"I'm not a buddy! I'm a BIX!" He huffed. "YOUR HUMBLE HOST BY THE WAY."
Humble.
Someone yelled 'Poke him in the eyes' and Bix grinned. "YEAH POKE HIM IN THE EYES!!"

Cheering was lots of fun, but cheering in groups was way, way better. Jumping and pushing on arms and backs and running laps around the two boys, Abbi did her best to coax Finn and Jack toward the mudpit. At least close enough to the mudpit to cheer on Ripley. "Whoooooooooo! C'mon Ripley you're the best arrrooouuunnnddddddd!" Someone else knew that song right right whatever. Way too excited for this, Abbi was practically a spring as she jumped up and down, clapping excitedly as her pigtails swung around.
"WAIT NO DON'T POKE HIM IN THE EYES!" Abbi countered to the others cheering.

When Abbi mentioned a mud pit, he really shouldn't have gotten his hopes up like he had. One chick was in it (great), but the other was . . . Sigh. Ah well. Bros before boobs, Jack supposed.
"Nothing' gonna ever keep you down!" he added in a lazy shout, wondering just how the bookworm would do against the midget.

"YEAAAHHHHHHH!!" Solomon air-brofist at Bix before looking back to Peyton and Ripley's little fight going on an- HEY NOW LEAVE THE SHOULDER ALONE.
"THOSE AREN'T THE EYES, PEYTON, AIM FOR THE EYYYEESS!!"
Said someone who that advice wouldn't work on.

Abbi didn't actually need to prod Finn too hard to get him moving towards cheering on a fellow bro, even if he didn't exactly know who they were going to watch right at the beginning, just that it was going to be a mud fight. At this point, he'd pretty much do anything Abbi asked, just because she was too adorable not to do things for. Plus, she seemed really excited about this one, for whatever reason.
He made sure to stand well back once they arrived, already having fought in the sand and having gotten quite dirty enough this day thank you. When he saw who was fighting, however, he cast Abbi a sly glance. First pairing up for the insanity titan, and now this? The wheels were already working away in his mind, because even if there wasn't something there, it wouldn't stop him from teasing her later.
Still, apparently it was sing along time, and if there was one thing Finn actually really loved to do, it was to sing.
"You're the best, aroooouuuund. Nothing's gonna ever keep you dow-ow-ow-ow-own~"
Of course, he was actually singing, and not just shouting the words like his group mates. Though...shouting was still in order here. He cupped his hands around his mouth and took in a deep breath.
"RIPLEY IF YOU LET THAT LITTLE THING BEAT YOU I WILL NEVER LET YOU HERE THE END OF IT."

It was getting increasingly difficult to maintain any legit air of seriousness as the shouting continued on in the background and Ripley sputtered out a defense.
Okay, so they could have a fun and serious match, there was nothing wrong with that. "Sol, he's got glasses!"
And apparently what was enough of distraction that she let Ripley weaken her punch before slamming his fist into her shoulder.
<Concentrate on the fight, Halfpint.>

"---WHAT HAPPENED TO PALEBROS FOR LIFE?!" Bix's betrayal was sudden and yet inevitable. "Humble my a**..." He muttered under his breath, and then risked a glance at Abbi - and Jack and Finn? Wow, what a crowd! - as they both half-sang for him (wow, his new friends were dorks), and, in the latter's case, threatened his man-card.
No pressure, right? Of course not. It was only Abbi watching. And Jack, and Finn. All that was missing was Shiloh, Ian and Otto and everyone he knew on the island would be standing there judging him. In a battle where his opponent was clearly more practised.
"No pressure though, right?" Ripley managed, half sarcastic but half uncertain.
"Your friend really likes eyes." He commented to Peyton this time, unable to help the amused smile. It really was getting difficult to keep this a serious thing.
Focus, Ripley. Come on. Focus.
The Trainee side stepped in the mud, but sadly slipped a bit as he swung another punch at her right shoulder.

"THEN HIT HIM HARDER!" Solomon shouted back, grinning and punching the air.
Yeah yeah!
YEAAHHH!!!!! HIT HIM!
The trio (duo) was actually rather into this whole 'punch each other' thing. Why wasn't he a part of this??

She was working on it Aren, patience.
Solomon shouted, Ripley slipped, and Peyton felt herself gin in a most unpleasant manner as she saw her opening. Bare feet pushed into the mud, searching for purchase, before she launched herself forward at the teetering trainee. It wasn't a punch he would have to worry about this time, but the small, almost delicate blade that curved out from the back of her weapon. She swung, slashing at his arm, from elbow to shoulder as she moved past him.
Well, Sol had suggested she hit him harder.. It wasn't the worst advise in the world.

Ripley gave a pained cry as the little blade sliced a line into his arm, the area already welting an angry red. With that attack came an odd rush of clarity and the Trainee felt himself move, pivoting towards her as she tried to dance by him. His foot swung out to aim a kick to one of her legs in an attempt to unsteady her, and as he did he shifted to hold Wilhelm in both hands, raising the sword above his head not unlike an executioner. With a grunt he brought the blade down hard, the sharp edge slicing into her shoulder.
Apparently Bix's lonely chant worked wonders.
Or maybe it was Finn's no pressure threat.
...In all likelihood? It was simply a lucky hit.

That dude in the mask was seriously creeping Abbi out. With a whine she wedged herself between Finn and Jack and tugged on their sleeves to effectively surround her. Their chorusing her song totally 180'd her minor worry over the masked dude and the teen jumped up and down. "You guys know the song you know the song you knooowww the sooonngggg!" That was obviously very important. With a dramatic point to Bix, Abbi jumped in the air some more. "PALEBROS ARE BEST BROS!" Way too excited.
To see such a fierce attack make the girl whine terribly, shoving her hands over her eyes. "I can't look!" Except she totally was as she split her fingers to peer back out at the fight. "Rrriiiiiipppllleeeeeeyyyyyyyy! Yes that was really good yes do that again!!"

Poke him in the eyes? Really?
Taym had not said a single word. He was certainly not cheering, or yelling out ill-advised tactical advice. He looked, actually, pretty low-grade miserable, but then again that was Taym's default state of being. The effect increased exponentially as little Ripley unleashed a shot that made him cringe, both from the obvious power behind it and because of the location he'd chosen to aim at.
"Jesus Christ," he said under his breath, to no one in particular--or possibly to Bix. It was hard to say. The low-grade miserable was upgraded to pokerfaced-but-obvious-nonetheless distress.

The kick made her stumble, and she struggled to catch her balance in the clinging mud. It was a distraction, it slowed her down, and it left her wide open.
She didn't see Ripley turn, nor the raise of the blade high above them. Not until it was on it's downward swing did she catch the flash of it, and by then it was too late to react. Dark and light bit into skin that was still bruised and tender, healing, but still held together by countless black stitching. It bit in, and despite the absorbing aid of her shield it hurt and she screamed. Loud and startled, with the sound dying in a weak, humorless laugh.
She grabbed for the place he'd struck, and lavender eyes were terribly wide as she spun around and stared at the other trainee.
<Hey, stay with me, Halfpint! We got this. You're okay.> Warrick sounded worried, on edge as his partner stood in the mud and felt the shock of the blow radiating out in a throb from the point of impact down to her fingers. They loosened around the solid rings of one of her weapons, let it slid free, and it dissipated before it hit the ground.
<Shake it off, Pey. Come on, we've got a fight to finish!>
She blinked, eyes narrowing down on the young man across from her, and came at him again. Quick, agile even in the mud, but the punch went wide, slipping past his shoulder harmlessly. HP: 20 DMG:
