Jack cursed herself. This was why she liked training with her Officers more frequently. If she didn’t she lost track of things like their skill with Kidō. Jack fell backwards of the hawk to avoid the three bullets. It didn’t quit work as she wound up with burn from where the bullets flew past her. They were on her torso and face. Jack wasn’t worried about scarring; they had done something to her so she didn’t scar. Jack hated the permanent remind that she just couldn’t escape.

Jack landed on her empty hand and, flipped back up to consider the boy flying above her. His little hawk allowed him to move around while remaining stationary but, that Kidō wouldn’t last long. Then Jack smirked. He may have been still but, Jinsin wasn’t used to staying in one place just waiting for the perfect shot. That was her forte

Jack activated her own Kidō, “Bakudo number 26, Kyokko!”

It wasn’t long before Jack had disappeared from every sense including a spiritual sense. Jinsin wouldn’t be able to find her. Jack didn’t risk using Shunpo to flash to the roof. Instead she took her time and, circled the building. Jack slipped her bow between her teeth so she could scale the building. Once she was on the roof Jack slipped so one knee was against the roof and the other was bent. Jack removed her bow from her teeth and, moved to aim it at Jinsin. The bowstring was taunt against her left ear. Jack could wait however long she needed to for that pesky Kidō to fail. Then her arrow would fly.

A small, juvenile Hell Butterfly fluttered into view of both combatants. It would be one of the new Jigokuchou that had only just been brought to Seireitei after the mysterious death of their predecessors. Inexperienced, it remained a good distance away from the fighters, as though unsure how to proceed. Get to close and it may suffer damage, remain too far and it would not be able to transmit its message.

In the end, it settled with flying right between the two fighters so as to make sure both of them know of its presence and released its message:

Quote:
Central 46 requests the immediate presence of Captain Yamamoto Nanashi and Captain Jack Mallory.

As if on cue, two dozens of Shinigami walked into view. Though they remained polite and courteous in their demeanor, they were carrying their zanpakuto. An experienced eye would also notice a few more presence outside of the dojo. These remained out of sight, but had purposefully let their presence be known. "Captain Mallory," one of the Shinigami would say. "We have been tasked with escorting you to the Central 46 Assembly Hall."

Jack looked at the men that surround her as she let her Kidō fall. There was no reason to keep it going. She was slightly curious. This was not yet another complaint about her sexual promiscuity. She had never been called in to Central 46 for that before. So whatever it was it was serious.

Jack asked the men, “I suppose you want my Zanpakutō then.”

At the man’s nod Jack hesitated. She wasn’t sure she wanted to give anyone Chimamire no Yuki. She wasn’t unduly worried. Chimamire no Yuki had found her the first time. If push came to shove Chimamire no Yuki could find her again. With a flick of her hand Jack resealed her Zanpakutō. She sheathed it before undoing the sheath and, handing it to the man.

Jack turned to Jinsin, “Keep an eye on the division. No one else needs to leave until I get back.”

Then Jack followed the men to Central 46. She tried to be serious. She kept looking at that man that had Chimamire no Yuki. She didn’t want to lose her.

A faint voice entered her head, “Peace Jack. I promised that once I found you I would never loss you.”

Jack was instantly reassured. No matter how things in their meeting went everything would be okay. She and Chimamire no Yuki were a team. Nothing would break them apart.

Jinsin was just about to make his next move when a familiar butterfly made it's presence known. He heard it's call for Jack and he knew the fight was over. Done he came from the sky and away he summoned the hawk. He also ended his shikai putting his blade away. Soon men appeared. He knew what would happen next and he hated to see his captain skirted away like that. But he knew his place and he knew she'd be fine. Her final words before departing where to Jinsin himself. She ordered him to keep everyone within the 3rd from leaving. Jinsin nodded and once they had carried her away he departed to Division Three's Baracks.

Jack Mallory made it to the training ground before Jinsin Octus did. She was not surprised. As a Captain her Shunpo tended to be faster than the Shunpos of her Officers. Jack knew hers wasn’t the fastest but, it wasn’t something to scoff at either. Jack landed on the ground. There was no point in landing on a roof. This was close-combat training; not long-distance dancing. Maybe if they were lucky they would actually get something done this time without interruptions. Jack could only hope. If there were interruptions Jack suspected that she would slice it to ribbons. Jack grinned. That was percisly what she planed to do with Jinsin. She didn’t plan on killing him but, she had to admit that she was slightly sadistic when it came to battle. She liked to see blood.

Jack told her Third Seat, “As always you get the first move Dearheart.”

Yes Jack was flirting and would probably continue to flirt throughout the battle. She didn’t expect anything to come of it. She just flirted to stay in practice. If Jinsin suddenly changed his mind and, decided that he wanted to sleep with Jack that would be a different story all together. Jack drew her Zanpakto but, didn’t release it. She had forbidden Jinsin from using his Shi Kai so she would play fair; just this once.

