"Neither can I. Touchy guy," the trainee replied, shrugging. "It was pretty funny to see his face change colors, though. The comment I made on that complexion might have been crossing the line a little, but by then I was too irritated with his childish behavior to care."

Izaya giggled maliciously. "You want me to be more specific? Okay, let me put it this way: you won't not like them, but you may end up liking them so much that you'll hate yourself for liking them." Waiting patiently to be told the answer to his question, he raised a brow at the mention of prank groups of grunts. "Eh? You mean like the ones who stole the soap in the bathrooms?" he asked. "They actually have established groups? Wait, don't tell me you're a part of one of those groups; not a picture-perfect grunt like you."

Rubbing the spot where he was being repeatedly poked, Nakura gave a sheepish smile. After all, he technically hadn't lied. Yet. "Do I seem like a nice person to you, Xander-kun?" he asked. The past lovers comment surprised him mildly, though. It seemed the young man was more open with his past love life than most people would have been. "Mmmm...maybe you should start," he jeered. "We all know your heart belongs to Frosty-chan, but that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun on the side, does it? You said we're friends right?" he snickered. "Ever had any friends with benefits?"

"Well maybe next time you should just keep your head down so to speak and try not to set of Mt. Seth?" Xander said with a shrug. It sounded to him that Izaya needed lessons on when to keep quiet and Seth just plain needed anger management therapy. Not that you would ever catch him saying that last one out loud.

Nakura's giggling and words left Xander slightly uneasy but not all that much as usually gave people the benefit of the doubt before blowing the whistle. Especially when he was friends with said person. "I'll be sure to remember that then." he said with a neutral tone of voice before he grinned. "Yes like them. You honestly didn't know about the groups? Eh, Mr. Information Broker?" Ok, moving on from the teasing again. "Nope I'm not in the groups." Not from lack of interest from either group however as he had been asked to join a few times.

"Basically there are two groups of pranksters in the grunt rank, Group A and Group B. Not very original but then again they aren't trying for that." There had been weird names for the groups supposedly when they were first established but that was a long time ago from what he heard. "The groups keep to small numbers, four to six at a time, and mainly only mess with each other in mini prank wars." Mainly as Group A liked to harass new grunts like with the stolen soap and Group B liked to harass the trainees at times.

"When you want to be you can be a nice person." He had seen a few signs of that even if Izaya his self wasn't aware of them. He blushed at the mention of Frost even though he gave a glare at Izaya. "Drop the nickname." It annoyed Frost and it just made him want ice cream so no, Izaya should drop it at least around Frost and him. "Friends with benefits always turn complicated, and rarely do people stay friend after wards if things don't work out. Besides I don't fool around anyway." So what if it was weird, he was rather proud of keeping his self a virgin for so long as compared to some people that would remain nameless.

"It was actually very entertaining," Nakura laughed. "Less so when he decided to stop responding to my remarks and just plain rough-house me, but it was fun while it lasted." Shrugging, the dropped his head to one side regretfully. "Unfortunately, I promised my recruiting agent I wouldn't cause any more trouble for the time being, so I have to make every effort to obey my superiors. Which, as it happens, also includes you."

"If you hadn't noticed, Grunt Xander, I've been mildly occupied with spending a few endless weeks in the brig and then being taken out only to enter into rigorous training while my bullet wound was healing. I haven't exactly had much of a chance or an incentive to go around poking my nose into things like the theft of communal bathroom soap bars."

Although he still wore his snarky expression, the edge to his voice indicated the man's underlying irritation. He didn't like to be picked on, especially concerning his job as an information seeker and as a man who prided himself on being well-informed. He may not have said so directly, but Xander's words really irked him. Still, he allowed the blonde to continue. For all he knew, the grunt was making all of this up to make him look bad.

"An organization within an organization. Scandalous," he muttered. "Prank wars, eh? How childishly adorable." Neither seemed worth much investigation - they probably each just consisted of bored Rockets with nothing better to do - but it might have been fun to mess with the sides. Anyway, he still had a bone to pick with whichever group had stolen the soap bars. "So - why are you bringing them up?"

Looking blank for a minute, Nakura laughed as Xander insisted he could be nice when he wanted. "Anyone can be nice if they want to be, Xandy-kun," he giggled gleefully. A little over-the-top, maybe, but it was to make up for his initial surprise at hearing such a statement.

