It felt like Tori had been out cold for a very long time when she did finally opened her eyes up. Immediately Tori bolted upright since she knew the horse creature still might be around with his friends, but when looking around seeing that now she was alone in the fog. Then Tori was hit by a wave of pain in her head from the sudden movements she had done. Cursing a few times since she was still angry at Petro for the headbutt that he had given her which she had headache and a broken nose. That creature was going to pay one day.

Carefully the Lifer touched her nose to find that it wasn’t too broken but still sore to the touch. Taking in a deep breath as Tori quickly set her nose back in place. Cursing some more as it had hurt but glad that it wasn’t bleeding any longer. Tori did chuckled a little since she did wonder how she looked now with a little blood on her face and now she had blood on her sleeve.

Aklin said quietly since he had waited until his hunter had set her nose back in place. he growled quite loudly in his anger.

Not so loud, Lin. A little more quiet as I do have a splitting headache still.

Aklin rumbled deeply.

Sounds like a good idea and I still have to find Kat too or at least try. She replied to her weapon and Tori hoped that Kat was safe and those creatures were going to pay. Both hunter and weapon were still quite angry, but none the less Tori did get up on her feet to start looking around and to see if she could find others.

So far Tori hadn’t met anyone in the fog as she walked she did want to meet another student to fight to work out some of her anger since it felt like she had been walking in this fog forever.

Slowly the lifer started to see a faint light but a little growl from Aklin that he didn’t want Tori to follow the light so she ignoring the lights and walking in a random direction since she was still trying to find Kat.

Hearing a sound Tori quickly summon her weapon and her chain clanked as she walked to find out what she was hearing. Walking on Tori could hear two voices, she really hoped they belong to other Hunters she thought as she continued forward.

Once close enough Tori did see that she did know who at least one of the voices she was hearing belonged to. Quickening her pace as it was good to see her friend. “Is that you, Sherry?” Tori asked as she wanted to make sure since it was better to be safe than sorry.

Well, that had been a bit unexpected. Sherry had honestly expected him to yell, or got stomping off (or both). Instead, she'd basically gotten a civil answer. Sherry even though she heard hurt in is voice. Dammit, I've gone too--

Life-coach.

Sherry exhaled, letting her emotions settle. "Then repay it. As long as it doesn't involve you dying," she responded. "Because as far as I'm concerned, I do owe you." And he was not dying on her watch. Nope. "So. Now--"

Sherry turned when she heard a voice say her name. A voice that sounded a lot more real than the voices that came out of the fog usually did. A tall figure followed that voice. "Tori!" Sherry's face lit up. "Is that you? You alright?" She was looking a bit beat up, but it certainly looked like Tori.

Jake looked away.
Of course. He had every intention to. If it hadn't been for her, he...
He wouldn't even be here in the first place.

Jake bit his lip.
Dammit, why did he have to tell her he saved her? He didn't want to, he shouldn't of, he-
A deflated sigh.
No. He still would of, with or without Chester's goading.
He may of been a pompous jerk, but he was still human... possibly.

A strange rumbling sound in his head indicated Chester's approval.

Turning back to look at her, he was about to tell her that there was nothing to repay, when he heard a sound. A voice. Quickly summoning Chester, he gripped the blades tightly. An enemy?

... Not unless the enemy was some tall girl wearing a hunter coat, albeit slightly bloody.
Dammit it all, why couldn't he just catch a freaking break?

According to Sherry's reaction though, it seemed she knew this hunter.
Great. Now I can LEAVE.

Deciding that Sherry was distracted enough with the arrival of what seemed to be a friend, Jake quietly slipped away.
He hadn't gotten far though before he heard the sound of... music? Laughter?
Is this a freaking musical?
The fog shifted, twisted, seeming to form the image of a festival?
Tents and booths littered the place, with strange food-like items and trinkets on each.

Intrigued, Jake tried to pick something up, only to have it dissolve in his hands and reform on the booth counter.
What was this place?

