Yeah it would be good to have only the Merfolk & Wingfolk with some magic skills, since physically they would not be as strong as other Humanoids.
I like the idea of Wingfolk in this being more harpy-like! though Harpies are generally monsters (and female) in the Tales games. Maybe if they "give into the beast" they become Harpies, like other Humanoids who become fully feral they become monsters.

To be honest, bird-people don't seem like the type that'd snap all beast-like, to me. I don't know why, but that's just what I think...it just feels like it doesn't fit. And since we have this kind of race existing, there doesn't have to be harpy monsters.
How about having them play similarly to Merfolk, in which they have a transformation ability but don't go feral? In their default form, they'd look a lot more "winged human". I mean, they'd still have partially-feathered bodies and the scaled forearms/hands and legs/feet, but they'd be shaped like humans'. Their other form could be more battle-efficient, called a Warrior Form, and would look more like the monstrous kind of harpies---just a touch more buff, the legs/feet completely birdlike and the hands more wicked-looking. I mean, kind of like this.
Oh, and for the record, there could also be bat-based harpies. 3nodding Overall, do we still want to call them Wingfolk or do we want to start going with Harpies as the race name?

Go for it, I'd say. It's a bit more original.

Evilweirdo 0 Go for it, I'd say. It's a bit more original. Do you mean, go for calling them Harpies? *confused *
Krazy, one of the characters I plan to make is a Harp Seal-based Merfolk. She comes from the waters around the snow-covered areas, and I plan on making her a princess of her tribe, who runs away because she wants to explore the rest of the world after being confined to her region all her life. Is her standing too important that it might clash with some plot you have planned?
I'm thinking her backstory might be...she's restricted to her tribe's territory for a pretty damn good reason, and things could be starting to go downhill there after she's gone. Could make things interesting once the party has to go there. surprised
And for the record, the other one I plan to make will be a Wingfolk (or Harpy, whichever we decide to go with ).

No thats perfectly fine! It will certainly be interesting!
Storyline wise we have three main conflicts: A looming war between the two main continents, Null's slave trade, and the Lunarian texts being stolen.
Obviously each character has their own conflicts to deal with too. xp

Ah, ive only really added it to the thieves den description. sweatdrop
But there is an underground slave trade in Null, they go to small villages and caravans to take women, children and minorities (Lunarians, Humanoids, ect). I was planning on it being my character's first plot point, his sister getting taken and my second character feeling responsible for her getting captured, thus helping on his journey.

Ah. Okay. I thought I may have skimmed over that in the introduction or something. XD

Dang, I guess I missed that plot point. That could have made a good motivation for Slate. Oh, well! Anyway, it's exciting to see more profiles here. This is shaping up to be pretty awesome, Krazy.

Actually, I think that already fits in with his personality and stuff. I'll probably just leave the profile as it is, but thanks!

Don't count me out! My characters are almost done.
I have a question though. If Lunarians once lived on the moon wouldn't they have greater control of water? What I'm asking is could a Lunarian have water elemental Arts? Also how many Artes can an antagonist have?

Hmm... well Lunarians have an all-around control over magic, so if you want your character to specialize in water that perfectly fine. 3nodding
um..as for how many artes um maybe the limit being 15? sweatdrop
