Teenage Skill - Solange learns Fire Fang!

The thing about pissed off Houndoom’s was that the angrier they got, the more toxic their flames became and when they burned…it would hurt FOREVER.

Solange ran a shaky hand through her hair as she stalked away from work that morning. The night shift at her new bartending gig wasn’t what aggravated her; she had a nice, solid job at “I Choose You” and generally liked going in every evening, even if she did miss the time she got to spend solo with Tania and Tristan when Urban worked. What bothered her was the pricks that waited for her when she got off her shift, asking her how much it would take to get her to come back with them for the day.

Her vengeance had been swift and merciless. Solange was exhausted, starving, and hadn’t a shred of patience to spend on the two dimwits. As of now she was walking back to their apartment in the early morning light, stifling a yawning growl with her palm. “Who the hell even does that…If I catch them in the club again, I’m going to-“

“Hey sweet thang, wait up!”

Solange reached out for the nearest lamppost to hold onto as she dipped her head on a groan. Really? Really?! As she heard the bozos footsteps closing in on her, Solange stood up, smoothed down the front of her dress and smiled at them, if a little too sweetly…She cracked her knuckles and stepped forward, having he good graces to set her purse on a newspaper dispenser. “Well, you’re new.”

Three taller, gruffer men stepped forward, each holding some sort of weapon. The one who’d spoken earlier sneered at her. “Think you can beat up my boys and get away with it?”

“I swear, you guys are worse than Zubats,” She rolled her shoulders. “Listen up, fellas; I’ve got to make this quick. My pups are going to be waking up in-“ Sol checked her watch. –“one hour and I’m making pancakes. Make it fast.”
He let out a barking laugh, and look at his men, all of whom were snickering openly now. “Better call ‘em and say you’re running late, cuz I’m-“

“Blah, blah blah, shut UP.” Solange rushed them and swung her leg up, sending a perfectly aimed kick straight at one of the thugs chest. She bounced back on her feet, arms held up in defensive position. “Which one of you is going to tell them why mommy’s late? YOU? Puh-lease. My daughter could eat you alive!”

She vaguely remembered a bat being swung at her back, and the stinging throb it left. The other two proved to be more of a challenge than the first. They fought and spared until Solange was bleeding, and had a noticeable limp. However, it wasn’t until one of the jerks pinned her arms behind her that she got REALLY pissed. Their leader stepped in on, and wiped a stream of blood off his jaw. “Pretty little things got a bite, huh? We’ll see how snappy you are when I’m done with you.”

Solange started laughing. At first it could have been mistaken for a broken sob, but as it escalated, so did the insanity of it. The entire time her skin’s temperature began to rise, and a power started to grow inside of her. Her instincts were screaming at her to attack, to rip, and who was she to deny them?

When she smiled, her fangs were on FIRE.

“I’ll show you a bite!” Solange lunged forward and latched her now free hands onto his shoulder and snapped her flaming jaws onto his throat. The man howled in agony, and when she pushed him aside, his cohorts were quick to pick up the pieces.

With a snort, and a grin, Solange tossed her purse over her shoulder and limped back to the apartment.

Teenage Skill - Solange learns Giga Impact!

Cordelia paced the floor as she watched her mother, Wendy, bandage Solange in what seemed like a normal every routine. Even when she came to visit she was cut up, and bruised! “You’re a bartender for crying out loud! Why are you so beat up?!”

Solange groaned and slouched back into the love seat while Wendy stitched a knife wound on her shoulder. It had been on a whim that she decided to visit her family, but along the way she’d come across the same bozo’s she’d shown her Firefang to, and…..well, they needed another demonstration. “s**t happens.” She gave Cordelia a pointed look. “I don’t go looking for it.”

“Could have fooled the hell out of me!” The teenager stomped her foot on the floor, purple locks bouncing like electricity around her head. “Where was Urban, huh? That boyfriend of yours. You shouldn’t have to be the one to fight, not if he’s this big shot you make him out to be. A real man wouldn’t-“

“Cordelia, stop it.” Wendy sat the first aid kid aside. She pushed her glasses back upon the bridge of her nose, and looked between the two. “All you’ve done since Snips came home is argue. I know you’re worried sweetie, and don’t stick your tongue out Snips, you’re just as much to blame, but the two of you are just going to make it worse.”

She stood up, gathered her tools and walked over to the medicine cabinet in her attached kitchen. The living area itself wasn’t far at all, and over the counter top she could see the two girls awkwardly avoiding looking at one another. It was just like old times, except that now Solange could talk.
Wendy Norr leaned against the cool granite counter top, arms crossed before her with a gentle smile. “Cordelia, honey, why don’t you give Snips her present.”

Cordelia eyes widened and she nodded. She gave a passing glance to the Houndoom before racing up the stairs. Solange held up a confused hand, motioning to Wendy to tell her what was up, but Wendy just smiled. They sat in silence as crashing and banging could be heard upstairs, even the sound of glass being broken, until Cordelia made it back down to ground level.

The young girl held her hands behind her back until she was closer to Solange, at which point she displayed a TM. “I saved up my earnings from the last few photo-shoots to get this for you. It’s Giga Impact; the vendor assured me that Houndooms could learn it, and since it’s a mostly physical move with high damage I thought that it might help you to win more fights without spilling blood.”

Solange gave Cordelia a curious look, and turned touched eyes to the TM. “You…you’re that worried about me?”

“We’re partners; of course I worry about you.”

Solange’s frown slipped into a smile, and when she stood up she wrapped Cordelia in a tight hug. “Thank you, for worrying, but I’m fine. So long as I know you’re here I’ll stay strong, and I promise not to get in so many scrapes.”

“Do you mean it?”

“….yes.”

“Solange!”

The Houndoom chuckled and smiled. “Yes, yes, okay, I mean it, s**t! Now come on; let’s go outside and see what this bad boy can really do.”

Solange stood in the front yard, facing off against one of Dream’s many foes; a stuffed magmar named Bob. The stuffing was sticking out on all sides, and it’s wooden arms were almost as intimidating as the lipstick used to draw a face.

