Bluetabbycat Wire_Colossus Let me know what you think. Looks pretty good so far! 3nodding Which Transformers universe are you setting your characters in, though? From their descriptions, I'd guess TF Prime? I should really do some write-ups of my own characters. sweatdrop The Bay movie verse, Though I could very easily see The family in TF Prime. I would love to see write ups of your characters and I have more characters to show. Smack-Down: Smack-Down is the second oldest out of the Thirteen. She is a rather beautiful femmebot with legs that are very different, though they look similar.. Her alt form is the cybertronian equivalent of a snowmobile. The lower half of her left leg contains her vehicle form’s track and tread, while the lower half of her right leg has the long seat of her vehicle form for a shin. Both lower legs have exhaust pipes exiting the legs on the outer sides of the knees. Her arms are also asymmetrical, her left arm being larger than her right with a bigger hand as her left arm is constituted of more parts than her right. Her left arm is her primary weapon arm, having an array of weapons at her disposal. Her left arm contains a cybertronian gatling gun, a doubled edged cleaving blade, and her hand of course. Her Right arm contains a long rang mass driver weapon: A compact rail gun capable of tearing opponents apart using irresistible kinetic force from incredible distances. Her Right arm is thinner and shorter than her left arm; looking scrawny by comparison, however, her right arm is proportionately the right size for her body which in turn makes her left arm the abnormal one. Smack-Down has a slightly curvy angular build, and has a helmet of backward facing white blades that imitate hair. Her body is primarily white in color, with a fire engine red stripes on her left arm and legs, and black highlights which in alt mode results in a white and black snowmobile with red racing stripes on the front that trace the sides of the vehicle. Her alt form completely lacks weapons, and so in order to fight effectively she must transform. In her bot mode, she stands 14ft 7 inches and weighs around 1000 pounds. Crunch-Back: Crunchy as his father calls him, is the youngest of Drill-Jaw’s thirteen restored children, though he is the thirteenth oldest out of over three dozen children. Crunchy has a disguise form of a custom black Volkswagen Bug with chrome highlights and black leather interior. His mecha mode or robot mode is a 7ft tall short legged, broad shouldered, big fisted male transformer with whose disguise form wheels become his ankles and the palms of his hands. He has two blue optics stacked one above the other on the left side of his face, while the right side of his head is one big motion sensor. He’s very much a dopey jokester, and doesn’t seem very bright; being a dumb brute really. Despite his small size he is remarkably strong for a scout, his punches pack a wallop. He has fought and killed decepticons and Autobots alike several times his size and several times smarter than him. Don’t underestimate him. It’ll cost you if you do. And Here's the father of the this family, The king of terror from below, Drill-Jaw!!!!!! Drill-Jaw, a name synonymous with stories of decepticons being pulled into the ground and being never seen or heard from again. Drill jaw is a male Autobot who has been on earth for over ten thousand of earth’s years. He is what some humans can only describe as a land shark. A 100ft long tunnel boring mechanical beast that appears to swim through the ground and resembles a prehistoric shark of the oceans of earth. He is ruthless and effective, his merciless savagery matched only but his resourcefulness and cunning. He has spent countless centuries capturing decepticons from below or behind and dragging them down to their deaths. It has been largely unknown what he does with the mechanical corpses of his prey, but many have theorized that he uses the materials to repair himself. However, this is not exactly the case. He does indeed use the corpses for spare parts, but not for himself. He’s never actually been injured at all, not once in his lifetime. He uses the spare parts of his victims to give his own sparklings life. He had a family once. A wife and many, many children. His wife was killed protecting their children, and their children were slain by decepticons. However, Drill-Jaw was able to preserve their sparks with a device he created long before they were born. A device he built from some of his very own parts and so houses within his own body. He has since used the parts of his victims to give life to only a few of his children…so far. Drill-Jaw’s Bot or mecha mode as some would call it, is a broad shouldered, tall and lanky Autobot with four long and lean arms, two long column like legs with circular clawed feet, a long and lean body, and a long whipping tail. His four hands are able to fold back into his forearms only to be replaced with complex cybertronian medical diagnostic and surgical tools as he was, is, and always will be first and foremost a doctor. His face has five blue optics arranged in wide V shape in the middle of it, and his mouth has a complete set of conical drill teeth set in gums that house multiple sets of conical drill teeth and when a tooth is broken or worn out it falls out and is immediately replaced anew. In his mecha mode, he stands nearly 85ft tall, is of a lean and angular build, and his weight is something that has not been measured as of yet. The device that sustains and preserves the sparks of his children is built into his upper body, specifically his chest, and so stores his children close to his own spark chamber. The Few children he has managed to provide bodies for and thusly return to true life are all fairly small compared to him, with the exception of one. Let me know what you think of these.

