Any attempts at live action shows in Cartoon Network I deem weird (the bad kind that I typically stray from). stare

Samurai Jack was pretty weird, but that's what got me to watch it in the first place.

The original Scooby Doo was pretty dang weird.

To the person who said the old cartoons weren't as messed up, uh, Cow and Chicken. That's all I have to say to that. You just can't get weirder than that. The Red Guy was all kinds of creepy.

Flapjack was weird...

I don't think there's a single show I've watched that wasn't weird. What can I say? I like weird.

May I point out that Cartoon Network shows, and I am not referring to Adult Swim, is aimed at CHILDREN. So, what we might consider weird, kids think are funny. And most of us have been watching Scooby Doo for years!

I never could understand the fascination with Adventure Time. It's poorly drawn and the storyline is just as juvenile. But it's for KIDS so that could be why I am not fond of it. But even some kids over the age of 5 think that it's stupid, so who knows what the fascination is.

And for the person that was commenting on METALPOCALYPSE, again, that's on the Adult Swim schedule, and I agree, that's plain weird!

I can't help but suspect you're not supposed to watch them while sober.

Switching off my critical analysis mode is not part of my nature.
I like stuff like Ukinojoe cartoons and asdfmovie because they are not nonsense, they just run off different logic, while Superjail and Gumball, and a bunch of the stuff on Adult Swim nowadays, pretty much are a bunch of wacky things built around a barely written story.

Eh, Superjail just seems to be gratuitous audiovisual and joke overkill in my opinion, I've never taken well to "don't think, feeeeel" entertainment, that show watching attitude is part of why sensationalist stuff like mainstream news shows are so successful. xD

I see where you're coming from.
But I disagree heartily. 3nodding
When I watch cartoons, it's because I want to take a break from thinking.
It's like a temporary reprieve from the grim nonsense of the real world.

My take is that using the brain is fun and life, be it philosophical, strategic, or intellectual. If I'm not thinking I'm sleeping. xD

If I am tired but not sleepy I just do something that does not require ACTIVE AND URGENT thinking. smile

Then again people of my profile apparently have an intense spiritual and real world awareness and for them, to not make any use of it would be boring.

That's how it is when I try to do that too. rofl

Yeah, I see where you're coming from. I used to be like that. But, that's where a failing sense of sobriety comes it. lol
