He had smiled a bit when his torso was petted on the job that he did with the blades on it. He believed he did a good job, they both did as the Rakshasa saw the progress of their sled. The rope then put on as he looked at the sled; tilting his head to one side as well in seeing it. "Looks right . . ." Truth to be told, he never seen a sled before so he thought that it looks pretty good.
With paint being the last thing they need, San went out to grab the paints. Seeing the array of paint, he was undecided in what to pick and so he decided to grab as many he can hold and also paint brushes to be brought over to Tavi. ". . . which color?" The paint were slowly brought down so he can see. It doesn't matter what color it looked for all he cares is that it's functional.

Having stood aside to listen quietly to the professor's instructions, Catinka only took about two seconds to decide that plastic was the way to go. Given her usual experiences requiring hand-eye coordination--to say nothing of the fact that she only had one to work with, in the case of the hand--it seemed advisable to take the simplest route.
Anyway, there was a purple one. She beamed to herself as she selected it and affixed the handles, and then meticulously began arranging a series of bell stickers across its surface in a pleasing pattern.
This was right up her alley. If Catinka had ended up in Hogwarts instead of Amity, she'd be in the Hufflepuff dorms gluing macaroni into smiling faces onto paper plates.
Gene pretended to be enthralled with the Christmas man's stories, nodding every so often and drinking a twenty-four ounce snot chocolate latte in in between the nods and the faked smiles. Oh yes, yetis! Snowball fights! Things!
In all honesty, she was only here for the necessary hours to graduate, even if it meant building sleds and listening to this man ramble on and on.
Finally, they were given the time to make a sled. The Doppelganger decided on a wooden sled, wanting to actually do something rather than dawdle around with some stickers.
Taking sandpaper in hand, she slowly and carefully smoother the wood down inch by inch, taking her time and doing her best to get every little nook and cranny, just like she'd seen Mot do.

And now here comes what possibly could be the worst thing about the sled. Namely the color. Ruth got the distinct feeling that her sense of aesthetics was in no way similar to that of the professor's. Or in line with the ideas of the Land of JOY. But if she wasn't going to be able to use a snake minipet for the handle, or any other cord-like minipet, then she was at least going to keep this as Halloween-themed as she could!
The choices seemed limited, but this was the mark of resourcefulness! And maybe color theory because Ruth set about to mixing and adding colors until they were, ah, dark enough to her liking. What could she do? Ruth favored muted, subdued hues rather than the bright, overly festive ones these teachers favored. Thankfully, she wasn't required to make the sled glitter.
Sophie entered the little house after poking her head gingerly in the doorway. When she was sure she wasn't the only one who would be in the class, she entered and took a seat, listening carefully to the instructions. She realised that, perhaps, this might have been a good class to do with friends who would be able to help her.
Still, she decided to try with a wooden sled because it seemed to be the prettiest and it meant she could paint it whatever colour she wanted. The wood was rough and Sophie picked up the sandpaper and began to sand it as best she could. She thought she was done but when she ran her hands over the wood, a few splinters pricked her fingers so she tried again.

When the blonde reaper finally finished painting and everything had dried, something she had to find out through trial and error as the numerous finger-sized retouches could attest, she turned to their professor to present her work. It was more to direct his attention than anything, and now came the horrible realization that she actually had to test drive the sled.
Seeing as she'd never ridden one before, and that she was going to be on a one-ghoul journey, Ruth frowned that she didn't even have the consolation of taking someone down with her. Well, she had no one to blame but herself.

I have a WOODEN SLED I rolled 5 Evens and 4 Odds while putting the blades on it I rolled Even on the rope handle! I have 1 people riding!
Next, Gene attached the blades to the base with great care and attention to detail, using ginger hands and a tender touch, but ended up making a few slips. She laughed to keep herself from getting embarrassed, tucking some hair behind her ear as she continued to work at it.
She spent a good twenty minutes sanding the sled, trying to get all the nooks and crannies; all the edges, corners and sides. But still, it was rough so she took a deep breath and tried again, her tongue poking out of her mouth a little as she concentrated.

"Yeah I think so tooo!" Giggling he watched as San ran to grab the paints. When the other came back his hands instantly went to his hips, head craning in thought. What should they paint it. A solid color just one, that hardly seemed fair. "P u t them down so I can pick, " He all but demanded before blushing and adding, "please and t h a n k s !" When the supplies were at down he picked up a brush and most creatively started to draw a bunny. Though after the bunny was on it looks incomplete. "Somethings missing....oh!" Flames! Flames made everything better after all, grinning up to San he re-dipped his brush.
Brush ready he skillfully put a few flames around the bunny and waggled his brows up to San. "Yeaaah! Now you make some on that side ok?" Giggling he continued drawing flaming bunny's until the wooden sled was covered.

Her hand ran over the wood again and more splinters went into her skin. It would hurt when she had to take them out later. She frowned and contemplated throwing the wood at the wall but decided against it. It probably wouldn't give the school a very good reputation, let alone herself. So she continued trying to sand it.
It seemed her hard work paid off and this time when she ran her fingers over the wood, she didn't get any splinters. She turned it this way and that, letting the light shine on it so she could be sure. She gave a little clap and a cheer and set out to complete the next step.
Sophie picked up the blades and studied them for a moment, turning them this way and that. She put them on as best as she could. She didn't know if she had done it right or not, so all she could do was hope for the best.

Edel figured that some sled building and sledding lessons would greatly enhance her mountaineering experience back at home, prompting her to sign up for the class. Too often, the ice sleds and skis would crack or shatter midway, which have resulted in a number of unfortunate accidents over the past year.
The frost demon watched the demonstration the professor gave intently. It didn't seem too difficult, or so she thought. Fancying painting her own sled later, Edel settled for the wooden base and got down to sanding it smoothly. It might appear that her experience with ice sculpting had helped, as not too long from now her sled was a nice smooth surface ready to be assembled.
