"Dammit, it's gone," Night grumbled, throwing one hand up towards the air to give it, and whoever had thrown those spikes around her, an extremely rude gesture. Shaking her head, she fanned out her senses once again to try and locate the nearest creature putting off electric chi. The Ninetales had been so preoccupied with trying to find the Pikachu that she didn't notice the Weedle crawling all over her until one of them decided to take a bite out of her arm.
"Ow, what the-", She visible jumped and immediately began fighting to brush all the little bugs from her body. When more and more began biting and stinging her, Night finally gave in and launched a massive Fire Blast to cover the area around her and, hopefully, kill off all the Weedle. Or, if nothing else, at least scare the survivors away.

What got Amaranth wasn't the chi source being noticed, but that it suddenly stopped in one place. To her, it didn't seem quite right, but maybe it was a good thing. When she got to the tree it was coming from, though, she looked up and realized this might be an easier task to talk about than do. Figuring climbing can't be that hard, she tried to slowly climb the tree. Or at least, in however much her trying to squirm on the tree and claw her feet into it could count. Maybe she should've taken those boots off after all.

As Night ignited herself, the Weedle would flee in terror, and flames. However, the Weedle weren't the only ones that had caught fire, the bushes around Night had also, and with enough time, the immediate forest would too. Looks like Night just started a forest fire. That said, should she be focusing, Night would sense the presence of an electric creature, located somewhere at the top of a nearby tree, one of which is about to catch fire.
Back with Amaranth, as she got to the top of the tree she would find that the chi source was not the rodent she needed, but instead it was a Light Ball. Maybe a Pikachu had dropped one as it fled, either way, maybe this ball of pure Thunder Chi could prove useful.

It wouldn't take Lykas long at all to spot the flames Night had released, especially since the forest started to burn down around her when she did. Halting his partners' objectives, he focused solely on the area around the fox, an orb of water forming in front of him, chi channeling out of his forehead jewel, before a massive geyser erupted from it, raining pure water over the area around Night like a torrential downpour. Not an attack aimed directly at her, for certain but designed more to preserve the forest. It was a rather serene place, he had come to realize, and he liked it as it was.

Maybe a Pikachu had dropped one as it fled, either way, maybe this ball of pure Thunder Chi could prove useful. Amaranth could sense the fire chi beginning to build thanks to Night, and made a note not to go there right now. Not if she could help it, anyway. She was too focused on getting to the top of the tree, and when she finally made it by some miracle, she noticed nothing was there. Or rather, no one. She wondered if there was some attraction between the ball she saw and the Pokemon she was tasked with hunting down, though... she managed to take the Light Ball, only to lose her grip on the tree afterward and start falling down. If not for hitting branches on the way down and finding her way into a bush, the spill would've been a lot more painful. "...Is this why they wanted to teach me how to fly?" She asked herself, not daring to move for a moment.

"Well, that was smart," Night grumbled as she ran towards the burning tree, trying to figure out the quickest way to put the fire out. That proved futile, though, when a sudden downpour of water began and quickly put the fire she'd started out. Then, just as suddenly as it had started, it stopped.
Assuming the water had come from one of her own cabin-mates having finally come to help her, Night quickly began climbing the tree to find the source of the electric chi sitting at the top.

Looking to the now climbing Night with a small glare, Reno decided the rainstorm allowing her passage up might help undo that. Giving a small motion to Tesei, a beam of cold energy would zap the water, freezing it solid on the trunk and remaining branches. Focusing on the higher parts of the tree, the ice would expand into a giant cone shape that pointed towards Night, aimed to give a slicker surface and increased angle to climb at.

Night would feel the electric chi growing in tensity slightly, rapidly drawing closer before a bundled ball of chi was on the verge of hitting her from behind. After this, the chi would grow distant without a second's hesitation, an opportunity being taken to get away.
Amaranth, though, was still recovering and slowly getting back to her feet.

"Gotcha!" Night shouted, turning to grab at the ball of chi floating just behind her. But, at that moment, the tree she had been climbing suddenly became slick with ice, causing the hybrid to quickly slide down the trunk and, once again, miss her chance at catching the Pikachu.....again.
