There were already other campers everywhere but he couldn't find any of his cabin mates or Aide. Looking back at the girls around him he was sure that staying there was the best bet.

Now that two of the girls had introduced themselves, and maybe the camper also though he could have missed that, he felt obligated to do the same. He didn't want to come off as rude. "I'm Zajac." he said when there was a lull in the conversation. His voice was just loud enough to be heard by the girls and paired with a small smile.

"And I'm WuXia!" WuXia contributed, half-turning to regard the boy next to her. He seemed like he might be a little younger than her, since WuXia had to glance down a bit to study him frankly with her light-blue eyes, but WuXia was terrible at judging ages, partially because those things usually didn't matter to her. What mattered, at the moment, was that everyone seemed to be introducing themselves, so WuXia had to get in on that!

Hearing that Mona would contact each of them for the start of the tour, WuXia managed to suppress the urge to ask questions about the different parts of campus; she wanted to know more about where you were supposed to practice your powers, but she reminded herself that she could do that while actually on the tour. Instead, she half-turned on the spot, in the other direction this time, craning her neck to find the booth that had first caught her eye when she'd entered the hall. The purple-swathed booth with the dark-haired teacher seated behind it was a beeline away from where WuXia currently stood, and WuXia grinned brightly.

"See you later, Instructor Mona!" chirped Wuxia, having taken her most recent words as a sign that she could go. She was looking forward to the tour, of course, but there was just so much left to see! With that, she turned to the boy, having sized him up and decided that she liked his rabbit hoodie, so he was probably a nice guy.

"Za-jac?" she echoed, testing out the name to make sure she was saying it right. "You wanna go look at everything else? That one over there says you can get your fortune told!" Assuming that the answer would be 'Yes,' because why not? WuXia took hold of Zajac's hand and began pulling him over to the fortune-telling booth, blissfully unaware of such things as cooties. After a second's thought, she paused, turning back to wave at the paler blonde with her free hand.

"Do you wanna come too, Miss CiCi?" she called, not sure how to address a student instead of a camper, and settling for a compromise that would still let her say CiCi, which was such a fun name!

Zajac was completely happy just waiting there until the tour. Sure there were other things he could do, but he felt safe there so there was no need to go elsewhere. Plus he already had done the polite thing and introduced himself so there was nothing more he really had to do. However although he was fine not doing anything, it seemed that WuXia had something else planned for them.

When she said his name he nodded. She was saying it better then most people did on the first time. "You can... You can call me Zack, or Jac... You know... If it's easier." he offered the other girl. She then asked a question, and before he could politely decline and tell her that he was fine just waiting there until the tour started she took his hand and started walking away. Although this startled him for a second he imagined she was Zofia and it calmed him down, not completely but enough that he didn't make a started noise.

He wasn't sure if he wanted his fortune told, but he would go with the girl anyways. He didn't want to say no now, she could possible cause a scene and he wouldn't be okay with that. When she invited the older girl he just stood there with a soft smile, not moving a muscle. It didn't bother him much if the older girl came or not. She hadn't bothered him so he deemed her safe, at least for now.

As Cici spoke he wondered about this community she talked about, but he wasn't about to ask. Hopefully WuXia would and he would about it that way.

"It's nice meeting you guys," Mona winked with a grin. She gave a particular smile to Zajac, who seemed just a bit out of his element. "Have a good time! I'll let you know when we're about to go."

She paused, wondering if she should encourage them to annoy Kaspar. Nah. They wanted their fortunes told and Nightshade was cool people. If they could be spared Instructor Faust's droning until class time, all the better.

Once Toffee had made her selection, Hugh rifled through his own pocket for a dollar to put into the pay jar. Of course he hadn't expected the poor dear to pay, her situation was a bit complicated for that. How she approached her quarry was comical in itself and the man found himself chuckling as he bent down to clean up her remnants. It was a bit unfortunate they would be wasted but now probably wasn't the best time to try and force her to eat her veggies, least of all veggies slapped on the floor.

"Hope you like it," he uttered, rhetorically, but the tone of his voice and its accompanying smile carried a pleasantness she could hopefully pick up on. Perhaps it was easier to communicate with Toffee strictly through emotion.

His ears twitched curiously as Juniper fumbled with her questions. With a slight push of telekinesis, Doolittle adjusted his glasses and settled more comfortably at the booth. Both paws found their way onto the table again.

Usually. Our pet population hasn't been very large, but I imagine that may not be the case this year. He glanced between the two of them. Oh, they certainly don't eat each other, no no. Sometimes they don't get along though and we make accommodations for that. It hasn't been much of a problem before. Bridging the communication gap really does wonders for behavioral problems, most of the time.

Hmm, perhaps he was being too long winded here. Doolittle's posture shifted, the tone of his thoughts softening. They'll be fine, he offered reassuringly.

Though they were just arriving, it seemed their conversation carried well enough. Miss Nightshade sat comfortably at her booth, one elbow resting on the table with a hand pressed to her cheek. A calm smile carried a serene feeling with it.

"I suppose they'll just have to defy fate," she answered in Celine's stead. Her purple painted lips tugged upwards, the smile growing in sincerity.