“Kick it’s a**, Sol!”

Solange rolled her shoulders and braced herself…..only to huff and turn around. “This is impossible; look, I can’t just fight a dummy.” She motioned to the sad sack. “This is almost too pathetic…”

“Fine, fine,” Cordelia reached a hand down and pulled a Poke’ball off her belt. When she tossed it out, a passive aggressive Pidgeotto emerged. “Yvonne, Solange wants to see your new moves!”

Without any warning, Yvonne soared into the sky, and beat her winds so hard it was as if gusts of air were bullying Solange into the ground. She tumbled, falling to her knees in an effort to shield herself from the flurry. With a growl she stood, and sent an Ember at the bird, but Yvonne easily dodged it.
Solange pulled herself to her feet with a running start, dodged quick attacks as best she could until one perfectly placed beat slammed into her shoulder, sending her stumbling into Wendy’s flower bed. She had to get that damn bird on the ground!

The longer they fought the more she began to wear down. Yvonne had the advantage in the air, and as much as Solange tried to burn her out she couldn’t make a hit. That is, until she saw that Yvonne too was beginning to tire.

When she was at a lower altitude Solange’s body began to glow. Her growls rose into a menacing howl and when she charged her body was alight. She leapt into the air, and slammed into the bird with everything that she had, knocking the two of them into a crumbled mess on the ground.

Yvonne was out cold, her eyes spinning in her skull, while Solange was only able to stay awake long enough to hold a thumbs up to Cordelia before passing out herself, a large grin on her face.

Adult Entry One

She was leaving work when it happened. Solange remembered seeing the same goons from before, with a few friends added into the mix and she knew her goose was cooked. Urban had told her once that it was easy to fight one on one, hell, even a small group on one, but a gang? No chance.

In a haze of memory she remembered fighting. There was a lot of fire, and when it ran out there were fists and feet. They grabbed her hair, pulled her down and the rest was better off suppressed. She tried to run, tried to dodge them, but she couldn’t, any more than she could will herself to scream. It would have given them too much power over her, power they already held because of their numbers.

When she came too she was in Dream’s arms, but she couldn’t hear him. He was shouting, wasn’t he? Why was he shouting? Why did he look like that? She saw the ambulance backing up closer to her, saw the gurney before she was lifted onto it, but she couldn’t protest. Her insides felt as if they had been burned as well; torn apart by a frozen sword from her cut to her sternum. Solange tried to move her left arm, but the best she could do was flop it against her side. The more she moved, the more she heard, the more she felt. She was thankful later for the gas mask that covered her scream, and helped ease her back into sleep.

The “in between” as Sol called it was the biggest blur of all. When she woke she might see Dream or Urban, sometimes even Cordy. There were white walls, machines that beeped and a tube that she could feel across her face, slipping into her nose. Every time she time to reach out to one sleep would take her again. They all looked so worried, and Urban…Why couldn’t she just stay awake?

When she woke up for the first solid time she knew it was night. Solange shifted in the bed, stumbling around a braced arm and stitches. Her hair was the biggest challenge, as it was in a low, haphazard pony tail and she kept elbowing it when she rose, yanking her head back in the process. The door opened to her left and she stilled, but relaxed when she saw it was just Dream.

After a length of time, after hugs and worried well wishes, doctor visits and talks, Dream explained to her what had happened. And not just with her attack.

“He did what?!”

“Sol, the guy flipped his lid. He was worried sick about you, we all were, and well…Urban didn’t take it as…”calmly” as everyone else.”

Solange gripped the sheets in her hands and curled her knees as close to her chest as she could, barring bruises and gauze. Even with Dream’s hand on her back she felt like she couldn’t breathe. She’d never been ready for kids, probably never really would be, but for him to toss them out…

She’d failed them. She failed them all for the last damn time, and she couldn’t stop crying. The crying just made her anger worse, and she lashed out at Dream when he tried to calm her. Couldn’t he see?! If she’d been stronger, if she had kept up her training then she wouldn’t have been beaten, Urban wouldn’t have been put in that position, and those kids wouldn’t be on their own!

It was when she threatened to stab an orderly who tried to put her back in bed that she was sedated for the first time. The nightmares that can from the injections were the worst. Faces of her attackers were mixed with voices from her loved ones; a beating with Tristan’s smile, a tire iron with Tania’s laugh, and the hand that gagged her was Urban, telling her that he loved her.
When she was calm enough to have the straps removed from her arms, Solange was numb on the inside. Numb, and scared. Nothing would be the same anymore, and she didn’t know what kind of home she was going back to. She ached to comfort Urban, to tell him she was okay, but she wouldn’t lie to him. She couldn’t.

And the kids…she would find them, tell them that she still cared, even if she couldn’t be their “mom”. They deserved parents who didn’t get in street fights, and could swamp them in the loving care they needed. They might be mad at her, at them, but it wouldn’t matter to her. As long as they knew. As long as she knew that they knew.

The Wedding! - Sol, Urban, Quinn, Jayme, Dream and Cam

“It’s here! It’s here, it’s here!” Cordelia chimed, moving around the room with the speed of a Poke’mon herself. Her wild hair was pinned to her head for the first time in ages, but the more she bounced, the more tendrils escaped. “When you told me you were getting engaged to this guy, I was nervous, because I mean, whose more shady than Ur-“

“Cordelia, we need more pins.” Wendy smiled to her overactive daughter and watched as the young adult left the room. She stood tall and proud behind Solange, who was seated before the hotel’s vanity table. Several times she’d had to dab her eyes with the tissue currently hanging out of her dress pocket, but never so much as it would ruin her eye makeup. “Look up, dear, and turn to the left.”

Solange felt as if she couldn’t breathe. While Cordelia blathered on about this and that from the other room in the suite the women had booked, Solange felt as if she were in a tunnel. It really WAS here. Today was the day she would become Urban’s bride, and as cheerfully sunny the tropical beach was outside she couldn’t stop shaking.

