But who was the one to decide which was which? Who was the one who could say that someone was wrong or right? Taru had never been one to know any of that. He knew what he'd done in the past was considered wrong. Hell he knew that some of the things he did now was considered wrong. He even knew that some of it really was wrong. But, there was one thing that he knew was right.
He walked around the corner of the alley to see the odd young red head sitting on top of the dumpster with coffee in his hand. Taru smiled faintly and walked up snapping his fingers. Though he couldn't hear the sound he felt it resonate up his arm and out towards Jackel. He waved after getting the other man's attention and walked up to him. Taking the coffee.
This was his right thing. Jackel wasn't some test subject, he was a person. Taru was his friend. They were thick as thieves...and Jackel was a damn good thief. Taru signed with his hands a quick greeting to the masked man and then jumped up to sit next to him. Letting his head rest on the soft green fabric of the jacket that Jackel was wearing. Keeping his head on the man's shoulder. He grinned and took a sip of his coffee. CODY P. CALLOWAYThe apartments weren't exactly cheap, but they weren't fancy either. The walls were thin enough that if someone was loud enough you could hear everything they said. And well, Cody's neighbor had a guest who's voice carried very easily. A young girl it seemed, she came over often, Cody could guess that it was a student. But, why guess. She'd spoken to Gabriel before and learned that the girl's name was Jayy Monroe and she was someone he mentored. Cody had been offered a chance to mentor, but only with super vision. She wasn't the most stable person around.
As the voices died down finally Cody looked at the room around her. There were computers and phones and chords of all kinds, everywhere. They all buzzed to life and flickered back and forth. Yet her eyes didn't seem to watch the screens only the empty air between them. To other's there would be nothing there, to her though she could see it. Every single stream, every wave, every motion of data. From phone calls to wifi. Even stuff that wasn't in her own house. It was rather overloading, but she was able to concentrate on specific ones.
Sliding from her chair she moved to the kitchen and grabbed a large pack of cookies. She took out one and ate it before setting it on a tray. She was known for showing up at neighbors doors with snacks and things. She liked to be friendly. As she took a step a small kitten began following her. It's name was Shota. It hardly ever left her side.
She made it to Gabriel's door and knocked lightly. Shota let out a mewling noise and pawed at the door as if helping Cody draw attention. Cody could see different data flowing from this appartment. It was more complex and seemed to all be going towards one source. A rather complex phone by what she could tell.

Taru was brightly colored and easy to tell apart from others. He also had this attitude of not really caring what other's thought. Jackel liked that about him, but sometimes he wondered how long it would last. He'd fully admit he wasn't the most trusting person ever.
Letting Taru take the coffee he smirked behind the mask as he felt the weight on his shoulder. He reached over and patted Taru's head. They were good friends and Jackel was glad. He'd met Taru after the incident, it was an accidental meeting really. Now they did everything together, well everything they could. Jackel was normally lying low or going on a minor crime spree. Either way, he was just trying to keep himself alive. Taru was the only one who really understood it.
Taking his hands he began signing to his friend. "Good coffee?" Simple words really.[O H Y O U R M O U T H I S P O I S O N , Y O U R M O U T H I S W I N E]

