The next day many Hunters would receive a strange note under their door:

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

The gossip revolving it was unstoppable: even those who were not initially involved in the investigation period were talking amongst each other, until it was hard to seperate true fact from simple rumours. It spread in an underground network of half-facts and fabricated stories revolving the single incident until a text arrived to all those who were in that fateful room.

Text from ???

TO SEEK THE TRUTH, ROOM 100 AWAITS.

Room 100 was one of the incredibly larger rooms, though someone had oddly moved every single desk from its usual position in rows to a round, circular appearance:

There were enough desks to seat everyone though, if one turned towards the end of the room, in a series of desks -

- They could see some very familiar faces. Wait what were they doing -

-"ALL RIGHT." It was a voice coming from the PA system, blasted into the room, but unrecognizable in who it could have been. "YOU WERE ALL INVITED HERE, due to specifically different reasons of course, TO WITNESS THE TRUE TRIAL OF UNRAVELING THE MURDERER. REMEMBER. ONLY YOU CAN FIND THE TRUTH. EVERYONE CAN BE SUSPECTED. NOONE IS SAFE. . "

The system clacked a bit, and then was silent.

LET THE TRIALS BEGIN

PART 3: IT IS TRIALS TIME!

- Even if your Hunter was not in parts 1 and 2, they can be involved in part 3. They can talk to another Hunter to get caught up or just blindly show up for some mass discussion chaos. This room ICly is one discussion group, the desks arranged in one large circle. All conversation said by others is heard by all players.

gaia_crown Trial Points: Everything is measured in TRIAL POINTS. All players start off with 0 trial points. Players can do the following actions. Note each one may cost trial points. You can only take an action EQUAL to what you have trial points for.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
OPEN DISCUSSION:

- Open discussion costs NO trial points. You may simply openly discuss something. Since this is a circular desk arrangement, everything you say is privy to others. IF you are in open discussion, you must post at the top of your post in bold red "OPEN DISCUSSION". All questions you ask in your dialogue or statements you make relevant to the trial must also be in bold red. Basically, any dialogue your character says is OPEN DISCUSSION.
- You can only reveal information about things your character has personally witnessed or heard about. If asking a question, target the player.
- Since this is one large discussion pool, sometimes, players may find it hard to be civil based on their characters alone. If a player is being ignored even though they asked another player, they are free to continue discussing with other players in the meanwhile. Think of it as an open debate where you are not limited to waiting on the response of one player.
- Please quote players you are asking
- All information posted in OPEN DISCUSSION becomes IC knowledge for all players. If you post/ come in after their information has been posted, just assume your character was "idle" until now. All interested Hunters are auto assumed to be in this room.
- Sometimes information can be untruthful or irrelevant. It happens!

EXAMPLE POST

OPEN DISCUSSION.

Bob looked around. He shook his head at Sue's comment. "Well, according to what I gathered, the marks on the table were dark red. It may or may not be blood."

For each open discussion post you make, you gain +1 trial points. Add it ACCORDINGLY to the OOC at the bottom of each of your posts during this trial. An open discussion only counts as one if you have a valid point to make or if you are questioning or interrogating anyone else in the room. You do not need to wait for their reply if that person you are interrogating takes longer than 30 OOC minutes, you can simply move on and add the +1 point to your tally.
- If someone asks you a question in open discussion, and quotes you for it, if you respond to that person you also gain +1 trial points.

- So to recap: regular posts are all open discussion posts. You gain +1 trial posts for posting an open discussion post. You can ask a player questions in open discussion posts by quoting them. If they respond to you they gain +1 trial points as well.

CALL ON A WITNESS NPC:

- When you have 5 trial points or more, you can call on a witness. See the list below on witnesses you can call. Only one player can call on one witness at a time. Calling on a witness will TAKE 5 trial points from you, so if you had 5 trial points, and you call on a witness, you are at 0.
- An individual player can only call on a witness once per two OOC hours.

