"Keep searching! There's still one out here!" A gruff voice shouted. The owner was a soldier stationed fifty yards from the gate. He had a stout build, but his size wasn't taken easily. The men he was shouting at ran frantically through the dense streets of the broken city, searching for the elusive mutant. It was smart, it was fast. They would be lucky to catch it at all.

Inside the compound, three lonesome soldiers searched the grounds. They were ordered not to harm anything but the mutant they were assigned to scout for, but they were not turning up any results.
"Nothing here. How you holding up Scott?" one asked through a transceiver.
"Nothing. Damien, how's your end?" No answer. "Damien?" Still nothing.
The first soldier grunted. "Damien, if you don't answer us this second, we'll-ulp!" The soldier's voice seemed cut off from something.
Scott seemed baffled. "Rick?" No answer. "Rick, come in." same thing. The soldier readied his rifle in case whatever snared his comrades might come for him. He whipped around in all directions, trying to spot it beforehand. He was trigger-happy, and he loved himself for it, because dealing with mutants was always dangerous, no matter their size or abilities. Cautiously, he stepped through the foliage, eyes darting left and right. He'd find this thing before it found him.
A blast of webbing was shot from a tree behind the soldier, and before he could react, the webbing wrapped around him. H struggled against it, but it was futile. This stuff was strong.
Rachele dropped down from the canopies to claim her prize. She walked over to the soldier, and as he looked up at her with fear in his eyes, she simply said. "Too easy You guys make it no fun." she added some webbing to the bindings before dragging him off. "Don't worry, you'll meet your friends soon.

As the doors slid open with a hiss, Rachele was greeted by one of Derek's assistants, who, coincidentally, was carrying Derek in a tank.
"Another prize Rachele?" he asked calmly.
"Three, actually. I left the other two outside until they were all captured."
Derek nodded as best he could. "Well, gather them up, and we'll send them to Daryl once you do."
"Got it!" With that, Rachele hurried out, and a short time later, brought the others in.

"So three new ones?" Daryl asked. "Names?"
"Rick Hansen, Scott Smith, and Damien Montalvo." Rachele pointed to each soldier as she said their names. "They got a little too close to our creature comforts."
"Any news from your bait?" Daryl began to go to his own attendants, telling them to get the syrum ready.
Rachele shook her head. "Caitlyn's skilled at running, and always manages to return. Any soldiers, as you know, will be dealt with at my hand. Or web."
"Thank you, you may go Rachele."

Rachele caught back up with Derek as his assistant began heading back towards the Aquatic Block. She told him of the updates, and promptly headed back out to go find Caitlyn. Down the long halls, his assistant skittered over a long beam, one of five, before entering the next section of the block, which branched out to make pathways to the other beams. On either side were tanks filled with water and various sea-themed decorations, like coral huts and miniature pirate ships. A second assistant met Derek before pushing a button on a small panel once the assistant carrying him had reached the small platform. It rose up to the top of the tank, and they proceeded to submerge Derek's portable tank in the larger one. He leapt out, splashing in the larger tank as the assistants went back to their own business.

As they passed, two golden eyes from a small coral formation followed their movement. Blinking once, the eyes peeked further out, revealing a head of striking red hair compared to the rest of this subject's complexion. Her skin was a light blue, and as she moved completely out, eight teal-colored tentacles that resembled a squid's sprouted from her back, as a mermaid tail made up her lower half. "Michelle wants to be carried too..." she said to herself. As she moved closer to the two people that were leaving this section, she remained cautious, which was an unusual instinct of hers. She had seen them pass many times, but still, for some reason, she felt afraid. "Michelle wants to leave this place too..." perhaps it was because she always saw them carry a repulsive-looking fish that she longed to see the world outside of this tank.

Sighing, she swam around the tank to while away the time. The others didn't seem to be out, and she didn't want to bother them. She sat on top of her own house, thinking for a moment. Could she ask to get out, even just once? Maybe when the people came back, she'd give it a try. For now, she would remain bored.

It paced back and forth, on all fours. It COULD walk on two legs, if it wanted to. But no, not right now... No, Susannah didn't want to walk on two legs. It just wasn't as safe. She took long strides, dragging her clawed forepaws across the metal floor. It made a sound that could be akin to nails on a chalkboard. However, she liked that sound. It made her feel a little better, but not for long... Suddenly, without warning, the creature's dark pink fur was ruffled up in spikes. She howled angrily and broke into a sprint, slamming herself into the nearest wall with violent force. "Br---eak, burr..." The sentence was garbled, mangled. Susannah trailed off, growling a little as she slumped down. She was very angry, but she didn't know why. Sometimes she just felt angry or very sad, not very happy ever though. Stretching out flat on her stomach, she inspected her large paws as she flexed them. They were very sharp, she knew that. She often used them to cut her hair, when she was feeling upset. But her hair always grew back really fast...

