[ OPEN DISCUSSION ]
Solia received a slightly exasperated wave, Gale nodding to her before he looked back at Jason.
"Close range makes sense," he agreed. "I didn't see any sort of bullet holes in the room, and I don't think anyone else did..? Did anyone see the bodies immediately after the incident that could tell us anything about the types of injuries they had?"
Rubbing his forehead, he added, "I believe the bodies were left in the room, which could mean several things. Either the killer was too preoccupied to hide them, not strong enough to try and hide them, or they wanted to make a statement of some sort. My guess would be the latter, as the council was killed together, not privately individually."
What a circular argument, Gale thought. Like this table. I feel as though we're just going around and around without getting anywhere fast.
<< Missing pieces. >>
To Ami, Gale said, "I would make the assumption that the blood on the ceiling is from the killer's weapon. I don't think blood spatter from a human being wouldn't reach that high, but if a weapon were being flung back or thrown around, it could easily cause the bloody ceiling."

[ CALLING ON A WITNESS ]
Ami sighed. This wasn't enough. They needed to hear from someone who had actually interacted with the council.
"Clarice, would you mind?"

CLARICE'S WITNESS'S REPORT:
Opening dialogue: The blonde assistant is busy with her phone. Closer inspection would show a text conversation with Clerise Wilson involving excessive emoticons.
Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): Clarice sighed somewhat tiredly, "I was busy with my Insanity Study. It was part of the large October mission, but also somewhat different from what the rest of those involved dealt with."
What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st): "I was measuring and observing the Insanity levels, mutations, and activity during the mission events. For the most part I was in the background, collecting data where I could," she smiled, but not happily. A wry sort of guilt clung to its edges and wouldn't let go. "Other times I had to oversee triage when Stephen and Sunny where tied up."
Did they have any grudges against any council members: Clarice shrugged, "They could be a pain to deal with, and I'm not sorry they're gone, but nothing personal, no."

[Open Discussion]The sudden barrage of questions and gossip that had been growing across the facility the last day or so had finally piqued Jerry's attention. He had enough troubles with day-to-day dilemmas, the past usually too much of a haze to mull over. He could barely remember his life BEFORE he had woken here, and everything on (and off) the island since was pretty much a blur of bad dreams. But the mental image of that Hunter hanging from the noose, swaying slowly in his head couldn't be shaken. He listened, grimly, as the conversation moved by them. He wasn't sure about timing. He couldn't remember how long ago certain events had happened. His hand moved to quietly run his fingers over the scars of his cheek, while his other hand drummed nervously on the table. He hadn't seen the murder scene- it was probably for the best. He hadn't done any questioning or searching. He couldn't remember how things had lined up. Again, mostly distracted by his own dramas, too distracted to see the bigger picture. He was a Sun, he wasn't paid to watch the bigger picture. " What about a Halloween creature? It wouldn't be the first time ah... s-something p-powerful took one of our Leader's shapes. The weapon c-could have been a claw, for all we know." His mind trailed to Aria, and the awkward tension of her return. His scars burned.

Open discussionDeryk fell silent again as they discussed a little more, and even brought in Clarice. Her insight didn't help them a whole lot unfortunately. Though, when Jerry spoke up, he shook his head. "Would have had traces of fear left behind if it were Halloween. There were none supposedly. Had to be human."

[ OPEN DISCUSSION ] "I would image that sort of information would be available from a senior life or moon hunter." Jason replied to Ami, trying not to look to Dr.H as he said this. Though even though he tried not to, his eyes scanned the current Division leaders and assistants that where here. Most of them didn't seem to be interested in this at all, even looking downright annoyed at their time being disturbed. Everything about this incident was strange. Including the people involved.

[ CALLING ON A WITNESS ]
Gale was beginning to think that this would never be solved. Nothing seemed to be making a great deal of sense, even the answers they were getting. He swiveled in his chair, eyes flicking across the division leaders and assistants in the room, debating.
And, well, as a few of the hunters around seemed to be thinking about her...
"Aria, if you wouldn't mind..?"

ARIA'S WITNESS REPORT:
Opening dialogue: Aria crossed her arms as she leaned against the desk. "What is it this time?" She asked, exasperated. "More of this? I hope the lot of you found something worthwhile."
Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): "In a place between here and Halloween. The Haunted House? With a majority of you?" Aria prompted, staring at them as if they lost their minds. "If you want to know where, I don't know. The inside of that place was too foggy. It was..." She trailed off, her hands tightening on her arms. "It was impossible to pin-point where. Runics weren't working and everything looked the same."
What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st): Aria's face grew serious. "I was busy trying not to die, as I said before. The battle against that... That thing that posed as me wasn't the only threat there." She scowled.
Did they have any grudges against any council members: Aria shrugged. "The Council pulled a lot of rulings I disagreed with. But then again," she gave a smile. It wasn't a very pleasant smile. "I wouldn't be a Mist if I didn't find a way to work around them and get what I wanted anyway, now would I?"