"The fact of it is, though, being nice is no fun at all. Boring, boring, boring. It's far too predictable how people will react when you're nice to them." Implying, of course, that he was never nice if he could help it. Xander must have been seeing things that weren't there. At least that's what Izaya managed to convince himself.

"Yes, sir!" the trainee replied, sporting a mock salute at Xander's order to drop the nickname. The teen's blushing was giving him enough satisfaction to obey the order and still be pleased with himself. The simple knowledge of what irritated the boy gave what Izaya liked to think of as power over him - as he sought to have over all humans. "Oh? I'm not a very complicated person and I'm on good terms with almost everybody, but if that's the way you want to be, suit yourself." He patted his arm in false pity. "Just be careful not to wait too long, or you'll end up a sexually-repressed mental-case like Fro- ah, Frost-san."
PostPosted: Thu Jun 02, 2011 6:07 pm

"You enjoy verbal spars a lot don't you?" The teen asked with a laugh. "Well I shall reign in the temptation of abusing that then." Xander said in regards to him having rank over Izaya. Not that he would abuse his rank anyway as it just wasn't in him.

"How has it been healing anyway? Were there any complications because of training?" he asked with a concerned look at the shoulder in question. When he picked up on the irritation he gave an apologetic smile. He made a mental not to reign in his teasing a bit more. "Hmm, true enough. And I'm sure you will get caught up on everything soon enough."

"They may be childish, but it helps kill tension and quite a few higher ups look the other way if it's confined wars and doesn't interfere with anyone jobs." He gave Izaya a side glance and a grin. "Why did I bring it up? Currently the two groups are at a standstill and have been for a while. I was wondering if you would like to... stir up a bit of fun between the two." If any higher up asked he was a good little grunt who hadn't toed the line with the rules. Anyone else that wouldn't tell on him? He's already started two wars in his time with in Team Rocket.

"Of course they can." Xander agreed, not bothered by the new nickname. "What's interesting is when they are nice with out even truly noticing it or meaning to be Iza-kun." He gave a small smirk to the brunette. "Really? So being mean or annoying is never predictable and boring?" He kept any farther comments to his self but kept the knowing smile on his lips.

At the salute Xander let out a peel of surprised laughter, not having expected the quick answer nor the action. "Oh I'm sure your more complicated then you look." And there was another tease, needed to stop that. "I think I would rather wait then end up regretting something." he said and had an amused look at the almost slip Nakura made.

"Hey, words and information are almost all I have," Nakura answered defensively. "No physical strength, no powerful authority, no genius intelligence, no martial arts. Just a will to observe, my love of humans, my wit, my looks, my knife, and my parkour skills - which, I might add, is mostly utilized toward my survival." Why had Aila recruited him again? Was it just to make him feel small? He was at least 4 years Xander's elder and a rank inferior. Nevertheless, he sensed Xander wasn't the sort to hold that fact over him.

The crimson-eyed man smiled in response to Xander's concern. "There you go again with that sympathetic act. It's really starting to scare me, Xander-kun; I thought you only reserved that sort of caring, tender sentimentality for your roommate," he told him, completely bypassing the grunt's question.

He subtly turned his shoulder away from the teen as he spoke, hoping to change the topic. He wouldn't have Xander worry about him. No emotional involvement with clients or co-workers; not even one-sided concern. Izaya wouldn't allow it. "He was the one injured worse than me in that escapade. If not by the bullet that grazed him, than by his damaged ribs that only got worse."

The higher-ups ignored the prank wars? That was something to note. Maybe he could get away with more if he could convince others it was under the jurisdiction of one of the prank groups. Framing people - now that was something he enjoyed doing. What was more, since both sides were against each other, none would suspect an outsider to have framed either one or the other. Each group would suspect their opposing team. Yes, this was starting to sound more and more inviting.

Nakura beamed brilliantly at the grinning grunt. "I thought you'd never ask~! What do we do? When do we start? Do you have anything in mind?"

"..." He pouted a little at the implication that he may have been nice on accident. "It's not the being mean or annoying that isn't predictable," he explained. "It's the reactions you get from it. Also, it isn't as easy to annoy people as one might think. It's an art-form, and you have to find out a lot about a person before you know what really irritates them and why."