Her eyes glazed over for a moment, and her ears went flat against her skull. What was she doing again? Sitting up and looking around, she blinked. Susannah had completely lost her train of thought, again. Overcome with sadness, she screeched as loud as she could and started to cry, tears streaming from her bright red eyes. "Wha---at! Waw-at..." She was not sure what she'd been doing. Not sure at all. But there was not much to do in here. Oh but... Maybe she wanted to break out? Yes, that was what she wanted to do! She remembered now. Tail wagging fast, she looked around. Then she spotted it. The door. She didn't remember how to open doors, but her door was always locked because she was so unstable. She howled in a happy tone and bounded at it, throwing herself against it full force. She'd broken the door many times. She knew that it just took a while! And then she would be out, and very happy and free for a little bit until they replaced the door. She herself did not know how to count anymore, but during her stay, she'd broken the door about 10 times. They'd tried making it stronger, but it would only take longer to break it. She'd been working at destroying this new door for a while now, and it was paying off well.

The metal was bent, and upon close inspecting, the hinges were starting to break. She was so close! Panting with excitement and triumph, the pink haired mutant ran back and rammed the door once more, she felt it give away. But she was not out yet... Once more! She ran all the way to the opposite wall of the door and took a running leap. She hit the door with full force and was out once more. Now, unsure of what to do, she sat down. Then, Susannah remembered. How silly, she was, for forgetting things so often... She was going to run around. Just run around. Barking at the top of her lungs, she took off down the hallway shouting, "KA-IWIS!" Meaning, kiwis. She wasn't sure what she was talking about but it just seemed like a good moment to shout. As she ran down the hall- on all fours, as always- She slammed into as many doors as she could. She liked the banging noise it made.

It had been a while since Anna heard the soldiers inside the compound. She herself had turned invisible, while still protecting herself with her protruded spines. She was curled up under a large bush, head down and her mantis arms covering it. Although she was blind in her human eyes, she had learned to use the insect-like eyes given to her on the top of her head to see, which made it weird, because it always felt like she was looking through a piece of glass that seemed sectioned, as the same image repeated itself, almost like a kaleidoscope. She couldn't blink with these working eyes, only her human ones, unfortunately.
Sensing the coast was clear, she stood up, revealing her true form, though hunched over. If she was standing straight, she'd be about seven feet tall. Retracting her golden spines, which many scientists assumed was once her hair, she cautiously stepped through the bushes. Every now and then, she'd make sort of a clicking sound with her tongue, a technique she used to get her bearings, similar to a bat's echolocation. Once she knew where everything was, she moved towards the Avian Block's Ground Level exterior. The mass of trees didn't exactly help, since they were so tightly packed, and she kept receiving multiple signals, scrambling her sense of direction. Wandering past it, she clicked her tongue again, but found some movement going on. How far was it? Forty, no, try again. Fifty. Yeah, fifty yards. The first was a familiar figure, spiderlike in appearance. A second was much smaller, as she heard it running across the dead grass. Anna squatted down, ready to defend herself if she had to.
And it seemed she did, as a squad of soldiers came rushing after the smaller person, a few guns blaring. The larger seemed to act, its movements odd, and suddenly one of the soldiers was down and pulled close, bound by something. The soldier, as she figured out, was then held upright, and the figure seemed to lean close to it. Anna had judged by now the figure was Rachele, one of the lead scientists here, so the smaller must be Caitlyn. The soldiers paused, as if hesitating for something. Rachele must be using the soldier she caught as hostage; it was the only explanation. Knowing a steady opponent to the soldiers was on the scene, Anna felt a little safer, so she crept forward, trying to make as little noise as possible. She'd take to the skies, but it was too risky now. She stepped closer, and began hearing voices, but one soldier turned and quickly fired in her direction!
Instincively, Anna curled up and protruded her spines, ready for the blow. The bullet grazed one of her spines, but it didn't do much more. Quickly looking up, she heard the soldier walk away, followed by the others, though Rachele kept the one she caught with her webbing, as it had seen too much. Why the others left, Anna had no idea, but she was able to wander without being shot at now. Jumping slightly, she fluttered her wings at a high rate, which produced a slight humming sound, fluttering over the bushes and heading up into the canopy. She had to watch out for Rachele's webbing, as it didn't register on her radar.

