W hile Stranny was off chasing Darumaka, the other pokemon gathered themselves together. Daeva crawled up the remaining steps, giving a slightly grumpy croak at the sun and heat. Although her eyes were virtually nonexistent now, she looked visibly bothered at the weather. Totodile, surprisingly, didn't seem to care-- his manic laughter was present as he danced on the hot sand. Or maybe he was dancing and laughing madly because it was too hot? It was hard to tell. Deys didn't look perturbed at all, and Sotnik gazed up at the sun, eyes squinting against the light. This certainly wasn't the most favorable weather to be training in... but there was probably a good reason Zak had them here. Hopefully. Darumaka [3rd roll] Darumaka became confused! A s Sotnik brought his attention down, he noticed the sand moving nearby. He absently flapped his tail against the ground, ready in case whatever it was attacked. As soon as the Darumaka popped out, though, looking far from ready to strike, Totodile leaped over, slamming a water tail down hard on the little pokemon's head. "Dar!" It cried out, then, presently, fainted, sinking slowly back under the sand. Totodile grinned, eyes flashing as it cackled. S otnik sighed, dropping his head a bit as he watched the gator gallop off. To be fair, Totodile hadn't done much training back at the house. Stranny got most of the battles, and those that he didn't get, Daeva usually demanded for herself. The rest of them had gotten some training, but even amongst the 'others', Deys probably had the most with his reserved three battles of most of the challenges. Still, though, Totodile's eagerness was a little unnerving, if only because how clearly bloodthirsty it was. The challenge, the adrenaline, wasn't what he was after-- it was the whole 'hurting others until they stop moving' thing that he enjoyed. Deciding it was best someone keep an eye on him, the serperior slipped off, slithering over the sand to trail the water starter pokemon in his gleeful pursuit of opponents. Deys, meanwhile, walked along at a slower pace, with Daeva keeping surprisingly nearby. She seemed to be scanning, evidently assessing that her chances of combat were better if she remained away from Sotnik, who had similar battle priority to her. H er strategy paid off, and Daeva quickly crouched down as a Sigilyph floated into view. Deys shifted and glanced down at her, but stilled his steps, letting her take the battle she clearly wanted, as per Zak's instructions. Totodile was, luckily, not around, so there was no need to concern himself with checking others interference, and it only took one messy attack from Daeva to bring the psychic pokemon down, its feather-like appendages bent at unpleasant angles as it picked itself up, faltering as it tried to levitate away. Daeva grinned, watching after it with her tail swishing sharply behind her. No remorse... she was almost as bad as Totodile... Sigilyph [3 roll] Any x3 Halloween Event Candy Items OoB;

A lthough Daeva had landed herself a Sigilyph, Totodile seemed to be having slightly better luck as he encountered another Darumaka. These little fire furballs were evidentially all over the place, and another one popped up only to be quickly smacked back down by the gator. Sotnik sighed, slipping off to follow the cackling croc and sparing a pitying glance at the beaten little b*****d in the sand. W hile Totodile pranced around, searching for another victim opponent, Sotnik followed. He paused as he heard something behind him, turning to see yet another Darumaka pop out, ready for battle. He glanced over at Totodile, who was looking elsewhere-- and promptly swept a watered down tail at the pokemon, knocking it away, and out. It wasn't exactly much better, but it wasn't quite as brain-bashingly hard as the force Totodile put into his attack. Even though Sotnik could hit harder, he at least.... tried to tapper his attack to a more appropriate power, just enough to daze the pokemon and send it packing. S igilyph, Sigilyph, where could you be? Daeva prowled the sands, mouth open as she tried to catch wind, taste, or sound of the psychic pokemon. She was aware there were others on the grounds, of course, but this one was her favorite so far. The water sprites could have the Darumakas-- she enjoyed taking the large levitating pokemon out. And, as luck had it, she encountered yet another, pouncing on it quickly and easily taking it down. Deys was still following along. "Two." She straightened, turning and frowning at him as her defeated opponent fled. He bowed his head slightly, meeting her virtually nonexistent gaze. "If we encounter pokemon for which you have no distinct desire to fight, or clear advantage," he explained in a low voice, "I would like to fight them. At least two." She frowned slightly, but didn't seem to disregard. In fact, her response was impossible to read, and after seeming to stare at him a moment, she simply turned, continuing to patrol the sands in search of battle. D aeva's claws dug into the sand as she walked, but she came to a stop as a cactus-like pokemon appeared, her tail swishing. She seemed to stare at it a moment, then turned a little, turning her head to look back to Deys. He straightened, returning her gaze, then bowed his head in appreciation, stepping forward as the hot air