How this works:
- I am Sue. I have accumulated 5 trial points. I would like to now call on a witness. First, I make sure noone else has called on the same witness. Once a witness has been called, they cannot be called again, it is automatically assumed that everyone has heard what the witness has to say.
- Go to the list below of witnesses and pick one. Call their name ICly. And post at the top of your post in BOLD BLUE CALLING ON A WITNESS
- Next take the text of the witness you are calling and POST IT individually in a shout post. Witnesses can only be asked specific questions, which you have been given in your little mystery note. It should look like this:

Sample post 1
I AM CALLING ON A WITNESS NPC

Bob looked around. He saw Mary. "Mary, can you come up to testify?"

Sample post 2 also posted by Bob's rper
** THIS IS DONE IN A SHOUT POST**

WITNESS'S REPORT:

*PASTE THE CODE BELOW IN THE SUSPECT/ WITNESS DIALOGUES THAT CORRESPONDS TO THE WITNESS YOU CALLED. THIS MAKES AN INDIVIDUAL POST*

- After a witness has been called, all they have mentioned is now considered IC KNOWLEDGE. That means they have ICly answered all these questions and now everyone knows everything needed regarding that witness. All players can react to this information IClu. A witness CANNOT be called twice so it is good if someone keeps track of which ones have been called. Witnesses that have not been called cannot have anything they say used as IC knowledge.

- So to recap. You can use 5 trial points to call on a witness. Copy the form below with the witnesses name on it into a new post after you have called them using the bold blue text. When their form is posted, they are considered icly to have said the information posted. This information is now available to everyone in the room and all players can react accordingly.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

CALL ON A SUSPECT NPC:

- When you have 10 trial points or more, you can call on a suspect npc. See the list below on witnesses you can call. Only one player can call on one witness at a time. Calling on a suspect will TAKE 10 discussion points from you, so if you had 10 trial points, and you call on a witness, you are at 0.
- An individual player can only call on a witness once per two OOC hours. There is no time limit for different players.

How this works:
- I am Sue. I have accumulated 10 trial points. I would like to now call on a SUSPECT. First, I make sure noone else has called on the same witness. Once a suspect has been called, they cannot be called again, it is automatically assumed that everyone has heard what the suspect has to say.
- A suspect cannot be accused until they have been called.
- Go to the list below of suspects below and pick one. Call their name ICly. And post at the top of your post in BOLD GREEN CALLING ON A SUSPECT
- Next take the text of the suspect you are calling and POST IT individually in a shout post. Suspects can only be asked specific questions, which you have been given in your little mystery note. It should look like this:

Sample post 1
I AM CALLING ON A SUSPECT

Bob pointed his finger at John. "John! What do you have to say about this?"

Sample post 2 also posted by Bob's rper
** THIS IS DONE IN A SHOUT POST**

SUSPECT'S INTERROGATION:

*PASTE THE CODE BELOW IN THE SUSPECT/ WITNESS DIALOGUES THAT CORRESPONDS TO THE WITNESS YOU CALLED. THIS MAKES AN INDIVIDUAL POST*

- After a suspect has been called, all they have mentioned is now considered IC KNOWLEDGE. That means they have ICly answered all these questions and now everyone knows everything needed regarding that witness. A suspect CANNOT be called twice so it is good if someone keeps track of which ones have been called. Suspects that have not been called cannot have anything they say used as IC knowledge.

OOC IS NOT IC

REMINDER! IC is NOT = OOC
- Just a reminder that OOC is not IC. Even if you have read as a reader all the events happening and you have cheated and peeked at all the suspect/ witness reports before they have been officially posted, it does not mean your character will understand what is going on. You can only make a guess that your character would guess given the information provided to them.
- AT the end of 48 hours from now, the trial will be wrapped and all participants will be asked to vote for who they think the culprit is.

- Anyone who guesses correctly will be put into a raffle for complimentary Hunter growth art or alternate art by Zoobey!
- All participants who have gathered (gathered, use or no use) at least 10 trial points will gain +3 rp points for this exercise plus another +1 if it goes over 800 words for this whole rp.

LIST OF WITNESSES:

gaia_crown Once again, this is not considered IC knowledge until a player has CALLED UPON THE WITNESS OR SUSPECT. After calling upon one, simply copy and paste their entire dialogue post into an rp shout post and post it in the thread. This is now open information for everyone once posted. Make sure you post that character's name too.

gaia_crown Aria
Opening dialogue:
Aria crossed her arms as she leaned against the desk. "What is it this time?" She asked, exasperated. "More of this? I hope the lot of you found something worthwhile."