William look up at the sky and he thought back to a simpler time when his life wasn't so contained and more fun. He missed waking up and playing guitar in the morning then hanging with his friends all day, listening to good music, and going to band practice on his weekends. He found it ironic that his life use to be free and now he's in a contained environment in some lab somewhere being some test subject.

William then stated to walking around this environment wanting to brake free from this forsaken place changed his life. He began to feel angered and charged at the wall hoping for it to brake not caring about harming his body or himself. He began to hit the wall repeatedly until the metal started to crack. Williams then began ripping open the cracked part of the wall, his hands bled as he bent open the crack, and quietly began walking out. He wished he never did this in the first place and jest wanted to return back home. He looks up and see's a vent and sneakingly climes into it.

From the vent William sow guards running down the hall they stop when they sow the hole in the wall and started investigating surcharging for were William ran of to. They look around then decide to split up as the both run down separate hall ways to different sectors of the lab contacting other guards telling them that someone might have escaped. William smiled from the vent knowing that he's one step closer to freedom even though he knew his life will never be the same again.

Hands hurting body aching William began calmly and quietly moving though the vents hoping it leads outside. William looked down though the vents every so often noticing more and more guards roaming the halls. He thought to himself "I would hate to be down there right now" and hoped he wouldn't get caught as he moved though the dark vent.

Anyarah woken from her nightmare but her nightmare was real. She got up and looked around before laying back onto the ground. Her eyes fall back down and slept some more. Dreaming about her life with her parents again before the night of their death. Aroma of her favorite food surrounding the house, brids cherpping from a tree near the backyard, and neighber's dog barking.
After while she woke up again sighing then throw her hand on the ground. Then she stops holding her legs when she heard the footsteps and stranged voices. She tryed to clam herself humming a lullaby after words fell asleep again dreaming.

A foreboding red glare moved along the surface of the room as alarms blared just beyond the secured door of apartment block A28. The occupant. One. Adam fielding. Arose from his would be nap drowsily as a fresh batch of curiosity poured its way into the epicenter of his mind. Something was wrong, but he could not quite understand what. In fact, the lights seemed more appealing to watch rather then to question. However, the noise wasn't all that welcomed.

Getting to his feet the mutated individual took a moment to check his surroundings. The room he had been assigned was barely visible to the naked eye, thanks to the current lack of light. But, this did not hinder Adam as his mutations were feline in nature. To clarify, he contained Tiger DNA.

Among the accommodation essential for a person, like a bathroom and bed. He also owned items to keep his mind entertained, like books and some toys here or there. During his usual examinations and tests for the lab however, he found it quite exhausting to play afterwards and often enjoyed just being lazy on the bed.

“Dammit! Inform the staff, I want these two entire sections locked down. Now!” Ears perking to the sounds of life beyond his walls, Adam crept closer to the door of his room and observed what was happening past the small two way viewing port situated upon it. Outside, a small group of uniformed mutated individuals gathered with looks of frustration clear upon what faces could contort and tranquilizer rifles locked and loaded, it was obvious they meant business.

A burly shark-man barked orders to that of his current troop as a number of others jogged past in pursuit of whatever was causing the disturbance. Adam couldn't make out all that was spoken but judging by what he could piece together, two recent trouble makers had yet again broken out of their rooms and were causing a ruckus for the facility.

“Sir! According to some recent reports apparently one's in the vents and another is just...running around having fun...” A Dinosaur or at least what appeared to be a dinosaur had arrived relaying recent news. News the Shark-man didn't like one bit. “Uh..alright! Well you have your orders, remember! Don't exceed the tranquilizer dosage, or they die! And I have to file a report and I hate having to file a report! Now move out!”

Adam watched as the team jogged out of sight before heading over to the foot of his bed and siting down. There was nothing he could do as the situation didn't seem lost, so he wasn't needed. But still, he wanted to help. Just like he had helped in the past.

Looking to his tail he eyed the item tied to it with interest, he had once been told about its name from a small female scientist who happened to be curious of his abilities during his first days here. She was small, very small and seemed to flutter about in a fast manner, often bumping into things. But regardless, he remembered her words well, “a.. Dog Tag?”

