As the blast enveloped him, Akato held his blades crossed in front of his face and torso while he crouched. When it faded, the Demon had coils of smoke listing from his arms and blades. Standing straight, Akato cracked his neck and shook his arms, a layer of flaking ash drifting from his armor.

Not bothering to look at the troops behind him, the Demon resumed his charge, but sheathed the short blades in favor of his shuriken. The flying metal sped through the air towards Arturia in a stream of deadly darts. The demon would continue throwing them as he close to within ten feet of the young female knight. At this range he drew the dual wazikazi and leapt towards her, swiping at her face and neck, testing her skills.

Darres' little walk towards his prey was ended by the female knight choosing to basically fight everyone here. Watching her prepare her attack he would zero in on her sword, Excalibur. Well now that was interesting, a divine sword here, this knight had some power after all, given it was more the sword's power. As she fired the blast Darres would act fast, he needed the Atlanteans to keep the faith and will for battle. Shifting the blade into a zanbatō he'd turn around using the blade horizontally as a shield against the blast and his body to cover vertically. Though about five were hit, the war god's maneuver had saved five more, though it hurt like a b***h doing that. However it got the desired effect the soldiers around him charged with more spirit thus helping him recover. Darres would then change the blade back to a claymore before charging towards sleeping beauty. Obviously the little knight didn't want him to get there, which meant he was vulnerable now, but unlikely for long.

(Ares can know everything about a weapon by looking at it its in his bio so that's how he knew she has Excalibur)

Allies: Martian Manhunter, Queen Arturia Enemies: Nathaniel Grant, Black Beetle, Demon Guy and Some Other Random [Ares in disguise] Saving: The world, as per usual.

Ian's eyes flickered as he heard Nathaniel Grant's voice. It was like nails on a chalkboard to him at the moment, especially since the presence of the Black Reach Scarab causing his blood to boil at such a fervour and that fervour also reminded him of his bitter defeat at the hands of the Qwardian Ring wielder. In his current state, Ian was determined to return the favour; eager to wipe whatever smug grin was probably slapped across his face behind that helmet that he wore. That Ian had managed to destroy last time. Even just thinking about it made Ian somewhat volatile and angry. He had to grit his teeth in order to stop himself constructing something, even though he had the ability to kill both of these two enemies in cold blood thanks to Guardian Law, that wasn't Ian's way. That was their's and he was nothing like them.

So, teeth gritted and eyes firmly fixed on Nathaniel as he rallied his fishmen, Ian smiled to himself, folded his arms and floated to Nathaniel's level quite leisurely; it wasn't like he was worried at all, he was almost dangerously fearless but what else was he meant to do at this moment it time? As long as the Reach Scarab was nearby he may as well take advantage of the effects and put all his doubts to rest. There would be no more hesitation, no more doubt, no more regret and no more wishing the ring had totalled someone else's car that night; for now there would be smiles and Nathaniel Grant and anyone else who decided to get in his way under his boot.

And even though that thought was exciting to this new Ian, boosted in confidence thanks to Black Beetle, but even as he floated their smirking to himself a small voice in the back of his head tried its hardest to cry out. This voice was reason. Reason that wanted Ian to fall back and dig in, hold out and not take the fight to the enemy. But what was the point? No one was going to listen to it and for the first time in a long time, the reason within Ian began to fear him. He had one of the most powerful weapons in the universe on his finger and now, right now, he was prepared to unleash it's full wrath on everyone and everything.

"What's a matter Nathaniel, scared that I've got better so now you can't take me on one on one? Sad. What ever would Sinestro say? He'd probably just call you a failure and who could blame him, you're only human in a recoloured knock off of the original. I might be the Green Candle Grant but you are literally Yellow Bellied."

Dude, please post, Arturia is facing almost everyone by herself, not counting her horse. Your character needs to wake up, and soon.

Fierce as a lion....

Arturia was surprised that the demon had gotten through her holy aura attack with what seemed like such little damage. She had thought that he would be more severely injured, but perhaps she had underestimated his durability. But then he continued his charge, throwing shuriken at a steady pace. Of all things, why did it have to be shuriken? It wasn't like she couldn't block them; all she had to do was raise her gauntlets up in front of her face so that they bounced harmlessly off of her dragonscale armor. But they were still annoying. As she waited for the onslaught to cease, she built up another Holy Aura Blast, with the intent of releasing it the moment the demon got close.

Which he did mere moments later. Arturia barely had enough time to get her sword up to block, but she somehow managed to do so, swatting his blades away with a sweep of her sword. Immediately after, she released the holy aura energy in another powerful blast. At this close range, it would surely do more damage to the demon than before. It also took out around ten more Atlanteans, now that they were closer.