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st):
"In a place between here and Halloween. The Haunted House? With a majority of you?" Aria prompted, staring at them as if they lost their minds. "If you want to know where, I don't know. The inside of that place was too foggy. It was..." She trailed off, her hands tightening on her arms. "It was impossible to pin-point where. Runics weren't working and everything looked the same."

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st):
Aria's face grew serious. "I was busy trying not to die, as I said before. The battle against that... That thing that posed as me wasn't the only threat there." She scowled.

Did they have any grudges against any council members:
Aria shrugged. "The Council pulled a lot of rulings I disagreed with. But then again," she gave a smile. It wasn't a very pleasant smile. "I wouldn't be a Mist if I didn't find a way to work around them and get what I wanted anyway, now would I?"

gaia_crown Edith
Opening dialogue: Crossing her arms, Edith frowns at the assembled hunters and trainees, "I want to know who's put ya'll up to this. Is it Allan again? That boy needs to stop treating our work like some type of galdarned video game!"

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st):
"I was on a mission, not that it is any business of yours. What were you doing on that night?" She stares at you and her frown deepens with suspicion.

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st):
"My job," the leader snaps out, "which is more than I can say for you kids right now. Is this some kind of a...what does Allan call it? Coldplay? CARPing? Either way, shame on you for turning the Council's death into some sort of game."

Did they have any grudges against any council members: "We all just did our jobs as we had to, I'm not the type to get too personal when things call for professional." Her frown had grown increasingly more dire by this point. "Speaking of professionalism, I see a few of my Moons have been caught up in this foolishness." She stopped there, but the squint of her eyes boded ill for the Moon division. (ALL MOONS IN THIS ROOM, roll 1d4 to determine how many weeks of kitchen duty your hunter receives for participating in this.)

gaia_crown Clarice
Opening dialogue: The blonde assistant is busy with her phone. Closer inspection would show a text conversation with Clerise Wilson involving excessive emoticons.

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): Clarice sighed somewhat tiredly, "I was busy with my Insanity Study. It was part of the large October mission, but also somewhat different from what the rest of those involved dealt with."

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st): "I was measuring and observing the Insanity levels, mutations, and activity during the mission events. For the most part I was in the background, collecting data where I could," she smiled, but not happily. A wry sort of guilt clung to its edges and wouldn't let go. "Other times I had to oversee triage when Stephen and Sunny where tied up."

Did they have any grudges against any council members: Clarice shrugged, "They could be a pain to deal with, and I'm not sorry they're gone, but nothing personal, no."

gaia_crown Allan
Opening dialogue: "I am so excited for this to start!" Allan sparkles a bit. He's wearing a strange uniform - isn't that a high school boy's uniform? "Super High School Level Allan Taichou is ready to talk about the witnesses and crimes and bring Hope to this trial!" He is totally absorbed in his own thoughts.

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st):
"Ah yes! That is an important time!" Allan looks at Simon, who spends a moment muttering something to Allan, before the Division lead's eyes light up again. "Of course I knew that! It was the time when Simon-kun and I were at the very important mission where we tried to stop something terrible from happening." He frowned a bit, however, as his conversation was cut short by himself.

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st):
Allan seems to have remembered something a little distressing. "I was talking to someone," He finally responds, quietly however, "An old nakama." That is all, oddly enough, he has to say on the matter.

Did they have any grudges against any council members: "As a fellow Council member I seek for truth! Justice! Your kokoro must burn as you seek to become one with your teammates, it is important to lead, but equally greater to one day become a leader, matching in strength and will..." Allan goes on a bit like this, though it seems he has gained his spirit back.

gaia_crown Charlotte
Opening dialogue: She is busy helping herself to a small box of Pocky Allan had gave her a little earlier, a look of shock and surprise on her face upon being prompted. Her face turns beet red as she looks down. It seems she doesn't do too well with attention as she stutters her way through a few syllables.

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): "I-I-I-I..." Charlotte is entirely incapacitated. She doesn't do well when she's feeling self conscious and looks like she's about to burst into tears.

