“Partially…?” she said awkwardly at the mention of Zedekiah mapping their galaxy; he really didn’t, though he did contribute greatly by daring to go where others wouldn’t. Nevertheless, these voyages were costly for supplies and tech that was necessary for wherever they were going. “Not really. I’m from Stratos, but an adult’s still an adult to our people. And no, they’re kind of, you know, dead? Assassinated? Yeah, politics does that to you nowadays,” she replied passive aggressively. Aresé would likely know—common targets sent to be killed by assassins nowadays were politicians that were against the powerful criminal organizations. It was a subject that made her uncomfortable, so she proceeded to switch subjects. “I’m hungry for some churros. Want some from the courtyard?” It was a pastry with nothing animal-based, so the concept of veganism was still preserved.

Pausing, Aresé looked apologetic, for a moment, "Sorry... I didn't realize you vere..." Dropping the subject, she stood fully, and shrugged, "If you vish to get these... churros... then ve shall. Lead ze vay, ma'am. Pleaze forgive me, I hav yet to memorize ze layout of ze ship, zo, it seem zilimar to many others... By ze end of ze journey, I vill be able to hide you effectively, if nezizary." Tucking her hands into her pockets, she waited for the girl to lead them, tucking her goggles over her eyes again, not wanting the other passengers to get in a panic over her breeding.

The girl was silent until they were alone. When the door was shut and her elder sister had already revealed her excitement, she finally spoke. "I don't like it." She was homesick. This was too fancy for her. She was not used to any of it. She walked over to one of the beds, sitting down on it. "I think a spa sounds silly. Who wants to get paid to touch other people?" Clearly, she was not quite into the whole liking boys thing or she would have perhaps seen the dirtiness in her own statement. But in her mind, it was just gross. "But you go have fun. I'm going to take a nap." She curled up on the bed, pulling her knees up to her chest, as she moved to face the wall , or at least...anything other then her sister. She was not upset with her, by any means, she just didn't know what to do with herself. It felt so weird. While she did want to explore, she felt like of like a little bug in a jar, being observed by a scientist. Plus the room needed to have more black in it. It was too bright and cheery. Too elegant. It felt weird for the teen.
She closed her eyes, and while she didn't really fall completely asleep, she did enter that weird phase of half sleep. The phase where one might have a dream or two, but could easily wake without feeling too groggy or out of place. But soon enough she was dreaming of numbers. Only numbers. It was nice to have her dad around, but this place was far too fancy. She needed some kind of more..kid friendly thing. Chances were that she would love the arcade. Did she really realize there was one? Maybe she did but didn't care or maybe she thought her sister wouldn't want to go? She didn't want to go without her sister, to anywhere.

“I’ll be back in an hour or two. Enjoy your nap!” she exclaimed, waving in farewell. It wasn’t too hard to navigate around, especially since there was a directory here and there to remind her where to go. Her views contrasted greatly with her sister’s about the newfound fortune; she had always dreamt of more, and she wouldn’t neglect the new commodities made available to her. While her sister slept, she actually managed to have a long, hot bath, some touch-ups, and a massage that greatly relieved the tension in her back. Admittedly she was the one who stood among the pampered princesses inside, but first class benefits were first class benefits, and her masseuse knew all too well how to apply those hands. For the time she was there to when she left, about two hours had passed.
It wasn’t until she was on her way back that she even realized there was an arcade, likely because she skimmed through and searched specifically for the spa last time she went to the directory. When she returned to the room, she took a seat on the side of her sister’s bed. Her hand held coffee, Rollo having jumped in her lap with the others quickly scurrying over to snuggle up at her side. It was first come first serve, so Rollo received the petting, feeling very comfortable with her fingers rubbing his fur.

She was still in that half sleep when her sister came in and sat on the side of the bed. She was not woken by the movement but instead when a cat pounced on her. With an oof she woke up, and grabbed hold of the cat, very gently since she did not want to hurt the cat. "Meany, now why did you have to go and do that?" She asked the cat. The cat merely purred as if he were king and did not do anything wrong. "You're spoiled." She said, once more speaking to the cat. She set the cat down and ran her fingers through her black hair as she looked at her sister who had a cup of coffee and a cat in her possession.
"wow you look all fancy." She said, laughing a bit. "You look great." She then added. They went from living in...well, gosh what would they call where they had been living? They were going from that to, something more. But what would happen if Talia got adjusted to this then later it was taken away? What if their father threw them away again, neglected them, leaving them to their own devices? Would they be able to maintain a better life or would they fall even further into disarray? It was better not to think about it, and instead count their blessings. Right? Talia was too long to have such morbid thoughts, so her mind was clear of such things. A blessing, truly.

