Alpinely was looking around all the open booths with enthusiastic interest and while losing track of the minutes she had so far been standing sparkly and wide-eyed at this booth quietly in observation, she found herself offered a pin that she received with a broadening smile. She eyed the jar of jellybeans curiously next and upon being given instructions about how the game works, she decidedly submitted a guess of her own.
Beans! Beans! Beans! Beans!!

Why this number? Her logic is that it looks like inverted spooky triple sixes so instead she chose triple sevens since it is thus also spooky.

Most of the booths seemed to want others to come, they were made to appeal to the sights and sounds that creeple desired. This booth seemed to be put together by someone who just felt they HAD to do it. Still, the kitsune had to look. He was here visiting and if he didn't he would always wonder what had been there.
Shiki walked up and listened to the long suffering explanation and overall order to just guess and get lost. Guess the jellybeans in the jar.
He leaned over and peered at the jar trying to come up with a fitting number all the while feeling like he was in the way and that Harrow wanted him long gone. Finally near tears from the pressure he blurted out a number and backed away trembling.
Beans! Beans! Beans! Beans!!

Why this number? Shiki just chose a number to get away so he wouldn't keep being stared at like he was making Harrow mad.

Wait didn't he know this kid? Yes Andrew knew this kid. "Harrow, if you don't want to do it, don't set up the booth." he rolled his eyes, what a ridiculous first year. Still secretary is not a bad choice for the kid, considering all he could to was pencil push. Andrew wouldn't be caught dead running for a position he didn't want. what if this slacker won? He shook his head trying to think about that. It had bad idea written all over it. "Blondie!" he waved the ghoul over. "Come look at this guy, he doesn't want to do it but he's running to vote anyway.

Ruth had been quietly scoping out Harrow's booth, trying to keep herself in the background whilst inspecting the buttons, decors, and the jar of jellybeans. She wasn't planning on approaching, especially when she realized her fiery boss-figure was in her general vicinity. But she didn't get the chance to fade away to the other booths before Andrew called her over.
Obediently, because that was how she'd presented herself and acted around the fire demon, she went over to him. Her expression was a careful blank on her approach but when she got to Andrew's side she canted her head in confusion. She drew a question mark in the air, though whether it was directed at Harrow or Andrew was open for interpretation.

"Yeah I know, isn't that weird? What are you doing over there? Are you trying to hide? I bet no one could pay you to run a booth." there was a side glance to Harrow, with a simple statement. "She's shy, almost as shy as you."
Andrew wrapped a wing around the ghoul, blocking off any hope of escape. "Aren't you going around so you can vote? Do the Boil a favor and play his little game. Besides you might get something out of it."
Andrew took a paper and started to fill things out. They weren't allowed to count but the boil eyed the jar heavily.
"It looks pretty full to me. It sucks that the candy isn't the prize." His number was high but not full. Maybe his stomach was telling him what the answer was.
Andrew turned and made sure Ruth wrote down a number. He was staring expectantly.
Beans! Beans! Beans! Beans!!

Ruth shuffled her feet as she remained in place. Even without Andrew's wing "blocking her escape," she wouldn't have tried to leave. Not willingly in any case. However, she had to make some show of protest, for the sake of the public eye. The blonde tried to shrug the wing off, not hard enough to actually do anything but the movement was the point.
She brought out some of the buttons she'd taken from the other booths and held them for Andrew to inspect. She hadn't worn any of them, which was why their color remained. While Andrew was busy making his guess, Ruth gave Harrow a small smile and plucked one of the buttons indicating his candidacy.
Her arm made a small arc, as if gesturing to Harrow's booth, and gave him a thumb's up. Whether it meant she would vote for Harrow or she approved of his booth's decor she wouldn't say. Without missing a beat, or facing Andrew, Ruth jotted down her own guess and nodded meekly when she was finished.

A well dressed candidate with a fantastic campaign slogan - Don't vote for me. Gabby had reached the booth just in time to read that, and helplessly let out a chuckle. "That's a good reason to be running one of these." He commented, lips still quirking with amusement. "Better than because I was bored, at least." The boils name was written over the booth, and Gabby read it to himself before nodding a very sharp nod of greeting. "I'm Gabriel. Running for treasurer. Because I was bored."

Sucre was hesitant to approach the booth, but the jellybeans, they were singing her name. The boil manning it seemed unhappy and bored. Sucre eyed the jellybeans before taking the offered pin. She gave him a confused look, her goo sagging a bit. This was a lot of trouble to get your parents off your back, but if it worked. "What if your Father gets upset that you don't win?" She asked, genuinely curious. That would bug her, the whole thing just nipping you in the butt later.