After moments of walking and wandering the place, he suddenly felt like he was falling. He instinctively waved his arms to steady himself, only to find out that... he couldn't move?

It was then that some figure appeared before him, wielding some sort of weapon.

What are you fighting for?

Jake growled. Why were they all so intent on knowing? What he fought for was HIS business.

Is it for power? Is it for them?

He had nothing left to fight for. Nothing left to protect, except an empty promise.

Would you tear away those who are seeking another path, force them into a life they do not wish to be in?

Jake closed his eyes.
You mean a life they never HAD, because of him. A life they SHOULD of had, but was taken away by him.

He opened his eyes again when the figure asked for an exchange. WHAT exchange, his life?
Ignoring the figure, he tried to move, only to find out he still couldn't. He was, however, still able to move his mouth and speak.
Though, instead of responding, he attempted to spit angrily at the figure.
... And in the process, only managed to drool on himself.

If he could move, he would of wiped the spit away from his jaw. At this point though, he was only praying neither of the hunters saw.
How embarrassing. Yet there was more at stake than his pride, it seemed.
He refrained from trying to spit again.

"The hell are you talking about? I took nothing from you."

Even as Tori joined them, the fog began to swirl.

"I can't tell you how glad I am to see you, Tori! Armagnac and I have a very bad feeling about this place, and this new kid is--" Sherry turned just in time to see a silhouette stepping away into the fog. "Son of a!"

"I'm sorry, Tori. We'll have more time for chat later, but I refuse to let that brat out of my sight if I can help it," even as she spoke she turned around. "Stick close!" Confident Tori was following her, Sherry followed the death trainee into the fog.

The sound of music and laughter filled her ears, and the mists swirled. Shaped were formed and the world changed. "It....it looks just like that festival." That festival in Halloween, the one she'd just left. "I really don't like this, Tori, stay guarded," and with that, Sherry summoned her weapon.

Agreed. Her eyes scanned the area, and a bit of color jumped out a her. Found him! Unfortunately, he wasn't alone. This doesn't look good at all.

There was a whole group of figures, but her attention was on the figure in front, the one with the weapon. It seemed to be speaking. Something taken? By who? When? She approached cautiously, but two steps before she was even with the new kid, a strange feeling washed over her. Dammit. She couldn't move.

She heard the death trainee's response, and his thoughts seemed to echo her own. "What do you mean?" she asked the figure.

"You have taken something from me. I would like it returned."

"We didn't take anything from you," Sherry insisted. Not as far as she knew, anyway. She'd been with the new kid for a little bit now, and Sherry knew Tori wasn't likely to steal.

Tori smiled when she heard Sherry reply as it was good to see her as she walked closer and unsummoned her weapon, but Tori was going to keep one eye out for trouble as one didn’t know what the fog could bring. “Yes its me, I’m alright for the time being but if you ever see a horse creature with spiky hair and tattoos kill him for me. He ever so thought to headbutt me to which I got a broken nose and a headache,” she replied with her anger being soothed away in with Sherry there but the anger still there just a little deeper inside then it was before.

The Tori gave Sherry a quick hug as it was good to be with her friend and not alone in this fog. “I’m glad to see you as well, Sherry. I will have to agree with you on that this place is just so strange,” Tori said.

Smiling a little bigger hearing Sherry swear and call the new kid a brat since Tori had never seen him before but then she had recently been keeping to herself and reading. “That is alright with me as its better to stay together than go it alone,” Tori replied as she did have to agree with the other lifer even if Tori had a lot to talk about to her friend. They all had better survival if they all stayed together.

Hearing the sound of laughter and music coming from the fog as it swirled around them. Shivering slightly when the fog twist and changes around them to form what Tori thought could be a festival since it sorta kind she had seen before. “Your right it does look like a festival,” Tori said as she didn’t know what festival Sherry was talking about since she hadn’t gone to Fright Night. “Ok I will and you do the same,” Tori replied as she also summoned her own weapon.