“Ja, unt I’m very hoongry. Onvard to sie das vood kourt!” she said in a mock German accent. Minesmé could play accents too; this was hers to play around with, but that wasn’t going to be frequent. When they reached the food court, the first instinct was to find the vendors. It was a good thing Parallax was a human-based airline, so there was some food she was used to seeing. And among it all was a churro vendor, which made her run excitedly to spend some credits on a plate of fifteen with chocolate dips. As soon as they were seated, she munched away on one.

Was... was the girl mocking her accent? Of course she could drop it on a dime, and sound like she could be from anywhere, but that was her natural tone... her voice... then she realized the girl was just playing. Sighing, she followed after, the childish acting was something she was going to have to get use too.
Arriving at the food court, she let Minesmé run to the vendor, letting her put space between them. She didn't need to follow the girl everywhere? As long as she was within range to get there in a matter of seconds, then she would be fine. Getting them some bottled water, and a can of soda for herself, she found a table for them. When she brought back the food, Aresé looked over the food, "... Odd shaped... zo, it looks tasty." Cracking open her soda, she set the bottled water down on Minesmé's side, "'ere... You might vant zis..." She murmured, before picking up one of the churros, and chewing on it. Ehh...not bad.

“Frodo!” she exclaimed, realizing that he woke her right up. “I guess I look a little more polished. I had some rust and dirt on me from the junkyard, but my clothes were cleaned for the time I was in there. And one of them offered to cut my hair—to which I responded with as followed…” Using her face to form a false glare for a few moments, she quickly chuckled. Just because they were on better times didn’t mean she’d be losing her Stratos grit anytime soon. Even if they were going to go shopping eventually, she’d only give her looks an upgrade, not really changing her overall style. When she first had her hair that way, it was very touching—she had asked to look more unique, so her mother cut it for her, asymmetrical with a shaved side, something simple and easily done.
“I found this really raja arcade while I made a shortcut back here. We ought to come by and play some air hockey or something, but I’m hungry. I ordered us some food over from the phone too,” she said, which was why she was waiting so patiently there. “Raja” was just Stratos street slang for something grandiose, evidently taken from an old title of nobility of the same name. When she heard the knock, she stood up, Rollo jumping off her lap. It felt so welcoming when she opened the door and trays of food were brought in to the table, the people quickly exiting. Just hiding in the cabinets were plates and silverware for them to use, so she quickly strolled over to fetch some. Since they didn’t exactly eat lunch, right then was a good time to share a meal together. In the platters were grilled salmon, baked Buffalo wings, lasagna, and Alfredo pasta. And that wasn’t even mentioning dessert, which was cheesecake. “Well then. ‘Let them eat cake,’ said Marie Antoinette!” Using a goofy facial expression, she attempted a maniacal laugh, before chuckling yet again.

Minesmé plunged her churros into the chocolate dips frequently; she had a sweet tooth that had yet to be sated. When she heard the comment about their food, she giggled a bit. “Wow, that’s what she said…” Minesmé happily drank down the pop offered to her, letting the liquid help her take down the food she had excitedly eaten. “What’s it like? I’m guessing you’ve had to work for some really annoying people at times, right? What’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done in your job?” For the most part, people minded their own business, especially since they were on a ship and their objectives were to get somewhere else and do something independently, so they didn’t have to worry about external attention. Minesmé really enjoyed the ride so far, especially because of food.