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st): "Um, ah, I was, that is to say, uhm... " Charlotte is entirely incapacitated. She doesn't do well when she's feeling self conscious and looks like she's about to burst into tears.

Did they have any grudges against any council members: Charlotte starts crying, sniffling as she wipes her eyes with a handkerchief. She is entirely of no use...

LIST OF SUSPECTS:

gaia_crown Caelius
Opening dialogue: The Death lead is still, as usual, poring over several mission reports. An old manuscript seems to have joined his pile, with a picture of some sort of chalice on it. He doesn't bother answering your prompt. Why is he even here?!

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): IF YOU WERE AT THE HAUNTED HOUSE AT THAT TIME:
Caelius's pencil snaps. He pulls a second one and continues working on a complicated-looking map covered in runes.

IF YOU WERE NOT AT THE HAUNTED HOUSE AT THAT TIME.
The Death lead's pencil snaps. On the complicated-looking map that he's working on you see him write in tiny text a name that oddly looks like yours.

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st): He looks up for a second. Is he going to kill you finally and put you out of your misery? Is he going to threaten you? Is this another lecture? "If you were paying any attention," Oh, it was lecture time, all right then, "You would have put two and ******** two together regarding the whole situation. I am sure I am just asking too much, with my request, as per usual. Truth does not equal power. Even if you, through some godforsaken act of miracle from Excalibur itself managed to figure out exactly what this situation entailed, your are still powerless to control or stop the incident from playing exactly as it should have."

What were their relationships to the Council: "I am a part of the Council."

What is their weapon/ what does it use: The Death lead gives you one of his more incredulous looks. You have the distinct feeling he is wondering if you are mentally challenged beyond salvation.

gaia_crown Sam:

Opening dialogue: Sam gives a strange smile. It seems almost pleasant. "Someone is paying me money to keep this seat warm, so why not." She seems in a pretty good mood, humming a bit to herself, a couple of jars of nail polish on the table, as she looks at her nails and carefully repaints them.

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): She shrugs. "Places. Didn't you hear the higher ups? All important Hunters were on the Haunted House mission." She smiles a bit and looks straight at you.

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st):
"The Haunted House is..." Sam trails off, suddenly distracted with one chipped nail. She frowns a bit, rubbing her other nail over that finger, sighing deeply. "Whatever, all you have to know is that I was doing things beyond your comprehension. You can thank me for some of the new Hunters you've been seeing recently."

What were their relationships to the Council: "Why are we even talking like the entire Council is dead?" Sam rolls her eyes. "Half the Council is sitting right in the room still."

What is their weapon/ what does it use: A smile. "Honey, I'd show you but you can't afford." She toys with a bangle around her wrist.

gaia_crown Mark
Opening dialogue: Mark looks extremely dejected, head slumped against the table. He seems to be pushing the remains of eraser bits back and forth on the table. All hope seems to have escaped from his eyes. Poking him only yields some sort of sort of pliable fleshy lump of what was probably the Death Assistant.

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st):
"Stuff," Mark says. He mopes and looks extremely sad. "Stuff I would have been doing better if I was being paid more." For a moment a spark lights his eyes. "You try having to manage all the detainment units within the Haunted House with only a single core processing unit, you can't even imagine..." He goes in a bit like this in geek talk.

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st):
"I stayed outside of course." A little more lively, Mark partially moves his head up, looks at Caelius, and then drops it back onto the table. "I was you know, doing what I was assigned to do outside, monitoring our teams and the units within, that's Insanity detainment as well, mixed with Fear it's just like, well, like that episode of Buffy where there was this big bad and then that other big bad and they did bad things. Well like, so I was outside, and stuff, and almost all the teams were inside, and I was listening to them, when I heard a few voices talking, they were setting up a portal for some reason to" Mark paused, eyes dis-focused, before yelling really loudly - "WATCH THE NEW TWILIGHT MOVIE."

He doesn't say anything more on the matter.

What were their relationships to the Council: "Uhhh..." He licks his lips, "Doormat?"

