Nick jummped hearing a voice, "W-Who's there?" He called out hiding behind his horse.

Nate jumped when Nick spoke. "Hello!? I have a large mammal...and I know how to use it!" He popped out from behind the hay. "N-Nick?!" He turned red.

"Oh," Nick put his hand over his heart, "you stared me quite a bit." He said and caught his breath. "What were you doing back there?"

"W-Well...the stalls are cleaned and the horses are brushed so...well...I went to relax...and...." Nate coughed and looked away. "it's comfy....I fell asleep..." He bit his lip.

Nick laughed, "That sounds lovely! A nice afternoon nap." He hummed and put Fiona back in her stall, "Did you dream anything?" He asked Nate.

"N-Nothing exciting...just riding around the countryside on a beautiful horse..." Nate said as he stood up and brushed hay from his clothes, but missed his hair. "Would you like me to clean Fiona up?"

Nick pulled a few peices of hay from the boy's hair, "Well if you wouldn't mind too mcuh yes." he said once all the hay was gone.

Nate smiled when Nick cleaned his hair. He turned to Fiona and started to take off her gear. "Time to make you pretty, girl..." Fiona whinnied and hit Nate with her nose pushing him over. "Woah!"

Nick caught the other boy easily, "A-Are you ok?" he asked still holding the boy.

Nate looked up at Nick, nodding slowly. He stood back up and faced away from Nick. "T-thank you..." Nate walked over to Fiona and muttered under his breath, "Not funny." Fiona snorted.

Nate motioned towards Nick's back. He wanted to speak, but stayed quiet. Nate sighed and turned back to Fiona nuzzling her face. "You're so lucky...you get to be with him for so long." Fiona seemed to nuzzle back, trying to comfort him.

Nick arrived early the next day seemingly furious. He stopped near the stables and pouted, leaning against the door frame.

Nate came in on a horse, slowing to a stop when he saw Nick. "Hey...is something wrong?" He slid off the horse, putting it back into it's stall. Nate walked over to Nick. "Are you okay?"

Nick rubbed his eyes, "I-I'm fine." he said with a sniffle and tears bubbling over.