“Do you know if Dream has his suit already? And Jayme, does he know to come here for pictures before we walk down?” Wendy waved to Cordelia, murmuring something about checking her phone for texts from the boys. “Ah, well, Dream’s on his way up to drop off the flowers. Do you want him to get you something to drink? Solange?” Wendy tapped the side of her face with a hand, an amused grin playing out on her face.

Solange shook her head and gave a tense laugh. “Sorry, nerves. Yeah, some kinda soda would be nice. And I think Dream told Jayme, so here’s hoping he didn’t mess this s**t up.” Wendy smacked her shoulder, a little rougher than the last time. “What?”

“Language. You’re a bride today.” Wendy walked away to search for the jewelry box, leaving Solange alone to turn to the mirror.

Everything felt so surreal. With her hair pinned up, it felt as if everything was coming into place. Her makeup was soft, demure even, which gave a stark contrast to the risqué qualities of her dress. When she stood, the folds of the skirt danced across her legs onto the carpet, pooling around the jewelry that would serve in place for shoes today. Giving a little twirl, Solange felt herself loosen up when she looked at the mirror.

A wolf whistle from the doorway made her turn. Dream passed off a box of flowers to Wendy and sauntered over to Solange. His shorter hair made him look more boyish, and lighter, even. Though, most of it could be attributed to Quinn. “How do I look?”

“Like a Goddess.” Where once he might have been envious of Urban, he could only feel relief that Solange looked so happy. Dressed in white himself, they made quite the pair, though it wasn’t the woman before him that made his heart flutter. He turned to the mirror, and gave a huff, moving his hair around his forehead to cover the larger portions of bandaged wounds. Though, with ivory bandages on chocolate skin, he couldn’t do much. “I look like a hot mess. And this hot air is drying out my stitches. “ Passively, he passed his hand over his thighs, which were stiff and bandaged.

With a chuckle, Solange wrapped her arm around his and took the soda from his free hand, popped the top with her fang and took a long drink. “Chill, Casanova, you look sexy. No one’s supposed to be looking at you, anyway.”

“Does that mean they shouldn’t?” Dream laughed, and barely dodged a punch to the shoulder.

Jayme, while he was Solange’s maid of honor, a position within the wedding that had absolutely floored him to be honest…was down with the guys getting dressed mostly because he himself was male, and Solange and the others were decidedly female. His dress was simple, so as not to upstage Solange, and he was currently fidgeting with the red sash on it to tighten it slightly. His hair hung loosely around his shoulders as was normal for him.

Cameron was helping Urban straighten his tie up a little the pair decked out in matching suits, complementing the dress Jayme was wearing, and he was teasing his best friend to help him relax. “Who’d have thought, you of all people settling down? If you’d asked me back when we dated if I thought you were the marrying type, I’d have laughed in your face you know that right?” There was a laugh from Urban as he swatted Cam’s hand from his throat. “What can I say? Sol completes me in ways I can’t describe, and I have grown up since we dated you know.” There was a nod from Cam then, and a smile. “This is true you have and I’m really happy for you man.” He clapped Urban on the shoulder and turned to Jayme who was looking a little nervous, the dress was much shorter than he was used to!

There was a knock on the door before it swung open, and there stood Quinn, who removed the hat he wore, before ducking into the room. All three sets of eyes turned to look at him, surprised by how nicely he cleaned up. "Well look at you. Who knew you could look so nice in that getup?" Urban chuckled at the tall teen, who like Dream was still slightly decked in bandages and such. “Ready to hit the beach? It’s about time.” Urban gave a nod and a smile. “Got the rings Cam?” “Right here.” Jayme eased to his feet, and accepted the flowers he would be carrying from Quinn, who extended an arm to him. “Come on gents, lets go.” Once back out of the room, Quinn redonned the cowboy hat he had on, standing out not only for his size, but his height and all, which was added to by his dress clothes. He cut an imposing figure!

Jayme waited at the spot he was supposed to, for Solange so he could walk out ahead of her, and Quinn stood there waiting for Dream, so they could go out together, while Urban and Cam stepped from the hotel and out onto the beach, the area designated for their wedding was cordoned off, and there stood a priest waiting for them. Urban and Cam stood there waiting, eyes fixed on the stretch of beach Solange would have to walk down.

Wendy and Cordelia were the first to descend the steps to where the boys waited. While their eyes and complexions were similar, Cordelia’s violet hair set her apart from her mother’s strawberry blonde. The older of the two sucked in a deep breath, and moved in to give first Jayme, then Quinn a hug. “You boys look amazing. Jayme, you are an absolute peach, and Quinn…well, I know why my Dream picked you.” She chuckled when her daughter tapped her arm playfully. “I’ll want to talk with you after the ceremony, just to make sure you’re good for my boy.”

With those words spoken, the stepped to the side, allowing for Dream to follow down next. He popped his labels, coming down the steps with an stiffer, but languid stride and a charmingly white smile. Seeing his trainer so close to Quinn reminded him that the two had yet to be properly introduced, and for a moment he felt his heart clench. She wouldn’t have said anything too embarrassing, right? Right?...Internally he began to weep. He moved close to Quinn, scanning the larger boy with appreciating eyes before leaning in. “Keep the hat on later.”

Last to descend was Solange. Her bare feet felt odd on the pavement, as did the exposed garter on her leg. In her ears were large, diamond earrings and around her neck sat a necklace she could care less to wear again. She smiled nervously to the assembly, clutching her crimson bouquet to her chest. When she saw Jayme a bright smile spread to her face. “Oh my God, Jayme…” She couldn’t help it; she hugged him, and hugged him tight. “I’m so glad you’re here. I don’t know where I would be without you.” Pulling back, she turned to see Quinn, widening her eyes at the enormity of him. She cast a quick look to Dream as if
to say ‘not bad’ before getting caught by Wendy.

“Pictures will have to wait for later, dear; we’re needed on the beach now.”

Quinn was gracious and hugged Dream and Solange’s trainer/mom back, a warm smile on his face. “It would be my pleasure to sit and talk with you later ma’am.” Yes, this one did know how to be polite when the situation called for it, and he could see it did.