[[ TETRA ]] [[ RUTHAFORD ]] The whole thing is electrical It's running through my veins And everything's connectable [[ IT'S ]] [[ MY ]] [[ DIGITAL ]] [[ WORLD ]] The whole thing's interchangeable A-wired up to my mind Where anything is capable The temperature in the room dropped making Tetra look up at Jayy. Gabriel was laughing and shaking ice off his hand. It seemed he had done something to make Jayy twitch, making her powers spike. Tetra didn't know if he just enjoyed pestering, or if he was a glutton for punishment. She was not one to question his teaching methods, though. As Jayy growled at her teacher, she smiled. Tetra knew Jayy was stubborn, so the challenge would only make the brown haired girl work harder. She watched Jayy try again, but her confidence soon turned to slight worry. Jayy looked like she was pumping an awful lot of power in to her work. Just then, Tetra's suspicions proved correct as Jayy's hydration monitor went off. Tetra worked quickly, grabbing a bottle of water out her back pack's side pocket. Jayy carried a similar bottle, but Tetra's pack was closer at hand. She came to stand in front of her partner. She stood strait and professional with a look on her face that was only worn on a mission for Judgement. "Jack Frost, your hydration level is below tolerance." she addressed Jayy using her mission name with a formal and even tone. She held out the bottle of water at Jayy. Tetra raised a field of static electricity and waited ten seconds. This was a ritualistic warning they used to ensure Jayy didn't over exert herself when on duty. Tetra would wait to see if Jayy would fix her water levels, and if not, Tetra had license to take action to stop Jayy from draining her self dry. The ten seconds came to an end and Tetra took a deep breath. "I will now intervene." She focused the low grade static field she had be gathering into a single bolt and sent it into the bowl of water. The electric shock broke Jayy's concentration, but didn't do any harm to her. All the same, Tetra's whole body jerked as if she had been the one shocked. She dropped to her knees and looked anxiously at Jayy babbling apologies. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, Jayy! You know I hate doing that, please don't hate me..."As Tetra's voice faded a soft knock sounded at the door. Tetra looked at Gabriel then over at the door and wondered which of them was going to have to answer it.

However there were a few things about Jayy that it were crystal clear. She was often one tracked mind when it came to challenges. So much so that she just muted everything out. From her ears and her eyes. She couldn't even see the blinking screen that was warning her about her hydration levels. She was too entangled in what she was trying (and failing) to do.
The only sign of the change was she was thirsty and could feel that point when her lips were so dry that they split slightly. She flinched at the sudden shock and nearly fell backwards. Her brain processed what had happened slowly. Then she noticed her watch, followed quickly by the bottle of water that was held out to her. Sighing she shook her head lightly at the whimpering Tetra. "Don't worry about it Tetra." She took the water gratefully and ruffled the girl's hair fondly. "You were right."
Draining the bottle in a long gulping drink she gasped for air. Taking the bottle off her belt she took another long drink. Draining her own bottle of water as well. Sighing heavily she looked at the pink haired girl and then to Gabriel. Jayy had completely missed the knock at the door.

Gabriel Matthew Gabriel looked at Jayy "Sit," he said, the voice of both a teacher and a friend, and handed her yet another water bottle. He looked her in the eyes and she was able to see a flash of something... complicated. Some might equate it with the same look that tight-knit siblings might give each other, when they aren't trying to kill each other, or maybe of a true couple. It was hard to tell, because there was the hint at both. "We are going to take a break and then afterwards get back to it." He then turned to the door with a slight smile "Come on in Cody!" he hollered to his neighbor.

[[ TETRA ]] [[ RUTHAFORD ]] The whole thing is electrical It's running through my veins And everything's connectable [[ IT'S ]] [[ MY ]] [[ DIGITAL ]] [[ WORLD ]] The whole thing's interchangeable A-wired up to my mind Where anything is capable Tetra looked up as Jayy grabbed the bottle and drained it. She was glad to feel the other girl rustle her hair. It meant that they were all good. Part of Tetra's shyness had been her former friends reactions to her developing powers. One bad accidental shock, and suddenly no one wanted to be around her anymore. Since then she had hidden herself behind technology and built artificial companions. She was still wary of people abandoning her. "I'm glad your okay." she spoke softly to Jayy. Gabriel was calling for a break and for someone named Cody to come on in. Moko perked up since the danger had apparently passed. "Moko will help open the door!" he spoke and scampered off towards the knocking sound. When he got there the task seemed a bit more daunting than previously expected. "...Maybe not..."Tetra finally cracked smile at Moko's antics. Suddenly she remembered she had made and left some sandwiches in the kitchen. "Oh gosh!" she exclaimed. "I totally forgot to tell you I made sandwiches. I didn't think you would mind.... " she sighed and just walked into the kitchen to retrieve said food. She decided she would see if Gabriel's guest was hungry before she just made another sandwich. She placed the forgotten food into a pile and carried them into the main room. She pulled a clean cloth out of her backpack and spread it out on the table before setting the sandwiches down on top. "Moko, come away from the door. You'll get hit." she called to the robot who just jumped out of range of the door but still waited to greet whoever entered.