Laughing aloud at Xander's last statement, Izaya leaned an arm against a wall to support himself as he clutched at his side with his other arm, drawing in air in gasps. "Most - most people," he breathed between gasps, "- are worried - about regretting the time - that they - spend waiting." He waited a little more for his laughter to die down before righting himself and continuing. "But I guess that doesn't apply to you, does it, considering you already have someone in mind?"

With a sly smirk, he recomposed himself and started down the hall. "Come on. I want to get down to business already. They'll catch on to us if we stick around here talking for too long."
PostPosted: Thu Jun 02, 2011 8:58 pm

"I never said verbal sparring was bad, I enjoy it my self some times." Xander said with a grin. Not all the times mind, but sometimes verbal sparring was fun to do. "And hey, a lot of people don't even have what you have, everyone has to deal with the cards they have."

"I can be concerned for all my friends, not just only on Frost you know." Xander said at the reflection. "And you never answered my question." he crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at Izaya. He wasn't about to tell Izaya the sleepless nights, or ones where he got very little sleep, over making sure Frost was ok. He wasn't even sure if Frost his self was aware just how much he had been cared for in his sleep.

"Well first of all we have to get the stuff recently taken by Group A as there have been a few more grunts. That's something I do so they will know it was me who did that." he warned. "But after that we go mess with Group B's base and leave evidence that it was Group A." If they used timed pranks then they could make it seem that the first group were behind it.

"If you say so Izaya." he said and shrugged. He didn't really go out of his way usually to annoy people so he would have to take his word for it.

The blush was back on Xander's face only this time it was a mix of embarrassment and irritation. "Hush you. I thought we were over the fact I don't have a 'normal' take in the realms of sexual contact." he said and rolled his eyes. "And I would still think that even if I didn't have someone in mind Iza." He did however follow after him when he started to walk. "Sure, though I know for a fact we have..." He looked at his watch, "Two hours before Group A starts to get off shift and three for Group B."

"I prefer to think of it more as...philosophical reasoning," Nakura replied. "But whatever floats your boat~" He suddenly grabbed Xander's arm and linked his own with it. "Awww, tell me moooore," he crooned. "Hehe, or better yet - tell me what your cards are. Besides that hot body I saw in the showers, of course."

Releasing the teen as soon as he'd grabbed him, Izaya waved a hand carelessly. "Very funny," he sneered. "Nakura doesn't have any friends. Never did and never will. Why don't you keep all that mushy stuff to yourself and Frost, neh? There's a good boy." Although the blonde said nothing, Izaya could already tell he was the sort to worry excessively about those he cared about. He himself wasn't about to have a concerned Xander on his conscience.

"Right. First of all, what is this stuff? Second, where do we get it? Third, how will they know it's you if they have Group B to worry about? Fourth, where is Group B's base? And fifth, what evidence would we leave to point to Group A?" It seemed like a lot of information for Xander to know without belonging to either group, and Izaya was starting to grow increasingly suspicious. The grunt had to know a thing or two about the identities of the group members on either side.

How cute - that blush again! "Ah, yes - only 'Frost's take', which can't be considered normal no matter how you look at it." Poking Xander back in revenge for the previous pokes, he added, "If you didn't have someone in mind already, Xandy-kun, by now I'd have you wrapped around my finger and half-way down my throat," he mumbled, hurrying onward. "Ikuzo? Lead the way. I have no idea where we're going."

Xander was surprised when he was grabbed but didn't make make a big deal of it, especially since he was let go right away anyway. "How about you tell me what you've noticed and I'll fill the blanks?" He asked with a grin. He was curious to see what the other had noticed and how far off he might or might not have been on things.

"Well then, since Nakura doesn't have friends I'll just have to be friends with Izaya Orihara." he said with a hand wave similar to Izaya's. "Being friends isn't all mushy stuff you know." He would still end up worrying about him even if the Trainee didn't want him too.

"The stuff is just soap and the like as they are the ones that pull that prank, it's kept in the leader and seconds of the groups room. I'm the one who regularly takes back the items taken and they know this." They didn't retaliate because they didn't really want to get into trouble for permanently stealing stuff that was technically TR property. "Group B's base is there leader and seconds room, it happens to be in the opposite side of the dorms as Group A's." Izaya didn't have to be suspicious as Xander had just learned all of the information one time when he was back on base during his two years of roaming. But since it wasn't likely for said suspicions to be voiced, Xander would know to bring it up.

