With her renewed focus on the battle, Zanna kept her body stance strong, determined to resist another hit from this monster, especially as it was going down rather ... quickly. It seemed that she was right on her estimation that working together would help; the monster had gone from an obvious threat to one that seemed oddly--albeit silently--desperate to make more of an impact than it was right now. It was perhaps unfortunate for it that she wouldn't let it harm the ones around her, whether they were from Longing like she was, or blessed by the Goddess of Ruin.

The woman of Ruin who had arrived the latest certainly had some very effective weapons on her, and Zanna could admit she wished her possessed some weapons of the sort herself. Perhaps they would do more damage than the weapon she had found to use herself.

At the same time, she seemed to be fairly effective with this weapon.

To her fellow blue-hearted, she grinned, pride still surging from the ability she didn't know she had. Just because she wasn't necessarily a vain creature did not mean she could not enjoy an accomplishment or an idea that was good. They were going to defeat this, and the danger would be gone. Of course, she had a feeling this was only part of the problem...

"Let's get it down."

And so she swung. When it connected, the monster seemed to be in a rather significant amount of pain, and perhaps it made it even easier for Zanna to defend against the damage it attempted to return to her. Standing her ground, Zanna was prepared for whatever it swung at her next.

Hoping to do better on her second attempt at the creature, Rika grinned as she landed a solid hit with her blades.

Not wanting to give the enemy a chance to recover, Rika dove in and drove her daggers into its back. It stretched a clawed hand out desperately before it fell to the ground with the rest of its body.

"Hmm... that one didn't seem as bad as the last one... then again, I only had my spear then," she murmured to herself as she stared at the remains.

Rika perked at the comment that'd been directed at her, replying sheepishly, "I wouldn't say it's a battle streak, more like I don't want others put off because I'm not pulling my weight.... plus it's good experience, and we get goodies afterwards. I like to see it as earning my keep."

"Nae problem." Wyng replied, while scooping up the two items that had fallen at her feet and putting them in her pocket.

Rika blinked owlishly at the two for a moment. Get around? Popular with the ladies? She'd just been excited because she'd seen a familiar face that wasn't trying to rip her to shreds. Oh well, she'd met a friend, the enemy was dead, all was well.

"Thanks, my name's Rika," she replied with a smile as she picked up two items.

Zanna flushed once again at the compliment to her abilities, nodding her head in thanks to the red-hearted man nearby. "Ah, thank you!" She was actually a lot better at this than she expected. Perhaps this was why she was chosen? She was capable of protecting others with her abilities in combat she did not know she was capable of, which would help elevate her to a Goddess of this land...

Her thoughts immediately leaked away, remembering that now was not the time for fanciful dreams and hopes. Right there in front of them was something that could impede that -- if it was still alive, anyway. She saw how severely it was struggling, and was ready to take another strike in a hope of destroying it, when a new woman arrived.

Rika was her name, she later found out, and the woman seemed very capable in her own right. She was surprised to find that the other woman had managed to throw out three attacks in rather quick succession, taking down the monster without much additional help from them. It surprised her, but Zanna was not necessarily complaining about the monster being gone... was she?

Of course not.

Zanna tucked her weapon back at herself, offering a genial smile to the new arrival. "Thank you for your help in taking down the monster." She offered, before looking around at the rest of them, who had fought to get this monster down. "And good job everyone! I think our teamwork allowed us to get this down a lot faster than we would have been capable of otherwise."

That admittedly sounded a bit corny, but Zanna didn't particularly care. Instead, she skittered to pick up some of the loot that the monster had dropped when it died. Perhaps she could find some use for this in making a better weapon to fight and protect with?