Tori mentally nodded to here weapon. Good, she thought to herself as her own eyes fell on the boy that Sherry was looking for and to see that he wasn’t alone. Aklin growled softly as Tori walked closer but carefully since there was a group of them especially the one with the weapon since anything could happen. Just as Tori got closer to Sherry that she felt something strange wash over her. s**t, she couldn’t move now of all the bad luck for this to happen now.

Hearing what both of them had said to the figure as Tori was just so confused. “What do you mean,” Tori answered even more confused now since she didn’t know what the figure was talking about.

"You have taken something from me. I would like it returned."

“I have no idea what you are talking about,” she added but the figure just kept on smiling like she was a little kid that was lying to it face. Growling slightly since she would have never taken anything in her life and why would she even do so now. “We didn’t take anything from you!!” Tori insisted. Now slightly pissed off as her anger started to rise again as she glared at the figure and she knew that Sherry wouldn't steal and thought the new kid wouldn't have either from the response he gave.

Jake may of "stole" in his past life, but it was only to sustain himself. There was only so much a kid could do with no one to depend on.
Regardless, he had no idea who this figure was, and even if it was one of the "figures" he stole from in the past, there was no way he could return it now.

Stubborn, aren't we? No matter.

Jake watched wide-eyed as the figure rose its weapon. Wait, WHAT? He struggled, trying to free himself. He may of been cocky before, but he had NO intention of dying just yet. Or, probably, he was actually scared of dying.

"I didn't STEAL anything, dammit!"

No use. He still couldn't move.
He closed his eyes, preparing himself for the blow.

...
...

Silence.

Jake slowly opened his eyes. Was... was he dead? He looked himself over, and found no new visible wounds besides the one he obtained earlier. Looking around, he realized he was alone now, only surrounded by white fog. It seemed those figures weren't there anymore either.

He clutched his head, shaking it, trembling slightly. Just... just what the hell was going on here?

Sherry heard Tori respond in the same way. They had taken nothing from whoever this was. If only she could move! They were clearly at the mercy of this being, and it didn’t seem pleased with them. “We took nothing,” she said again.

"Stubborn, aren't we? No matter."

Sherry let out the tiniest of gasps as the figure raised its weapon. She wanted so badly to raise her own, but it was all to no avail. Armagnac roared in her head. Sorry. The life trainee felt utterly helpless.

And then it was gone. She must have blinked, because suddenly there was nothing but fog. Stark, white fog. No figure, no weapon, and no sign of her friends. Her hand pulled Armagnac in close. I can move again! She looked down, half-expecting there to be fresh blood, but there was nothing. Had it really not attacked?

Armagnac was growling.

So do I, Sherry replied, turning in a slow circle. Nothing. Nothing by the fog. “Guys?” she called. Her voice sounded weaker than she had anticipated, and muted. It was almost like the fog was swallowing it the moment it left her lips. “Tori? New Kid?” Nervousness was creeping in; she felt utterly alone in this fog. It’s playing tricks on us again. Do you think we’ve been moved? Sherry hoped not. They had just found Tori, and she’d promised the New Kid she’d keep him alive, even if he’d objected to it. A chill ran down her spine. Being in a group usually kept such chills away, too.

The weapon put extra emphasis on the last word. Sherry nodded. Clutching the glaive close, she took one cautious step forward, then another. The fog was thick, and she could hardly see more than a couple feet in front of her. No. She didn’t like this at all.

The fog swirled slightly, and Sherry thought it seemed to be darkening a bit. “Tori? New Kid?” she whispered this time, not wanting to draw any unwanted attention. Though whatever this is definitely knows I’m here. It was not a comforting thought.

Squelch!

She had stepped in something. Water? She looked down, but it was hard to see anything but the dark floor beneath her. The fog was darker now, obscuring things even more. She took yet another cautious step, and felt the toe of her boot hit something soft and forgiving before landing in more liquid. Sherry’s heart began to creep up her throat. She’d felt things like this before. Oh, Lord, no.