A slight breeze flowed through Mai's hair as she made her way to the training grounds of Division Three. Though the weather was fair, the situation was rather grim, on accountability of her visit to Jack. She stepped inside to find a vast area for practitioners to hone their skills and nodded, impressed. There, she found Jack. Mai was hoping for the clarity and the like on the case at hand.

"Quite the place you have here," she started warmly. "I brought you these, I hope they didn't treat you too badly in there, hm?"

Mai handed a small box to Jack, packed in brown paper and tied up with drawstring. Inside were Japanese pastries, assorted mochi and other sweets.

She immediately chuckled upon offering the gift, it seemed unlikely to give someone sweets in a training dojo that promoted fitness and activity. She looked at Jack in hopes for her acceptance. Although they didn't know each other too long, Mai had felt it be best to look into the matter of what was going on.

"I'd like to hear... your story."

"A TRUE WARRIOR IS CALCULATING AND STRIKES WHEN IT'S NEEDED. BUT A TRUE MAN NEVER GOES DOWN FROM A BATTLE."

Jinsin arrived shortly behind his captain. He was always amazed at the speed of a captain's shunpo, but this time he was not only interested in it he also feared it a bit. This was close quarters combat and a shunpo as face as hers cold prove dangerous. So he started planing ahead what he'd do as he touched down.

As always she had been gracious enough to give him the first move. A smile spread Jinsin's face as he prepared to draw his blade and attack, he already had his first move planned out, something he'd once seen a captain do in battle, but his before he could even draw his blade the fight was once again interrupted by an outsider. He gritted his teeth as the captain touched down, usually a patient man all the intrusions were starting to take a toll on his calm demeanor. Alas though it was a captain and he knew his place so while his face showed his displeasure with her arrival in the middle of their battle his mouth kept quite. He took his hand from his hilt and instead crossed his arms allowing for the two to finish their business.

Jack looked at Captain Kimura with an impassive face before breaking out into a huge grin. Just because she was slightly annoyed that once again her training with Jinsin had been interrupted was no reason to be rude. Jack danced over to her fellow Captain to accept the box of treats.

Jack waved off Mai’s concerns, “It’s not a problem my gorgeous Mai! Gifts must be accepted when they are offered or they are accepted ungraciously.” Then Jack reached out one of her hands to gently caress a lock of Mai’s beautiful hair, “Now what story could I possibly tell that would interest a beauty like you?”

Jack knew exactly what story Mai wanted to hear. However Jack didn’t know the Captain of Division Eight as well as she would like to. The Archer of Death didn’t know if she could be trusted or not. As such Jack would have Mai ask for it before Jack started talking. That was simply the way it would be. Jack did toss a look at Jinsin and, raised an eyebrow. His opponent was distracted. In close quarters combat now would be the perfect time to attack. Then Jack turned her attention back to the woman she was subconsciously trying to seduce.

As Jack took away the box in an accepting fashion, she could detect the slight nuisance she was being for having interrupting the battle between herself and the other man, Jinsin. She looked over apologetically at him, and felt a tug on her hair.

As Mai looked back at Jack, she smiled again and laughed a bit nervously. She didn't think Jack was so forward, especially on their first meeting but she also didn't mind it. "I'm flattered," said Mai, smiling genuinely. "I know we haven't much information on each other. But I act on fairness, not on assumptions."

Mai's eyes followed Jack's as she looked over at the other Shinigami, and again as she looked back into hers. "It's my job to follow orders... Central 46 just ordered all captains and their assistants to pursue Yamamoto... But I suppose I'll take my time, until I find purpose to actually carry out the order. Treason is a hard case to justify without correct facts. I would just like to hear your honest perspective of what occurred that night. Won't you grant me that wish?" she said in sultry voice. Two could play that game, and Mai wasn't half bad.

As the captain spoke more Jinsin began feeling bad. She was wondering a lot of the same things he had. Besides he doubted she meant to interrupt his battle, but there were more important matters. So with that Jinsin stepped in slightly closer. He didn't know how the other captain would feel about it but Jinsin knew after all that Jack had spilled to him before in her office she knew he was to be trusted and wouldn't mind him coming in a little bit to hear. Without a word he listened on to Jack as she began to answer the woman. He was curious, would she tell the women what she had told him, or would she twist the story. Afterall she only trusted Jinsin because of their history and his show of loyalty, others however...

The ground rumbled slightly as the two Captains continued to talk. Before long, the rumbling became louder and louder as massive number of footsteps could be heard outside the training grounds. Suddenly, a full dozen members of Squad 10 entered the training grounds and fully encircled one side of the grounds, taking up a well organized and placed formation before standing in a readied position. As swiftly as the noise started, it now turned to pure silence. Not a single word was uttered nor a single movement made. Before long, a new sound broke the silence. The long echoing, sound of a *click-clack* over and over appeared softly at first before becoming that much louder as a new figure approached.