With Dream coming up to him Quinn bent, and brushed a soft kiss to his cheek and a low whispered “Be my pleasure to leave the hate on Darlin’” before he straightened and offered his elbow to Dream, just because he wanted to, a bright smile on his face as he leaned in to hug Sol gently, turning to look at Dream again. It might’ve been her big day, but the big guy had eyes for no one but the Ninetails beside him.
Jayme for his part hugged Solange back tightly, tears in his eyes. “I’m so happy for you Solange! Who knew a blind date between us, would turn into yours and Urban’s wedding!” it was amazing, he actually squealed in delight at this idea, he stepping back to look at her. “Urban was a smart man asking you to marry him. I’m so happy I had a part in you two meeting.” He beamed at his best friend and held out her flowers then. “Also, I worked on a special surprise for your guy’s first dance…and you will be dancing!” Quinn was amused by the forceful tone Jayme had in that instance, and his assessment of the usually quiet teen changed a little, and he couldn’t help but chuckle, winking at Dream. It had only been a short time since their accident, and he was glad they were in such a beautiful place to have this wedding, it would give them a chance to relax and spend some restful, happy time together. “C’mon Darlin, we need to head out to the sand now. I have a chair sitting there for you so you can rest if you need.” He was of course still worried about Dream, and wasn’t about to let him suffer standing if he had to sit. His own bandages were more hidden, and even the sling he was in for his still mending arm was mostly hidden beneath his jacket. He was just glad the potions that had been used had healed it so well!

“I have the cameras sitting out there ready to go for plenty of photos after…and I do mean plenty.” Quinn had helped Cam set them up not too long before! Holding the door open for Cordelia, and Dream his good hand then coming to rest lightly on his lower back as the door swung shut, and Jayme couldn’t help the wistful sort of sigh from him. “Dream is sure lucky to have a guy who cares about him so much. I’m glad your both so happy.” He beamed again, knowing it was about time for him to lead the way.

Dream couldn’t keep the smile off his face. He felt his cheeks warm as that same smile took on a devious grin, and a part of him felt it all come full circle when Quinn not only hugged his mom, but Sol as well. With his arm looked in the larger boys, he gave a squeeze, standing as tall and proud as the sun itself.

The bride to be couldn’t look Jayme in the eye, or else she might start tearing up herself! “Crazy s**t, huh?” She held onto his hands for a while, unable to let him go even as he pulled back. “A part? Jayme, you’re the reason why I put him with him to begin with! Without you, I wouldn’t have gotten to know him at all. You should go into matchmaking.” Solange held her flowers up as a sassy guard, taken a back by Jayme’s forceful tone, even as Dream snickered. “You know I have two left feet…”

“It’s true. She’ll…she’ll…yeah, no, go ahead and dance.” Every word that Dream spoke was met with an intensely deepening glare from Wendy, and when he finally zipped up she gave him a pleasant smile. No matter how old they got, Momma still ruled the roost! Dream, however, had his attention turn to Quinn and all sarcastic comments went out the window. “Thanks. Hopefully I won’t need it, but I’ll keep an eye on it.” The one he was more worried about was Quinn, but out of the two he wasn’t going to be the one trying to keep up an appearance at the alter.

Wendy gave a deep sigh. “Oh thank goodness. I was worried we wouldn’t have any.” With her hand clenched in her daughters, she gave Cordelia a hug and let her walk out with her ‘brother’ and his boyfriend.

“Lucky doesn’t begin to cover it. I have no idea how he found that guy, or how he managed to tame him, but I’m glad.” She leaned in to give Jayme a chaste kiss on the cheek. “And someday soon you’ll be the luckiest of us all.”

Jayme couldn’t keep the soft blush from his face at Sol’s words , a smile on his face as he squeezed her hands. “Well, I’m glad I could help you out I really, really am. You two are perfect together.” That’s just how he saw the two of them! “Urban dances very well, I bet he’ll make sure your two left feet don’t trip you both up.” He laughed softly and winked then. It was amazing what the change of scenery for a home life and work was doing for the teen. He was opening up and loosening up so much lately, even despite the issue at the hot springs not too long ago.

“Well if you do, you do. I plan on having a dance with you as well Darlin’, just a slow one. Be nice to have you close to me out on the sand like that.” Quinn’s words drawled out slowly, a smile on his face as they crossed the sand, and moved into sight of Cameron and Urban, the latter looking nervous and an amused Cam merely going “Breathe man, breathe….”

“Oh you never heard? I guess Zevian decided to be himself…and hired Quinn to track down Dream, made it out like Dream had stolen stuff from him. Which, he hadn’t. Quinn realized the truth, and let Dream go and drove him home. You know he’s a bounty hunter right?” Jayme couldn’t help a low chuckle then, shaking his head. It was amazing that it was all thanks to Zev, that Dream and Quinn had met and were now dating. He shook his head lightly at Sol’s words, a smile given. “Hard to say. Maybe. For now, we need to focus on you and your day.” That said he turned then and began to walk out on the sand, the sun slowly lowering over the water behind the trio standing at the alter.

“I wouldn’t mind a slow dance, but don’t skip out on boogying just because of me. I’d like to see you get low.” Dream squeezed his hand before branching off to get in standing position beside Cam and Urban. “Looking good, Gentlemen. Tell me, Cam, how many times have you had to keep Urban on his feet? Any fainting scares?” He teased, hoping to keep the mood open and light. Though, his words faded out to a murmur when one of the priest’s attendants turned on music. Dream stood as straight as he could without putting too much pressure on his legs.

Solange, meanwhile, couldn’t keep from sputtering. “What?!” She shrieked, then closed her mouth, ever more aware that music was beginning to play. She counted back from ten in her head, and tried to keep the little s**t out of her mind for the moment. “We’re all going to have to have a little pow wow after the honeymoon. And next time you get intel like this, don’t leave a sistah in the dark!” She chuckled, and nudged Jayme forward.

As the last of the bridesmaids in lineup order, Cordelia was also the last to walk up. As a last minute touch of her own, she pulled petals from a hidden pouch inside of her own mini-bouquet to line the walkway for Solange, smiling boldly at the boys as she went. When she took her spot it wasn’t without a little twirl, her dress coming to a flurried rest around her knees as she came to a rest next to Jayme.

