Surprise. The word was definitely surprise and Nora almost forgot to stand at attention. Of course, she did not forget. That would have looked bad and she did, almost stumbling, come to attention as the young man stepped upon the podium.
Nora glanced around to see how the others were reacting. General Pryor seemed as calm and effortless as ever. Did nothing phase that man? She wondered if she would one day be as reserved as he was.

Commander TridentMarine Commander --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trident cocked his eye brow towards the young boy at the front of the room. He turned and faced him snapping to attention, going from being with an old war body to lean mean fighting machine seriousness.
"Attention!"
The tall muscular Marine, shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice loud and booming, calling the rest of the room to attention. He did not salute because it was inside. He had his fair share of his "green" young commanders during his time so he was not shocked at all.

The rest of the aircrew stands at the doorway don't know what to do while the commanding officer's presence, then Lightning arrives. He enters the room before the rest of the aircrew enter, and salutes to the one at the front of the room, he then order the rest of the aircrew with a word "Stand-fast!" (A term used to have the members of the room to either sit-fast or stand at attention and face the person who is the commandant of the room). as he is entering a briefing room with a commanding officer in it. He did not surprise with the age of Aingel, as he is at the same age as he is. He keeps his hands up for a salute until he is given an instruction to sit easy. At this stage, the room is covered with mostly Marines and Army, while he doesn't see an Air Force personal at all beside himself and his aircrew.

 Colonel Artyom
Artyom had walked in a bit late due to the wound he had on his shoulder which had made the Medic pull him from the helo once they got back to base and in turn gave him a wrapping to keep the wound clean and his arm from moving. He then got next to Nora seeing the kid up on stage he then elbowed Nora softly "Let me guess that is Arch himself" he whispered to her as he sat down next to her looking at everyone from the mission.

It was easy to recognize Colonel Artyom as he came beside her. He had helped Nora onto the Helo back on the island; not to mention that he was a superior officer and it was best to keep up with who was who. She was surprised that he sat beside her and not beside General Pryor; though because Artyom was late, it was mostly likely easiest to sneak into the back where she was.
Nora was still looking at at Commander Aingel when Artyom nudge her. She nodded slightly and whispered back, "Yes, that is him." She looked a bit more towards the Colonel to see if he looked surprised at all by the age of their Commander.

Jimmy Cross DLCCN Admiral Jimmy responds to Trident.
"Yeah... It wasn't the best first mission. A little more Coordination and prep could help. And the Canoe Club? It's holding up great.. I'm working on getting us golden Oars with foam handles."
Jimmy said seriously at first, and added the jubliant spin on the end. He returned to his seat, as the commander entered. He didn't notice Aingel, until Trident barked "Attention."
Jimmy snapped into a crisp salute, but he searched the room for a Commanding Officer. Some Brass guy, a big whig looking fellow. None. Just a boy placed behind the podium. Was this a joke? Or was this job not worth the pay. Was he in to be some kid's playthings? He stayed patient, the rest of the clues would pop out eventually.

And when he gets to Heaven,to Saint Peter he will tell... Aingel looked over his men, noting with some surprise himself tha most of them were taking it quite well. Sure his Naval Commander was giving him a confused scowl, and Artyom seemed unsure of what to make of him, bur other than that, everyone was standing at attention, waiting for him to speak. He smiled, and spoke, his voice soft and quiet, yet it held that edge of authority that was heard over the radio during the mission, as well as a slight Irish accent. "At ease. Its good to see you all here. I was going to wait for a few more people, but I believe we may start now. Let's see...." He rifled through the papers on the podium before selecting the one he needed. "Ah, yes, Here we are. Results. At 4400 hours, the mission was declared accomplished, with moderate losses. Admiral Cross, what were the naval losses?" He looked at Cross expectantly, symbols seen flowing over his cybernetic eyes. "One more soldier reporting, sir. I've served my time in Hell."

Trident relaxed himself and took a seat, saving a set for the Admiral, the two of them go way way back farther then he could remember. He remained silent in his seat keeping his eyes trained on the Commander. He kept his other sense trained on the surrounding area just in case something where to happen.

She was glad to sit at the Commanders orders. It was hard not to stare as Nora saw something flicker across Aingel's eyes. She was too far in the back to see that it was Cybernetics. However, it was not unheard of having robotic parts and the usage and was growing in today's society with the technological advances racing ahead. She listened intently now as it was explained when the mission was completed and that the losses were moderate. It was a shame that the losses were not minimal. The attention soon turned to Admiral Cross now for his input.

 Brigadier General Thomas Pryor
Thomas watched the small boy begin talking to the crowed of older, more experienced members. The kid was handling this situation like a pro. Thomas was going over the kids physical attributes, when he noticed something in the kid’s eyes. It raised certain questions but answered how the kid had managed to be so good in a plane at his age. Thomas didn’t care about the Navy’s report so he just watched Aingel’s eyes. They were entertaining to watch, and Thomas needed something to keep his attention.