"Yes... won't you too, grant me that wish..."

A voice echoed into the grounds before it had revealed itself. The figure made his way through the division members before finally stopping in front of all of them, his wooden sandals the source of the *click-clack* noise from before. His Captain's haori draped over his shoulders as he leaned forward slightly on a long slender black cane, his other hand gently resting on his zanpakuto's hilt. He looked dead straight towards Captain Jack with all the seriousness that his title of Captain of the Investigations Squad instilled. Jubaku had officially began his inquisition.

"Captain Jack Mallory, we need to talk."

While it had taken one complete week for her to receive an official notice of approval about her request to join the Tenth Division as its Lieutenant, Iba Noriko could not even count five hours before she had received word to join her new Captain, Captain Hogosho Jubaku in the Third Division Training Grounds. It had been less than five minutes since that message had been delivered. Due to the extremely short notice of her approval and first call of duty, the young woman was had no choice other than to wear her accustomed choice of clothing from her days with the Covert Ops, a shinobi shōzoku. She had just pulled on the optional hood and mask when another Hell Butterfly appeared at her window, promptly releasing the message again that she were to meet with Captain Hogosho at the Training Grounds of the Third Division. At first, Noriko was more than prepared to flick the petite butterfly off the sill for disturbing her so soon, but the fact that two had been sent to her in under fifteen, Noriko could not deny that that spelled urgency in capital letters. With a wave of her hand, the insect left and the girl stood in her latest accommodations. During the past five hours, she had been busy moving her few yet necessary belongings to one of the rooms within the Tenth Division’s Barracks. Used to flat buildings from her past life and her time with the Covert Ops, it was weird for her to worry about hefting a trunk of personal belongings and a twin-sized bed with frame up two flights of stairs. Thankfully, she was able to get it done after accepting help reluctantly from some lower-seated officers. Presently, she slipped the wakizashi that she had received at graduation into one of the inside pockets of her customized jacket. Her hands smoothed over the metal-plated sleeves, the hard material on the inside of them. After that, it seemed that there would be no point in staying there any longer. With a final glance around the bare living arrangements, Noriko stepped onto the aforementioned windowsill and she jumped onto the nearest rooftop before dashing in the general direction of the Third Division.

Her mind began to travel the many paths that could lead to the need for her presence so soon after her appointment as the latest Tenth Division Lieutenant. She was aware of the latest troubles concerning the Hell Butterflies, but obviously that had been rectified in a timely manner. She pondered on the possibility of her Captain not wanting to damage his shiny, new grounds after hearing about her little accident in the Second Division Barracks. Noriko chuckled to herself in spite of the unknown situation. It was not a little accident. A thousand random craters covering such a small portion of Seireitei during the night was not a little accident. She could have injured someone terribly, even fatally. The lieutenant was not ready to forgive herself for such carelessness on her part as yet. That was the reason for her departure from the Covert Ops. She could not take any more chances of bringing harm to her beloved colleagues. However, she was also aware that she could not keep running around the Seireitei with a potential Zanpakuto and not know how to wield it efficiently. In her mind, a short chuckle was emitted, but Noriko dismissed it as she concentrated at the task at hand. She was already late by Covert Ops standards, and she was nowhere closer to realizing the reason to summon her at all. Suddenly, the small female dug her heel to halt her movements. It was beginning to dawn on her that her feet were carrying her to a place with which she was not too familiar.

‘Oh, what a time to be lost,’ fretted the lieutenant as she gauged her chances of rectifying this predicament on her own. Honestly, it seemed hopeless. With no other alternatives at the moment, Noriko jumped lightly off the roof and onto a nearby street. Uncharacteristically, she was searching for someone from whom she could receive some direction. It seemed like forever before a member of another division crossed paths with her. At first, the poor girl froze and reached unsteadily for her blade.

“Who, who are you?” the other female inquired, her voice sounding as sturdy as her shaken appearance.

Noriko could not help arching an eyebrow but then, it dawned on her that her hood and mask were covering most of her facial features except for her chocolate brown eyes. Immediately, the young woman pulled back both pieces of cloth to reveal her head in its entirety. “Iba Noriko, Tenth Division Lieutenant. I am trying to find the Training Grounds for the Third Division. Apparently, I have gotten myself lost along the way. Can you help me please?”

“Oh,” the unseated officer responded, “Two more blocks that way and you should see it as soon as you enter the gate. Actually, I just saw your Captain and several of his subordinates travel over there. It must be important.”

