Character Name: Shazam BOOM!
Player: Sandlot Bambino
Species: HALF-BREED!! Half-orc/half-elf...he just couldn't decide.
Class: WIZARD!!!
Appearance: Sandlot Bambino is all pumped up and ready to show off his talents as an all-powerful wizard. He wears a coat far too big for him that he nabbed from the closet and by the size of the stuffed pockets he's crammed a lot of mystery goodies in there. If that weren't enough he's tied one of his mother's sparkling dresses around his neck as a mystifying cape. Hanging at his side in a bag he carries one of his brother's books. It has been covered in paper with the word 'MAGIC' messily written in crayon. In his teeth he is drooling over a piece of wood...er..his shimmering staff. And to top off his haphazard outfit he wears an oversized baseball cap with paper stars stuck on it. He looks so.RADICALLY.AWESOME.

Day 1: The morning is misty and cold, tendrils of fog snaking their way under your hooves and making you even more uncomfortable and nervous than you already were. You glance sideways at the others about; you clearly all were here to respond to the challenge, and you all clearly knew that only one person was walking out of here with the treasure. “Come at dawn to the Door in the North,” you’d been told- and so here you were. The Door in the North was, much to everyone’s initial surprise, a red door set into the hillside. It was an access point to the Underlands, the dark, lamp-lit realms of those who shunned the sunlight. The Underlands were known to be incredibly dangerous, filled with caverns so deep and twisted not even the dwarves knew where they went. You shudder a little bit at the thought of exploring these deep roads, but something compels you. Greed? Curiosity? You’re clearly here for a reason. (You are standing in the middle of the park. It’s dark and you’re wearing a homemade costume.)

Footsteps in the distance, sharp hooves on slate and stone. She seems to materialize out of the mist. The mare from the tavern last night- well, one of them at any rate. The barbarian seems comfortable as can be in the dreadful weather, her mane tucked into a fur-lined helm. An axe hangs at her hip, its blade lethal. She’s smiling, as if she knows something you don’t. She doesn’t say anything to you but wrenches the door open- it’s heavier than it looks. Peering into the darkness behind it, you see a tiny puddle of light in the distance. Her sister.

This mare is dark as night. Her hair is tossed in wild waves as if she is fresh from battle. She is clearly a Sorcerer, a wielder of dark arts, and someone not to be trifled with. You get a distinct feeling that she harbors malice toward you, although you're not sure why.

The magic-wielding mare who isn’t your barbarian guide snarls at you. “This way, meat,” she growls, leading you in a single-file line down into the depths of the earth. Her lantern bobs on its stick, and those in the back of the line find themselves stumbling every now and again. You look behind you to see a last glimpse of the sun. For a moment, the barbarian is silhouetted against the bleak sky, then with a horrible shriek, the door slams shut on its hinges. You couldn’t tell if she pushed it shut or pulled it shut- was she following you? What did she know?

It’s surprisingly warm in the underground cavern to which you are led. Geothermal heat, maybe. You’re not really sure. There’s some light in here- not the smoky, guttering candles you expected, but a soft blue light emitted by glowing rocks. You poke at one and the light scatters. Not rocks- animals. Amazing.

The barbarian slips in behind you- so she did follow you in, and begins passing out small lanterns filled with the glowing creatures. One for each of you. “These are tall the help you’re going to get. Be good to them, and they’ll be good to you- but if you drop them, then it’s the darkness for you.”

Not including the door you entered, there are four doors out of the chamber. Which do you choose?
A. The door to the north.
B. The door to the south.
C. The door to the east.
D. The door to the west.

Character Name: Friar F(r)ight, he pronounces it differently each time.
Player: Fireflight
Species: a human-Phony - waaaaiiiiit
Class: Paladin, a Phony of the Phony-gods.
Appearance: Friar F(r)ight is clad heroically in a potato sack, held up by his Phony form and a rope across his stomach. Metal bowls are placed on his Phony shoulders for the paladinous look, and strapped like a horrible saddle are a meat hammer, a spatula, a large spoon, a whisk and a probably-unlawful fruit knife.

A. The door to the north
Friar F(r)ight was a simple Phony, and it made sense to go north. Also, going west was an ungodly Pet Shop Boys song.

Character Name: Tierldir
Player: Ava Adore
Species: Unicorn (look guys I'm sorry she just can't be arsed)
Class: If goddess doesn't count, some indeterminate magic-user
Appearance: Adore is minimally decked out in some flowy, gauzy toga-style robe. She so cannot be arsed that she's not even walking, just sort of floating along via either unicorn magic or one of those fancy gadgets the Merphonies use, high enough that both her robes and hair are clear of the ground. She is darkly wondering whether the Phonyland Admin missive for her to be here is actually legit, or if she should check whether Quill really signs his name like that (sharp look to left at Fireflight).

B. The door to the south.
Firefli - Friar F(r)ight looked headed north, and she was currently invested in getting as far away from him as possible after all the creepy comments he'd made about this being sort of like a date with knives.

C. To the east

Reaper was feeling quite... Well, he certainly didn't look terrifying standing amongst all the phony who were also in homemade costumes. Overall this all seemed kind of silly, but he was quite determined to take home the prize. He cleared his throat, trying to at least make it seem like he was in character.

Smashy Smashington certainly wouldn't care about any stupid barbarians or the dark. Smashy went where he wanted when he wanted and he quickly wandered his way over to a door with not a care in the world as to where it led, but with a whole lot of grunting.