Bartholomew walked up to another booth- intending to check them all out before voting began despite being unable to vote. He was a bit amused with this one. Although, from first impressions, if he could vote, Bart was unlikely to vote for this boil. It wasn't like there was anything wrong with how he or his booth looked, but the fact that the boil didn't want to be voted for, made the decision rather obvious for Bart. Still, Bart figured he should make small talk. Giving a laugh at the boil's comment about his father Bart said, "That sounds like something my father would do as well! Did he make you enroll to?" He asked, a polite smile on his face. Bart didn't appear enthusiastic, but not completely bored either. I am Bartholomew by the way. Bartholomew Blackhorn." He added, giving the boil a polite bow before waiting for his reply. He also went ahead and took a guess at the game, but the conversation was much more important to him. Beans! Beans! Beans! Beans!! The mocking duo was easy to deal with: After his initial explanation, he watched them in a tired sort of way, head on his hand. The teasing, at least, didn't much bother Harrow. He was used to that. But as the girl gave him the thumbs up he cringed just a little. Hopefully it didn't mean she was going to vote for him. Slowly, his eyes settled onto Gabby instead, and he straightened out of his slump with a quiet sound. Maybe that was amusement -- but if it was, it just stopped there. He didn't smile at the joke, just shrugged a little. Harrow certainly wasn't bored: not with his notebook tucked out of sight under the booth. When it quieted down a bit, he'd pull it out again. "Do you have a button?" He paused, pointed up. "Feel free to pin it on. As for the girl -- Harrow only acknowledged her briefly, licking his lips and considering just what to say in reply. "He's upset about everything all the time. At least right now he can't say I didn't try." Sure he could. Harrow didn't try very hard after all. He fidgeted where he sat. "...I'm more worried about what'll happen if, by some miracle, I win."

"Um. Yes." Harrow was succinct, at least, shifting just a little where he sat -- one shoulder hiked in an uncomfortable shrug. He wouldn't be here, after all, if it had been up to him.

On her way to Merry's brightly-colored booth Catinka found herself drifting towards Harrow's. She'd meant to come by for the teddy bears, and found herself slightly forlorn that between one thing (Lurks) and another (Lurks) she'd forgotten. She probably would have forgotten anyway, Catinka being Catinka.
Politely examining the booth's setup, she finally and solemnly registered her guess for the jellybean jar.
"If I wear your button," she asked him solemnly, "do you think it might make people vote for you? I can cross your name out. Or write don't over the top."

Why this number? Mathematical: number halfway between 500 and 1000 stands a good shot of being close in either direction. I don't know, blue, she's a cat I mean lamb.

That was a good enough answer for Sucre, but it could still turn out bad if he actually won. That would probably be really really funny. What could only be described as a wicked grin spread across her face. She quickly found her attention back on the candy. The boil explained the game and Sucre was just a little sad she didn't get to eat them....
She thought about her guess, staring intently at the jellybeans. She hoped there was a lot in there.

Another break, another set of booths. This one was plain but certainly more than functional. After all, what did you need to run for office besides some campaign giveaways and a cheerful... attitude...
Oh. This Harrow boil was frowning quite impressively. And it seemed he was only here because of his father. That was unfortunate. While Rojo had been exposed to plenty of societal pressure growing up as a genderless skeleton born to a proper female catrina, he had never been forced into positions of power that he hadn't already wanted for himself. That seemed terribly counterproductive.
"Don't worry," he said, voice low. "If you do not wish to be a secretary, you have my support. Or you don't. Whichever means that I will not vote for you unless you change your mind. Good luck."
The calaca took a button and slipped it into his pocket, meandering away from the dead center of the booth to the container of jellybeans at its edge. Jellybeans were some of his favorite candies, but the ones in this jar apparently weren't for eating. He was meant to guess how many beans there were. Too bad he had no idea how he was going to accomplish that.
Luckily, Rojo's cluelessness was no deterrent to his enthusiasm. He bent over to examine the beans, first with his hands clasped behind his back, and soon with both of them clinking against the glass as he tilted it to one side and peered at the jar's base. He didn't count anything, as he had been instructed not to, but he did stare at the candies for a very, very long time.
"Nine hundred and ninety four," he eventually declared. "That is my guess."
Beans! Beans! Beans! Beans!!
