A-ha! Although that was somewhat depressing, no parents meant nobody to scold her about caffeine! Of course, the fact that the foal looked well cared-for and healthy assisted in the semi-selfish decision. ...well, sort of. Boy, she should probably feel bad about that later.
"Oh, it all depends on taste. You'd have to decide for yourself! Different biscuits are made for different coffees, and every one is different if you have a distinguished enough palette, and I think you're well on your way," Latte nodded, smiling, "Ah, don't consider anything owed. If it makes you feel any better, I'll take any chance to talk about my passions, hm? Everyone gets one free drink. Next time I see you, I may have to take you up on that offer!"
Except not really, because he was a foal with, apparently, no parents.

"I will, then," he assured her, determined to follow through. He would have come here over a candy store any day. "Sounds like it might take me a few visits to try all the combinations." Though he didn't like showing it, he couldn't help but feel a little flattered by her comment that he seemed 'well on his way'. With an awkward expression of what he hoped expressed gratitude, the young unicorn shook his head.
"You gave me more than just a drink. You also gave me your time, patience, and knowledge. And biscotti," he added with slight humor. "It doesn't matter if it's your passion; I still owe you. And I won't forget it until I pay you back," Truths assured her. "Even if I have to wait until I'm Old Enough, I won't forget." He may not have been certain how he could repay her just now, being a colt with no real job, but he was certain he'd find a way given time.

"Well, I look forward to seeing you again," Latte nodded, smiling softly. There was some sort of maturity in this foal that was not common in others, and it was so bittersweet. A babby should have parents to raise them, and should be able to be just a foal. On the other hand, there was something unique and respectable about little Hard Truth. He was... honorable. She would indeed like to see him again.
"Well, thank you, Hard Truths. I appreciate it." The mare offered a sweet nod, eyes scrunching slightly at the points of her smile.

"Same to you," Truths answered regarding seeing her again. He meant it, too, as he tried not to waste words on saying trivial things he didn't mean. Despite his curt demands and insolent audacity toward the older phony, and though she had to have known a foal such as himself had nothing to pay her with, she had taken it all in stride as if he was just another customer. For this and other reasons, he was set on making it so.
"It was a pleasure, Latte," he answered, dipping his head in thanks as he stacked up his used dishes.
