Reserved for Solo - Explaining the Birds and the Bee's...
Things were coming along quite smoothly, the house was underway despite....the nay say of others and it was drying out a bit. The last time it had rained so heavily it took out some of the walls. It had been quite the storm but at least it was only the one side that was completely messed up. THe young hybrid was actually on his way to his parents place, he had some big questions he needed to ask them. They knew of his mate, heck he had even brought Rishima home one time and had both his mother and father get to know him. But Rishima was out on patrol at this moment and so he felt perhaps this was the best time as any to go ask his parents what had been bugging him for awhile.
Gerraden was eager to start a family, but being that Rishima and himself were both male beyond adopting there wasn't really any hopes in him to start one naturally. Though perhaps his mother would know of some places that they could look for children, a thoughtful expression on his face as he tried to think of the future. Would Rishima feel more comfortable adopting girls?, Hybrids like themselves? Or completely different races? These were all questions he would need to ask the older male but he hesitated to bring the subject up.
Perhaps he felt..insecure about their relationship...after all Rishima treated him often like he was a child and it irked him since he felt that he didn't need his mate to watch over his shoulder like that. It was..though in Rishima's nature to worry and he so desperately wanted to keep everyone safe. With his patrols...
Shaking his head he didn't like to think of Rishima out in the wilderness alone, the idea of him trying to keep everyone safe was crazy but there was no stopping him and that was one of the aspects of Rishima that Gerraden found attractive.
A bounce picking up in his step he hurried his way to his old house, Bo'shi his mother was likely to be home since his dad tended to be out in the shifter market selling hides that his mother collected from her hunts. The house loomed into view it looked as it always did, comforting and familiar. There was a wisp of smoke coming from the chimney so..surely someone was home right?
Trotting up to it the hybrid slung his great sword off his back the thing got heavy after awhile but he was training, trying to bulk up his muscles so at least he didn't look helpless as he was often treated. Leaning the sword against the wall he knocked on the door before promptly barging in. The knocking was to make sure whomever was home was alerted he was coming in. There had been too many times where he found a spear at his throat with his mother assuming someone was trying to rob them. And...growing up there had been many times where vandals would try and trash the place, breaking windows smashing or stealing anything of value.. his parents being together had rattled a lot of people.
Things slowed down however once he had been born as people felt bad about treating a young couple with a children with such crassness. As Gerr got older he knew that people tended to avoid him but with a smile he had forced his way into their lives and still did.
"Ma! You home?" He called out as he looked around, he had half expected his mother to be in the room spear in hand..but she wasn't and that was peculiar.
"Ma?" Gerr called out again expecting an answer but instead he saw his mothers tall form entering the room a large basket in hand. Food perhaps? Grabbing a chair Gerr went to sit down in it, he gave the basket a look of appraisal before turning his attention to his mother.
"What are you doing? House cleaning?" He inquired leaning back in his chair like a punk teen might. Old habits died hard when one was around their parents.
"Sit up before I take that chair out from under you." Bo'shi spoke in a mild manner but the threat was a legitimate one as she had managed to snag a chair right from under him in the past. Sitting up straight he went to lean against the table instead giving his mother a wide grin.
"Well?"
"I sometimes wonder what sort of son I raised..." Bo'shi stated with a sigh before she placed the basket down onto the table and removed quite carefully the lid. "I suppose you could say I was house cleaning, I came across some of your baby stuff." She mused as she began taking out old toys, and outfits that Gerr had a hard time believing he fit at some point.
Watching as his mother looked at the items one by one she placed them on the table, the very last thing she hesitated and then gently removed it with two hands. It was ...like a large petal or small blanket and she seemed to be staring at it with some longing. Lifting it to her head she lightly caressed it against her cheek before returning it to the basket.
Gerr watched curious but not wanting to interrupt.
"What brings my son all the way to see me? I don't suppose your mate had gotten tired of you?" She teased as if trying to distract herself as she looked over the other objects. Reaching forward he picked up one two he vaguely remembered playing with.
"Ah no...actually things are going well..I just uh..came over cause I had some questions for you."
His mother paused as she picked up one tiny outfit that had belonged to Gerr when they first brought him home. Though outfit may of been too strong a term as it was mostly just a blanket with holes cut into it. Giving her son a curious look before she folded the outfit in her hand.
"Oh? What do you need to know?" She inquired as she went about repacking the basket, taking up the toy in Gerr's hand like he would break it.
"Well...Rishima and I ...were thinking of starting a family, I just don't know how to go about it...you know..being both guys and all."
Bo'shi nearly dropped the toy in her hand, looking to her son as if she had just heard something wondrous.
"So you have planned to visit Aisha? That is wonderful!" She clapped her hands together in delight and briskly moved over to where her son was to pick him up and hug him. Though he was tall, he was still shorter than his mom and her strength was immeasurable. "When do you leave? I will make sure to talk to the sisters to make sure they allow you to see Aisha...maybe I should go with you...maybe I should go on ahead..." Bo'shi seemed to be talking very quickly now as she placed her son back into his chair.
After a wheeze to get his breath back he gave his mother a confused look,
"Aisha? What are you talking about? Why would we go to a tree to get children?" Gerraden asked wondering if his mother was going senile.
"Well..its true the odds are slim since your both half alkidikes..and male to boot...but maybe she will hear your prayers! You don't know until you try!"
"wait wait stop! Explain to me what you mean!" Gerr stopped his mother, desperately trying to get a straight answer out of her.
"what do you mean explain? That is the alkidike way, you go pray to Aisha and you may or may not be gifted a bloom. The bloom will grow under your nuturing care and then you have a baby. Its how you dad and I got you..."
One could sense that his mind was blown. He wasn't entirely sure why...he just assumed that..he was born like other earthlings. He had seen many pregnant shifters in his day. But being born from flowers? Why was this new to him now? Was he just THAT oblivious?
"...You've told me this..before haven't you?" Gerr asked feeling like an idiot,
His mother just looked at him before giving a nod of her head,
"You use to ask all the time if you came from my tummy like others from the village. But a lot of kids teased you when you told them you came from a flower...perhaps you pushed that to the back of your mind?"
Ah yes...he was very young then, he recalled being teased because the other children thought he was making up stories.
"Right..yes...we ..can go to Aisha..do you think they will let us?" Trying to steer the conversation so he didn't sound like a complete moron she gave a bit of a shrug.
"Hard to say...but I will make sure my boy gets a chance to pray..."
Gerr gave a smile, well this was now an option.
"Thanks mom.."