OPEN DISCUSSION
"Huh." Clarice was Clarice. So nice even when on the spot.
"What I think is interesting is the fact someone claims to know that it was an inside job, claims that there were no traces of FEAR at the scene; meaning whoever set this up had either access to the case files in greater detail than us, or, were at the scene at the time of the murders. The notes we received referred to themselves as a 'we', so this leans that more than one person had enticed us here with the idea we shall uncover the real murderer (or murderers), of the council. They anticipated us finding the box and note in the council room both placed there after the fact, and the desk where the box and screwdriver needed to get the note required... roughly 15 people to lift?" She shook her head.
"Their second note asked us to conduct interviews, the group in question who set this up needed us to gather the data, though this person or persons, was able to lift a table that took 15 of us to lift. For what purpose did it serve to use us rather than themselves for gathering information? Rep's weapon attested that a hunter who specialized in dealing damage was incapable of dealing damage to the table, rendering our suspicions of each other and those of similar rank rather null- for the idea that one us murdered the council. It was a roundabout that was useless towards the effort of finding a culprit in our own ranks."
She shrugged.
"From what I know the division leaders haven't clearly benefited from the death of the council, rather they now are forced to take on more responsibilities and thus thinning their ability to lead on the field. This also doesn't really serve the assistants, as now they have more work to make up what the leads can't do for whatever reason. The sudden power vacuum doesn't clearly benefit anyone. And it's worth noting that none of us knew the council members, and we've not even touched the possibility that it was a council member who attempted a take over but was killed in the process."
Solia sat, smiling.
"It's very interesting."

Ami now looked to Solia with- surprise- annoyance. She'd been hoping to keep it under wraps, saving it for a moment when it truly became useful or relavent. Unfortunately, she had no choice now.
"Yes I did bring the box." Upon speaking, Ami heaved a small tin box onto the desk table. "This was found in the council room, hidden in a compartment under the table. I still have yet to procure a key that works, therefore its contents are still a mystery. Even to me." That was the whole truth. She looked around the room, eyeing everyone with a sharp look as if to say do you have it?
Aria took the stand and Ami found her testimony nothing short of suspicious. She'd been "lost in the fog?" That could've easily been false. She shook her head. The whole testimony was somewhat foggy (ha) to her.
Gale's question tweaked her mind. Hadn't there been someone who had seen the bodies? She knew there was- ...
"Otto," she said, looking to the boy next to her. "You saw the bodies." Leaning closer, she said, "You don't have to talk if it's traumatizing dear, but it would be useful.

[OPEN DISCUSSION]" I wasn't saying it WAS Aria... but how do we know it wasn't another... case of the same type of identity theft in some way?" Jerry still couldn't shake his own suspicions. Solia's soliloquy took him by surprised- she had always struck him as a bit air headed whenever he had heard her speak. Her thoughts, though, were very interesting. His finger continued to tap a small nervous beat on the desk in front of him. " Why would the writer of the notes draw attention to the whole affair if they were the guilty party? That's a bit silly. But they clearly know more about what's going on than we all do."

OPEN DISCUSSION
Solia pulled out her phone, clicking away at the simple tetris game on it. "The reason I find it interesting the fact that it's actually fairly common for killers to return to the scene of their crime, even take a sense of pride in their work, turning into narcissism when they fail to be caught and have their crime featured or as a common topic of discussion. However that also means they crave to be in the public eye and keep their exploits known. Transferring the blame of the crime of another fulfills their need for attention, while allowing them relative safety.
The motive from the perspective of those who brought us here could be as simple as transferring their crime to another, or, to create a further power vacuum. We don't know the process one takes to become a member of the council, so a possible motive is they sought to become such a member and fill that vacancy. Or, they wanted to rise in the ranks without being inconspicuous about it. If the leads were forced to take positions as the council members, this assistants becoming the leads, the sudden position of leader assist becomes vacant. The mark on the table we've already established could have been made in self defense. And with the mass blood on the ceiling, it's possible they were not killed by a weapon at all, but rather but runic technology, something a majority of hunters have access to."
She kept clicking away at her phone.

Solia's instigation was curious, Ami's mind worked quickly. Turning to Jerry, she said, "Easy. We'd be gathering evidence against them, which they could then cover up. It's possible we've been gathering their list of things to clean up."
She leaned back a bit in her seat. "As for someone being an insanity epidemic- don't you think someone would've noticed? There was a petrified dragon husk last time it happened. I didn't see any sort of remain in the council room." Then again, there was always the chance that someone cleaned it up ... and yet ... "Not to mention I don't believe we've perfected a way to clean up insanity, there'd be no way to hide it." Just in case.