suddenly began plummeting down in temperature. He hadn't been sure whether she had actually paid any heed to his request, but it seemed that, given she didn't have a clear advantage, she was willing to allow him the pokemon for which he did. N ot too surprisingly, Totodile and Daeva weren't the only two getting, or finding, opponents. With Meebus now nearby to chaperone, Stranny had managed to dig up someone to fight as well, quite literally shoveling sand aside until he located the Sandile. The pokemon stared up at him, then snapped, but he quickly leaped back, grinning, and unleashing a water attack. Although his blows weren't as powerful as some of his teammates (at least not yet), he still managed to confuse the pokemon, and, as it climbed out, it hurt itself in its confusion, leaving Stranny to quickly finish it off with another water attack. It seemed that, even with the competition of Zak's other pokemon out and about, he would still be able to get some training in, and take full advantage of the lucky egg he had. A nd meanwhile Daeva was fulfilling Deys' request (or perhaps the desert itself was), by letting him take on the next pokemon. While he conjured up a blizzard to defeat the Maractus, Daeva seemed to survey the area. She watched as some of her teammates battled other pokemon, then turned her gaze back in the direction Zak was at. She knew he had that little ghost thing with him, but it wasn't much protection. Surely the others had it in mind too, but she wanted to make sure none of the wild pokemon nearby, nor any tricky trainers, tried to sneak up on their person. C learly enjoying himself, Stranny hopped around, battling pokemon and kicking up sand. He blinked as he encountered what seemed to be an evolved form of the little puff balls he'd been knocking around earlier. Actually... he was pretty sure he'd fought something like this, previously! He beamed, immediately blasting it with water. Once again, it was enough to confuse the pokemon, and it hurt itself instead of attacking, leaving Stranny to quickly knock it out. He seemed pretty happy with himself... and honestly, he had a right to be. He'd come in late, and caught up fast, when it came to the rest of the team. And he was doing a darn good job of standing his ground even when he wasn't able to pull off the same one-hit K.O.'s the others were doing. Darmanitan [1 roll] Darmanitan became confused! S peaking of those one hit K.O.s..... Daeva's tail thrashed victoriously behind her as she grinned. The Sigilyph she had, once again, destroyed, fled hurriedly over the sand, nearly falling a few times. Deys closed his eyes, then opened them, turning to survey the great desert that stretched out around them. Several of their teammates had disappeared behind mounds of sand. If he were the type to be concerned, it might have worried him, but he wasn't. If they were in danger they'd find them, or they would die, or they'd learn to flee. He turned back to Daeva. Still, though... He was fairly sure that Zak had instructed them to not get lost. And to make sure nothing went wrong. And... He looked down at the bag held between his flippers. To use potions. Which only he had. Hmm... He lifted his head back up, then turned, moving towards one of the nearby mounds. Daeva turned, the curled corner of her mouth lowering in a slight frown as she watched him. T otodile was still hunting for opponents-- and apparently he was starting to get frustrated he hadn't found as many as he wanted. Sotnik watched warily, occasionally using an Aqua Tail to splash water on himself and keep hydrated. The heat was killer... and the sand made him feel as though he were a piece of asparagus on the grill. He shifted to lay down on his side, starring dully after the gator as it furiously dug at the sand, but lifted his head when he caught a flash of movement. He turned his head, narrowing his eyes as he spotted a pokemon darting across the sand, its eyes narrowed on Totodile. Acting on pure instinct, Sotnik whipped himself up and shot over, rising up to tower over the pokemon and bring it to an abrupt stop. And then, in a flash of rapid movement-- take it down. He blinked and dropped back to coil his body around, staring at the unconscious pokemon. Totodile came over, snapping angrily over the lost battle opportunity, but Sotnik wasn't listening. S otnik was clearly having a moment. He was staring, and staring, and Totodile was getting more and more annoyed. A little ways away, Stranny was taking out another Darmanitan, and looked up, noticing the two. Meebus came over to float nearby, gazing at the duo from the corner of his eye. The frogadier looked up, but then seemed to notice the breeze coming from his teammate, and quickly hopped to stand in front of him, jumping up and down to enjoy the gust of wind. Meebus, however, continued watching as Totodile finally got fed up, moving and biting down hard on the starter's tail. The electric pokemon's eyes actually seemed to widen, briefly and he levitated about two inches to the side just as Totodile was flung hard in their direction, knocking into Stranny and sending both water pokemon tumbling. Sotnik didn't even look over-- he was already headed in his trainer's direction. Darmanitan [1 roll] Darmanitan became confused! Darminatan hurt himself in confusion!