CODY P. CALLOWAYCody had gotten a little distracted. She was busy looking at the code that flew back and forth. She leaned her head back curiously watching. If she wanted to be a busy body she could focus on one and start reading what was going on. However she was happy just watching the streams for now. It was enough to just watch them all mushing together in the air, weaving back and forth, and then exploding in more streams.
However the mewling at her feet caught her attention. Followed by Gabriel's voice calling her in. She blinked and nodded with a soft smile. Carefully opening the door she let Shota in first. He galloped into the apartment and stopped short. Staring at the odd white creature who was near the door. Shota meowed loudly and nudged the creature before purring and rubbing it's cheek against it.
Cody looked directly at the strange creature. Suddenly spacing out as she looked at the multiple streams of data. "....Phone...." She muttered a little surprised that it looked so living and was so complex. However she remembered where she was and quickly looked up at the three inside the apartment. "Hey Gabriel, I hope I'm not disturbing. I had extra cookies from my last baking fit..." She held up the tray with lots of cookies on it and tilted her head lightly to the side. Her large eyes looking a little distant.

Gabriel Matthew Gabriel turned to Tetra and nodded "I don't mind at all. In fact-" he glanced at Jayy "Best that we all have something before we continue." He then smiled at Cody, opening his arms in a welcoming gesture "Cody, you know that you are always welcome to bring foodstuffs over. Just because I work in food service doesn't mean that I don't enjoy food. In fact you came at a perfect time." he gave Jayy a pointed look "We were just starting to take a break" He flopped down on the floor, honestly happy to have people over...though there was a part of him that wished that only one was there. He hid this internal desire behind a smile. "If anyone wants their sandwich toasted through just let me know."

So we can stay together till' hell, Starts To FreezeAnd I'd like to show you and make you see, That although were diffrent typesWe Were Meant To Be. With another bottle offered to her by Gabriel she frowned lightly but took it gratefully. She was still dry as a desert. Her little hydration monitor had stopped flashing but she was still only at about half hydration. Sighing she began drinking the water, slower this time. She hated the fact she couldn't control her power. Though she hated the fact that she had done such a pathetic display in front of her partner and mentor. God she felt so stupid.
Taking the water bottles, that were now empty; to the kitchen she refilled them. When she came back there was someone new in the apartment. Well two new people. That and Tetra now had sandwiches. Oh god Jayy was hungry. Without a word she suddenly plopped down to sit on the floor and devour a sandwich. New person could be introduced later. Right now, water and food. Missing the looks that she got from Gabriel.
Jayy finished half her sandwich in two bites, washed it down with water and then hugged Tetra. "You are my angel of savior!!!!" She ruffled the girl's hair and then let her go. Going back to her water and food she waved to the new girl half heartedly with a small. "Yo!" As her greeting.

CODY P. CALLOWAYShota was happily busy with the small -creature- phone. Forcing Cody to step around the two things and towards the table. She watched her cat a brief moment and then gave a sweet smile. At least he was having fun already. Perhaps it would keep him out of trouble? Maybe. It was certainly amusing to watch if nothing else.
Setting the cookies down next to the sandwiches she followed Gabriels glance to the young woman with short brown hair. Recieving a greeting she nodded her head and smirked. "I have good timing then." She sat down on the other side of Gabriel across from the pink haired girl. There was a rainbow of data streams around her and some of them even flowed over to the other girl. This worked to draw Cody's attention from the food and the people as she began following them with her eyes.
Remembering she was in the company of people she shook her head and looked down to her lap. "I'm sorry. I was just spacing out." She folded her hands in her lap with a small smile. "It's nice to meet you both. I'm Gabriel's neighbor, Cody."