When all was said and done, Solange was taken in arm by Wendy, and to a softer, more tropical version of the wedding march, the two began their descent down the sand.

Quinn grinned at Dream and kissed his cheek before he broke away to go stand up with Cam and Urban, his way of saying ‘we’ll see’ before he stood off to a side waiting for Solange and her ‘mom’ to come down the sandy aisle. He smiled seeing the flower petals finding them a nice touch. Cam couldn’t help a snicker. “None, amazingly. He’s surprising me honestly.” Urban grumbled good naturedly, before the music started, and he grew silent, watching intently.

Jayme was smiling so broadly, he thought his face would crack, he couldn’t get over the amazement his two favorite people were getting married to each other! When Solange came into view, he heard Urban stop breathing for a moment as he sucked in air and let out a low whistle. Turning to look at him, he could see the awed look in his eyes as Sol came down the aisle, and Jayme smiled a little bit brighter somehow.

Quinn stepped closer, waiting to take their mothers arm once she was done walking Solange down the aisle, and he’d even taken the precaution of having tissues on hand, in case. Urban walked forward to meet his bride, taking her hand from her mothers, and bent to kiss her moms cheek with a soft thank you, his eyes turning to Sol. “You look so damned beautiful…” the words were soft, and his eyes liquid. This, was worth all the bad s**t lately!

Jayme shifted forward to take Sol’s flowers from her, and stepped back into line then, watching as the priest came closer and began to talk. He ignored the fact there were people gathering at the fringes of the cordoned off area watching, it was too beautiful a scene to deny others the pleasure of seeing.

“We’re gathered here today to join this Aggron, to this Houdoom in holy matrimony….”

Dream couldn’t believe it. Solange, his tomboy little ‘sister’ was getting married. This was the same girl he’d teased as a child because when she changed she looked so much like a boy that a girl down the street had asked her out! While the spirit remained, he saw none of that boyish charm. She was entirely a young woman now.

Solange walked as confidently as she felt. As soon as she set her eyes on Urban her nerves turned to awed excitement. He looked…he looked like those dorky princes in Cordelia’s movies, but a lot more dashing; a real, veritable version that she would be able to hold for an eternity. His whistle made her flush, even if it wasn’t visible on the darker tints in her skin.

Wendy wasn’t so easily composed. She was crying opening, and thankfully took a tissue from Quinn. She patted Urban’s hand as it lay clasped over Solange’s and smiled at the boy. Her new son. It was strange, to think of a Poke’mon her daughter had caught on the street, as having grown into a daughter and now a married one at that. She stepped to the side and took her seat on the front row.

Solange couldn’t breathe anymore than she could take her eyes off him. At his compliment she gave a breathless chuckle and wiped the happy tears from her eyes. As the priest went through the traditional words, she responded in kind, until it came to the part for her vows to be spoken; the vows she had made herself.

“I’m not a poet, so I can’t come up with anything fancy to say. I wanted to, but all I can say is the truth. When I first met you Urban, I fought you, and the love I felt for you. I didn’t want to give into it because I thought, out of all the guys in the world, you had to be the biggest jerk of them all, and there was no way I could give you a chance. I…” Solange choked and took a deep breath. “…I am SO glad I was wrong. You were the one who showed me there was more than meets the eye, that even though life can get insanely crazy at the drop of a hat that I would never be alone. I never thought in a million years that I would be lucky enough to find you. I will stand by your side, be your light in the dark, and I promise never to part ways angry. I love you, Urban, more than words can say, and I have never been happier than to stand by your side today.”

Quinn kept the tissues coming for the woman at his side, one hand resting lightly on her shoulder in a gentle gesture of affection and all. Jayme was doing his best to keep his tears in check, but a few trickled down his cheeks quietly, and he wiped then away with the back of a hand, cheeks hurting from how brightly he was smiling.

Cam watched the ceremony, a warm smile on his face, though there was a strange…nagging feeling he couldn’t quite shake even as he pushed it to the furthest corner of his mind. No sense in dwelling on what he was sure was a forgotten memory and drive himself nuts in the process.

Urban raised a hand and brushed it lightly over Sol’s cheek a warmth in his eyes as his looked at her. “The moment I laid eyes on you, I knew I was hopelessly in love with you, and wanted to get to know you better, even if I didn’t go about it in the most eloquent of ways. If not for Jayme, I think that we’d never have reached this point. Without Jayme, I wouldn’t have gotten to meet my soul mate. I may not be perfect, and I know I swear like a sailor most times, but I promise to always do right by you, to love you the way you deserve to be loved, treated like the badass queen of my heart that you are, and above all, to never stop loving you for as long as my heart beats, and there’s a breath in my body , and even that isn’t long enough for me. I love you Solange, more than anything and I’m so very, very lucky to have you in my life.”
The priest smiled, and watched as Cam and Jayme came forth with the rings, Urban taking Solange’s from Cam, and gently sliding it onto Solange’s finger, pressing a kiss to the band as he finished, eyes shining bright and triumphant.

Behind them, the sun sank lower, kissing the water, and lending a magical air to it all. Quinn was sure to take plenty of pictures, even while playing wall/tissue dispenser, not wanting them to miss a moment being documented.

Wendy couldn’t thank Quinn enough. Though, for her, the one hand wasn’t doing it. At one point she wrapped her arms around the poor boy and cried openly, but happily. He was just so sweet and the whole thing was so…so…so touching! Cordelia was doing far better than her mother, and from the same pouch in her bouquet she offered Jayme a tissue of her own. Weddings.

Dream wasn’t tearing up. Arceus no, that would be too much! He was merely misting, and as the brother of the bride he was allowed to mist. With a quick hand he wiped away a little tear, and after much deliberation took a seat in the chair proffered by Quinn. His legs had begun to throb, and he didn’t want to push them.