Lightning II Air Vice Marshal Location: Briefing Room Objective: Daydream
Lightning chooses a seat all the way at the back, next to the door. As Lightning sits down with the rest of the crew, he pulls out his wingman's dogtags, and rather paying full attention to him, while rest of his crew have their attention on the Naval Commander, Rear Admiral Crossed. Lightning did not bother listening to other's report, but just to prepare what he has to say when he might suddenly be asked couple of questions.

╔══════════════╗ ∞ Kage "Jet" Tsu ∞ ╚══════════════╝ Kage walked into the meeting room and took a seat, hearing the tail end of the boy's words. With the way he was treated in the room it was safe to say that he was someone important, but Kage would not ask who. Grabbing a seat towards the back of the room Kage sat down, his eyes drifting over the people in the room as he listened for the answer to the boy's question. It wouldn't surprise Kage now to find out that the boy was indeed Aingel.

Jimmy Cross DLCCN Admiral Debrief
Jimmy settled down from the salute at the words, "At ease." His shoulders slumped to normal heights, and he straightened his dress whites. He cleared his throat and began to speak. He wrung his cover in his hands. Instead of facing the young man alone, he faced part of the room. So they all could see, and hear what he had to say. He did plenty of public speaking at the academy, so this should be simple. But the fear of being blamed for war casualties still burned at the back of his mind. It was why he was here, and not commanding a fleet for the US.
"Gentlemen," He started, seeing a single female in the group he added, "Ma'am"
"After the point the Army was sent landside to clear the island of tangos, a submersive vessel appeared on sonar, with malicious intent. Moments after appearing it unleashed a hail of conventional missles onto the four frigates deployed at the time. Leonardo, Michealango, Raphael, and Gabriel were all hit. Only the Micheal, had severe damages. Men were tossed overboard and fire erupted in the lower decks. Columns of smoke appeared from the center of the ship, and I feared we'd lost her. Right Away the rest of the Frigates returned fire, and repelled most of the attack, and elminated the threat. With the sub gone, Micheal down, Gabriel and Leo came in and scooped up survivors and put out the flames.
"At the end of the day 53 men were confirmed dead, and 67 wounded. Only three from the other vessels. The rest were from the ship, Micheal. The ship survived, barely. She is undergoing clean-up and repair down at the 'Lick'."
The Lick was the nickname for the Island most Sea Based operations and trainings occured. It was the location of the Navy's Head Quarters. It had a landingstrip as well. Jimmy scanned the room, eyeing the survivors. Not as many as he thought. He figured this was an officers only deal.
"Deck officers, and fellow Sailors alike who aren't working on the repairs are writing the letters home. Although the mission was a success, there are engineering problems, and the great loss we suffered here today. I recommend we end the brief in prayer, but we'll get there. Aingel, sir, without needing to explain your age or odd appearance, you should be able to recognize the great cost in life we had today, and the severity of damages to the ship and crew of the Micheal."
Jimmy not getting anything from the group, nodded and sat back down next to Trident. His head hung low. The mission while will be remembered to some as a success was a failure to Cross. He'd put on a happy facade later on that night, but the great losses would hang with him the rest of his career here. Just like all the rest of Sailors he'd let down back in the United States.
With God always being a part of his life, one would think he'd be able to move on. But he couldn't. Each and every man he'd served with was important to him. Each was special and had their own tales to tell. Each had families and friends. People to care for them. Love. Love those families had to live without for the rest of their lives. Possibly at the fault of his own. He hated it. But he continues to serve, for the ones still out there. Not for glory, money, or the deceased. But to fight for those fighting.

 Brigadier General Thomas Pryor
Thomas may not have paid attention to the beginning of his speech, but he certainly caught the end. He felt it was always respectful, even though he was not a believer in any faith himself, to say prayers for the fallen. He would say a prayer, not only for the men from the Navy but for his men and for the enemy to. He felt that no one should have to endure the pains of what each religion offered as a hell. Once he raised his head he turned his attention to Aingel. He focused on his eyes again, they still entertained him.

When Admiral Cross began to speak, it came as no surprise for him to address the group as gentlemen. In fact, when he said 'Ma'am", Nora was certain her heart about jumped out of her chest and it was all she could do not to feel almost pinpointed. She knew this was not the case and he was just being polite. There were surprisingly few woman, she found, in the DLCC. She expected to be a minority but not quite at this level.
All attention turned back to Admiral Cross. He certainly did have a lot to add. Nora had not known the full specs before, what with coming in the second wave. The losses had been greater than she realized and her heart went out to the troops lost and to their families. There was always a chance of danger in the missions and she never gave thought to the consequences and how they might affect her own family. If Nora thought on that, she would never make it into a mission. She would never have made it this far. There most certainly would not been a future.
Nora agreed completely that they should end the brief in a prayer, when it came time. For now her attention went back to Commander Aingel.
