Even as a lioness, Shaheen could tell when the s**t was really hitting the fan. Fog. Fog was always bad. She backed away from it, growling deep in her throat, paws crunching against the snow on the ground.

A glance up towards Shik with amber eyes, but she couldn't speak to him, not while she was like this. All she wanted to do was attack. She needed a target. A hunter, preferably. Maybe that one that had shot at her with arrows. Something was coming, and her ears perked, twitching towards the sound of crunching.

A woman. Vaguely recognizable to the chieftain. And elves made of fog that hurried towards everybody, grabbing at them, trying to pull them near.

They would do.

Shun soon took a hit from someone else nearby. Another gun user. Hissing, he was getting ready to retaliate, but something caught his attention. Xiu. She barked at him in a way that was rather unexpected. Turning about, he was surprised to hear the sudden order from her. But. There was something else about her. She was practically exuding power.

Power that he wanted.

He said nothing at first, uncertain how to feel at the moment. Looking towards the zombie girl that he was suddenly charged with, he watched as the Baku stormed off to deal with Jerry. His good eye widened as he saw her begin to to attack in a way that he had never seen her do before.

Was it her pendant..? She had mentioned before that she didn't feel too different or strange before. Something must have changed.

Apart from that, he heard Mort calling out to Sophie asking her to go by him.

"Stick with me or go to Mort. It's your choice," he said lowly to the younger student.

"Oi! Xiu..." he started before the scenery ended up shifting around him. He stood there, confused for a few moments, then realized there was now a thick fog on the field. That and it was snowing. Aside from that.. there was now a giant funnel.

"Kusso... Xiu!" he hissed. This was bad. And right now as much as he would have liked to end more hunter lives, it seemed they had something else to deal with now.

Grimacing, he tried to assess the situation as quickly as he could, but then heard someone else calling out his name. Turning sharply, he spotted the two headed boy he had seen here and there.

"We don't have a lot of time to talk," he warned.

He did not care much for the frivolities associated with everything concerning the humans; everything was so melodramatic when it came to them, everything was so overdone. There was a very great difference, Mengyao had already discerned, between extravagance and superfluousness.

Everything dealing with the humans was superfluous. There was no need for them.

The voices in his head reared up, then settled back down, fizzling at the corners of his thoughts like ocean waves. Mengyao stood quite calmly at the back of the crowd, hands tucked into his sleeves, scrutinizing the figure in front of them with a half disinterested, half annoyed expression on his pale face.

It was really such work. But these vile rodents were tugging at his robes, which was so very irritating that there was nothing really that Mengyao wished to do more than to step on the elves and crush them beneath his feet.

The voices rose and fell again.

Deryk stared at Lizzy with confusion, frowning. Well. She wasn't attacking anyone so maybe he could believe her. He wanted to.

"J-just stay out of trouble," he said, then turned to get ready to help fend off the horsemen. Unfortunately, things were about to take a turn for the worse.

When the environment changed completely, he froze in place, uncertain what was going on. Pretty soon, it became clear as fog entered the scene, taking the form of a rather familiar figure. Julie. It looked like her at least. But it couldn't actually be her.

This... This was bad.

Very bad.

What in the flying ******** was going on?

Cass looked around at all of the mist that had formed around the warring groups, her brows knitted together in a very serious look. Okay. Fog and mist (well, non-hunter mists anyways) were bad. That usually meant that everything was going to hell really soon an-

That voice.

Cass slowly looked towards the voice, her lips pulled into a tight grimace. Somehow, she knew that it being nearly Christmas wouldn't keep it from happening. From Julie somehow finding a way to do something involving the holidays. That girl was practically the queen of Santa's elves. Secretly she was Jingleberry's sister.

Not that she knew anybody by that name.

However, she had to keep her distance from the Julie-shaped figure for the sake of her own sanity - likely literally. "Oh Julie... I thought we'd made it clear that we were over..." she frowned. Yet she still felt guilty. She'd only hit you once, Julie...

Why did you have to be covered in bugs and-

Cass clenched her weapon tighter.

Tybalt could have sworn he had seen this ghoul before. Somewhere. But it wasn't ringing any bells and yet, he couldn't shake the feeling either. It didn't matter though. It clearly wasn't a natural existence, in fact, it probably wasn't even living. All they had to do was beat the s**t out of it, like they had done the furnace king and then high tail it out of here.

Or try to. Those elves were very persistent bastards and were constantly tugging at him towards the vortex.

"Bugger off, you little s**t!"

Okay, this wasn't much better.

She was dead. Julie was dead. So why was it that she kept showing up? It was almost as though she was mocking them, reminding those them all that they failed to protect her. Even the personality was intact. A little different maybe, but it was just like how he remembered her. Friendly, cheery, and always with a smile.

How many times were they going to have to erase it?

Ryan cursed a little, struggling to stand. The elves, were hellbent on dragging them all into that vortex, but he wasn't going to give them the chance.