Closer her eyes, the trainee leaned over to get a better look at what was blocking her path. No, no, no, she whispered to herself as she fully realized what she was looking at. A body. How had she not seen it? This fog, this blasted dark fog! Whose body was it? The strange figure’s? The New Kid’s? Tori’s? “No,” she whispered. “Please, no.”

Everything seemed darker, it was impossible to discern anything about the figure before her. Who, who, who? Her free hand reached down. Warmth, she felt warmth through her glove. And wet. The liquid seeped through the fabric covering her hand. Blood. Who? Her hand searched, and she found a wound. A wet, warm wound. She heard a breath—Alive! Armagnac! They are alive! Sherry dropped to her knees next to the figure.

“It’s okay,” she whispered, desummoning her weapon.

It could be one of them, Armagnac. It could be, Sherry hoped it wasn’t, but she knew it could be. Even kneeling over the figure, she couldn’t see who it was. She couldn’t see, but she could feel. Her second hand followed the first to the wound. It was large, a nasty wound. Not something people usually survived. The figure took another breath, and Sherry felt warm rush of liquid wash over her hands.

“No, no. Don’t die,” Sherry whispered. Please, please don’t be the New Kid or Tori. Please. The figure from before had raised that weapon, and while he hadn’t struck her, he may have struck one of them. Was that what happened? Please, no.

She could feel the sticky warmth around her knees now, and her gloves were soaked. Sherry shuddered. The fog had grown darker, and Sherry saw blackness and felt warm liquid rising. No, she told herself, forcing the memory away. There is only one body here, and it’s not dead yet. She felt another gush of warmth.

No. What if it’s one of the others? I can’t, Armagnac. I can’t. With her right hand, she removed one of the bandages on her left arm. It had no runic abilities left, but it was something. Something that might help stop the life from draining from whoever this was. Please, please don’t be Tori or the New Kid, she repeated as she shoved the bandage at the wound. It was all she could do to try and attempt to heal whoever (and whatever) it is.

“No,” Sherry pleaded, “don’t die.” Her hands pressed the bandage deeper into the wound, attempting in vain to stop the bleeding.

The sound of worry in Chester's voice made Jake snap out of his daydream, and he looked around.

Y-yah.

Shakily, he got to his feet, and started to walk aimlessly.

I never do.

A sigh.
Jake wandered some more in the fog, until he head a voice.
No, don't die.

Jake lifted up the tonfas again.
Why were there always voices?
But this one... sounded kind of familiar?

Cautiously, he headed towards the sound, until he caught sight of a hunter coat.... and short brown hair.

He desummoned his weapons as he walked towards her.
It looked like she was... cradling something in her arms.
A... person? Was it her hunter friend?

When he was close enough to stand over her, he peered down at the figure and... couldn't recognize the person... thing, at all.
All he knew was that the thing was gushing blood, or... whatever it was, and would probably die if Sherry wasn't applying pressure on the wound.

He only shrugged, indicating it wasn't his problem. He didn't have any healing items on him, and he didn't really care.

I have BETTER things to do, like figuring out how to get out of this hell hole.

He walked away.

"Don't die!" She knew it was futile begging. She knew. But she couldn’t just…she couldn’t just leave. She just….

Footsteps. A presence. Sherry turned, seeing the fog swirl. A hunter coat—It was the New Kid! Thank God! At least he was alive. “H-hey!” she called. Her voice was weak, and almost to the point of cracking. “New Kid.” She thought about adding ‘you’re alive,’ or something, but she remembered what he’d said last time she’d something like that. “New Kid,” she repeated.

Even as it left her lips, she had a horrible thought. If he was there, then this was…Her head whipped back around to the body before her. Tori? Please, no, please, her hands pushed deeper into the wound, and more of the warm, dark liquid flowed out. Sherry’s eye frantically searched up and down the figure. The shape was wrong. She didn’t think it wore a coat. But it was hard to tell. Not Tori, please don’t be Tori! She could feel the tears welling up in her eyes.

The figure let out another wheezing breath.

