It's YOUR life. They can't tell you howo to live it or how you wish to dress. Have confidence and show them that you don't care. Weakness will only fuel them.
And I'm sure they're just jealous that you look amazing!

It takes a lot of courage to go out that way. If you get looks ignore them. You can't help who you are, be proud of it.

I know its not nearly the same but I used to wear ties and like piles of rainbows and people would give me that disapproving look and at first it really got to me but after a while as they pass you by you tend to forgot. eventually Id get stares and wondered what they were for because I had grown so used to dressing that way I didn't think anything of it.
It takes time adjusting to being yourself in public. but it takes guts to do it and I admire you for that.
maybe even muster a wink at them if you can. that'll throw em off. razz

That's pretty hot. Yet I'm not sure how I feel about this. Transvestites, much like pride parades only validate all the negative stereotypes John Q. Protestant have about us. It's hard enough not having certain basic civil rights without flamboyant stereotypes making us look deviant. And it's not just an LGBT thing, either. You'd get the same looks of disapproval if you dressed like a ninja, or didn't wear any pants. Its about how far you are from being normal, and unfortunatley, we are seen as being far from it. I feel as though any flamboyance ant this point is only going to hurt us.
That said, there's something sexy about men in skirts. Any pics?

Im not a man, nor will I ever be a man. I am a boy, sure, but thats as male as Ill be. I hate her music, but that one song title "Im not a girl, not yet a woman"...well. It works.

Except when Prince Charles wears one...

You wear what you want: it's supposed to be a free country, ain't it?
HUGZ!!!
Be tasteful (which is something I usually ask both my straight AND otherwise inclined friends...) and you'll look brilliant no matter what you wear, that's the only important thing. smile

I commend you for your bravery. If I could afford women's clothes and makeup I would totally go to school in them even though I don't consider myself a trans. ( Idk.. I've just always seen clothes as clothes and not just for one specific gender. ) Your always going to get strange looks and stuff because well, society sucks. But you'll always have people like us that support you. <3

Saelune Shilberu Erikku Saelune RoxyChick2003 College is full of nice people. Nicer than high school, anyway. Depending on the place you live and such, I'm sure you'll be fine. Yeah, people are going to judge you. But think of it this way: Everyone judges everyone all the time. From bad-driving, to odd coloured clothing, to the way you speak. No matter what, people will always be judging you. Just try to remember that the people who matter to you, are the only ones that should have opinions that matter to you. Everyone else can just go shove it. XD Its the stares that really get to me. Sometimes its a look of confusion...or sometimes disgust...but it just kills me inside... If the stares bother you that much, why not dress more convincingly? I dont know if you are being a total b***h here, or just ignorant of how mean that sounded. I would love to pass without question. Its a goal I definatly have. Its also a huge source of my depression. Sorry, didn't mean to offend. I'm just saying, if you're getting all them weird looks and stuff, why not just dress more convinvingly, so they won't be able to tell?

Know how difficult just managing body hair is!? You say "be convincing" like it is so simple and easy. It isnt. It is extremely difficult and complicated, and its quite obvious you dont understand that.

As many others have said; Mass respect for your courage to do so in the first place. That kind of courage is something that I wish I had. You're being who you want to be, and what you feel most comfortable with. That in itself says a lot, in my eyes at least. Folks around you may not understand it now, but in time they will likely learn to accept, and perhaps even appreciate you for who you are. And those who may not, just aren't worth your time at all. Just keep being yourself, and doing what makes you happy! It may be difficult at times, but stay strong, and just look at this thread if neebe and look at all the folks who support you, and always remember there are those of us out there who understand. 3nodding

Let them stare. I'm willing to bet you're beautiful as well as brave :)
I'm a transguy and showing the world who you are, even when they might not agree with it, is one of the toughest things you'll ever do. I know how much it hurts when you don't pass to somebody and how awkward it is when you have to correct them, but it's worth it.