Solange took Urban’s ring from Jayme and slipped it over Urban’s finger, her dark eyes slipping back up to look into his bright, baby blues. Even before the priest was able to fully vocalize the words, Solange threw her arms around Urban’s neck and was kissing him all out. With the sunset as her backdrop, she clung to him, not willing to miss a minute of it. This was her soulmate, her husband, her partner and lover. When she looked at him she saw the stars and the moon, and as she kissed him she felt as if she were touching starlight itself.

Quinn was surprised by the arms around him and the woman clinging to him as he cried, but he let her do just that even as he continued to take pictures of the new bride and groom kissing against the sunset, a bright smile on his face, though he did notice Dream take a seat, and he worried about the other. Still, he was sitting which was good.

Jayme sniffled and gave Cordelia a smile of thanks as he took the tissue and dabbed at his eyes, Cameron breaking into a loud cheer as they were pronounced man and wife…and laughed as the priest corrected it to pokemon and wife…and looked puzzled at the proper term, finally just congratulating them on their union.

Jayme handed Cordelia the flowers then, still holding onto the tissues, and he moved to hug the pair, before he beamed and moved back out of the way, the sun sinking beneath the water and the rising moon his own backdrop as he began to sing for his two best friends.

“The day we met,
Frozen I held my breath
Right from the start
I knew that I'd found a home for my heart...
Beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone?
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer..”

Urban pulled Solange close as Jayme started to sing, his heart near to bursting with happiness as he began to move across the sand with his new wife, lifting her up off the sand just enough that she was literally dancing on air as he moved. In this moment he looked less like a man who could break someone’s arm if they looked at her wrong, and more like the most awed man in existence.

Quinn walked Sol and Dream’s mother up to Cordelia then and gently handed her off, as well as the camera, and moved towards his boyfriends side, crouching down so he could look into his eyes. “How’re you feeling Darlin’?” words softly concerned as he brushed a short lock of hair from the others eyes.

Dream gave a loud whooping cheer, which was following by the little crowd of people on the edges of the roped off section. He kicked back in his chair, stretching his legs out as he gave a wolfish grin to the pair. Love like that wasn’t usually contained, and it wasn’t like it was being sheltered off right now, anyway! His grin turned almost Chesire when he looked at Quinn, all busy with his work with Wendy bawling next to him. Still, he was pleased when the woman finally let go to cheer as well. That kid, Jayme…Solange hadn’t been lying when she said he had the voice of an angel.

The bride herself laughed with mirth, swaying and moving as if she hadn’t a care in the world. In that moment, nothing else mattered, but Urban. With her best friend’s song to chase the sun, she kicked her feet into the air, breezy with Urban lifting her up and planted as many kisses on him as she could. Off beside her she could see that now it was Cordelia taking the photos, moving into spots and angles that showed her professionalism, all the while allowing the couple to own the sand.

Shifting his legs to accommodate Quinn, Dream gave into a little sigh and a sheepish frown. “Sore,” he moved to take Quinn’s lifted hand in his, and brought it to his lips for a kiss. “But I was promised a dance, and I intend to have it. ” Dream rose to stand, albeit unevenly.

Wendy came closer to Cam and now that her tears had been satisfied, she looked almost normal, despite the puffiness around her eyes. “Would you care to dance with an old woman?”

Jayme continued to sing, providing music for the couple dancing, Quinn smiling and pressing a kiss to Dream’s bandaged head. “Well, we’ll take it easy out on the dance floor, then go and retire to our room so you can get some proper rest. We have a week here to enjoy ourselves after all, no sense in rushing things tonight.” Oh the variety of ways that could be taken.

For his part Cam smiled at Wendy, and took her hand in his own giving a bow. “It would be my pleasure to dance with the beautiful mother of the bride.” There was nothing but sincerity in his voice as he moved out onto the sand with her and began to dance, glad the wedding had gone off without a hitch, Jayme easily moving from one song to another, looking radiant in his own way as he swayed lightly in the background not wanting to take away from this moment.

Urban looked around at his new family, and he of all things brushed a tear from his eyes as he bent to kiss Solange again, a long, deep kiss before he was tugging the garter off her leg and launching it. Directly onto Quinn’s hat, a wolfish grin on his face. “Let your brother ponder that, oh sexy wife of mine.” His words rumbled softly as he kissed her again, everything but her fading to dull roar around him.

Dream moved with Quinn on the sand, leaning on the other more than he’d like, and yet, feeling safe in those same arms. “I like the way you think, sir.” He planned on making up for the winter lodge fiasco here, spending just as much time showing Quinn a good time as the other man would allow.

Cordelia flitted around the couples, taking paired shots as well as group settings with the fading sun to herald them into night. Wendy danced with Cam, showing a natural grace that showed a glimpse of the style that Dream had gotten his from. For once she was glad that her family was whole and happy, even if her eldest daughter hadn’t been able to make it. Now that the pair were hitched, there would be get together and parties, and looking at Quinn and Dream, maybe even another wedding in the future.

Solange covered her mouth to hide her laugh. Just the horrified look on Dream’s face was enough to have her snorting while she laughed, as much as she tried to diffuse it. “He’s your brother now too, oh dear husband. “ She grabbed him by the tie as they kissed, with the wind picking her train off the sand as the last embers of sunlight dropped behind the bad luck of yesterday, ringing in a new life of love, madness, chaos, and total bliss.

After four months of marriage, what do you have to say to the young lovers out there looking to tie the knot?

"Get rid of that vision of daily walks on the beach and rainbows. It's a lot more work than that, but the pay off is sweet. I've got someone who is always going to be in my corner. Yeah, he's kind of an a**, and we get into more scraps just between the two of us than I can count....but I wouldn't trade him for the world. Marrying Urban was the single greatest decision of my life. "

"Just...make sure you know your partner before you start looking at rings. Know what makes them happiest and what sets them off. Try to remember you're not the only one nervous as hell about spending the rest of your life with someone else, and make the journey together."

"Because...let's face it, it's one hell of a ride."

We're Pregnant?!

Solange: Her running out of the bathroom with a home pregnancy tester and waving it around at his face.