What is their weapon/ what does it use: "Well," Mark suddenly sits up a little straighter, "Well, it was just a matter of time yes, my weapon, it is so awesome, so amazing, you will not believe your eyes! All right ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on this!"

Mark's weapon is a pair of overgrown scissors.

gaia_crown Dr. H
Opening dialogue: The doctor rests his chin on his hand and stares at the little court set-up in bemusement. With a smile he murmurs pleasantly, "I see you not only feel it worthwhile to waste your own time with this, but mine as well, hm?"

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): The doctor doesn't roll his eyes, but his smile conveys the distinct feeling that he's humoring you. "A rather ridiculous mission involving the chaotic entity you commonly refer to as the Haunted House."

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st): The doctor smiles, "The mission, as per usual with Cael, went terribly awry. The council, as per usual, locked us there and left us to die. What was I doing, you ask?" His teeth flash in a small, almost predatory twitch of the mouth and then the leader's face relaxes back into something more socially acceptable, "I was dealing with it."

What were their relationships to the Council: With a dismissive wave, the doctor replies casually, "Oh, they were just the bureaucracy, you know. Useful at times, a hindrance at others, but nobody worth worrying over." His lip curls up slightly, "Paper shields are just so sadly ineffective when it comes to actual weapons."

What is their weapon/ what does it use: Tracing a finger across his throat in a fairly macabre way, it takes a moment to notice the necklace of jade and gold hanging there, "A bladed whip, my dear."

gaia_crown Dwight
Opening dialogue: The Life tech fidgets and looks generally uncomfortable. A few times he makes an aborted motion to wave at various hunters and trainees. Adjusting his glasses, he finally sits up straight and then asks, "So um...hey. Heyyyyy. I really don't why you wanted me here for this."

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): Flushing, Dwight scratches at his ear, "Well I was overseeing the portals for the Haunted House mission."

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st):
Example post: "Dealing with the to and from involved with the mission. You know, making sure portals were working correctly on this end, and manning communications, getting back-up through when needed. Uh...for as long as I was allowed to." He grimaced slightly, "After that it was mainly doing what I could in case those on the mission were able to make it back alive."

What were their relationships to the Council: Dark eyes widened dramatically as Dwight squeaked "Me? And the Council? Nonono, no relationship. I'm just a lackey. A lowly minion! Not even worth noting really."

What is their weapon/ what does it use: Perking up a bit, he grins, "A blowgun. I know it sounds a bit odd, and like, I got made fun of a bit when I was a trainee, not gonna lie, but she's actually really badass!"

gaia_crown Simon
Opening dialogue: Simon is busy solving some sort of metal blacksmith's puzzle.

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st):
Pausing he glances at you and then replies flatly, "On the mission."

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st):
Simon's eyes narrow, "Trying to keep Allan-taichou alive."

What were their relationships to the Council: "As an assistant, I would sometimes act as an intermediary between Allan-taichou and the council so as not to waste his time." Like you're doing right now, was the message the increasingly dangerous glint in his eye added.

What is their weapon/ what does it use: Summoning his guns, Simon sights down the barrel and calmly shoots the questioner. (All players roll 2d10 for damage!) Desummoning the weapon and adjusting his tie, Simon replies firmly, "We're done here."

gaia_crown Lance
Opening dialogue:
Lance rolled to a smooth stop next to the desk. He leaned back in his runic wheelchair, a smirk on his face. "What, you guys are still after this? Fine. Fire away, you've got my attention."

Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st):
"I was locked in the Life Labs, here on Deus Ex." Lance shrugged. "It should be obvious. The Labs have a record of me checking in, in addition to surveillance footage if you don't believe me."

What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st):
The Mist assistant grimaced. "I was locked up in the Life Labs as the local Insanity guinea pig, chained to a bed." He leans forward, trying to catch your gaze in order to deliver a shameless wink. "Maybe if you ask me nicely I just might perform a re-enactment for you later once this is all done."

What were their relationships to the Council:
"Hey, I didn't have the pleasure of dealing with them much." Lance held his hands up defensively. "I was just another Sun hunter running around bashing heads in and taking names. Even after my promotion I didn't have to deal with'em much."

What is their weapon/ what does it use:
Lance stared. Then he slowly brought his hand to his face and took a deep breath. "Really? Really? It's a lance. Where do you think I got my name from?"