Melvin looked about, squinting through the haze. Surprised, he looked up and held his hands up when snow came down thick, and despite the situation, he had to smile. Snow. Just like home. Soft, drifting down heavy. If only he could have this back on the island....

The smell of something warm and sweet had him looking back down, scanning the area. Despite the fact they were surrounded by horsemen, the smells and the sight of snow had him thinking of home. It warmed him, that was until he saw a strange fog creature in the shape of a woman holding a tray of objects. Her smile gave away her threat, and he raised his gun. Whoever this freak was, he wasn't falling for tricks.

To show she wasn't playing either, she threw the freakiest elf out of fog, standing upon a tendril like a freakish, Night Before Christmas Puppet. It flopped it's arms and went at him. "Oh no you don't."

From behind Tybalt came a voice, sounding mildly irritated.

"Just so you know - I don't plan on turning around and leaving anytime soon."

Ren stepped up to the black dog, his wings fluttering against his back, a few stray feathers drifting and flitting down onto the snowy ground. He slipped his hands into his pockets, icy breath visible in the frigid air.

"I'll finish what I came here to do. So please, Tybalt."

He tilted his head, and the annoyance was gone from his voice, replaced by something a lot softer, almost a gentle, bittersweetness that bordered on pained.

"I came here for a reason, and I'm sticking to it."

With the scythe propped up against one shoulder, Sparrow stood surveying the crowds around him with a slightly concerned expression on his normally calm and lighthearted face. He knew, at the very least, that he did not trust the horsemen, and he had only come here to assist his friends and classmates, not because Medea offering them "power." But this...thing they were up against did not resemble anything from the horsemen. In fact, it looked almost human, though Sparrow wasn't about to simply go up and ask.

Warily, he glanced down at the greyed elves, the vortex that swirled beneath the feet of the creature, and took an automatic step backwards, fingers curling a little title around the hilt of the scythe. Whatever it was that they were up against, it was not something to be taken lightly.

She hurt. Her face hurt, she was feeling irritated, and then Fog was happening. And yet, when Shehk looked up the first thing she could think was Medea is gone. Part of her wanted to panic, looking towards that dark abyss that had taken the Priestess. Would she come back?

Would it have been safe for Shehk to just jump into it to see if Medea was indeed in there? If she did, would she come back out? The Pricolici tried to not look too thrown off while she was still in the midst of hunters, but the tiny elves really grated on her nerves and she kicked one sharply, growling - and then wincing. Her jaw still hurt, after all.

The strange figure was familiar to Shehk in a completely different way, however.

Mostly in the 'Hi, we tried to bake together in an insanity-ridden Haunted House once' sort of way. Well, she wouldn't have called whatever it was they had been drinking 'baking' but..

It seemed like the hunters knew who it was, anyways.

As the area about them began to shift, the battlefield a tumult about them, he turned, whirling, more at the sound of that voice than anything else, and Sharra snarled, remembering all too well the context of the last time he'd encountered this particular entity. That...that hadn't precisely been on his list of joyful expeditions and warm, happy feelings. Now that the elves were snaking out from the void, he shuddered, taking a step back to get his bearings. He'd become somewhat separated from the others, and he looked around quickly to see if he could find them as everything about them burned away into orange hues, tinged with darkness, shadow....the void awaiting.

This was, indeed, Madness.

Spotting a flash of blond hair, he pressed forward, trying to find the valkyrie. "FREYA!"

He couldn't help but be worried about her, concerned by the way the ghoul had cringed behind him as though her very life had depended on him. And Herryk...the Nergal wasn't all too familiar with the fellow, but he knew that there had, to his knowledge, been something betwixt the two. If he frightened her now, he could only guess what might have happened. Jack help them all, but surviving this fight with any rational thought left might prove to be the true challenge.

Orders were a welcome thing, something nearly tangible that required one to fulfill them or face some sort of consequence. At least, they had been welcome for the momentary distraction they were. Despite being given an order, Mort had still continued on and left Belladonna to tend to the Valkyrie. She reached out a hand to the ghoul as she craved any touch, but never made the distance. A sheet of white wedged its way between them, insubstantial though it was, it was still a barrier. The witch recoiled from the snow only to realize it was all around, along with an odd noise. A crunch, a shrill note and then a voice.
The strange figure from the Haunted House who had implored them to bake with her? Yet something was on the tray, a glint of black and color that resonated with the with. Belladonna sucked in a breath and let it out in a pained note as her right hand throbbed, the shards in her skin calling to their kin. With her eyes directed down at her hand, she was in the perfect attitude to see the little tendrils of fog coil around on the ground and out toward her, toward everyone and form nasty little creatures.
But as she followed them up and up, her vision returned back to the girl with the tray and that too large smile and what she offered them. Damn orders, damn Hunters and Horsemen and revenge, damn absolutely everything but those objects on the tray. Longing coiled within her and the witch stumbled forward, determined and set. Pink eyes focused on the three objects and her mouth parted in one tiny phrase.
"I want it."