After running a small while and slamming into several doors- breaking a few- Susannah had had enough. She had had enough of exploring... She wanted to go home. Only, say, 40 feet from her door, she hadn't gone far. But the mutant was an impetuous, capricious beast. So, she turned around and ran back to her room, tail twitching. She felt a random spike in emotion, and tears went streaming down her face as she walked in, stepping over the remains of the door. Ears flat against her head, Susannah crawled into her favorite corner, the left one on the furthest wall from the door. She had enough sense to know that every single time she broke out, people were sent out after her. Usually, it was her two favorite guards- both female. Susannah was always nice for them, and did not usually need to get the weird shot... But sometimes they sent men after her... That always ended with a shot, the thingy that made her fall asleep.

But that would not happen today, hopefully. She'd gone back into her room, to be good maybe. Susannah wished that she could go out without people being mean... It did not work though... Because there were men out there, and they did not stay away, they did not go away when she growled at them. No, not at all. So, instead, she would have to attack them. Susannah didn't realize it, but that was why she couldn't be outside safely. She was too dangerous and too unpredictable to be out. Though she didn't think of her attacks as such, they were often unprovoked. Someone would look at her wrong and she would run away or attack. Girl? She'd back away a little. Boy? She would go for the throat... Just a complete liability. Nothing dangerous right now though. The wolf-horse mutant was sleeping, actually. Curled up comfortably in her corner. She probably would wake up soon though. Susannah was just... Weird... Broken in the mind, and a creature of impulse... Those two added with the fact that she was basically built for killing and attacking? It was amazing that she hadn't been euthanized or something yet. Perhaps it was because her hate was one-sided. All on males, though she was hostile to female strangers as well. But whatever. She wasn't out of her room anymore, so she wasn't as dangerous. As long as no one was stupid enough to wake her up, they'd be fine.

Michelle floated up near the top of the tank. It was something she did unconsciously, really, as it happened every time she fell asleep out of her house. Small bubbles rose from her mouth as she snored, and although none of the residents in her little slice of Heaven or Hell paid it much attention, unless they felt like waking her up, the higher-ups were another matter. Usually she'd find a face she never saw before if she woke up when they were still around, but many presumed her to be dead. If they'd pay more attention and not be so quick to judge, she could sleep in peace.
A loud thumping from somewhere seemed to rattle the water, and in turn, her, waking with a start and flailing around shortlybefore spotting two individuals. One whom she had seen before was holding the other's hand, as if trying to keep it down. It must have been this other person that had thumped on the tank. Although she was usually calm and timid, she hated being woken up like that, and swam viciously over to see this person, raising a fist. "Michelle just wants some peace and quiet! Don't ignorant people like you get it?" Her voice seemed muffled thanks to the glass of the tank. "Now let Michelle sleep! What if Michelle banged on your head?" Satisfied with her rant, she gave the person a stern glance, and in doing such, found out he had some fish in him. But since he was outside, it didn't make sense to the mermaid girl. Unless he was being dropped off?
"Let's go Drake," the first said, turning to leave, "it seems the natural wildlife doesn't like to be disturbed."
"Okay mom."
Mom? altough the word was faint through the glass, and moreso in the water, Michelle still caught wind of it. She swam over to her coral house before laying just inside the door. She rested her head in her hands and sighed. Mom. The word just struck something inside her. She couldn't remember it, but she didn't even let her stepfather and mothr know about this. Michelle must be poor daughter...

Adam Fielding continued to sit puzzled over the item tied near the end of his tail. Though he had no real reason of why these “Dog Tags” were placed here, he did acknowledge the fact that he had been the one to do it. Clenching a fist, he growled under his breath before emitting a loud primal roar as he searched though his mind for any semblance of a clue as to why?

“Ah! Why can't I see it? What was I before this?” Frustratedly, he read over the information pertaining to the tag once more and though he had done this numerous times in the past, nothing came of it besides his full name, blood type and religion. He wanted to understand, no, he needed to understand. Yet no matter how hard he tried he never got any closer.

No, it wasn't because it was impossible to get any closer or anything like that. It was simple do to the fact that he got too afraid of getting any closer. Like, if he did find the entire truth he would harm others thanks to it. So, he found it best to shy away, especially from those who seemed likely to answer him.

Sighing, Adam removed the item from his view, choosing to instead direct his attention at the door once more as the silhouette of a figure appeared beyond it. With a few quick beeps and clicks the door slide open and a very familiar face stepped in. “Oh my, seems like you've been bothering yourself with “that” again haven't you Adam? How many times have I told you not to worry so much. Its just a trinket, nothing more.”