“Thanks for the warning,” Noriko clipped, shuffling her mask and hood back over her head. The words were meant to be of grateful tone with her mouth covered, she knew that it would be received more like a dismissal than her actual gratitude. She nodded at the girl and continued along the path that she marked out verbally. She wondered if this Captain was as strict as her last one. Being late in the Covert Ops meant that the overall effort was weakened and with such similar goals between the Second and Tenth Divisions, she could not see herself escaping a public scolding for her tardiness especially on her first day. As she entered the Third Division Grounds at last, Noriko maintained her stealth as she crossed the area to the Training area. Upon hearing most of the chatter coming from dojo, Noriko took her chances there first to find a horde of Tenth Division members packed into the formation of a circle. Similar to that other girl’s reaction, the circumference broke to allow her passage as the men and women mistook her for a member of the Executive Militia. It was satisfying to see that they were still respected and feared for that matter. Within seconds, she was at the heart of the circle. There were three Captains in attendance, but it was no headache to decipher which one Captain Hogosho was. Apart from the obvious Tenth Division insignia on the back of his haori, she had seen him around Seireitei. Like her, he was fairly new to his role.

“Iba Noriko, Tenth Division Lieutenant, reporting for duty, sir.” Noriko did what came easily and felt familiar. She knelt down on one knee on his right hand side, awaiting further instructions as well as her scolding about punctuality. Presently, it was exactly ten minutes since he had sent for her.

It was only a few minutes after his arrival that a young woman appeared behind him in an official operating manner. He only glanced behind himself with only the smallest of gazes not even allowing a the full width of his eye to turn to look at her. She was small, very small, but slightly imposing. Until her arrival she had no presence of body whatsoever, but as she appeared, her presence immediately turned to strikingly strong. Her Covert Force training truly showed through at the moment. He was frankly a little impressed to be honest, not that he was willing to show that expression in such an official moment of course. With more evidence to her previous training, she was still in her shōzoku. Well that certainly won't do. She may have been a member of Squad 2 previously, but she was now officially his Lieutenant and that meant some degree of a uniform change. He would speak about this to her later as he already had some ideas on the subject. But that was for later, he now had to deal with the matter at hand. He lifted his cane and brought it back down to the ground causing a loud, echoing *thump*. At this sound all of the other squad members rose and took up a standing position, but still on careful watch.

"Lieutenant Noriko... you are late. Did you bring the documents I requested?"

Instinctively, Noriko gritted her teeth out of her own personal shame as well as the humiliation associated with being called out on her lateness so frankly and so honestly in public. However, in spite of her stomach wanting to find homage on the outside of her body, the young lieutenant sucked it up. She had expected the announcement of her failings, but what threw her for a loop was her Captain’s request for some particular documents. Upon the strike of his cane against the solid floor, Noriko stood at once, trying not to faint under the weight of her nerves. The youthful female eyed the back of her Captain before showing her face for the second time that day since donning her uniform. She willed her stomach into a state of serenity as she opened her mouth to respond, eyes lowered.

“I know, sir. Please accept my humblest apologies for my tardiness. As for those documents, I did not receive word of your request for them. Please allow me to fetch them now if they are that important to the investigation.”

From her position, Noriko took the chance to examine the people in the room more closely from under her eyelids. The other two Captains were female and there was a young man there as well. She bit her bottom lip distractedly, trying to place them in her limited experience with members from other divisions. She got lost in the task for a moment, but she pulled herself together within seconds for fear of missing her Captain’s next order.

Jubaku only sighed, shaking his head a bit when she failed to produce the documents he wanted. Nevertheless, he regained focus as he leaned forward on his cane a bit more, his hand gripping the notched end of it tighter and tighter as he waited thinking not about his next move but his next several moves ahead from now. That was just how his brain operated. It never shut off, never slowed, always active to the point of pure insanity, but never regretting a single moment as it helped put all the world into perspective. Always trying to find new work to do is what set his mind at ease and helped to keep his dreaded enemy of boredom at bay. He took in a deep breath and calmed himself before going to address his Lieutenant once again.

"It doesn't matter. I've studied the documents well in advance and know them front to back. The documents I requested were for your sake, not mine."

Jubaku then put his hands together, connecting the long, open sleeves of his gi. After a few moments of what seemed to be absolutely no movement whatsoever, Jubaku spread his arms back out again, this time having produced a bundle of well organized papers with a massive uncountable number of bookmarks and what seemed to be heavily noted and drawn images and words through its pages with lines and connections strewn throughout. He slowly handed the bundle to Iba, as it was a massively detailed report on the events involving the Ex-Squad Six Captain, Nanashi Yamamoto, her apparent treason, her fleeing of the Seireitei with the help of Captain Jack Mallory, and all of Jubaku's notes on the case so far.

"Here. My personal copy. Read up on the details for the time being and become well acquainted with the case file. I expect you to know it forwards and backwards."