Unfortunately, there were still 485 of them left, and they were all coming at her and the Martian Manhunter, who still seemed to be unresponsive. The divine being, whoever he was, was still advancing as well, though he wasn't close enough to attack yet. "Manhunter, if you could awaken and assist me, I would highly appreciate it!" she cried, knowing all too well that to fight all of these men alone was suicide.

....and free as the wind.

Now that was just rude, Darres thought as the Knight attacked again but only the demon and army yet left him out. That kind of insult couldn't be taken lying down. He'd wanted to do the whole dramatic slow walk through a war towards his prey, but that little b***h had to go and piss him off. Flashing her a smirk the god of war would first release a wave of pure war emotions in front of him. This wave would enhance the fear and or anger those ahead of him felt, which was meant to effect the city; however the soldiers and heroes would feel this too, if they felt anger or fear right now that feeling would be enhanced by this power. With the ground work done Darres would appear to vanish as he took another step this is because he teleported, he would then reappear next to the sleeping beauty. "Feel the pain of war in the afterlife," with that he would aim his strike at the back of the manhunter's neck planning a decapitation.

The current predicament around the male seemed to be playing out too slow for him to be able to manage. There was the bickering between the two that were there for the longest, a female and a dark skinned male before the so called male collapsed on the ground. During that all, the new "Green Lantern" appeared all the while of a female playing on the beach. Feeling that none of this was getting anywhere, he left just as fast as he had came, to get some kind of food. When he came back stuffing his mouth with popcorn, he noticed one of the other villains from before had arrived, getting ready to take on the female in silver armor. Wasting no time as the forces were otherwise overwhelming her, The Flash sped past them all like speeding line, the Atlanteans around her seeming to bounce around like some paranormal activity went on.
"Why wait on him when he took the time to sleep on the job?"

The female would find herself and her horse out of the apparent harm they were facing at the moment. Hazel eyes peered through the mask as someone else came to near the downed male. Spinning wildly like a tornado, sand began to pick up creating a small sandstorm just long enough to distract others and throw them off while he rescued the male, bringing him near the female and her horse."Bart Allen: The Real Flash at your services!"

ABDI'KARIM GHEDI

Martian Manhunter

"I'm not my predecessor..."

There, it was done. With an earth-shattering shriek, Abdi stood up, his body phasing through to intangibility merely moments before a weapon almost bit through his neck. Amplifying his voice by changing the structure of his vocal chords, Abdi, no, O'Jore, howled in delight, turning on his heel, pirouetting to face an opponent, before being swept off of his feet by a moving blur. O'Jore went intangible again, letting the man take Arturia with him. Dimly, he recalled that Arturia was some sort of ally, but it was almost entirely blocked out by the red haze surrounding his mind. He turned to face the man, quickly scanning through his mind for just a few moments. He just wanted the man's name, it made it more enjoyable when he would eventually kill him. "I'm back!" He yelled, swinging out with a fist towards Darres. The wave of 'war emotions' had simply increased his bloodlust to astronomical levels, and O'Jore needed blood. Preferably now. He kept up a brutal assault, sending out vicious punches and kicks, not holding anything back. This man was literally a God of War, so O'jore had no doubt in his mind that he would need everything he had to defeat him. Ah, the joys of battle! O'Jore's blood was boiling, never had the Martian felt so alive! His very veins seemed ready to burst with fire, his body vibrant and full of life. He was free at last, and this time, nobody was going to stop O'Jore from killing everything in his path.

"If you get in my way, I'll simply kill you."

"In Blackest day. In Brightest night! Beware your fears made into light. Let those who try to stop what's right -- burn like his power -- Sinestro's might!"

Allegiance: Sinestro Corps
Status: Healthy
Thoughts: So Ian, what will you do?

A smirk appeared on Nathaniel's face as Ian has the cajones to insult him. Yellow Bellied? Hmph, what some people call cowardly, other's call being prepared. As much as he would enjoy taking over the world by himself or facing the entire Justice League as Sinestro has done, the fact is Nathaniel was no stupid. Why try and fail to fight the world when you can gain allies to help you along the way? But when it comes to fighting, he prefers things one on one. And Ian was rising to the challenge.

"So your balls finally dropped Green Candle? I was hoping that you'd gain the courage to face me again," he answered, his yellow ring pulsing with excitement, "Would make my inevitable victory all the sweeter when I crush you when you are at your strongest."