"Normal is a relative term that no one really understands. There is no true normal." Xander said and started to fight back the blush. He gave Izaya an amused look at his statement though. "Oh? Who said I would have been interested in you if I didn't have Frost? And what was the last bit Iza-kun?" he asked, truly puzzled on the last muttered bit. "Then you should have let me lead in the first place." he laughed then turned Izaya around to walk the way they had come from.

"I already did tell you," the trainee replied dismissively. "At least about the one good quality I know you posses. Then there are a lot of useless, stupid qualities you have that I suppose could be played as cards, because some people find them attractive, but certainly not me. Like your tendency to fret excessively, your brooding, motherly concern, your unnecessary over-protectiveness, your idiotic kindness toward your teammates - need I go on?"

As they continued down the corridor, Izaya frowned. He was careful to keep looking straight ahead in order to keep Xander from seeing, but for a split second, his irritation was apparent. "Who's that, now?" he continued in a bright, cheery tone as he readopted his sinister smirk. "Never heard of him. Sure, maybe friendship isn't all mushy stuff. But you know what friendship is?"

He paused a moment, allowing his annoyance to calm a bit before continuing. This grunt just wouldn't give up. "It's a good way to get what you want out of people who think you care about them. I've warned you before, and this time is the last time I'm doing it again. You're soft, Xander. Anyone can see that. You'd better learn to make up for your weaknesses before someone decides to take advantage of them; most likely one of your very closest 'friends'." His sinister grin broadened as he looked at the blond. "Don't invite me to be the first."

Listening idly as Xander answered his previous questions, Nakura continued walking at a steady pace, hands in the pockets of his parka. He carefully stored the information in his organized mind like files in a cabinet. It didn't sound like anything of importance, but one never knew when such info could come in handy. "Ahh...so if it's missing, then Group A will have expected you to have returned to the stolen items to their proper location while in reality we will use said items to incriminate them."

Tapping a thoughtful forefinger against his chin, the trainee nodded in understanding and laughed. "Hahaha~ I like it. Subtle, simple, but just chaotic enough to stir things up. And tell that bit about 'no true normal' to Agent Frost. He seems to think there is, and that he's not it." His mischievous grin grew so wide at Xander's inquiry about what he had mumbled that it threatened to split his face. "Forget it~ It was nothing of importance. Ahaha, silly me..." Turning on his heel, Izaya turned to follow after.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 28, 2011 8:44 pm

Xander laughed at just how quickly Izaya was quick to write off things that could be strengths into weaknesses. "Nah you don't have to continue on. I know you wont change your mind right now." He might be able to convince him other wise later but for now he was fine with letting Izaya think as he wish.

He saw that. He gave Izaya an amused smirk and a chuckle. "Denial, really?" he lightly teased before shaking his head at the other man. "Of course I know what it is, the question is more along the line of do you know what it is? And not just from a text book point of view?"

He folded his hands behind his back as they walked, still keeping an eye on Izaya. "Not everyone is out to get you, you know. Sometimes people sincerely like others and their company. Just because you think I'm soft doesn't mean I am, just as just because you believe your self untouchable to emotions doesn't mean you are." he said with a pointed look. It might have been a bit presumptuous of him to say so but that's how his friend sometimes acted. "And sometimes weaknesses are hidden strengths, to be burned isn't unusual until you get that." He thought back to his ex and his eyes hardened briefly before they lightened and he went back to shoving those thoughts away.

"Pretty much." Xander said once Izaya got his plan. "Nothing very elaborate but it is still something to do and it is always fun to see the outcome." he smirked and agreed with the laughing trainee. "Ah well, Frost would get it if I told him but he would still act the same as that's how he is." he said with a warm smile. The smile turned curious and he eyed the other. "If you say so Iza..."

"Change my mind now?" Izaya laughed. "What makes you think you could ever change my mind? It's not like you're anyone special to me or anything," the trainee stated bluntly. "And even if you were, there's no way you could change my mind about things like that. What's there to change my mind about, anyway? I was just stating what I've observed about you."

Waving a careless hand at Xander's chuckle he shook his head. "Not denial~ Just playing it safe. A certain info broker from Camphoreon is laying low, so I'm going to do him a favor and stick to pretending I don't know him." Unable to help rolling his eyes, Nakura heaved a great sigh. "I know I don't need it in my profession and it's a waste of time. Possibly even dangerous to me. That's all I need to know about it."

