NPC (Riled Townsfolk)
The villagers were assembling something further down towards teh shore, but a few that were gathering supplies stopped to answer her question. "Oyy, we thought of a plan to lure the monster out. I'm sure it's always got an eye out. We can't get at it, because we collapsed all the tunnels that would have led underwater to it. We were afraid for our young children who would want to go exploring." The man stopped, looking embarrassed, and rushed onwards with his load of wood. Another looked over with a knowing shrug and continued it for him. "So, the plan we had was that if the monster absolutely won't tolerate boats on its "territory", then we'll just send one right on out. We're making a large boat that we'll tow out there. We keep the lines out of the water, and it might not see them. It should go for the bigger boat first, but once we get it above surface, that'd be your opportunity if you had a plan. We're gonna let it attack this big boat here, and then we're in range to try and hit it. If nothing else, we swim back to shore. Shinji's right though, we did collapse the tunnels because of the threat to our children that they would self-impose if they went exploring. Additionally, it's impossible to get down there, every one of those tunnels is flooded with water at some point. No man can hold his breath long enough to even get down to either an ending point in the tunnel, or to the lair itself. We know it's down there though. Anyway, we're basically done now. We don't need an actual sail, so if you're ready, just say the word, and we'll start our plan in action, sound good?" The man lifted an eyebrow, and turned his head towards the boat, before nodding as he got a thumbs-up. The men, so motivated, had built a somewhat cobbled together, medium-sized ship. It wouldn't float for long, but they were hinging on its mere shadow outside to attract it.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny nodded. As previously stated, she found it inspiring they were going this far to defend their village. Honestly, she would've found a way to draw the monster out herself (...would throwing rocks out there work?) but their plan was much, much, much, much better. "Just put me on the big ship, and I'm ready when you are." Sunny replied, her usual, high-pitched, childish voice making her sound a good seven years younger. "And... it's understandable. Blocking off the passageways, I mean. The children should always come first, right?" Sunny smiled cheerily up to the man, then looked back to the ocean. It looked so calm, it almost seemed impossible a monster would be there. Sunny frowned; I guess everything is possible to an extent.

NPC (Riled Townsfolk)
The villager nodded, and ran off to inform the others of the plan. Before he got there though, the island shook, and a strange shape moved swiftly under the water. One could verily say that it almost fully encircled the island by the time its body ceased coming out. The waves sent up nearly destroyed the makeshift boat, and capsized the smaller craft. Like the bartender had said, it looked like a pale streak under the water. On the other side of the island, the latest ship from the marines' trade venture had just arrived at the barrier reef. Also docked there were vessels that had been warned to arrive on that side due to the monster's dislike of the area. However, that was exactly where it was heading.
Alka Masaomamono
Alka had been wondering why nothing ventured into her area before...and now she knew. She'd bolted out on a chance that there would have been something...it had been too long since she'd seen anything, marine vessel or other type of ship. Sure enough though, there were larger ships, but one further out caught her attention. Lined with sea stone, that automatically identified it as a marine vessel, or at the least, a vessel that needed to be destroyed first. Of course, the marines saw it coming, and had begun to try to evade. That failed as Alka pushed off the bottom, and threw her hands up above the water's edge. Latching onto the ship as one would catch a football, she simply allowed herself to fall prey to gravity, and instantly the ship sunk under. Bits and pieces of the ship then rose to the surface, and maybe a marines hat or two. Her figure could then almost be clearly seen darting from the wreck up towards the other vessels. Clearly, today was that of a decisive one anyway.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxThe minute Sunny saw the streak, she was astounded. No wonder it'd been causing so many incidents; but the real problem was where the creature was headed. Luna was in a boat on that side of the island!! Bowing her head in such a way her bangs covered her eyes, Sunny clenched her fists. If one looked closely, Sunny appeared to be glowing, reflecting sunlight dully at first, then brighter and brighter. "Nikko Nikko no Safa!" Sunny leapt about a foot off the ground, and a bright streak of light appeared beneath her feet. Sunny landed with both feet on a surf board made completely out of sunshine. "Capsizing innocent marines is bad, but if you put my sister in danger I'll murder you!" Rushing off to honor her shout, Sunny sped off across the island, both deer horn knives raised high.