With that exchange of words, Nathaniel's folded his arms behind his back and looked straight at Ian. He maybe leaving himself open, to the trained eye, but he knew what he was doing. The thing was, contrary to Nathaniel's previous fight with Ian, he wasn't taking the offensive. Maybe he was seeing if Ian had the courage to start the battle? Or maybe he was waiting for an opening to strike. The knight was being escorted away by what looked like The Flash, but Nathaniel knew that that wasn't Bart Allen. Darres was fighting the Martian, and he was wondering if the Black Beetle would join the fray.

Akato suffered the full brunt of that second blast, knocking him back head over heels almost ten meters from Arturia. Pushing himself off the ground with his knuckles, the Demon glared at the Holy knight. His armor had burned away in several places, including his chest which was almost completely bare now. His mask was also cracked and eroded from the Holy Energy. Standing, Akato ripped off the remains of the mask and took up his blades again, but only one this time.

He held the Wazikazi in his left hand, in his right he now held one end of a Manriki chain. Sending the weighted chain into a lazy spin, Akato sped towards Arturia again, this time he leapt at the last second, flipping over her and whipping the manriki chain down at her head. He would not fall prey to that Holy Aura again, Akato did not wish to have anymore of his flesh burned by Holy energy. It could already be seen in his movements, He moved a fraction slower than before. The Demon strained against the residual Holy Energy creeping on his skin, making his movements and attacks slower and less powerful than they should have been. The Demon now felt a burning desire to kill this Holy Knight, so much that he would even risk his flesh to bring her down.

Fierce as a lion....

Arturia was absolutely bewildered. One moment, she was on the verge of complete terror, thanks to Darres' wave of war emotions, surrounded by enemies. The next, her and Crimson Crusader were out of the way, accompanied by what appeared to be the Flash, and Abdi was awake and in some sort of berserker mode, fighting the god-like being. What the bloody hell had just happened?

The young British heroine wasn't sure what to think of this Bart Allen character, either. He claimed to be the "real Flash", but that just made her suspicious. She knew perfectly well about how new heroes with the old powers were showing up, now that the originals had vanished, but if he was really one of these young "Legacies" as she had heard them called, wouldn't he have referred to himself as the new Flash? Still, he had helped her, so she needed to thank him. "I thank you for your assistance, Bart Allen, if that is truly your name. I had thought that all of the old heroes had disappeared."

Just then, the demon once again charged at her, looking significantly damaged and angry. This time, instead of twin wazikashis, he attacked with one wazikashi and a long chain weapon with a blade on the end, which he had aimed for her head. Once again, she swatted it away with Excalibur, which continued to glow with holy light.

....and free as the wind.

Allies: Martian Manhunter, Arturia Enemies: Nathaniel Grant, Black Beetle, Disguised Ares and Demon Saving: The World

Although not his style, Ian's new found confidence made him almost pounce at the apparent opening that Nathaniel had left for him; his eyes widened and without a second thought Ian brandished his ring towards his yellow counterpart and fired a quick green bolt of energy. The bolt was concussive for the most part, only meant to hit the Sinestro Corps member in front of the Green Lantern and knock him back slightly, maybe send a ripple of pain throughout his body and personally show him that the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 wasn't playing around. Whatever was happening on the ground was no longer his concern, whether it was about raging Martians or apparently old/new/true Flashes. His only goal was Nathaniel. And this time Ian was determined to walk away the winner in this colour clash, whether it was over Nathaniel's dead body or not.

But then again, Nathaniel wasn't one to go about just leaving himself wide open for attack. So, it would also be a great gauge of Nathaniel's abilities and strategies; making the first move wasn't always something that paid off but for Ian it would, at least, he'd try to make it do so because as of right now... he wasn't sure as to how clear he could think and act. The rage building up inside him thanks to the Scarab's presence was just far too overwhelming...

Mixing that in with the want for revenge and his need to succeed... There was just no telling what could happen...

Nathaniel simply watched as Ian brandished his ring, likely an attempt at intimidation, something Nathaniel was not amused with. But he had a feeling that Ian wouldn't do that unless an attack was soon to follow. And he was right. A green bolt flew from his ring, aimed to hit Nathaniel straight in the chest, but at the last second, Nathaniel leaned and twisted his upper body, dodging the bolt by mere inches without even taking his hands behind his back. Now Nathaniel had only fought Ian once, but as a trained soldier, he can ascertain an opponent's fighting style. And Ian was not the type of kid to shoot first. Too cowboy for him. He was a more reactionary fighter, letting his opponent be aggressive so he can exploit any openings. What led up to him being so aggro is a mystery. Maybe it's vengeance for a shatter ego? Anger for him having the balls to attack his home city? Or perhaps something else entirely,

"My turn."