"See? This is exactly what I mean," the trainee retorted. "Naturally not everyone is out to get me, but it's safer to pretend they are so you can prepare for the worst. I'm a cautious man. You are so obscenely nice that it hurts. It doesn't matter if people sincerely like you; humans are fickle. They can change their mind in an instant and you'll have never seen it coming. If you're not soft, you're going to have to prove it to me, because there has been no evidence to the contrary since I met you." He blinked and stopped to look at Xander at the comment about his emotions.

"Nani?" he asked. "What are you talking about? You should be telling that to Frost, not me! Really, Xander-kun, you shouldn't get us mixed up so often or one day you could make a fatal mistake. You're wasting your words on the wrong person. I love humans! By that simple act alone, I embrace my emotions! Frost's very name already announces his apathy. Go bother him about being 'untouchable' - literally or emotionally; it doesn't matter."

The brunette noticed the hardness in the grunt's eyes as Xander spoke of getting burned. So, maybe he has some experience after all. Why, then, does he act as if he hasn't learned anything from it? However, he wasn't interested enough at the moment to ask. If Xander still wanted to play the fool regardless of Nakura's warnings, that was his own choice - as long as he kept him out of it.

"I think you need to find a better pasttime if you've got nothing better to do than this," the older man told Xander with a pitying smile. "Still, I guess since I'm grounded, I've got nothing better to do either, so we'll go with your plan. Let's hurry up and get this over with~ I don't want to be caught pulling a prank with someone everyone thinks is a goodie-two-shoes."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 15, 2011 1:13 pm

"You're right, it would be hard to change your mind." Xander said with a chuckle as he slightly gave ground. "Don't worry about it then as that was mostly me just thinking out loud." he waved a hand dismissively.

"So is this broker a friend or enemy or yours?" The teen gave Izaya an unreadable look. "Everyone need friends, whether they are pokemon or human, it doesn't matter. It's been proven that people work better with at lest one trusted some one."

"You are too cautious, even in Team Rocket you will find there are cliques, friends and family. Humans also can be loyal, trustworthy and safe, not just fickle so you just have to find someone who can like you for you and stop hiding behind false faces a times." He shook his head slightly, not sure if he was even explaining it good enough, or even if he should even be going into it with the other man as they truly didn't know each other that well. Everything he was saying now was part from listening to Izaya, part from watching him interact and part speculation so he couldn't be sure if it was even right.

"Ah but here is the thing Izaya, Frost isn't untouchable. He doesn't fully hide behind smiles and words to push people away. He has at least one he could trust." Of course that one Xander was talking about was Skiron as he wasn't sure if the older man quite trusted him as much just yet. "You can seem to embrace your emotions and still distance your self from them, just like you can seem to distance your self while still embracing them."

"Not much to do around HQ besides train, eat, sleep, work and interact with people." Xander shrugged with a slight chuckle. "But yes, lets get this done with quickly." He brushed off the comment about him being a goodie-two-shoes, technically speaking if he was then he wouldn't be in Team Rocket now would he?

"And what happens if they don't have friends, mm? Will they explode? Will they die? No. It's not a necessity. Therefore, you can't truthfully say everyone 'needs' friends." Izaya countered. "And I'm not 'everyone'."

The informer laughed. "'Too cautious'?" he repeated. "Oh, of course, that's why I almost got a concussion from being slammed into a wall twice upon my first meeting with a Team Rocket Executive. For me, there's no such thing as 'too cautious'. Even before I joined this organization, do you have any idea how many people wanted me dead?" he asked with a cheerful smile, as if bragging. "No, no, and no. Show me a human that has any of those qualities, especially one who's a Rocket. I'll even make a bet with you, if you think you're up to it. But you have to prove it, of course."

Orihara sneered at the ground as they walked. No one could like him for him. It just wasn't possible. Unless, maybe, they were a masochist. Who knew - there were all sorts of people in this world. Still, Izaya didn't want to or expect to meet anyone like that here among his coworkers and teammates. He still thought Xander was just plain silly for mixing romance and work, even if he didn't really have much of a life outside of work to cultivate romance separately. If a relationship was what he desired, he probably should have thought of that before he signed his life away to the big red 'R'. Ah, well. He would probably learn the hard way in time. The young and foolish often did.