Again, pretty good - though I think you could go more in depth with their personalities and history. What makes them happy/sad, angry/calm, what are their vices and virtues, what do they really enjoy or find boring? What are they good/terrible at? What did they do before/during/after the war? What are their aspirations? What do they want to achieve in the next 100/1,000/10,000 years? Something else I've noticed you're doing (probably not even intentionally), is that on the whole you're concentrating on your character's good points, and not giving them any real flaws or weaknesses. This is what I call 'awesomness syndrome'. Many people do this quite innocently, without thinking - particularly if they're generating a lot of characters in a relatively short amount of time. Some people take it to the extreme, however, and just god-mod their characters so much, it's not even funny. I'm not saying that you're doing this, just that it can happen if you're not careful. Flaws are often an afterthought, and usually end up not having much effect on how the character behaves. An interesting exercise you might want to try, is to start off with a serious character flaw/weakness (this can be physical or mental), and build the rest of their characteristics around that. Hmm... Gives me an idea for a meme, that.Anyways... I didn't mean to lecture you, or write such a long post; but I've seen so many awful fanfictions/RPs, that I didn't want to see you going down that road. All of your characters have potential; you just need to spend some time with each of them and really get to know them. smile

All of your characters have potential; you just need to spend some time with each of them and really get to know them. smile What I'm showing you are just the basic desciptions. I'm still very early in the creation process and still have at least 7 characters to make. And a thing most people who have known me long enough know is that most of the time I create an awesome asthetic or appearance for a character but the story I give them almost seems like it was added as an after thought, which usually is exactly the case. I haven't spent the time to get to know them because I want to get a rough concept of each and every member of the family before I start building their stories. Drill-jaw's story is one of mass murder, war, animalistic savagery, and loss of loved ones. Of hate and fear and desperation. His story is quite big, but I haven't had the time or the will to type it out. I start sobbing uncontrollably when ever I try. And the technique you've suggested is one I already do and have been doing for years. I have however thought up some story for some of the characters. what's below is for Crunch-Back. Crunch-Back is a dumb brute who despite being a real bar room brawler, is actually the transformer equivalent of a little boy who likes his privacy and is afraid of strangers. His flaws include his violent temper, his physical deformity (hunchback, misshapen face and limbs), and his very low IQ despite being an adult transformer. He knows he isn't very smart, but he still tries to make others happy by telling jokes when he can. Sure his jokes don't make much sense, but he loves to see others happy so he still tries. Mentally you could compare Crunch-Back to a person with Autism at the low end of the spectrum. Saying or doing the wrong thing can set him off into a violent rage, which sadly is the truth of a great many people with autism at the low end of the spectrum. I myself am at the high end of the spectrum and I have known people at the high end of the spectrum that had similar symptoms. My best friend in highschool couldn't stand the sound of someone trying to breathe through a clogged nostril, and would get violently angry about it and accuse those who did it around him of deliberately trying to irritate him. Same guy was the Smartest, most well educated, and most gentlemanly guy I've ever met and that is saying something...

Ah, it's good that you've considered these things! 3nodding So many people forget a lot of basic things about character creation. I apologize if I seemed like a bit of a know-it-all. sweatdrop On the internet, it's difficult to gauge what other people are like and how much knowledge and experience they have in a given subject, especially if you've only just met them. I understand what it's like to not have the time or will to do a full write up. I've got three characters (more if you count the peripheral ones too), that have been lurking in my head for a couple of years now, and I've only ever done write ups for one of them! sad It doesn't help, either, that I'm really really bad at working out names for characters. So far I've only got Valkyr and Mack (which is a nick-name anyway); the rest are nameless. confused

I have a character who's alt mode is a hot rod red fast food truck. He's a fat pot bellied transformer who's favorite weapon is a pump action shotgun who's pellets are more like metal paint balls filled with boiling cooking oil. I took his name from his alt mode, his general fatness, and his favored weapon. I called him Pot-Shot. He's one of six fat autobot brothers who were identical hextuplets before they took on earth based alt modes. if you want help naming your characters, describe them to me, and I will try my best to give you a selection of names that could fit the characters.

While I had some passing exposure to the Transformers in my single digit years, it wasn't until my Junior year of high school and the premier of the first Bay movie that I really started into the Transformers world. Thanks to a couple friends of mine insisting, I went to see the film, and almost immediately fell in love with the concept, if not the film itself, and immediately dove in headfirst to fully appreciate the long, illustrious history behind giant alien transforming robots.
My personal favorites to have come about from the Transformers world are the Transformed Animated and Transformers Prime series, though I also have a soft spot for G1 and the first/fourth Bay movies. I just recently started getting into the comic due to the More Than Meets The Eye series and Humble Bundle having had a Transformers sale that included the entire story arc of the Lost Light, which I am currently catching up on.