The assistant shamelessly pulled out his weapon and struck a pose. "There. Now you know."

This was certainly escalating quickly. Now they were having some sort of trial... but they didn't have anyone being defendant or the persecutor. In any case, Deryk shuffled on into the room and took a seat quietly.

Though, he was fidgeting quite a bit.

"Man..."

What if they ended up persecuting the wrong guy? That would be... very bad.

Gale, sitting in the seat beside Deryk with one leg crossed over the other, gloved hands linked in his lap, was looking simultaneously apprehensive and mildly exasperated, as though the entire thing were something that was very obviously not going to end well.

It probably wasn't.

"Looks like we're all in it deep now, aren't we," he murmured, half to himself, half to whoever was around him.

While Otto had originally found the bodies with Sherry back in the day, it in no way gave him any real insight on what the Hell happened. He'd even conducted a small investigation on his own at one point. Which failed miserably and made him terrified of Jerry for a solid week.

These reasons added to his discontent to participate in this new investigation. He didn't want that paranoia to sink in again, and honestly it all felt like a trap. Somehow, when that third letter was slipped under his door, he just couldn't say no. His curiosity was peaked. For better or for worse.

So there he sat, idly glaring at Deryk and Gale because they were both dorks.

Silently judging them.

[ OPEN DISCUSSION ]

Ami was disappointed to see that she wasn't the first person there. She prided herself on being early to things, so it was a slight let down.

She took a place near Otto- big surprise there. She figured it would be easiest if she had someone close to her to confer to. Little whispers under the desk- things like that.

Considering everyone was deciding to stand awkwardly, Ami decided to begin the discussion. "To start off with, let's discuss the marks on the table. Considering Tracey- Rep's weapon- didn't even dent the table, I believe the damage was done by a division leader or assistant or higher.." It was a relatively simple claim, but enough to start the ball rolling.

Continuing, she added, "The question remains if they were by the murderer or not. What do you all think?"

Gale was still not talking to you Otto because you sucked.

He focused his attention on Ami, absently twisting the ring on his left index finger. Jinhai was silent inside of his head, but every once in a while the dragon would make a soft noise of encouragement.

"I agree," said Gale. "No one of trainee or beginning hunter status could have inflicted such damage, especially considering it took at least six of us to even move the table in the first place. If you recall, Allan was able to move the table easily."

His eyes narrowed, just a little. "It could be assumed that the marks were made from the murderer in an attempt to kill someone. Which I suppose is the obvious answer, but there you have it."

Gale rubbed his cheek thoughtfully. "Were the marks in any particular shape or direction? Unfortunately I did not get a close enough look at them to determine that myself."

So, all the talking, investigation, suspecting, it had all boiled down to this. Jason felt his usual nervous self as he entered the room, but he also felt anxious about what was to come. Would this be the day they all found out what really happened?

Already there was talk from Gale and Ami about the table. He himself had been focusing on the grate, so he was not aware about the marks or the amount of blood on them. Though it was interesting to note that only a Assistant or leader could lift it, he was interested in the council itself

"H-how strong were the council members?" he asked everyone at the table. "I mean, it seems really b-bizarre that a group of people were murdered by one person. I would of thought the council would of housed full ranked hunters. It w-would be extremely difficult to take them all down at once. "

Ami looked back to Gale. "The marks were large gouges. Clear-cut, lacking any sort of tool mark." Her mind drifted to Leon's note about his chainsaw marks. It was actually a rather useful tidbit. Thanks Leon. "They were cut straight across the table, but the blood was splattered downwards." She figured Gale could do some simple math to figure out how the weapon was swung.

To the whole group, she proposed, "There's also the matter of whether or not the gouge marks come from the murder weapon." She laced her fingers together and leaned on the desk, deep in thought. "The gouges could have been from a council member's weapon, in self defense. It could be a sign of struggle, like the broken glass in the window."

Looking back to Jason, she said, "I'm not sure about their strength. One might deduce that since they give orders to the division leaders, they are stronger than the leaders." She shrugged rather casually. "That's only an assumption though. Don't take my word for it."