"Frost doesn't hide because his true nature is repelling enough as it is," Nakura laughed aloud. "He obviously doesn't enjoy human company and he makes that very clear. He pushes people away even without meaning to. It's only a compassionate kid like you who would try to get close to him despite who he is." The man shrugged. "I'll bet he just appreciates the gesture because no one else has really shown interest in him before. He probably just warmed up to you because you were the first; not because he 'likes you for who you are'."

Still, Xander's words seemed to strike a nerve, because Izaya stopped smiling. Yes, he distanced himself from his emotions. He believed it was the best way to be, doing what he did. As an observer of humans, he liked to set himself apart from them, not get involved. Someone like Frost would probably gain from having someone close to him, but Izaya didn't think any sort of relationship with another individual human could really be of any benefit to him. No, he was nothing like Frost.

"There's always watching people and their behaviors," Izaya offered almost absently. "When you simplify it like that, of course it's going to sound boring. There's always exploring the base, finding out people's secrets, tracking down rumors, testing theories, taunting trainees, learning about new tech..." His smile returned. "Though I admit pranking does sound the most entertaining of those choices."
PostPosted: Fri Sep 16, 2011 2:01 pm

Xander just sighed and shook his head lightly with a chuckle. "You know what? I'm not going to try to change your mind right now. Maybe another time after gathering evidence to back up my claims first." He said with a smile. "After all you are just going to magically believe me with in the next few minutes." He nodded to his self, already having a few ideas for proof of his claims.

His smile flickered slightly when Izaya mentioned that Frost might not like him as much. He had that thought before, months ago towards the beginning of his friendship with the older man but had pushed it away. It was a slight dig he would admit as it did happen to be a worry of his but he didn't want it to bother him. "Or he could honestly like me. You're to pessimistic Iza. Cheer up and look on the bright side of things once in a while."

When Izaya lost his smile Xander figured it was time to drop the conversations before they ruined the mood to have fun. After all he hadn't meant to get into a long discussion on life views and the such, not that it hadn't been entertaining in it's own way. "Right, come on. Time to drop the talking and have a bit more action as we are almost to the rooms." He said. It was true enough even though he could have kept them walking around for a bit longer if they needed to keep talking. But they did have limited time as it were so it was time to get back to the plan. Xander's eyes glinted with mischief.

"Yes, yes, you do that," the black-haired trainee answered indifferently, waving a hand. "Good luck. You're going to need it. I've never found anyone who could prove that things like friendship and romantic love even exist, let alone that anyone needs them." Glancing at Xander out the corner of his eye, he gave him a wary look, as if suspecting that the blond teen would attempt to do something in the next few minutes to 'magically' make him believe. Thankfully, he didn't seem to have any intentions of the sort. The two kept walking.

A flicker of doubt. It was only for a brief instant, but Izaya read it there in Xander's features. The young man didn't seem the type to brood on minorly worrisome things or let them concern him for too long, however. Ever the optimist, the blonde took the opposing side.

"If it did, though," Izaya continued, still watching his 'friend', "Would it bother you? Hypothetically speaking, of course. I know a lot of people would be the type to say something like, 'It doesn't matter if he would have liked someone else; he ended up liking me and that's all that matters now'. But not you," the crimson-eyed info-broker pressed. "You're too sensitive and emotional for that. It would hurt you if it were true. Am I wrong?"

"I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist," insisted the trainee, continuing onward. For him, this series of arguments was a type of fun. When he was winning, at least. On the up-side, he was getting an insight into Xander as a person, but on the down-side, it seemed Xander was sensitive and aware enough to pick up things about himself as well, hard as he worked to hide them. It was interesting, truth be told. He hadn't found someone this interested in learning about himself since another info-broker had tried to do away with him for ruining his plans.

It was strange, new, and confusing to find someone who seemed to want to learn about him without harmful intentions towards his person. That said, Izaya still wasn't sure he could trust the blonde. Who knew? Maybe Xander still had some hostile reason for trying to learn more about Izaya. Human nature - true human nature - wasn't anything like Xander made it out to be, after all; Orihara knew that from experience. He couldn't let the kid get to him any more than he already had. It was too close and too risky.

"Ah, gomen; I tend to ramble about my thoughts if I'm allowed to chat away~" he apologized. Less talking, more action. Besides, Xander had appeared to take on an entirely new demeanor; one that Izaya was particularly keen on learning more about. If he had an inner prankster in him, who knew what other faces he kept hidden away? He hurried forward quickly so as not to lose the grunt.