She turned her head to look at the death trainee. Hell, she didn't even know his name. “Are you just…” No, he wouldn’t help. Sherry blinked back her tears. “Have you seen….” Why was she even asking? He already said he didn’t care.

The figure let out another breath. Sherry felt another pulse of liquid.

“Don’t leave, please.”

He stopped when she called out to him, and turned around to see her still trying to save the figure. That thing/person was close to dead anyways. It would probably be better to just put it out of its misery.

Another shrug. He wasn't the one crying over a nearly-dead body. Though if it WAS him, yah, he'd probably just end it.

Jake scoffed. And what? Wait for insanity to infect her?
The way she was acting, it probably wouldn't be long before she started going crazy.
But... he was actually feeling pity, or maybe he actually didn't want to be alone (though he'd never admit it), and decided to walk back to her side.

"You know... I have a name. It's Jake."

He watched on as she continued her fruitless attempts.

"It'd probably be easier to just put them out of their misery."

Sherry sniffed. She was practically crying as she felt the life of whoever this was --Please not Tori-- leak out through her hands. Why?

She glanced up as she felt the New Kid come closer. Jake. She filed it away. "Thanks," she sniffed. She might have said what she was thanking him for, but then he spoke again.

"No, I...I can't. They...What if...." What if it's Tori?

"No."

She cried.

Hearing the others as Tori kept her eyes on the figure with the weapon wondering what it was going to do and Aklin just kept on growling softly as he didn’t like seeing the figure shaking it head since it could only mean trouble for them.

"Stubborn, aren't we? No matter."

Tori cringed some when Aklin screamed in her head to move as the figure started to raise the weapon against them. She had been trying to move but it was all for not since she was still frozen in place. Tori had even tried to raise her weapon in defense and still got the same results of not being able to move one bit. Growling slightly as Tori’s anger was rising to the surface waiting for the figure attack to hit.

Waiting but nothing had happened except for the fog had surrounded her even more and Tori looked around to see the figure was gone, had it attacked she thought. Looking herself over to see that she didn’t have any wounds but Tori couldn’t explain it that she felt different and that even made her more confused to what was happening here.

Finding that she could move again Tori pulled her weapon closer for comfort and to have a better defense just in case that figure came back. The lifer looked around to see that she was surrounded by fog and couldn’t see the others at all. A little worried that Sherry or the new kid might have gotten in trouble or something else since Tori did want to stick close to the both of them since it was better than being alone right now.

Sounds like a good idea Lin and I also don’t like this place as it’s just so confusing. Tori replied to her weapon and started to walk to find Sherry and the new kid.

It wasn’t too long when Tori could hear someone calling out but it was a little hard to figure out where the voice was coming from, so she just kept on walking where Tori thought she heard the voice coming from. Dam she really hated this fog as it looked like it was playing with them and Tori didn’t like that one bit and she also wanted to know why it was doing it too. They just had to be a reason since to Tori’s logic there had to be a reason even if it was just too simply playing with them to find out how they would react and she wanted to clear up some of her confusion too.

“Don’t die”

Tori recognized that voice to which she quickened her pace towards the voice in the direction she hoped they were in.

“Don’t leave, please”

She heard a little louder this time and Tori got a little worried that either one of them could be in trouble. The fog seemed to thin a little the closer Tori thought she was getting to the voices and soon enough she could see a little better thought the fog to see Sherry holding a figure that Tori could see was clearly bleeding and a need of help. The lifer unsummoned her weapon quickly while closing the gap between herself and Sherry. Also seeing the new kid just standing there to which she didn’t know what to thinking of him at this point, but she could see that he wasn’t being helpful at all and she wondering to what was his deal was. Kneeling right next to Sherry and attempt to heal whoever (and whatever) it is along with her friend as she leaned up against her too to comfort the other lifer too.

“It’s alright, Sherry. I’m here to help you out,” Tori said as she applied her hands next to Sherry’s to help the best that she could to get the wound to slop bleeding and she didn’t even know what Sherry had been crying about. Since this figure could have been another one of there friends since she really couldn’t tell who it could be as the fog was just so thick and dark.

