Twilight was sound asleep as she laid with Mana. She had her little face buried in Mana's fur and sleeping curled up in a little ball of fluffy, messy, grey and white fur. When she woke up it had been about an hour but she was hearing something moving in the moss bed. It was a mouse. She crawled over to it and barked a bit as she started to gently paw and play bite at it.

Mana watched Twilight play with the mouse and shook her head with a smile. "A fine hunter you will be one day, little one. But, now that you're awake... It's time for a bath." she said, pulling the pup back into her front legs, and licking her face. "You need to be cleaned up for dinner, and Skaal should be home any minute now."

Twilight giggled as she was given a bath. Mana's tongue was tickling her and making her laugh. She liked Mana a lot so far but was starting to miss her real mother.

Skaal came up a few moments later, dragging a small deer down to the small impression of ground beneath the short cliff. When he got there, he released his hold with his mouth and jumped up to their den. "Oh good, you're both up. I brought dinner. Deer this time."

Mana perked as Skaal returned, and finished cleaning Twilight first before she stood up. "Welcome back. Was it a good hunt?" she asked, nuzzling his muzzle with hers. "Was there anything suspicious? I smelled...pig on that mother wolf earlier. Which is strange for them to be prowling around these parts of the mountains."

Skaal nuzzled Mana in return. "Nothing in particular. No threats out there right now, just the deer. But...if there are boars around then they are straying from their own hunting grounds. Very strange..."

Twilight then started playing with the mouse again once it came back. She giggled as it squeaked at her causing her to chase it some. Twilight was always a playful cub so this wouldn't be a surprise to anyone of their pack once she would grow bigger.

Mana glanced at Twilight, then looked back at Skaal. "We should be cautious from now on. In case there are some rogue boars roaming in our territory. For now, let's eat." she said, walking over to the deer corpse. She waited patiently for her mate to take the first bite, as was the rule for all wolves to wait for the alpha male to eat first.

] Skaal walked over to the deer, taking a large bite before walking a little ways away to lay down on chew on the meat. "It's good. Go ahead."

Mana smiled and bit off a large chunk of meat as well. She wandered over towards the nest and started to eat the deer meat. "It is quite good. Fresh." she said.

Once she finished playing with the mouse, Twilight went over to Mana grunting as she started to suckle from her new mommy. She wasn't used to Mana but thought she seemed nice enough. So for now she'd let Mana take care of her until her 'real mommy' came to get her. As far as she thought, her mother was still alive but was lost.

Mana blinked, feeling the pup trying to nurse again. "So soon? My goodness..." she said, munching on some more meat before she rolled onto her side. "She's hungry, if anything..." Then she looked over at Skaal. "So, are you going to plan to scout tomorrow? To see if any boars are in our territory?"

Skaal watched Twilight a moment. "Hmm... Yes, kind of strange. But yes. I thought we should all scout the surrounding area. If they are near, it's not safe to leave you two alone here."

"I doubt the pup can walk yet. She's very young. But, I shall carry her." she said, nodding at Skaal's statement. "You are right, it wouldn't be safe for myself or the little one to be here alone."

Skaal looked down at the pup a long moment, watching her carefully. Then he looked at Mana, "She can walk. But we can wait another day while she gets more comfortable with doing so." He looked at Twilight, "If only she was a bit older..."