NPC (Riled Townsfolk)
As shocked as they were, they took a moment to get hold of themselves, but realized that that was where the majority of the village lived, and more importantly, their families! With a semi-unified battle cry, they charged back, though only at a human's running pace. Far behind Sunny, they still ran onward. For if they did nothing and their loved ones were killed in any way, then all would have been for naught. Nothing artificial in the village mattered any longer, not after what this monster had surprised them with. It had to be dealt with here, and now. Once they got within throwing range, a few of them started readying their weapons to throw at it...waiting for the monster to surface. It was...inevitable.
Alka Masaomamono
Alka did indeed surface, but it wasn't what rose first. Amidst her rising mass, she held a ship in her clutches. Gripped firmly in her right hand was one of the ships. A bright shape was tearing towards her, and presumed it to be the primary enemy. However, at that speed, she doubted she'd hit her with such a clumsy weapon. So instead, she spied a larger, slower moving group. Ahh yes...the villagers. So they were finally tired of her and were trying to be rid of her. No doubt they put this other one up to it. Taking aim, Alka hurled it down towards them. It might look like a badly aimed shot at Sunny herself, but its downward arc would be square on the charging villagers. It crashed into the sands in their midst, most of them diving out of the way, but ultimately crushing a few of them with it. To deal with this ray of sunshine, Alka twisted her torso to plant both hands onto the ground. Trying to gauge the distance, she dove back into the water. Supported by the water's tendency to make acrobatics much easier, she began to spin, rotating on her palms, placing and replacing them closer and closer. Before long, her tail had not only whipped the waters into a white frenzy, and was airborne, aiming to connect with Sunny's approaching form like a bat to a baseball.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny's eyes widened at the boat that was hurled at the villagers; why them?! What kind of terrible creature was this thing? Sunny stopped moving, ready to go down and assist the villagers, but the beast was making a large attack with sea water; and Sunny could see their boat from the air; while it was still tethered, waves were violently rocking it. Sunny clenched her fists and shot upward, however, not fast enough to avoid getting hit. The tail hit the bottom left corner of her board, sending her spinning in circles, spiraling towards the water. Sunny recovered quickly, though. Her board just narrowly scraped the water's surface as she righted herself and went higher, hoping the creature would emerge. From what Sunny had seen, it was scaly- and large scales like that wouldn't be effected by deer horn knives. Sunny put the knives back in their proper hooks, frowning. I may have to get pretty serious pretty fast, here.

Alka Masaomamono
The tail that had connected wobbled clearly and collapsed into the water, submerging her on a whole. Alka drifted to the bottom, dizzy and almost nauseous from that move. Clearly...not my best...i-idea..ugh...ooghf...do not vomit, do not vomit..I'm always sick afterwards and then I'm hungry...Gghh, if it wasn't for these stupid villagers, I wouldn't HAVE this mess to deal with. It's MY island! Alka thought as she recovered. That obnoxious light was still moving, apparently looking for her or something. Well, if defeating her would win the battle...why not go for it? She pondered beneath the waves whether or not she was gauging the distance correctly, but decided there would always be a chance for a secondary opportunity. Coiling her lower half under her, she pushed upward, leaping out of the water to try and physically grab this light source that taunted her so. If she could grab it, the battle would be completely over.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny saw the figure coming after her; oh yes, she saw it as plain as the daylight around her. However, she had a defense with the ability to knock ones socks off. "Nikko Nikko no Taiyo Shomeidan!" Even as she yelled the attack, the sunlight seemed to intensify around Sunny. Particles of sunlight came together in Sunny's outstretched, open palms to create a large orb. As the beast resurfaced, Sunny aimed the orb at her. The orb was growing larger and larger, ready to strike out at any given minute; and then, suddenly, it vanished. The board vanished as well, and Sunny started to plummet straight towards the water. Luckily, Sunny regained composure once more. With a yell of, "Nikko Nikko no Safa!" Sunny's surf board reappeared, and she went straight towards the shore, landing gently and allowing the board to disappear. Panting lightly, Sunny had broken into a sweat, but that wasn't what stopped the fight. "Did you see that?" Sunny asked some of the nearest villagers. "It's... it's a girl."

Alka Masaomamono
The light's magnification had seemingly had an alternate effectiveness. Alka seemed almost...blinded by it, as her hands quickly made to her face, covering her eyes as she toppled back over, making a writhing motion before flipping over and wriggling back underwater, where she crawled off, intent on returning to her den....of course, that presumed that she could find it. Her eyes squeezed shut, she was relying on feeling to find it. Either way, she was clearly not interested in pressing the fight any longer.
NPC (Regrouping Townsfolk)
To the villagers who'd survived the initial blow and had enough wits and stamina about them, they came straggling over, panting hard from it. "Wh-where'd it....go? I-It's gotta p-pay," one of them managed to say, before huffing with hands on knees. More of them half-heartedly grunted similar "approvals" of the statement, but none of them appeared to be in any shape to continue a chase. The man first referred to as Shinji finally arrived, albeit with a piece of wood through his arm. As he looked out and heard Sunny's words, he sighed and wondered what relevance that all had. "Oh...ohkay...so it's a girl monster....pardon my ignorance...but what exactly...does that have to do with...with anything?" His tone wasn't one of anger, but perhaps tired frustration. A chance to defeat it, and they were back to square one. It was still alive, the marine trade for a while was non-existent....and there was a lot of collateral damage to be undone. To Shinji and the others, this seemed like a rather crushing defeat.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny frowned. The destruction she'd caused was enormous, and for a minute, Sunny regretted not launching that final attack. But it looked like a girl... a human girl. At least, part of it is human. Sunny thought, I wonder if I could reason with it... Sunny frowned, looking back to the group. They were heavily injured; it didn't matter for the moment. Rather the girl was willing to listen to reason or not was beyond Sunny, and she at least wanted to give it a shot, but now there were more important things to worry about. "It... doesn't really matter. Let's get you to a doctor; that looks painful." As it was in her nature to, Sunny started taking charge of the situation. "Men! Drop your arms; those who aren't too badly injured, help the ones who can't help themselves! Are there any doctors on the island? Let's start a head count on the injured, dead and wounded." A seed of doubt welled in Sunny's chest, though. She'd caused this by not finishing the attack, by not being quick enough to block the girl's attacks. In a small way, this was Sunny's fault, and that tore her up inside. Still, she had to be strong and do as her instincts told her; and at the moment, the most important thing was giving the injured first aid.