Urban: "Ew babe....you got some pee on meeee"

Solange: "Yeah, well, you got sperm in me and now I need new clothes. :/"
.
Urban: "Isn't that where it's supposed to go...and why do you need new clothes? Honestly...waving s**t in my face and all."

Solange: "Because in a couple of months I'm not going to fit in these, kapeesh?" Puts a hand on her hip, stick still in the air. "Urban, you do know what this is, don't you?"

Urban: "A...stick? That smells like urine. What the actual ********> "I know it smells like urine, it has urine on it, but look. If a line shows up then it's negative and if a plus shows up it's positive. What does it look like to you?"

Urban: "******** math symbols. What the hell is with the 20 questions here?"

Solange: "It's positive Urban. I've been here all day with a case of gatorade and a box of these little shits. They all come out the same." Tosses it in the nearest trash can. "It's a pregnancy test, dip s**t. A positive pregnancy test."

Urban: "I can see the little plus. But I don't see wha.....t...that....pregnancy test? ....positive!? Nooo...are you ******** joking?"

Solange: "Do you think I would be pissing on plastic all day if I was joking? It's...it's real, this is happening, this is a thing"

Urban: "Oh s**t. ....oh holy s**t....parents...us? Like...to our own kids...what the hell....holy...crap..."

Solange: "I need a ******** I can't drink, right? That's bad...I...woah s**t."
Looks at him. "Is this good? Are we going to be good? Parents...real parents this time, no shitting"

Urban: "Yeah no drinking. I'll drink for the both of us though. Holy crap. I don't know. I really don't. I mean now we gotta get a crib...and baby clothes and diapers and...oh holy s**t." looks back at her. "They have books on this s**t right? Maybe if we read a book on it..."

Solange: "I don't know if a book is going to help us." Finds a chair and sits down, resting her elbows on her knees with her hands hanging between her legs. "We need a doctor, and vitamins and all that s**t too. Do you..do you know anyone with kids? Someone who can...Wendy! I'll ask Wendy...s**t, she's going to get really gushy"

Urban: "Nope I don't know anyone with kids. The only kids I had anything to do with are the two I couldn't handle being a father to when you got hurt and just....s**t I'm really going to ******** up again I see it." rubs a hand over his face with a sigh and lets out a groan. "We're going to need a lot of s**t. I think tomorrow you'd better make a few phone calls about a doctor and s**t."

Solange: Reaches up to grab his hand. "You're not checking out on me this time, okay? I can't do that again, and this is freaking me out too. We're not going to be perfect, but if you can love me you can love them, right? Is this...look, if this is going to mess with you again I need to know. Now. If it is I can go stay with Dream for a while."

Urban: "What? No. I'm not checking out. You're here. You're safe and sound and whole. You're also not going to go stay with your brother. You're staying here. With me, where I can keep an eye on you. Looks like no more underground fights for you huh babe?" kneels down in front of her, and leans in, pressing a soft kiss to her stomach. "I can't promise you I'll be a perfect father. Or even one you'll like as you get older...but I promise to love you no matter what." looks up at Sol with a soft smile. "We're going to have a baby...wow...."

Solange: "Yeah, good thing I saved up and didn't get that new bike, huh?" Runs a hand through his hair and smiles, content to just watch. "An us baby. Hopefully it has your eyes." Cups his face with her hand and rubs under his eye with the pad of her thumb. "...Just not your personality." Smirks. "I don't know what I would do with two of you."

Urban: "No kidding. Hell, we'll have to get a car that'll fit a kid in it...and a...whats it? Car seat isn't it? Yeah we need a damned book..." looks up at her with a soft smile, smirking after a moment. "Yeah I don't think I could handle a mini-me either. Though you know if it has a mix of both our personalities, we might be sort of screwed."

Solange: "I don't even know how to drive a car, I've always just had my motorcycle. Now I have to drive for ********. We need a baby manual for dummies" Sits back in the chair with a laugh. "We really are. This kid is either going to be wicked awesome or a hell spawn. Probably both, honestly."

Urban: "I'll have to teach you. Later. After the kid is born, we'll get your brother to babysit during drivers ed. Safer that way I think than suddenly the kid screaming in the back and spooking you." snickers some and gives a smile. "Wickedly awesome hell spawn. I can see it now."

Solange: "Dream is going to go through the roof." Chuckles. "I can just see it now. Holding the kid..kid sets his clothes on fire and squeezes his finger so hard it turns blue."

Urban: "How about pukes on his hair...or even on his tails....yeah I don't think we'll have luck with him babysitting. Maybe we should ask Quinn. Might be better off getting him to do it. Or we can get Jayme over to do it. He'd probably be tickled pink. I think you should be the one to tell him as good of friends as you two are. Take tissues in case he cries."

Solange: "Jayme's a good bet, I think, less likely to murder the poor kid. Do you really think he would cry?"

Urban: "Out of happiness? He might. I don't know. I don't see as much of him these days, and that's my fault I know. But I do think he'll be really happy for us in any case. I'm more concerned with Wendy. Your brother is going to laugh his a** off at us I imagine."

Solange: "Wendy's going to want to have a baby shower at some point." She sighed, and ran a hand through her hair. "Dream is going to rib the s**t out of me. 'Kiss your freedom goodbye!' Pfft. He'll make a decent Uncle, but Arceus, is he going to be annoying as s**t"

Urban: "You should let her. Mostly because she'll know what the hell we need in terms of baby stuff. We'll have to get her to come over and look around and make sure that you know....we're not living in a baby death trap." a soft snicker given then. "Like he has much freedom himself. Traveling all over and modeling and s**t. It's no wonder Quinn sold his business to be able to spend time with your brother as little as he's around anymore."

Solange: "Yeah, I'll give her a call tomorrow once all this has sunk in. Jeez, baby proofing. I've seen that s**t in the store; plastic caps and ties everywhere." Shakes her head. "It's a good thing they're not having the kid, right? Where would they find time to fit it in with all that s**t they've got going on. He would probably pull his hair out and die."