No I have to try since Sherry is and we don’t know that unless we try Lin. She replied to her weapon as Tori want to be helpful and being a life hunter she was suppose to help heal even if she didn’t know much about anything medical.

I will don’t worry too much. She replied to Aklin and really hoping that this figure wasn’t another one of there friends since she would want them to live no die.

Sherry blinked back her tears, and felt another presence. She looked over just as the other Lifer began to speak. A flood of relief washed over Sherry as she realized Tori was crouching beside her, fully and completely alive.

They're safe, she sniffed. Both of them. But then who was this? Who was dying underneath her hands?

"Tori," Sherry sniffed again. "Glad to see you. Yes, please, help. I don't know what we can do." She looked helplessly at her hands, then back at Tori.

Tori gave Sherry a big smile since she did want to give her a hug but right this second it wasn't practical but later on Tori totally would. Aklin just chuckled a little at his hunter.

"Its alright," Tori replied and mentally nodded to her weapon. "I'm glad to see you too. Yep I will help the best that I can as us Lifers have to stick together to help the best we can," she added still smiling at Sherry.

Putting her hands on top of Sherry's hands to apply more pressure on the wound as Tori could feel more blood coming out of the wound, even hearing the ragged breaths from the figure as they tried to breath. This has got to work, Tori thought. I wish that I had some bandages as that would have been useful she said to herself and when this was all over Tori was going to beat jenga were she could carry runic bandage with her to missions.

Despite all of what they were doing Tori could feel that what they were doing was in vain. As the lifer could feel the life of this figure staring to fade along with the figures breathing starting to slow down. Come on you can live, Tori thought.

Dangerous Hunter

And then there were 3.
Jake frowned as the third figure came closer, grip never loosening on the weapons. He was tired of all these random things/people sneaking up on him.
When he noticed it was the other female hunter though, he dropped his arms. So if she was there, what was Sherry holding...

He looked down, perplexed.
The other hunter also knelt down to help her.
Jake's lips twitched.
Idiots. What the hell were they doing? This was completely useless.

"Ok, your friend's not dead. You can leave that thing to die now."
Seriously. At this rate, it probably was dead. What a waste of time.

He shook his head and wandered off. GIRLS. Thinking they could save anything and everything.
Maybe it was a lifer thing.
He didn't know and didn't really care. All he knew was that they were wasting their time with... whatever that thing was, while something NOT dying could easily attack them while they were blubbering over some dead body, probably an enemy for all he knew.

He hadn't gotten far when he heard another voice... and a smell.
Cooking...?
It did nothing to soothe his nerves though.

A strange figure appeared out of nowhere, seeming to carry a tray of... SOMETHING, looking at him with an eerie smile.

Oh, here again? Oh, well, I would love the help!

Jake raised an eyebrow. Help?
... What did it mean by again?

I prepared some fresh ingredients already, so feel free to pick out a few. I'm not picky, really! I'll take anything you want to use.

Silence.
What the heck was it...
He opened his mouth to say he wasn't hungry, but the figure spoke again.

Well if you insist. Leftovers work as well, let's make something that will surprise everyone!

What. the. hell.
Deciding that the figure wouldn't listen to anything he said, he looked at the counters instead. At least... this one didn't seem as dangerous as the figure before... though, who knew. That smile unnevered him. And that tray could CLEARLY be used as a weapon.

Ignoring Chester, he looked at the items on the counter.
They... what the heck was this?
They looked like the giant inkblobs from hell.... but with eyes.

Don't be shy! Or else how will you ever discover your talent?

Jake gave an exasperated look.
WHAT TALENT?
It seemed like the figure would keep pestering him until he made a choice.
He ALMOST regretted leaving the two girls. Almost.
Actually, part of him kind of wished he was with that first figure again.

He huffed. This "haunted house" turned out to be more and more to be like a loony bin. No wonder people were going insane.

He picked up the strange black fluffy creature and shoved it in the figure's face.
"There. I picked something. Now will you KINDLY let me leave?"