The phone hadn't rang, the alarm hadn't gone off. To be honest she didn't want to go to school. Her darling teddy bear had realized this and unplugged the phone as well as the alarm clock. He was snuggling with her now. Cuddled against her chest as she slept peacefully. As long as he was with her she didn't have nightmares.
The sun finally hit the spot, it came through her window and assualted her. She whimpered and rolled over. However she was now awake. Looking around she wiped her eyes and fussed lightly. Her lithe frame moved with ease through out the cluttered appartment that she shared with Taru. In her small room there were tons of stuffed animals and rag dolls. They covered everything and seemed to all wake up at the same time she did. Waving to her they bowed their heads too. She smiled and waved back. "Good morning everyone."
A few of the dolls along with her teddy bear walked around and gathered her clothes for that day. They helped her brush out her hair and get dressed. Then they went back to where they normally stayed. Heimei clapped her hands once and the teddy bear jumped into her arms holding onto her like an infant would. "We're too late for school, but Taru isn't home either...well lets go get some food. Maybe we'll meet him on the way!" She stated hyperstatically.

Gabriel Matthew Gabriel came up behind Jayy, placing a hand once again on her shoulder blade. He kept his hand at normal temperature this time instead of letting the touch of heat slide down his arm that he normally did. "You need to be careful, Jay," he said, keeping his voice low. He then rested his forehead on her back between her shoulder blades for a moment "You worry me when you get like that." He then took his head off her back and proceeded to scratch lightly along her shoulder blades. "And I'm sure I'm not the only one you worry," he said, raising an eyebrow at Tetra.

[[ TETRA ]] [[ RUTHAFORD ]] The whole thing is electrical It's running through my veins And everything's connectable [[ IT'S ]] [[ MY ]] [[ DIGITAL ]] [[ WORLD ]] The whole thing's interchangeable A-wired up to my mind Where anything is capable As the door opened, Moko met the eyes of a small fluffy cat. Moko blinked for a moment then put a hand up ready to say hello. The cat must have taken that as his greeting because it started nudging and mewling. Moko just giggled and ran off back towards Tetra. Tetra for her part, noticed the new arrival's attention on her phone. The girl seemed a bit spacy but the fact that she even recognized Moko as a phone was impressive. Tetra had to wonder if the new girl had a similar power or if it was just a really good guess. The cookies she held up looked delicious, though, and Tetra was really starting to get hungry so she just smiled and made room for everyone. Jayy seemed to be refilling her water bottles, and Gabriel was offering to toast sandwiches. The mention of toast reminded Tetra of Tohko. She glanced at the scattered pieces of the appliance and silently apologized for taking longer than she had originally thought. Jayy brought her back to the present by suddenly hugging her and ruffling her hair again. She blinked at her partner. "Angel? But all I did was make sandwiches..."Just then the new girl came over and set the cookies down and Moko finally reached his goal. He climbed up on Tetra shoulder as Cody introduced herself. Again the girl seemed to space out, but until Tetra could puzzle out more details she wasn't one to call people out on their strangeness. She was, after all, rather... unique... herself. Tetra glanced around to see if Gabriel or Jayy were going to make the introductions, but Gabriel still seemed worried over Jayy. She could understand the sentiment, but she knew Jayy was beating herself up already. Like Tetra, Jayy was her own worst critic. Tetra caught the glance in her direction made by Gabriel, but thought it merely a nod to her previous concern over Jayy. Moko however nodded at the spoken statement of worry. "That's right! Moko worries about Jayy too! That's what Moko and Tetra are here for!" Moko turned back to Cody and spoke again. "I'm sorry Cody, we forgot to introduce ourselves. Moko is Moko, and Tetra made Moko, and Jayy is Tetra's partner and then you should know Gabriel already!" The robot waved a hand at his pink haired creator to indicate who was who. Moko had to climb up on top of Tetra's head to point to Jayy. Tetra blushed and just picked up a sandwich and began munching.