Urban: "Toilet seat locks, fridge locks. Cabinet locks...hell it'll lock us out of things if we're too damned tired." there, a loud laugh as he finally got to his feet, and held his hands out to her. "I think I'd laugh at him honestly. I can't see them being parents. Then again I could say the same about us. Now then. I guess we should make sure we have things here to eat that are good for you and the baby.....s**t we'll have to be responsible adults now."

Solange: "Toilet seat locks? Oh s**t..." She took his hands and stood. "At least we've got a steady place, right? And sort of steady work, even if it isn't high class." Curls her nose. "You're not going to be that guy, are you? Like, you're not going to take away my hot wings and make me eat celery and s**t right? If you bring soy into this house so help me..."

Urban: "No s**t. Literally if we can't get that lock open. That won't be needed till our little critter is wandering around raising hell. Though that could be pretty damned early on for all I know." a laugh given as he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her close. "Nah. So long as it doesn't make you sick, eat what you want. I'll just stuff you full of vitamins and s**t."

Solange: Wraps her arms around him and smiles. "Good. Because I could go for some hot wings right now, and pregnant ladies get what they want, right? I wanted a beer earlier, but juice is good too. And I'm cool with vitamins. This is...wow, just wow."

Urban: "Hot wings and juice is good. No beer. I'll even be nice and get rid of the beer and stuff in the house. I'll call Quinn and Dream and see if they want it. If you have to go dry, I'll do it with you." a smile as he bent to kiss her softly. "This is definitely wow. Parents. Just....damn. This'll be different knowing its ours. Hopefully we'll do better this time."

Solange: "Thanks for the sentiment babe, but you don't have to do it. I'll be fine without it." Traces her fingers down his hip. "We're older now, better settled. Hopefully that'll be enough."

Urban: "I can do without it too. There's other things in life I can't do without, and that's in my arms right now." arms curling a little tighter around her waist. "How urgently did you want those wings babe? Now? Or do you want to celebrate the soon to be arrival first?" grins at her a moment. "Not like I can knock you up after all..."

Solange: "Pfft." She laughed, and leaned back to look at him. "You've got a point. It's not like I can get anymore pregnant, right? I think a little celebration is in order, my dear husband~"

Urban: "Then lets go celebrate being older and wiser and more settled, and all that...then I'll order you wings from your favorite place while you call your brother to come get the booze out of the house. Wonder if you'll get any weird cravings..." looks thoughtful as he nips at her neck before walking her backwards towards their room.

Solange: "We can start doing taxes and go to PTA meetings and s**t...." She shivered on a moan. "...later, much later." She pushed him towards the door with a grin. "I've got a pretty strong craving right now."

Mommy To Be

Solange walked out of the clinic with her hood flared up around her ears. She walked to the parking lot at a slow shuffle, finding the pictures in her pocket. When she pulled them out, and looked at the little jelly bean that was her baby she felt true fear.

There was no denying it now. She and Urban would be parents soon to a biological child. When the ultrasound technician had been called in she hadn’t thought it was necessary. Surely she wasn’t so far along? But there it was. Just a little runt of a baby, but it was there, all the same. No one knew if she needed a Poke’mon physician or a Human gynecologist, so some specialists were going to called no doubt.

Solange stopped just short of her motorcycle, and slipped the pictures back into her pocket. Thankfully it zipped so there was no worry about losing them before the evidence got back to Urban.

She was…happy. Really, really happy. Terrified out of her mind, but ecstatic. She hadn’t wanted to tell him, but Solange had wanted a baby for a while. There was just that worry that Urban wasn’t in his happy place, that she wouldn’t be able to provide for ********, that she could even care for one. Solange’s tail wagged back and forth happily when she placed a hand on her stomach. Somewhere in her womb was a little one that was the perfect mixture of her husband and herself. It was so crazy to think of!

“Your daddy’s gonna panic for a while, kiddo. He had a bad spell a while back, but he’s a good guy. You just have to learn to ignore him sometimes.” She mounted her bike, and for the first time in her life reached for a helmet. Normally she didn’t bother with them, but until she got a proper car, she had to try to protect them as best she could; even if it was just her head.

Solange flexed her fingers in her leather gloves, and started up the cruiser. We’re going to need a LOT of stuff. She needed to go pick up vitamins, then there were more appointments, and maybe just maybe she could convince Urban to move to a three bedroom apartment. If we do that then you’ll have a playroom. Some place you can run while, and actually be allowed to tear s**t up. Arceus, what if she wasn’t ready?

If Urban checked out on her again…Solange shook her head. She backed her bike out of the parking space, then started out onto the street. She HAD to trust him. If she didn’t then they were doomed from the start, and if he did go off she would have to leave. It wasn’t something she wanted to do, but this kid was worth more than that. Urban was a good man. If he wasn’t she wouldn’t have stayed. She wanted his child more than anything in this world because as much as she teased him about it, she wanted to have a little more of him in the world.

She stopped at a red light and looked over to see a mother of two walking her little ones across the street. They were bundled up so tight they waddled, and it was the cutest damn thing she’d seen in ages. Note to self; buy embarrassing winter suits and take pictures.. Arceus above, shopping. She groaned behind her visor. She was going to have to buy so much, but…maybe she could cheat and just do it all online?

And like hell was she wearing pregnancy clothes! She wasn’t going to be some cutesy wife sitting on a pedestal while little old women came to a baby shower she didn’t want. Solange planned on stealing all of Urban’s shirts, and wearing them. Her jeans were low rise anyway, so whatever belly she got would still work in them, right?

Solange wiggled a little on her bike. She wanted what that mother had! Little ones to look up at her and hold their hands to be held. That sort of trust…it really did her wonders. And if anyone so much as looked at her baby funny she would use their spine as her kid’s jump rope.

Wendy would need to be called, and Dream…hell, depending on his reaction, it might be Dream’s spine in that scenario. Hopefully her brother would be more supportive than that, though. Quinn would be. And Jayme! She wanted to share this with her best friend, but a phone call didn’t do it justice. Maybe after she got her vitamins…

The light switched to green, and the soon to be mother sped off to the Pharmacy. I never really thought about being a mom before. s**t, I barely wanted to be a wife, but for you kid I’ll be anything you need.

And I can’t wait to be your mom.
