Kai Blightwater  Kai nodded. So we would have to block and attack from Darius? This could be problematic, as he did not see Darius as a pushover, and he honestly did fear the abilites of his teacher. He held his blade in front of him with both hands, and put his right foot behind the other foot, in a kendo stance. Kai crouched slightly to barce himself more, and nodded at Darius, confidentthat he would be able to absorb a strike. The were-croc began to breath slowly, in and out, in preperation for absorbing the damage. He didn't have any idea what it would be like the first time, but he didn't want to think about it too much, because it might deter his concentration from actually performing the stance correctly.

He had to use a skill at D-rank or lower, for that's all the stance would be able to block. Pulling yet another book from his bag, he flipped through. It was a book for the element of Earth. Seeing the first skill, Darius nodded. That would do. Lifting his hands out in front of him, he closed his eyes as his energy focused into several leaves on a few trees placed around the edge of the arena. Opening his eyes, he let his energy burst, cause the five leaves he had gripped with his energy to fly forward, passed Darius, and towards Kai. "Be ready, cause here I come!" Darius shouted, giving a heads up to Kai. He'd have to block and absorb each of the leaves' energy for his skill to be successful.

Kai Blightwater Kai watched as Darius performed the technique. He seemed to be able to control the leaves around him. Because of the nature of the technique, Kai assumed the leaves had been enhanced some way via energy. Kai held out his sword, and began to quickly smack each of the leaves, blocking them, and at the same time, depleting them of energy, and the leaves harmlessly floated to ground. He sheathed his sword, and looked to Darius. "Alright, what is up next?" He asked. ((Defensive stance learned))

You're certainly improving," he complimented as he looked through the book for warriors once more. "Seems there's but one more skill ya 'ave ta learn," he said quietly. "It seems to be the opposite of yer last skill. Offensive Stance. You take an offensive stance, and in turn become faster (2 ranks), but attacks take greater toll on ya (attacks do 1 rank higher damage to you). Kai Blightwater Kai examined Darius flip through the pages of the book. Would he eventually be allowed to used this book? Kai listened to the fainal explanation, and pulled out Dusty Demon, and stood with his feet shoulder length apart, on his toes, with his sword at his side in one hand. He began to move towards a tree, and was definitely quicker than he was before. He made it to the tree in no time, and quickly began to attack it, slashing, then strafing to the side, the slashing again. In only a few moments, there was several marks all over the tree, and Kai calmed down, sheathing his sword once more. ((Offensive stance learned))

((Good news everyone!! We're under attack!! biggrin Dotty, It's time for your first test twisted just not the one you expected))
The Knight and his pupil were hard at work, but the rhyt of their breath and the echoes of their footsteps in that vacant Arena could not distract them from the roar of their Lord's voice.
"DARIUS! KAI! TO ME!!"
His arrival was from the darkness at the edges of the arena. His eyes were immediately visible; his orbs immolated by orange and violet light. Beyruun was in hand as a long spear, and it was clear simply by looking at the Anima that his convictions demanded violence. He did not pause. His words
Thundered through the air with anger and fury.
"To me, now! Triwinds is under attack. We must not allow it to fall! Steel yourselves, we leave immediately as Azur arrives."
His eye stares out to the grand doors leading into the arena. She had said she would be there soon, and he prayed she would. If Triwinds fell, so would The Devil's Eye's most fertile farmlands, and the people would know famine once again.

That was rather quick. As Darius listened to Krayth, he could sense urgency in his tone and in his bodily expressions. Something was wrong. As Krayth explained, Darius' eyes widened. They were under attack? Already!? Darius hadn't even had the time to fully train Kai. Worriedly, Darius looked down towards his student. Would he be ready for this? ... No matter, they were low on a military force, so Darius just had to hope for the best outcomes. Gripping the hammer on his back tightly, Darius nodded to Krayth and Azur as she also entered the arena in a worried fury. Darius watched as she said her part, then stormed out. Looking towards Kai once again, he sighed. "Do ya feel up to this? Kai Blightwater Kai blinked as all of the people he met rushed into the arena in a flurry of voices and movement. They were under attack? But by who? He quickly weighed his options. He definitely wanted to test out his abilities. He gripped his blade, and nodded to Darius. "I'm coming with you all." He said simply, and began to leave the arena. [exit]

He had hoped she would come with them directly, but the tactician in him knew that to have her arrive slightly later with reinforcements would prove invaluable... If anyone could appreciate the merit of the element of surprise, is was the Soul Stalker. His life had hung on it many times. Before she had passed back through the Arena's double doors, Krayth called after her.
"Be wary and look for us on your arrival! Plan your attack with the knowledge that we will have already arrived!"
The doors slammed shut, and their echo resonated within the Arena. Hearing Darius concern towards the young warrior, and then hearing Kai's resolute desire to accompany them instilled a ferocious sense of confidence in The Lord of The Devil's Eye. Between the four of them, this travesty would not stand... those responsible for Triwind's attack would pay dearly, and not only in blood... but souls...
The Anima's hand clapped onto Kai's shoulder before he could follow after Azur. The Were-Croc didn't know it yet, but Krayth had far more efficient means of travel...
"Darius, Kai. Shut your eyes."
He set one hand on the base of each of their necks. His touch was not alarming, but his words might very well be.
"We travel to Triwind now, through a darker plane. Brace yourselves."
His mind located their destination with a razor sharp point of focus. In Triwind, there was a place ideal for Krayth's mode of travel... they would see it when they got there. Until then, the present brought a pervasive and violating feeling. A sensation of melting, as if their flesh was transmuted into water, or vapor... something that was not solid, and had no shape of its own. There was no pain, but next came The Dark... overwhelming and all around them. A sea of black darker than a lightless night, with nowhere to turn and no means of escape. If Kai and Darius had been weaker men they might have panicked, but they were not. They would weather the sensations, and what would feel likee hours of flowing through a channel of water; dragged by an unseen force.
Then, in an instant, it was over. Their eyes would open to see the shaded corners of a wine cellar.