Now was the time to retaliate. Clenching his fist behind his back, the ring glowed and something conjured right in front of Ian. A pulsating yellow orb which immediately shot forward to jam itself towards Ian's chest. But that was not the end of it. For whether it hit or not, the orb then would explode, with the force of a concussive grenade. Apparently, both Lanterns were thinking of similar things, but while Ian shot out a bolt, Nathaniel aimed for an orb.

Ian smirked as Nathaniel seemed to make such a complex movement out of the way of his attack, it seemed like overkill for someone whom had relied so heavily on things that served a single purpose in their last encounter. You could rely on Military stuff, that's why the military used it and with Nathaniel apparently being a soldier, as he had revealed in his broadcast, it suddenly made a lot of sense for him to use such weaponry. But that was besides the point, Ian simply waited, he was certain his own attack was bound to fail or be of little consequence but what he was more worried about was his opponent's counter. For Nathaniel was smart and his use of Military arms made it kind of hard to read and prepare for because of the widespread damage he could cause. So, as soon as Nathaniel made it clear he was about to attack, Ian didn't wait...

He moved.

Still defying his own being, Ian lurched forward in a dazzling stream of emerald towards Nathaniel, even when the Yellow Lantern's attack manifested in front of him, Ian simply continued to will his way forward, only stopping for a second as he trapped the orb within a transparent emerald box which seemed to contain the explosion's energy in a form of stasis. With nowhere for it to go or escape to and therefore dissipate; the raw energy and destructive power of the orb was now contained in the box and ready to be unleashed at Ian's very command; which was quite imminent actually as he continued to make his way towards Nathaniel, constructed a chain onto one of the corners of his box and flung it towards his opponent like a flail.

From there, all he really had to do was imagine the box clicking opening and it did so silently, right before the leader of this ragtag army' face. The chain was quite long but as the explosion hurtled forth from the box, both men would be sent reeling into opposite directions thanks to the searing hot fires. Atlantean's underneath the two of them would also feel the effects of the explosion as fire rained down on them and the shockwaves sent them flying back., It probably wasn't enough to kill them butt even sop it was still quite demoralising as they looked up towards its source and saw the Green Lantern, bold as brass, unphased by the blast and just hovering a few inches back from where he once was.

"That it? How disappointing."

Hmmm, well played. Not even skipping a beat, the young Lantern was charging straight for Nathaniel, not even pausing to trap the orb in an emerald box. He was not going to be caught off guard by him using his own attacks against him. Not this time. So when the emerald box, with the orb inside, was thrown towards him and opened, Nathaniel seemingly just stood there, even as it exploded.

For a couple moments, it was a bit quiet. But when Ian commented on it being disappointed, Nathaniel was now behind him, transparent as if he was floating between dimensions. He didn't even give a warning that he was about to attack, as he unphased, he aimed to kick Ian straight in the back, his ring glowing again. If the kick hit, the kid would sail straight into a yellow brick wall that suddenly constructed right in his path. How did the Sinestro Corps member not get blown back? It was a not often used trick of the Power Ring, phasing through matter like the Martian Manhunter. If Lanterns can phase through solid matter, it stand to say concussive forces would likely not affect him as it would a solid being like Ian. But even Nathaniel could only keep the phasing going for a little bit before he had to be corporeal. Enough time to surprise his opponent with a sneak attack. Of course having to conceal his movements by bending the light around him for a brief amount of time. Not a maneuver he can do too often, not only because of complexity, but because every moment he's invisible and phasing drains his ring's energy. It's only after he (most likely) hit with his attack that he decided to answer his opponent.

"No. That wasn't it. I know more about the rings on our fingers than you can hope to understand."

Landing in a crouch, Akato yanked the chain back to him and snarled at Arturia.

"You are a worthy fight, Knight. But I will have Dominance!" The Demon growled through his teeth. He began spinning the weighted end of the manriki chain. He stepped slowly towards Arturia, one step by one slow step. He kept a malicious, cruel sneer on his lips, enough to show his sharpened yellow teeth.

Then it happened, he sprang forward, dashing right up to the burly chest of the Warhorse the Knight sat upon, intending to cause the beast to rear in an attempt to stomp the Demon to death. At the last second, Akato juked to the left and continued past.

As he passed the side of Arturia's warhorse, Akato spun halfway and slung the chain at Arturia. Only, he didn't aim to hit the Knight with the weight, but use the force in it's motion to wrap around her torso and then drag her down off the horse. Hopefully she would take a hard fall, and spill some blood of her own.