A. To the North

Shakuhachi turned his great scaled body to the north and followed silently after the willful Paladin, giant maw holding the given light with the utmost delicacy. (Zen clamored after the potato-sack wearing Phony, practically bouncing around his hooves in true babben fashion.)

Zen was just a little thing, but he understood that meeting at the Door to the North meant...you had to go North. Why would you go North and then another direction? Why not just meet at the other direction if that was the destination? These were the reasonings of a small babben (and a full grown Phony, ahem, Fireflight) and he was sticking with it.

D. The door to the west.

All those stories and songs about going into the west made Vermithirod's decision for him. He had no real preference nor anything to go one, so why should he bother about worrying which direction was best? Everyone else - including an irked-looking mare, that overblown carousel pegasus, the bright yellow paladin pegasus, and the little colt following after him - seemed to be headed in other directions.

Might as well pick a different one. It wasn't as if the wealthy-looking wizard particularly desired the company of any of them, anyway. So, carrying his strange, creature-filled lantern in his mouth, west he went.

D. The door to the west

Gashnakh the great orc barbarian lumbered after the group and had to duck as they entered through the red door. Being underground hardly made any difference to her and in fact, the warmth of the place felt welcoming and a lot better than being in cold, dark park world.

"Gashnakh smash," she warned the funny lantern, giving it a little shake of warning, making sure it knew to behave itself.

The orc looked at each of her puny companions in turn and then lumbered after one of them with a loud, "Gashnakh follow little man!"

(Shrill X hurried after Hard Truths. "Is that even a costume?” She whispered loudly, grinning from ear to ear. "I think you’re at the wrong party.")

Dryssian the half-elf-pony watched the group start to wander off, set his lantern to float about his head with a small enchantment, and wondered which way to go. A wizard had gone to the West, and another magic user had gone South, so those directions were right out - wizards and sorcerers tended to fight like cats and dogs, and Dryssian wasn't going to waste time on that nonsense if he could help it. That left North and East.

(Bumble Thunder waffled over whether or not to follow Reaper and make sure that jackass didn't actually hurt anyone, but decided that it might be better to do like Dryssian and avoid any time-wasting altercations that she could. She was here to have fun, damnit. She -)

- adjusted his robe slightly to compensate for the temperature of the room, and decided to head North. That was a group that looked like they could use a little magical assistance...

(to a point, she reminded herself silently. Only one would win.)

A: Door to the north.

Nyekkanyaa pressed quickly into the caves, watching the animals as they scurried. Surprised that her druidic nature with animals didn't seem to sway them over, she peered at the trapped creature in her lamp. Frowning, she aimed to be as gentle as she could with it as she swung it around to light each door in turn. "Forgive me little one, but you are of most help. Nature guide you." she breathed, sucking in a deep breath and stopping on the most northern door. Once making up her mind, she pressed forward, hoof and ear on the door to listen to what may possibly lay on the other side before venturing forth with the other two that had chosen the north door. Another her size! At least she wouldn't be the smallest druid around.

(Frag tried quite desperately to catch the glance of her auntie or even who she assumed was TPK up front to give her some kind of hidden signal of which way wouldn't get her kicked out right away, but neither mare gave her any indication. Grrr fine...)

Serene lifted her lamp slowly and gently with soft golden magic so the little creature inside was not jostled or frightened by the sudden movement of being swept into the air. Considering each way to go, she spied the beautiful magician who was floating by herself to the south. Since she too was a beautiful worker of magic, she decided to go this way as well.

(Frag cast a look backwards one more time for any hints before following Ava, dragging the designer gown across the cold grass and dirt)

B. The door to the south.

C. The door to the east.

Peanut watched as the phonies slowly dispersed and formed smaller groups of their own. Perfect he thought, as nophony had yet walked through the door toward the east. Just as he was about to claim that path as his own, some decked out stallion wearing a viking-like helmet walked past him and grunted his way through. What was his problem?!

"UGHHH," he cried out loud, frustrated. So much for exploring on his own.

Woody took the lantern with the glowy creatures inside, nodded at the barbarian, and dashed through the entrance chasing after whoever it was that stole his door. It was not like it had his name written on it or something. All doors were 'free for all's after-all.

As he ran, his robe fluttered in the air, making him look like a brown floaty ghost with a big butt. His homemade dragon tail blended in with the darkness.

A. The door to the north

Silver kept her robe hood down as she started toward the door. Her companions looks like they know the way but who can tell with the darkness. She smiled fiercely, waiting for battle and tribute for The Goddess.

(obi followed on the monthly crew of phonies to the north door. She only hoped that TACO was not behind the door with his guitar...she had to drink a potion of camaflauge to disappear.)

C. The door to the east!

(Mech was actually pretty shitty at this role-playing thing, and it took him a bit to figure out how Tau'd decide. There wasn't any indication as to which side was right, so the natural starting point was...)

"Zero degrees is east," Tau the Superior declared. "This is naturally the only acceptable starting point."

(He walked quite mechanically, which made him the slowest of the group traveling in that direction. But hey! At least Mech got to be a robot. Take that, suckers.)

B. Door to the South

Thínor stood terribly still for a long moment, with his lamp at his hooves lighting his face at odd angles, he watched them make their decisions with a small smirk.

(Tinker had to keep his body as rigid as possible just to keep his over excitement from bleeding(but for a small smile
) or risk breaking character and being just loud energetic colt. With a deep breath he finally felt he could keep Thínor Thilden in place)

Finally the rogue seem to shake away a far away doubt and picked up his lamp, following after a few magicians, one he hoped would be a healer. He had a good hunch it would be a journey full of hardships.