NPC (Villagers)
Most of the remaining villagers were already trying to get their fellow men free and assessing injuries. The man named Shinji seemed to be in charge of things associated with the villager efforts, and shook his head. "Three dead, another six injured, and probably about 100,000 beli worth in damages. For nothing..." He muttered, dragging along one of the injured. While yes, he was injured, at least he was capable of moving on his own two feet. He paused and looked at Sunny with a resigned expression on his face. "Back to square one, huh? We'll take care of ourselves, but see if you can get a plan together...it's not likely we've seen the end of this violent clashing yet. Probably won't until we are or it...er...she is dead. Not much in the way of doctors, but we all know basic first aid. I've got a bit of a plan myself, but give me a moment to get this guy into the bar and get the wood out of my arm, and I'll be back." He seemed to almost anticipate questions, and perhaps was used to being asked them. Still, a lot of his worries seemed very real then.
...
A short while later, he re-emerged, just finishing tightening a makeshift bandaging around his arm. "All right then....I don't know if you've had enough time to come up with a plan, but if you do, let's hear it. If not...I've got a plan...one that should work this time."

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny nodded. While Shinji did some first aid on himself and others, Sunny had done a fair share of helping herself. Nikko Nikko no Safa was good for more than just carting Sunny around above the ground; she used it to help some paralyzed men out from under the wreckage of the ship the girl had thrown. Sunny couldn't help but notice it; she wasn't calling her a monster anymore, but a girl. She had to admit to herself she did have a plan. A plan the villagers wouldn't be too fond of. She wanted to talk to the girl; but since the villagers wouldn't like it, Sunny decided to keep it to herself. "Okay, I'm listening. What's the plan?"

NPC (Shinji)
Shinji nodded, and after rubbing his arm a bit, looked over towards the northwestern end of the island before speaking. "Over there. As we had initially planned, we wanted to confront...uhm....her, at the lair itself, so as to distance our families from any possible battles. It seems we were too naive and left our rear unguarded. Anyway, I assume you have a plan, but in order to effectively put yours into effect, we might have to utilize my plan first. It's a simple one, truly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're a devil fruit user, and thus, cannot swim. So, assuming that's true, there'd be no way you could get at her presently. My plan involves the "way of the farmer". Which is to dig up the worm and reap from there. Now, the "worm" is buried underwater, so it's not directly traditional. What we have planned is, with some mining, we have a bit of resources to make some improvised explosives. We blow open a hole, and from there you have access to the lair. I know it's hollowed out, because if...she...lives there, there has to be a space big enough. My only problem lies within lacking the depth...or thickness of the rock separating us from her....but before I go on, you seem to have something on your mind. I assume Jun...the bartender, has already spoken to you earlier, presumably about "the monster". Nosy man, he is. If he has, then feel free to speak of your plan. He basically runs the town, owning the trading hub, as it were." Shinji spoke a mouthful, explaining both his plan, and how he thought that Sunny had a plan of her own, and might not have been so willing to share it with him and the others.

☾ The Twin Captains of the Night and Day Pirates x ☼ ♦◊ Luna & Sunny ◊♦ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ xxxxxSunny scowled- or, rather, it was more of a pout. She couldn't put anything past this guy, could she? Sighing, she prepared to admit what she wanted to do. "I want to talk to her." Sunny said, bluntly. "Whatever she is is part human; I want to try and reason with her. At the very least I want to know why she's doing this. I know it's hard to accept when someone's been bullying you for a long time, but sometimes things are best solved with peace. However, I promise if she won't listen, I'll fight." Part of her felt like she was betraying them by even suggesting this, but the other was firm in her beliefs, and that meant giving the girl a chance.

NPC (Shinji)
Shinji merely nodded his head. It seemed right, because blinding an opponent and then not following up was that of a mercy gesture towards the opponent, and generally one more interested in gaining an ally instead of a kill notch on their sword. "Mmm. Well, nice to see my powers of perception haven't gone completely bad," he chuckled. "Though, I'll admit, more than half of it was complete phooey and bluffing. Anyway, so how do you plan on getting to this...girl, when you're a devil fruit user and your target is a giantess who lives underwater and doesn't have to come up?"