Jason did indeed raise an interesting point. Perhaps it wasn't one person, but many. Then again, she didn't know how many people were on the council, how strong they were, how strong the leaders were. There were too many questions. Perhaps someone else could shine a brighter light on the subject.

It certainly didn't take long before things got down to business. Deryk also noticed he was receiving a rather judgmental stare from Otto. He didn't do anything though! Unless.. the teen had.. wait no no no. That wasn't the right way to go about this.

They were starting off with the possible murder weapon and who was most likely the one who had done the killing. There wasn't anything he didn't agree with just yet.

"Whatever had cut into the table, it had to be sharp. P-probably done in one strike each. Rep barely scratched table.. so.. had to be someone stronger. Lot stronger."

Clear-cut gouges, no tool marks, straight across with downward blood spatter.

Gale's Death-oriented brain was already sorting the facts into their proper places inside of his head, storing them for future reference. He frowned a little, tapping a finger against his cheek and said idly, "Are we sure the gouge marks and the blood are interconnected with one another? They're not just coincidentally in the same area?"

<< I doubt there's anything coincidental about murder. >> Jinhai murmured.

Jason, however, brought up a curious point. "An interesting theory," Gale said, tilting his head to the side. "I would doubt, however, that there were more than probably two, if it wasn't just a single individual. More than two would mean more complications, easier for someone to tilt the scale in their favor, if you catch my drift. The suspects, I presume, are all very intelligent individuals, if they have enough guts to take out an entire council, so I'm not sure whether or not they would want to carry the weight of someone else."

It was all so very complicated. Gale twined his fingers together, elbows perched on the tabletop, his chin set on top of his hands as he contemplated the evidence presented so far.

"Strength," conceded Gale, in reply to Deryk. "Or they had assistance, as Jason suggests."

Solia jumped at the chance.

"IT WAS THE BUTLER!" It wasn't she knew it, she just wanted to say it. Giggling, she sat back in her seat.

"Sempai! Hi, Hi Gale!" She waved at her senior hunter. "You know who did it yet? O er- SEMPAIIIIII~" Solia then turned to Ami.

"DIDJA BRING THE THING?"

Gale and Ami both had very good information to go by, and Jason nodded in turn to what they had said. So there might of been more then one culprit. Deryk too, pointing out that the weapon would have to been sharp. It did narrow down what kind of weapon could of been used.

"I'd say that the weapon would of h-have to been c-close ranged." He added onto Deryk's statement. "Like a sword, or a Scythe. A long ranged weapon, like a bow or gun. would of left dents or holes in the wall."

To Gale and Ami's question, he frowned. That could be true. It would depend on how much blood is near the marks. The more blood, the more likely it was from the murder's weapon..since the council members...would of bled the most..."

It wasn't a pleasant thought.

"Were the bodies left in the council room, or where they removed? He then asked, then turned to Gale "If not, they wouldn't have needed to worry about carrying the bodies. But if they were removed, then it would of been easier with a pair of extra hands."

Then Solia jumped in and...well, Jason was having a hard time figuring out what she meant. But he didn't want to neglect her input at all, so he had to think.

"Ahh...I d-don't know if there w-was a butler..." He said to her. "B-but it could of been a person whom was ordered around alot. A person whom was tired of playing the servant role."

Ami nodded at Deryk. The addition of "only one strike" was useful. It meant the person would have to have considerable strength.

To Gale, Ami shook her head. "We don't, it was assumed. Considering there was blood on the ceiling as well, the marks could easily be unrelated to the weapon. It brings me back to the point that the gouges could have been from a struggle, in self defense.."

Ami ignored the question of if there were multiple killers at all. "We should focus on the methodology used to kill the council before we focus on suspects. If we can pin down how they did it, it becomes much easier to narrow down suspects." After all, if they figured out the weapon was something specific, like say a flamethrower, they could pin it down on Aria.

Solia's outburst received a glare. How dare she make a joke out of this. This was serious ******** business. "Did I bring what?!"

To Jason, she said, "The bodies were removed. At least, they were gone by the time we investigated." His second conjecture was more important to her. "Do we know if they had an autopsy performed?" Now THAT would've been useful.