"Vell.." Dropping her goggles to around her neck, she lent back, pulling a carton of Lucky Strikes from her pocket. Biting down on one of the filters, she pulled a golden Zippo from her other pocket, and lit the ciggerette, "... You... zertinly don't know vhere ze day vill take you. I mostly work az a bounty 'unter, for a bail bond company. It just means when someone miszes zeir court date, or breaks a restraining order, I go, and bring zem back to jail. I get cash for each capture, zen zere are ze rare cazes where I get picked for being a body guard." Taking a few draws off her cig, she blew the smoke out her nose, before taking a draw off her soda. "Now... zere vas one voman vho 'ired me for body guarding... Oy vey... her voice.." Coughing a few times, she suddenly said in such a snarky, posh voice, "Like, Oh my god, look! It's so pink! So pretty! I muusstt have it! Please! Pretty please! Pleeeaaassee!" Aresé shivered, "I 'ated working for 'er... a b_tch through and through. Kicked passed ze 'omeless, almost killed a puppy, and made me carry every g-ddamn bag. Ugh." She rolled her black eyes, though the action with her eyes not very noticeable, her bodily actions would show what she intended.
"MMmm... Ze most exciting zing? Vell... let me zink on that." Pausing, She closed her eyes, taking a draw on her ciggerette, before smirking. "Ahh... yes... Vell, Minesmé... I think you'll like zis one." With a smile, Aresé started to paint with words, telling of her first month on the job. A man, who was on the run from the court, for some reason or another, "Robbery, I zink.." She told a story where she and her mentor went against the Police, and followed what they knew. They tracked him several habitable plants over, where he was trying to start a new life with the cash he had stolen, in a small town. "Zis man... 'e 'as a family. Zo, we managed to corner him at a zoftball game. Ve didn't know zis, but 'e 'ad a gun. When we came forward to arrest 'im, 'e pulled it out, shot me twice. Me mentor went at him at this point, fists flew, the gun fired off several times, kids and adults panicking, I vas forgotten at zis point, zo, vhen I 'ad a chance, I took it, and tackled 'om to ze ground. Broke ze b*****d's nose for leaving me with two scars."

It took her a minute to process her accent, but she ultimately had a good laugh at the stories; they were very entertaining. “Makes sense. It sounds pretty damned raja to me. I heard there’s two kinds of bounty hunters, the lawful kind, and then there’s the more assassin-type of bounty hunter. You know, high-tier targets that people set a bounty on to have killed? I don’t know. I was originally led to some site, a whole different network entirely for my protection. You know how Stratos is; there’s confidential matters occasionally. I wouldn’t ever want to meet one of those guys.” Her informants told her plenty of underhanded occurrences. “Like umm—what was his name? Dead somethin’, like…” It escaped her memory. Her head had the names mixed up, but she was referring to one notorious killer in particular, someone who worked for the Syndicate.

Aresé waved her hand, "Best you forget aboot zose zites... Zey bring nozing but killers. Sick vith me... I vill alwayz do vat you say." She said softly, "Don' try to remember 'is name. I know oo you speak of... 'is name alone brings unwanted attention." She warned, and ground out the last of her almost finished ciggerette on her boot heel. Sighing, she flicked the butt, and watched it land in the trash can several meters away. Munching on a Churro, she dunked it into a chocolate dip, claiming that container for herself, "Just trust me... forget bout 'im."

She just looked at all the food in awe. What were most of the items? She slid off the bed and picked up a fork, using it to poke the various foods. She had never had salmon before, in fact, fish was not usually something she had. But lasagna , she had had that a few times, but this one didn't look as fatty. A shame. She took a bite of the fish, making a funny face, because she thought it slimy and smelly. She then went to the buffalo wings, which she found amazing. She really like those. She also liked the lasagna, and tried some of the Alfredo pasta, but the Alfredo sauce was very rich, not quite to her liking. But all in all, it felt good to be full and to see her sister full as well. "Is that a cheesecake? Dude, someone told me about these and showed me a picture of one in a book, but...I didnt wanna read too much." So she had not learned much about them. Cheesecakes could be very expensive, so she was curious as to what they tasted like. Cautiously she took a bite of the cheesecake, and after a moment, she gave a thumbs up. "It doesn't taste like cheese." She said, very confused. In fact, it tasted more like a cream to her. But she did like it.
When she was finished eating, she set the fork down, whipped her mouth with her napkin, and went to the mirror to fix her hair. She left her hair down normally, so she just needed to run her fingers through it. It was naturally black and she preferred it that way. Matched her entire wardrobe. "Okay...about this arcade?" She said, turning towards her sister with increasing interest. Air hockey sounded like a fun thing to do, and she was sure there would be tons of other games for them to play as well.

Well the lazy thing was to not bother trying to remember, the second was that Aresé probably knew what was best; she’d seen plenty more than she did. “I’ll take your word for it,” she replied. When they finished, she tried to throw it into the trash can but missed horribly. “Damn.” Minesmé quickly walked over to throw it away properly, some people looking at her as if she were crazy. “And that is why I prefer swords; I was never good at aiming.” It wasn’t that she was some legendary swordswoman either; she was much better in comparison to handguns though.

Aresé just chuckled, a hearty sound from deep in her throat, "Practize and you'll get better." She said, and stood from the booth, grabbing her soda, "So, vhere too now, Minesmé? I'm shure you know zis ship more zen I, zo, it iz entirely up to you vhere we go." Tucking her hands into her pockets, she looked around, and got curious looks in her direction. Pulling her goggles up, she tried to blend in, always hating when the spotlight was on her.