The man that spoke held his composure well, his tone was kind and his expression contained a concerned look that spoke only about how he could help. Adam gazed upon him as a son would to his father eager to prove him proud, “Dr. Eden...”

Unlike most of the science team of Lab 16, Dr. James M. Eden had mutated differently from the rest of his colleagues. Managing to successfully maintain his human form up to 90% while also gaining the ability of flight thanks to two extravagant avian wings protruding from his back. Giving him, an angelic appearance compared to those with more unusual results.

With a gentle smile upon his face, Eden adjusted his spectacles before looking to the clipboard in his left hand. “Now, I know there is a lock down in progress. However such things can not set us back from your usual tests and examinations Adam, so if you would, please follow me.”

Anna sliced through another web after running into it first. She was thankful she had sharp hands. She hated how she wasn't able to see them. Her clicks must go right through the webs, was her only guess. "Hate. Webs." she uttered. "Don't Rachele. Hate. Webs."
Breaking through the canopies, she saw her entire world fold out before her, but it was quite scary, so she dove back under. The compound was her only home right now, and with the soldiers roaming outside, it was far too dangerous to roam outside. On the other hand, she was safe as long as she didn't explore too much.
Clinging onto a branch, as she only cut through the leaves with her sharp hands, Anna poked her head out as best she could. Many strange buildings were seen, organized in such a way that passage was capable between them. Then there was the Concrete Vista just south of the compound. She heard something about it from the others, but couldn't remember what. But it was those stranger buildings that seemed to lay everywhere. It was then she remembered she could turn invisible. She didn't know why, but it was an ability she discovered when she passed by a pool and saw her reflection, which she was scared by at first. With that in mind, she hovered just over the heights of the compound, her wings humming like they usually did, which reminded her she couldn't fly near the soldiers. She'd have to walk, and be careful not to bump into anything. If she was seriously considering exploring the world outside the compound, she'd need an ally, in case she was found out. She doubted she'd make it back alive.
Then again, looking at it now, perhaps it was better to just stay in, where it was safe. And still, there was the intrusion that flashed through her mind. If soldiers could get inside that easily, if to scout or to invade, was anything safe anymore? "Screw. Leave. Another day." she flew back below the canopies, circling around the higher floors of the Avian Block before sittin on the roof of the ground level.

The trip to the medical block seemed more bustling with life then average. As many faces past too and fro busy with their own situations, Adam felt even more valuable then ever. Though he had been to this section of the facility numerous times, he had never arrived during a lock down.

With his keen senses picking up everything and anything that happened near, more often then not, the resulting fear, forced him to cower behind Dr. Eden out of instinct. Eden, had gotten use to this by now and often paid no mind to Adam's little “episodes” since it was of little hindrance to him and his work. But regardless, he felt it necessary to reassure the mutated feline's safety.

“Now now Adam, there's nothing to be afraid of here. We are perfectly safe, besides, your more capable out of the two of us at combat. Don't you remember how you handled that little “incident” a few weeks back in the very lower sections of the apartment blocks?” Oh, Adam remembered, he remembered quite well what had happened there; just the thought of what that “thing” had done to those security guards was enough to give him a little more courage to confront his ridiculous fear about being near other scientists besides Eden.

Passing a number of medical wings and proceeding deeper into the medical block, Adam eventually arrived at the test and examination labs. An area of the block that helped maintain the wellness and health of the patients in Lab 16.

Punching in a few keys and sliding an I.D. card through a security slot, Eden motioned for Adam to step inside where a number of rooms awaited. “Now, I know your doing well and the mutagen has been adjusting perfectly to your DNA, quite beyond usual parameters in fact, but precautions must be maintained. You don't want to know what happened to those subjects who's bodies didn't take well to the introduction of the alterations. Also, your memory loss is something that concerns me too.”

Adam understood completely about the horrible disfiguring dangers that came with mutations. A fact that still bothered him and how he managed to slip by so far without a hitch. However without a “hitch” was a stretch considering he did suffer major memory loss resulting in his current amnesia.

Marking down a few notes upon his clipboard, Eden guided Adam to the first room which had been equipped to test his heart rate and motor functions. Carefully, Adam situated upon the large treadmill in the room and attached the monitoring equipment to points along his body with the help of the doctor before standing in wait for his signal to begin. “Alright Adam, you know the drill, we'll start off slow and then ease into pace. Remember, this is not a marathon.”
